AI Technical Summary
Conventional gas-based fire extinguishing equipment injection heads generate high noise levels during extinguishing agent gas discharge, posing risks to people in the area and potentially causing equipment failures, while also compromising diffusion performance in large volume-to-floor area spaces like underfloor server rooms.
An injection head with a silencing means featuring a block-shaped sound-absorbing member made of porous material, including an exposed portion and a high-speed ejection portion, is designed to reduce noise while maintaining diffusion performance, with the sound-absorbing member having a smaller pore diameter in the direction of gas flow and being separated from the high-speed ejection portion to optimize noise reduction and gas dispersion.
The solution effectively reduces noise levels without compromising diffusion performance, enabling extended extinguishing gas emission times and suitable use in low-flow equipment and large volume-to-floor area spaces, such as underfloor server rooms.

Abstract
Description
Jet head with sound dampening means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment
[0001] The present invention relates to a spray head installed in a gas-based fire extinguishing system that uses a fire extinguishing gas such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or a fluorine compound to discharge the fire extinguishing gas into a target compartment, and more particularly to a spray head equipped with sound-absorbing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system that can reduce the noise generated when the fire extinguishing gas is discharged.
[0002] In a gas-based fire extinguishing system that uses extinguishing gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and fluorine compounds, when the gas-based fire extinguishing system is activated to extinguish a fire, the extinguishing gas is released so that the extinguishing gas concentration in the target compartment reaches the extinguishing concentration within a specified time.
[0003] At this time, the extinguishing agent gas is discharged from a jet head installed on the ceiling or wall surface to discharge the extinguishing agent gas into the compartment to be extinguished. The jet head for the gas-based fire extinguishing equipment is as shown in FIG. 13( a) , which has an orifice 20 at the outlet of a jet head 10A connected to a pipe through which the extinguishing agent gas is supplied, and discharges the extinguishing agent gas directly from the orifice 20 into the compartment to be extinguished. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 13( b) , which has an orifice 20 at the outlet of a jet head 10B connected to a pipe through which the extinguishing agent gas is supplied. and a conical deflector (deflection member) 50, so that the extinguishing agent gas discharged from the orifice 20 is deflected by the deflector (deflection member) 50 and discharged into the compartment to be extinguished; and further, as shown in Figure 13(c), a spray head 10C is provided at the outlet portion with an orifice (not shown) and a conical horn (diffusion member) 60, so that the extinguishing agent gas discharged from the orifice is diffused by the horn (diffusion member) 60 and discharged into the compartment to be extinguished.
[0004] As described above, the above-mentioned conventional gas-based fire extinguishing equipment spray heads 10A, 10B, and 10C are designed to use the orifice 20 to limit the flow rate of the extinguishing gas discharged from the spray heads so that the same amount of extinguishing gas is discharged from each of the spray heads, of which multiple units are usually installed in a fire-extinguishing area. However, it has been known that this limits the flow rate of the extinguishing gas discharged from the spray heads, resulting in high-level noise (specifically, noise of 120 dB or more) being generated when the extinguishing gas is discharged from the spray heads.
[0005] Incidentally, when gas-based fire extinguishing equipment is activated, it is assumed that no one is present in the area to be extinguished. Therefore, the noise (vibration) generated when the extinguishing gas is released from the injection head has not been considered a problem at all, and no measures have been taken to address this issue.
[0006] However, based on the knowledge that there is a need to deal with the situation where there are people in the area to be extinguished who are unable to escape when the gas-based fire extinguishing equipment is activated, that the noise generated when the extinguishing gas is released from the spray head may have an adverse effect on people in the vicinity, and that noise (vibration) can cause malfunctions in precision equipment such as information and communication devices, the applicant of the present application has previously proposed a technology for reducing the noise generated when the extinguishing gas is released (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).
