Description

Fixing device for hydrogen tank

[0001] The present invention relates to a hydrogen tank fixing device, and more specifically, to a hydrogen tank fixing device that can apply different fixing structures while minimizing structural changes of a base frame that fixes a hydrogen tank according to a fixing method of the hydrogen tank, and can implement a stacked structure of hydrogen tanks with a simple structure as the number of hydrogen tanks installed increases, thereby improving assembling ability and versatility.

[0002] This application claims priority from Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0083275, filed June 28, 2023, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference.

[0003] Recently, serious climate change has led to renewed interest in carbon emissions, and various studies are being conducted to reduce them. This trend has also led to active research on gas fuels, which have a low carbon content, and the proliferation of gas-powered vehicles is steadily increasing.

[0004] Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas are typical examples of gas fuels, and recently, technology to use hydrogen as fuel is also gradually increasing.

[0005] Hydrogen-powered vehicles generate their own electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, which powers the motor and propels the vehicle. These vehicles receive hydrogen from a hydrogen storage tank, allowing them to react with air to generate electricity.

[0006] Recently, research and development is underway to integrate multiple, smaller-diameter hydrogen tanks into the battery compartment, instead of installing a single, large hydrogen tank, to facilitate platform sharing between hydrogen and electric vehicles. Various support structures are being employed to secure the hydrogen tanks to the vehicle.

[0007] However, the conventional hydrogen tank support structure described above has a problem of reduced compatibility and versatility because the frame must be changed depending on the number of hydrogen tanks to be installed and the method of fixing the hydrogen tanks.

[0008] Meanwhile, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0044630 (publication date: 2021.04.23) discloses a "hydrogen tank fixing device," and Korean Patent Registration No. 10-1969287 (registration date: 2019.04.10) discloses a "hydrogen tank fixing device for a vehicle."

[0041] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, a hydrogen tank fixing device (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention largely includes a hydrogen tank (101), a base frame (110), a tank mounting portion (120), and a laminated expansion support frame (130). The hydrogen tank fixing device (100) according to this embodiment can be used in vehicles, ships, etc. that use fuel such as gaseous hydrogen gas, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, etc., and can also be optionally connected to a separate gas charging facility (not shown) for charging the gas.

[0042] In this embodiment, the hydrogen tank fixing device (100) is described as an example of being used in a vehicle or a ship, but it can also be applied to various gas charging facilities such as gas storage facilities if it is a facility that charges and discharges high-pressure gas using a plurality of hydrogen tanks (101).

[0043] The hydrogen tank (101) according to the present embodiment is fixed to the base frame (110) by the tank mounting part (120), and a plurality of hydrogen tank fixing devices (100) may be installed depending on the storage capacity of hydrogen at the location where the hydrogen tank fixing device (100) is applied. At this time, as the number of hydrogen tanks (101) installed increases, the number of base frames (110) installed may also increase correspondingly to the number of hydrogen tanks (101).

[0044] This hydrogen tank (101) is a container for storing compressed gases such as hydrogen within its internal space. In addition, the hydrogen tank (101) may be formed in a cylindrical shape, and both ends may be formed in a semicircular shape, to enhance stability and durability while also improving ease of installation and assembly.

[0045] In addition, the hydrogen tank (101) is provided with a nozzle portion (101a) for filling and discharging gas at each end, and the nozzle portion (101a) can be selectively fixed to the base frame (110) by the tank mounting portion (120). In addition, the hydrogen tank (101) can also be fixed to the base frame (110) in such a way that the cylindrical outer surface is supported by the tank mounting portion (120).

[0046] The hydrogen tank (101) according to this embodiment can be manufactured using metal and carbon composite materials.

[0047] The base frame (110) according to the present embodiment includes a horizontal support member (111), a vertical support member (113), and a tank mounting support member (115) to enable the hydrogen tank (101) to be mounted, and a tank mounting member (120) to secure the hydrogen tank (101) can be coupled. For example, the base frame (110) may be formed by combining the horizontal support member (111) and the vertical support member (113) in an “L” shape, and a stacking expansion support frame (130) may be coupled to one open side to enable stacking as the number of hydrogen tanks (101) increases.

[0048] This base frame (110) can be installed in a vehicle or a ship, etc., and can be stacked vertically by being connected to a laminated expansion support frame (130) when expanding a hydrogen tank (101). At this time, among the base frames (110) that are stacked vertically, the laminated expansion support frame (130) can be provided on the base frame (110) that is stacked on the lower side.

