Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The invention relates to a lock system which is manufactured for the assembly of the ground engaging wear parts in multi-purpose backhoe loaders and developed for use for different purposes (mining, highway and dam projects, road construction, maintenance and repair, water canal construction, decoupage, soil excavation, loading and spreading, etc.) in the construction and building sector, wherein it enables impact-free assembly of ground engaging wear parts of construction equipment.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] In recent years, the mining, infrastructure, construction, repair, and excavation sectors have developed greatly due to both the need arising from the population increase and the effect of technology. In line with this development, quite a lot of improvements and innovations are introduced regarding the machines employed in the said sectors. Lock systems are needed for the ground engaging wear parts located on the edge of the digger and loader buckets of these construction equipment used in the mining, infrastructure, construction, repair, and excavation sectors.

[0003] In the current techniques of the lock systems used for the ground engaging wear parts, the attachment is provided by positioning the adapter and point tip side by side and driving a pin with a sledgehammer to the junction of the adapter and point tip. This is one of the oldest techniques known in the art. In this technique, driving the pin made of metal and its derivatives with the use of a sledgehammer not only requires extra labor but also threatens human health by extremely increasing the risk of occupational accidents.

[0004] Other lock systems in the existing techniques require the use of many parts in the assembly process. This leads to additional loss of time and increased labor during assembly, as well as raising the possibility of mistakes and errors in the locking system. It, therefore, causes incorrect assembly. Additionally, the elements of the locking systems of the existing applications, regarding their design and strength, are manufactured in a way that allows replacing them with new ones in each point change. Creating extra costs for the user, this practice also results in extra labor due to the need to disassemble the connecting parts that are damaged quickly. In the lock systems in the current techniques, the point and adapter elements are generally fixed, locked, and unlocked by the pin in a vertical axis, and this increases the labor and time spent during assembly and disassembly.

[0006] Application numbered US4324057A and titled “pin type tooth retention system” in the prior art mentions an excavator tooth assembly with an adapter and retaining means. This application does not mention an embodiment eliminating the abovementioned disadvantages.

[0007] Application numbered US2003101627 and titled “excavating tooth assembly with rotatable connector pin structure” in the prior art mentions a rotatable connector pin assembly disposed within an opening in an adapter nose. This application does not mention an embodiment eliminating the abovementioned disadvantages.

[0008] Application numbered US3019537A and titled “keeper for an excavator tooth” in the prior art mentions a tooth assembly. This application also does not mention an embodiment eliminating the abovementioned disadvantages.

[0009] In conclusion, the abovementioned problems in the lock system for ground engaging wear parts of construction equipment, as well as the inadequacy of the current solutions, entail an improvement in the respective field.DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0056] The preferred alternatives in this detailed description of the embodiment of the lock system for ground engaging wear parts of construction equipment of the present disclosure are only intended for providing a better understanding of the subject matter and should not be construed in any restrictive sense.

[0057] The lock system of the invention is comprised of the main elements of a point (100), an adapter (200), a retaining pin (300), a smart segment (400), and a spring (500). The lock system of the present invention consists of the retaining pin (300) which is utilized to perform the locking function, is produced as wedge-shaped, and consists of a retaining pin latch bolt (320) which is used in the locking process and enables locking; the smart segment (400) which is positioned in a segment cavity of adapter (210) on the adapter (200) and is in contact with the retaining pin (300) by covering it around; the spring (500) which is positioned on the smart segment (400) and comes into contact with and remains on the retaining pin (300) by stretching with the movement received to the retaining pin (300) during locking. Apart from the retaining pin latch bolt, the retaining pin (300) has a spring cavity of retaining pin (310) where the spring (500) takes a corresponding position upon locking and a retaining pin position indicator (330) which allows understanding whether the retaining pin (300) is in the locked or open position.

[0058] In the present invention, the spring (500) is placed onto a spring positioning area of smart segment (410) located on the smart segment (400). The smart segment (400) achieving contact with the spring (500) is positioned into the segment cavity of adapter (210) on the adapter (200). Then, an adapter body protrusion (230) on the adapter (200) is inserted into a body cavity of point (120) located on the rear side of the point (100). The retaining pin (300) firstly passes through a retaining pin cavity of point (110) and then through a retaining pin cavity of smart segment (420) and a retaining pin cavity of adapter (220), respectively, and thus takes position. Finally, the retaining pin (300) is turned from a retaining pin rotating area (340), thereby performing the locking. The direction of the retaining pin position indicator (330) enables understanding that the locking is done. At the beginning of the locking process, the retaining pin latch bolt (320) moves to a strike plate of smart segment (430), and when the retaining pin (300) is turned by applying pressure, the retaining pin latch bolt (320) stretches the spring (500), falling into place, and takes its final position by rotating. Simultaneously, the spring (500) having a form hollowing inward enters into the spring cavity of retaining pin (310) and the locking is ensured. Also, a bucket straddle area of adapter (240) allows attaching the combination of the point (100) and the adapter (200) to the bucket.

[0059] The lock system of the invention consists of a retaining pin cavity of point (110) in the horizontal position on the point (100) and a retaining pin cavity of adapter (220) in the horizontal position on the adapter (200). Thanks to these horizontally-positioned cavities, the system can be locked in the horizontal position since the retaining pin (300) is placed horizontally on the point (100) and the adapter (200). Thus, locking and assembly are safe, and workload is reduced.

[0060] Being another element of the invention, the smart segment (400) has a spring positioning area of smart segment (410) for the spring (500) element to be positioned, a retaining pin cavity of smart segment (420) which the retaining pin (300) passes through and takes position, a strike plate of smart segment (430) which is used to enable a retaining pin latch bolt (320) on the retaining pin (300) to perform the locking by entering thereinto. Moreover, the invention consists of a spring stretch cavity (510) which is created to enable the spring (500) to get a position on the smart segment (400) and allows the spring (500) to stretch.

[0061] For the present invention to be used on construction equipment, it should be assembled onto the digger and loader components thereof called “buckets”. The adapters (200) are mounted by welding to the bucket cutting edges from the bucket straddle area of adapter (240). The points are mounted to the adapters positioned on the bucket by using the lock system elements.