[0007] JP 2011-125673 A JP 2013-169333 A
[0008] The injection head equipped with a silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment proposed by the applicant above is equipped with a block-shaped silencing member made of a porous material through which gas can flow, which is arranged at the outlet of the orifice, and thereby it is possible to increase the noise reduction rate even with a small injection head.
[0009] However, injection heads equipped with sound-absorbing means tend to have lower extinguishing gas diffusion performance than injection heads without sound-absorbing means because the porous material used as the sound-absorbing means reduces the flow rate of the extinguishing gas during injection. This trade-off exists: increasing sound-absorbing performance reduces the extinguishing gas diffusion performance, while maintaining the diffusion performance results in lower sound-absorbing performance. Furthermore, in recent years, fire extinguishing equipment with extended extinguishing gas discharge times has emerged. While this allows for a lower extinguishing gas flow rate than normal, which offers benefits such as a smaller pressure relief vent area and a smaller piping diameter, it also presents a problem of reduced extinguishing gas diffusion performance due to the reduced extinguishing gas flow rate. This problem is particularly significant in areas with a large floor area relative to their volume, such as underfloor areas. Here, an underfloor area refers to an underfloor area, such as the one in a server room shown in FIG. 14 , which has a smaller height dimension H, e.g., approximately 300 mm, compared to a typical fire extinguishing area.
[0010] In view of the problems associated with the above-mentioned injection heads equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment, the present invention aims to provide an injection head equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment that can be used for low-flow fire extinguishing equipment with an extended extinguishing gas discharge time or for fire-extinguishing compartments with a large floor area relative to their volume, by improving the diffusion performance of the fire extinguishing gas without reducing the silencing performance.
[0011] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the injection head with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment of the present invention is an injection head with silencing means that is installed in a gas-based fire extinguishing equipment that uses a fire extinguishing gas to discharge the fire extinguishing gas into a compartment to be extinguished, and is characterized in that the silencing means is composed of a sound-deadening member made of a porous material through which gas can flow and arranged at the outlet portion of an orifice, and the sound-deadening member has an exposed portion whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere, and a high-speed discharging portion that discharges the fire extinguishing gas in a specific direction at a speed faster than the discharge speed of the fire extinguishing gas from the exposed portion, and the exposed portion and the high-speed discharging portion are partitioned.
[0012] In this case, the direction of release of the extinguishing gas from the exposed portion and the direction of release of the extinguishing gas from the high-speed release portion can be made to be approximately parallel, to form a predetermined acute angle, or to form an angle of approximately 90°.
[0013] The sound deadening member constituting the exposed portion may be formed in a cylindrical, columnar or polygonal shape, or in a shape that bulges outward from other portions.
[0014] Furthermore, the pore size of the pores in the porous material that constitutes the sound deadening member can be made smaller in the direction in which the gas flows.
[0015] The high-speed discharge portions may be in contact with through holes formed on the circumferential surface of the ejection head body, and the high-speed discharge portions may be formed at equal angular intervals on the circumferential surface of the ejection head body.
[0016] The exposed portion may be disposed between the high-speed release portions.
[0017] Furthermore, the exposed portion can be disposed upstream of the injection head in the direction in which the extinguishing agent gas flows, and the high-speed release portion can be disposed downstream of the injection head.
[0018] The distance from the center of the injection head to the extinguishant gas discharge surface of the exposed portion may be greater than the distance from the extinguishant gas discharge surface of the high-velocity discharge portion.
[0019] In addition, a diffusion section for uniformly diffusing the extinguishing agent gas that has passed through the orifice may be provided between the orifice and the exposed section and the high-speed discharging section.
[0020] According to the injection head equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment of the present invention, it is possible to provide an injection head equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment that can be used for low-flow fire extinguishing equipment with an extended discharge time of fire extinguishing gas, or for fire-extinguishing compartments with a large floor area relative to their volume, by improving the diffusion performance of the fire extinguishing gas without reducing the silencing performance.