[0049] The horizontal support member (111) can be formed by combining hollow pipes into a square shape, and the hollow pipes are combined by a joining method such as welding. At this time, a vertical support member (113) can be combined on one side of the horizontal support member (111). The length of the horizontal support member (111) can be formed longer than the length of the hydrogen tank (101) so that the hydrogen tank (101) can be installed stably.

[0050] In addition, the horizontal support member (111) is provided with a first bracket member (111a) for fixing the tank mounting member (120). At this time, a tank mounting member (120) for fixing the nozzle member (101a) of the hydrogen tank (101) can be coupled to the first bracket member (111a). Through this, the neck member, which is the nozzle member (101a) of the hydrogen tank (101), can be firmly fixed to the first bracket member (111a).

[0051] In addition, the first bracket member (111a) is formed with a fastening hole to allow fastening of a bolt for fixing the tank mounting member (120), and a joint step portion (111b) is formed to allow stable fastening to the pipe of the horizontal support member (111).

[0052] The vertical support member (113) can be fixed longitudinally to one side of the horizontal support member (111) by a fixing method such as welding, thereby forming a side wall that covers one side of the hydrogen tank (101). This vertical support member (113) forms a pair with the laminated expansion support frame (130) when the base frame (110) is laminated to provide a support structure for the base frame (110).

[0053] Meanwhile, the horizontal support (111) and the vertical support (113) can be formed by hollow square pipes to have sufficient strength and durability while reducing the weight.

[0054] The tank mounting support member (115) can be connected to the horizontal support member (111) and the vertical support member (113) in a semicircular shape so that the hydrogen tank (101) can be mounted thereon and their outer surfaces can be in contact with each other. At this time, the tank mounting support member (115) can optionally have a tank mounting member (120) that fixes the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101) fixed thereto.

[0055] In addition, the tank mounting support member (115) includes a tank mounting band member (116) for supporting the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101), a band support bracket (117) for stable support and deformation prevention of the tank mounting band member (116), and a second bracket member (118) for coupling the tank mounting member (120).

[0056] The tank mounting band portion (116) may be formed in a semicircular shape, and flanges (116a) for fastening the tank mounting portion (120) may be formed by bending at each end. The tank mounting band portion (116) may be supported by being joined to a band support bracket (117) so that its shape is stably maintained.

[0057] The band support bracket (117) is provided spaced apart from the horizontal support (111) and the vertical support (113) to support the outer surface of the two ends and the central portion of the tank mounting band (116), and the outer surface of the tank mounting band (116) is joined by a fixing method such as welding.

[0058] The second bracket member (118) is joined to the band support bracket (117) and is connected to the horizontal support member (111) and the vertical support member (113) together with the band support bracket (117). This second bracket member (118) overlaps with the flanges (116a) at both ends of the tank mounting band member (116) to provide a function of further reinforcing the fastening portion of the tank mounting member (120). At this time, a fastening hole for fixing the tank mounting member (120) may be formed in the second bracket member (118) and the flange (116a).

[0059] The tank mounting part (120) according to the present embodiment can be selectively fixed to the first bracket member (111a) or the second bracket member (118) so as to fix either one of the nozzle parts (101a) at both ends or the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101) to the base frame (110). To this end, the tank mounting part (120) includes a first tank fixing part (111) for supporting the nozzle parts (101a) at both ends of the hydrogen tank (101) and fixing them to the first bracket member (111a) of the base frame (110), and a second tank fixing part (125) for wrapping the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101) and fixing them to the second bracket member (118) of the tank mounting support part (115).

[0060] In this tank mounting part (120), the first tank fixing part (111) and the second tank fixing part (125) can be selectively used as needed, and the first tank fixing part (111) and the second tank fixing part (125) can be used without changing the structure of the base frame (110). This allows for improved assembly and versatility.

[0061] The first tank fixing member (111) includes a nozzle support block (123) and a frame fixing member (124) so as to fix the nozzle member (101a) of the hydrogen tank (101), and the frame fixing member (124) can be fixed to the first bracket member (111a) while the nozzle support block (123) is fixed to the frame fixing member (124).

[0062] The nozzle support block (123) is formed by dividing it into upper and lower parts so that it has a structure into which the nozzle part (101a) can be inserted, and the lower block is connected to the frame fixing part (124) through a bolt.

[0063] The frame fixing member (124) has a nozzle support block (123) assembled on the upper surface and is coupled to the first bracket member (111a) of the base frame (110). This frame fixing member (124) is fixed to the first bracket member (111a) by fastening with a bolt, and two of them may be provided to fix the nozzle members (101a) on both sides of the hydrogen tank (101), respectively.