[0022] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of a jet head equipped with a silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
[0023] 1 and 2 show a first embodiment of a spray head with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention. This spray head 1A with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system is a spray head with silencing means installed in a gas-based fire extinguishing system that uses a fire extinguishing gas to discharge the fire extinguishing gas into a target compartment for extinguishing, and the silencing means is constituted by a sound-deadening member 4 made of a porous material through which gas can flow, which is disposed at the outlet of an orifice 31. The sound-deadening member 4 has an exposed portion 4A whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere, and a high-speed discharge portion 4B that discharges the fire extinguishing gas in a specific direction at a speed faster than the discharge speed of the fire extinguishing gas from the exposed portion 4A, so that the exposed portion 4A and the high-speed discharge portion 4B are separated from each other.
[0024] The injection head 1A is attached to the ceiling surface (underside of floor F) of the underfloor section of the server room, for example, as shown in FIG. 14, and is composed of an injection head main body 2 connected to a pipe (not shown) through which the fire extinguishing gas is supplied, an orifice plate 3 having an orifice 31 formed therein and detachably arranged on the injection head main body 2, and a block-shaped sound-absorbing member 4 made of a porous material through which gas can pass and arranged at the outlet of the orifice 31.
[0025] The injection head main body 2 has a circular cross section and is made up of an upper structure 2A that forms a connection portion with the piping, and a lower structure 2B that is attached to the upper structure 2A by screwing.
[0026] The orifice plate 3 having the orifices 31 formed therein is arranged to be detachable from the opening on the connection side of the piping in the injection head main body 2, so that the orifice plate 3 having a plurality of types of orifices 31 formed therein can be selected according to conditions such as the installation location.
[0027] Furthermore, it is preferable that the large diameter side of the orifice 31 faces the sound deadening member 4. This allows the extinguishing agent gas to flow uniformly from the center to the periphery of the sound deadening member 4, which, together with the fact that the noise generated at the extinguishing agent gas release portion can be made uniform, can further increase the noise reduction rate.
[0028] The block-shaped sound deadening member 4 made of a porous material may be constructed as an integral structure, or as shown in this embodiment, as a divided structure consisting of a first member 41, a second member 42, and a third member 43 that covers the outer periphery of the upper part of the second member 42.
[0029] A diffusion section 5 is provided between the first member 41 and the second member 42 to uniformly diffuse the extinguishing agent gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the first member 41 toward the second member 42. This diffusion section 5 has a cylindrical shape with a large number of through holes (orifices) formed on its circumferential surface, and in this embodiment, it is configured integrally with the upper structure 2A of the injection head main body 2, but it may also be configured as a separate member from the injection head main body 2.
[0030] The porous material constituting the sound deadening member 4 can suitably be a porous structure having a three-dimensional network structure made of an inorganic material (metal, metal oxide, metal hydroxide, etc.) with high shape retention properties.
[0031] The pore size of the pores in the porous material that makes up the sound deadening member 4 can be varied in the direction of gas flow, or more specifically, can be made smaller in the direction of gas flow, and in this embodiment, for example, the third member 43 can be made of a material in which the pore size of the pores is smaller than the pore sizes of the pores in the first member 41 and the second member 42. In this way, by making the pore size of the pores in the porous material that makes up the sound deadening member 4 smaller in the direction of gas flow, the noise reduction rate can be further increased.
[0032] In either the integral structure or the divided structure, the silencing member 4 is disposed such that one end face of the silencing member 4 is in contact with the jet head main body 2 (which may include the orifice plate 3 in this embodiment), and the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 4, specifically, the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the lower part of the second member 42, are open to the atmosphere. The outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 forms an exposed portion 4A whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere. Furthermore, a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the lower part of the second member 42 is in contact with through-holes 21 formed at multiple locations (four locations at 90° intervals in this embodiment) on the outer peripheral surface of the lower structure 2B of the jet head main body 2, thereby forming a high-speed release portion 4B that releases extinguishant gas in a specific direction at a higher speed than the release speed of the extinguishant gas from the exposed portion 4A. That is, the extinguishant gas passes through the orifice 31 from the exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and flows into the first member 41, then passes through the diffusion portion 5, and flows into the second member 42 and the third member 43 covering the outer peripheral portion of the upper part of the second member 42, and is released in a state where it is sufficiently decelerated, thereby ensuring the sound deadening performance of the injection head 1A. On the other hand, the extinguishant gas passes through the orifice 31 from the high-speed release portion 4B formed by the outer peripheral surface in contact with the through-hole 21 of the injection head main body 2 at the lower part of the second member 42, then passes through the diffusion portion 5, and flows into the lower part of the second member 42, and is released in a state where it maintains a required flow rate, thereby improving the diffusion performance of the extinguishant gas. Here, the through-hole 21 may be formed as a circular hole having a diameter of about 10 mm or more, for example, or may be formed as a circular hole having a cross-sectional area of about the same (about 80 mm 2The third member 43 may be formed of an oval or slit-shaped hole having a cross-sectional area of 100 mm or more. The exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and the high-speed release portion 4B formed by the outer peripheral surface of the lower portion of the second member 42 that is in contact with the through-hole 21 of the injection head main body 2 can be adjusted to balance the diffusibility of the extinguishant gas and the sound pressure reduction effect by changing the exposed area ratio between the exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the second member 42 that is in contact with the through-hole 21 of the injection head main body 2. For example, when a large-diameter injection head is used and the flow rate is high, the sound pressure can be efficiently reduced by increasing the size of the exposed portion 4A (lengthening the axial dimension). In this embodiment, the high-speed release portion 4B is formed by the outer peripheral surface of the lower portion of the second member 42 that is in contact with the through-hole 21. However, to improve sound silencing performance, a sound silencing member (not shown) that is thinner than the third member 43 and covers the outer peripheral portion of the lower portion of the second member 42 can be provided between the second member 42 and the lower structure 2B of the injection head main body 2, as long as the required flow rate is maintained. In this embodiment, the through-holes 21 constituting the high-speed release section 4B are formed in four locations at 90° intervals (equidistant intervals) so that the extinguishant gas is diffused throughout the square planar shape of the fire extinguishing target compartment, but depending on the shape of the target fire extinguishing compartment and the installation form of the spray head, the through-holes 21 constituting the high-speed release section 4B may be formed in eight locations at 45° intervals, six locations at 60° intervals, three locations at 120° intervals, or two locations at 180° intervals. Furthermore, the through-holes 21 constituting the high-speed release section 4B may be formed unevenly so that the extinguishant gas is diffused only in a specific direction.
[0033] This improves the diffusion performance of the extinguishing gas without reducing sound deadening performance, making it possible to accommodate low-flow fire extinguishing equipment with extended extinguishing gas discharge times and fire-extinguishing compartments with a large floor area relative to their volume.
[0034] Figure 3 shows a second embodiment of a spray head equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention. This spray head 1B equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system omits the first member 41 of the orifice plate 3 and silencing member 4 of the spray head 1A of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, and the through-holes 21 formed in the lower structure 2B of the spray head main body 2 are formed so that the direction in which the extinguishing agent gas is discharged from the through-holes 21 is slightly downward (approximately 5 to 30 degrees, approximately 10 degrees in this embodiment) from the horizontal direction of the spray head 1A of the first embodiment. In this case, the numerous through-holes formed in the peripheral surface of the diffusion section 5 serve as orifices. Here, the angle of the discharge direction of the extinguishant gas from the through holes 21 formed in the lower structure 2B of the spray head main body 2 is not limited to the above angle, and the discharge direction of the extinguishant gas discharged from the exposed portion 4A and the discharge direction of the extinguishant gas discharged from the high-velocity discharge portion 4B can be set to a predetermined angle of any angle (acute angle) between 0 and 90 degrees, depending on conditions such as the installation location of the spray head. Furthermore, the discharge direction of the extinguishant gas from the through holes 21 formed in the lower structure 2B of the spray head main body 2 can be set to be horizontal or downward, or alternatively, upward from the horizontal, for example, by about 5 to 30 degrees upward, depending on the shape of the compartment to be extinguished and the installation position of the spray head.