[0064] In particular, the frame fixing member (124) is provided with an angle member (124a) to facilitate assembly and fixation by a worker, and an angle reinforcing member (124b) is coupled to the angle member (124a) to enhance durability. When the angle member (124a) is fastened to the first bracket member (111a) via a bolt, an assembly opening (124c) is formed at both ends to facilitate fastening of the bolt. The assembly opening (124c) can be formed by forming both ends of the angle member (124a) to be inclined. This frame fixing member (124) has a “ㄷ” shape to reduce weight, and an angle reinforcing member (124b) is coupled therein to enhance durability.

[0065] The angle reinforcing member (124b) is joined to the inside of the angle member (124a) to prevent deformation of the angle member (124a).

[0066] The second tank fixing member (125) is connected to the second bracket member (118) of the tank mounting support member (115) so as to wrap around and fix the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101). This second tank fixing member (125) includes a tank fixing band (125a) that wraps around the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101), and a bolt member (125b) that penetrates the tank fixing band (125a) and is connected to the second bracket member (118) to secure the tank fixing band (125a). At this time, a fastening bracket (125c) for fastening the bolt member (125b) is formed at both ends of the tank fixing band (125a), and the bolt member (125b) may be provided by a spring bolt.

[0067] In addition, a pad member (127) may be attached to each of the tank support band (125a) and the tank fixing band portion (116) to prevent damage to the hydrogen tank (101) when fixing the hydrogen tank (101).

[0068] Meanwhile, in this embodiment, when using the tank mounting part (120), it is explained as an example that one of the first tank fixing part (111) and the second tank fixing part (125) is used, but the fixing force of the hydrogen tank (101) can be further improved by using both the first tank fixing part (111) and the second tank fixing part (125).

[0069] The laminated expansion support frame (130) according to the present embodiment can be coupled to the base frame (110) located at the lower side when a plurality of base frames (110) are laminated vertically, and can form a frame horizontal lamination part (130a) for laminating the base frame (110) together with the vertical support part (113). For example, the laminated expansion support frame (130) is formed to have the same height as the vertical support part (113), and forms a frame horizontal lamination part (130a) for laminating the horizontal support part by forming a pair with the vertical support part (113).

[0070] Specifically, the laminated expansion support frame (130) includes a vertical pipe member (131) that is coupled to a horizontal support member (111) of one base frame (110), and a laminated support pipe member (133) that is coupled to the vertical pipe member (131) so as to enable the lamination of another base frame (110). This laminated expansion support frame (130) is formed to correspond to the vertical support member (113) and can be coupled to the horizontal support member (111).

[0071] The laminated support pipe member (133) is paired with the vertical support member (113) of the base frame (110) to form a frame horizontal laminated member (130a).

[0072] In this way, the horizontal support part (111) of the base frame (110) can be laminated and fixed to the frame horizontal laminate part (130a) formed by the laminated expansion support frame (130) and the vertical support part (113). This can improve the space utilization of the base frame (110) that is laminated vertically.

[0073] The hydrogen tank fixing device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention configured as described above can selectively use tank mounting parts (120) of different fixing methods without changing the structure of the base frame (110) that fixes the hydrogen tank (101) according to the fixing method of the hydrogen tank (101), thereby improving versatility.

[0074] Specifically, the hydrogen tank fixing device (100) according to the present invention can fix the nozzle portion (101a) of the hydrogen tank (101) to the base frame (110) using the first tank fixing portion (111) fastened to the first bracket member (111a), or can fix the outer surface of the hydrogen tank (101) to the base frame (110) using the second tank fixing portion (125) coupled to the second bracket member (118). In this way, even if a tank mounting portion (120) of a completely different shape is used to fix another part of the hydrogen tank (101) to the base frame (110), it can be applied without changing the structure and shape of the base frame (110).

[0075] In addition, the hydrogen tank fixing device (100) according to the present invention combines the laminated expansion support frame (130) to the base frame (110) when laminating the base frame (110) to increase the quantity of hydrogen tanks (101), so that the base frame (110) can be laminated, and thus the number of hydrogen tanks (101) to be installed can be easily increased by adding a minimum number of parts. That is, since the laminated structure of the hydrogen tank (101) can be implemented with a simple structure according to the increase in the number of hydrogen tanks (101) to be installed, the assembling ability and versatility can be improved.

[0076] While the present invention has been described with reference to the embodiments illustrated in the drawings, these are merely exemplary, and those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and equivalent embodiments are possible. Therefore, the true scope of technical protection of the present invention should be defined by the claims below.