[0035] The other configurations and operations of the ejection head 1B of this embodiment are the same as those of the ejection head 1A of the first embodiment.
[0036] 4 and 5 show a third embodiment of a spray head equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention. This spray head 1C equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system is configured with a silencing member 40 formed by integrating the first member 41 and the second member 42 of the silencing member 4 of the spray head 1A of the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, omits the diffusion section 5, and has through-holes 21 formed in the lower structure 2B of the spray head main body 2 so that the direction in which the extinguishing agent gas is discharged from the through-holes 21 is slightly downward (approximately 5 to 30 degrees, approximately 10 degrees in this embodiment) from the horizontal direction of the spray head 1A of the first embodiment.
[0037] The injection head main body 2 has a circular cross section and is made up of an upper structure 2A that forms a connection portion with the piping, and a lower structure 2B that is attached to the upper structure 2A with screw members.
[0038] The other configurations and operations of the ejection head 1C of this embodiment are the same as those of the ejection head 1A of the first embodiment.
[0039] Figure 6 shows a fourth embodiment of a spray head equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention. This spray head 1D equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system has through-holes 22, each smaller in diameter than the through-hole 21 (approximately 1 / 3 to 1 / 5 of the diameter of the through-hole 21), formed alternately at multiple locations (four locations at 90° intervals in this embodiment) on the circumferential surface of the lower structure 2B of the spray head main body 2 of the spray head 1C of the third embodiment shown in Figures 3 to 5. A portion of the outer circumferential surface of the lower part of the sound-absorbing member 40 of the sound-absorbing member 4 forms a second exposed portion and comes into contact with the through-holes 22, which have a smaller diameter than the through-holes 21. This allows the extinguishing agent gas to be released from the through-holes 22 at a sufficient deceleration, thereby ensuring the sound-absorbing performance of the spray head 1D.
[0040] The other configurations and operations of the ejection head 1D of this embodiment are the same as those of the ejection head 1C of the third embodiment.
[0041] 7 to 9 show a fifth embodiment of the injection head equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment of the present invention. In this injection head 1E equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment, the first member 41 and the second member 42 of the silencing member 4 of the injection head 1A of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2 are integrated into one body, and the silencing member 4 is divided into two members 40a and 40b in the vertical direction, with a third member 43 sandwiched between them, thereby omitting the diffusion section 5.
[0042] The injection head main body 2 has a cross-sectional shape of a regular polygon (regular octagon) and is composed of an upper structure 2A that forms a connection part with the piping, and a lower structure 2B that is attached to the upper structure 2A with screw members, with a third member 43 sandwiched between them.
[0043] The orifice plate 3 having the orifices 31 formed therein is detachably arranged on the ejection head body 2, so that the orifice plate 3 having a plurality of types of orifices 31 formed therein can be selected according to conditions such as the installation location.
[0044] The pore size of the pores in the porous material that makes up the sound deadening member 4 is such that the entire member is made of a homogeneous material, and in this embodiment, the third member 43 is made of a material that has pores with a smaller diameter than the pores in the sound deadening members 40 a, 40 b. By making the third member 43 out of a material that has pores with a smaller diameter in this way, the noise reduction rate can be further increased.
[0045] In either the integral structure or the divided structure, the silencing member 4 is disposed such that one end face of the silencing member 4 is in contact with the jet head main body 2 (which may include the orifice plate 3 in this embodiment), and the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 4, specifically, the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 40b, are open to the atmosphere. The outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 forms an exposed portion 4A whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere. Furthermore, a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 40b is in contact with through-holes 21 formed at multiple locations (four locations at 90° intervals in this embodiment) on the circumferential surface of the lower structure 2B of the jet head main body 2, thereby forming a high-speed release portion 4B that releases extinguishant gas in a specific direction at a higher speed than the release speed of the extinguishant gas from the exposed portion 4A. That is, the extinguishant gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the silencing member 40a from the exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 further flows into the third member 43 and is released in a state where it has been sufficiently decelerated, thereby ensuring the silencing performance of the injection head 1A. On the other hand, the extinguishant gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the silencing member 40a from the high-speed release portion 4B formed by the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 40b that is in contact with the through-holes 21 of the injection head main body 2 further passes through the third member 43 and flows into the silencing member 40b and is released in a state where it has maintained a required flow rate, thereby improving the diffusion performance of the extinguishant gas. Here, there are four through-holes 21 at one location, and the total cross-sectional area of the four through-holes 21 is about 80 mm 2 or more.
[0046] The other configurations and operations of the ejection head 1E of this embodiment are the same as those of the ejection head 1A of the first embodiment.
[0047] 10 and 11 show a sixth embodiment of a spray head with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system according to the present invention. This spray head 1F with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system is a spray head with silencing means installed in a gas-based fire extinguishing system that uses extinguishing gas to discharge the extinguishing gas into a target compartment for extinguishing, and the silencing means is constituted by a silencing member 4 made of a porous material through which gas can flow, which is disposed at the outlet of the orifice 31. The silencing member 4 has an exposed portion 4A whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere, and a high-speed discharge portion 4B that discharges the extinguishing gas in a specific direction at a speed faster than the discharge speed of the extinguishing gas from the exposed portion 4A, so that the exposed portion 4A and the high-speed discharge portion 4B are separated from each other.
[0048] The block-shaped sound deadening member 4 made of a porous material may be configured as an integral structure, or as shown in this embodiment, as a divided structure made up of a first member 41, a second member 42, and a third member 43 that covers the outer periphery of the upper part of the second member 42. Here, the first member 41 may be formed in a cylindrical shape, or as shown in this embodiment, in a shape whose cross-sectional area expands in the direction in which the gas flows (a truncated cone shape).
[0049] A diffusion section 5 is provided between the first member 41 and the second member 42 to uniformly diffuse the extinguishing agent gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the first member 41 toward the second member 42. The diffusion section 5 has a disk shape with a plurality of through holes (orifices) formed therein, and in this embodiment, is disposed by being screwed onto the upper structure 2A of the injection head main body 2.
[0050] In either the integral structure or the divided structure, the silencing member 4 is disposed such that one end face of the silencing member 4 is in contact with the jet head main body 2 (which may include the orifice plate 3 in this embodiment), and the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 4, specifically, the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the lower part of the second member 42, are open to the atmosphere. That is, the extinguishant gas passes through the orifice 31 from the exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and flows into the first member 41, then passes through the diffusion portion 5, and flows into the second member 42 and the third member 43 covering the outer peripheral portion of the upper part of the second member 42, where it is released at a sufficiently reduced speed, thereby ensuring the sound deadening performance of the injection head 1A. On the other hand, the extinguishant gas passes through the orifice 31 from the high-speed discharge portion 4B formed by the outer peripheral surface of the lower part of the second member 42 that is in contact with the through-hole 21 of the injection head main body 2, then passes through the diffusion portion 5, and flows into the lower part of the second member 42, where it is released at a required flow rate, thereby improving the diffusion performance of the extinguishant gas. Furthermore, by making the distance from the center of the injection head 1F to the extinguishant gas discharge surface of the exposed portion 4A larger than the distance to the extinguishant gas discharge surface of the high-speed discharge portion 4B, the sound deadening performance can be further improved.
[0051] Incidentally, all of the above-mentioned injection heads 1A to 1F are intended to be attached to the ceiling surface (underside of floor F) of the underfloor compartment of a server room, for example, as shown in FIG. 14, and the direction of release of the extinguishing agent gas from the exposed portion 4A and the direction of release of the extinguishing agent gas from the high-velocity release portion 4B are made to be approximately parallel or to form a predetermined acute angle. For example, FIG. 12 shows a seventh embodiment of an injection head equipped with silencing means for a gas-based fire extinguishing system of the present invention, when attached to the wall W of the underfloor compartment of a server room, as shown in FIG. 14.
[0052] The injection head 1G equipped with the silencing means for this gas-based fire extinguishing system is configured with a silencing member 40 formed by integrating the first member 41 and the second member 42 of the silencing member 4 of the injection head 1A of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, omits the diffusion section 5, and the discharge direction of the extinguishing gas from the through holes 21 formed in the lower structure 2B of the injection head main body 2 is such that the discharge direction of the extinguishing gas discharged from the exposed portion 4A and the discharge direction of the extinguishing gas discharged from the high-speed discharge portion 4B form an angle of approximately 90° with respect to the horizontal direction of the injection head 1A of the first embodiment (whereas the discharge direction of the extinguishing gas discharged from the exposed portion 4A and the discharge direction of the extinguishing gas discharged from the high-speed discharge portion 4B are approximately parallel).
[0053] In either the integral structure or the divided structure, the silencing member 4 is disposed such that one end face of the silencing member 4 contacts the jet head main body 2 (which may include the orifice plate 3 in this embodiment), and the outer peripheral surface of the silencing member 4, specifically, the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 and a portion of the other end face of the silencing member 40, are open to the atmosphere. The outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 forms an exposed portion 4A whose circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere. Furthermore, a portion of the other end face of the silencing member 40 contacts through-holes 21 formed at multiple locations (four locations at 90° intervals in this embodiment) on the underside of the lower structure 2B of the jet head main body 2 (which becomes a vertical surface when attached to the wall W of the underfloor compartment of the server room), thereby forming a high-speed release portion 4B that releases extinguishant gas in a specific direction at a higher speed than the release speed of the extinguishant gas from the exposed portion 4A. That is, the extinguishant gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the silencing member 40 from the exposed portion 4A formed by the outer peripheral surface of the third member 43 further flows into the third member 43 that covers the outer peripheral portion of the upper part of the silencing member 40 and is released at a sufficiently reduced speed, thereby ensuring the silencing performance of the injection head 1A. On the other hand, the extinguishant gas that has passed through the orifice 31 and flowed into the silencing member 40 from the high-speed release portion 4B formed by the other end surface of the silencing member 40 that is in contact with the through-hole 21 of the injection head body 2 is released at a required flow rate, thereby improving the diffusion performance of the extinguishant gas.
[0054] The above has described the injection head equipped with silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment of the present invention based on its embodiments, but the present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the above embodiments, and the configuration can be changed as appropriate within the scope of the spirit of the present invention, such as by appropriately combining the configurations described in each embodiment.
[0055] The injection head equipped with a sound-extinguishing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment of the present invention improves the diffusion performance of the extinguishing agent gas without reducing sound-extinguishing performance, and can therefore be used for low-flow fire extinguishing equipment with an extended extinguishing agent gas discharge time and fire extinguishing compartments with a large floor area relative to their volume. Therefore, it can be suitably used for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment that uses extinguishing agent gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and fluorine compounds and is installed in compartments with a large floor area relative to their volume, such as underfloor compartments. In addition, since the protection range can be expanded without increasing the number of injection heads installed, it can be widely used for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment installed in general fire extinguishing compartments, and its application is not limited to newly installed gas-based fire extinguishing equipment, but can also be applied to existing gas-based fire extinguishing equipment by simply replacing the injection head.
