Abstract
Description
Mesh knitted fabrics and textile products
[0001] The present invention relates to a mesh knitted fabric and a textile product in which the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases when wet, making the self-regulating function visible.
[0002] Conventionally, fabrics using yarns made of composite fibers in which a polyester component and a polyamide component are bonded side-by-side have been proposed as self-regulating fabrics that reversibly improve breathability when wet (Patent Documents 1 and 2). However, although these conventional fabrics have a self-regulating function, it is difficult to visually observe changes in the self-regulating function, such as the size of the mesh portion (voids).
[0003] JP 2006-97147 A International Publication No. 2017 / 038239 Pamphlet
[0004] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above background, and its object is to provide a mesh knitted fabric and a textile product in which the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases when wet, making the self-regulating function visible.
[0005] As a result of extensive research into achieving the above object, the inventors of the present invention noticed that by arranging yarns that expand in length when wet at the connecting portions between ground weave portions in a mesh knitted fabric, the area of the mesh portions (voids) increases when wet, and after further extensive research, they have completed the present invention. Thus, the following inventions are provided.

Any textile product selected from the group consisting of clothing, linings, interlinings, socks, belly warmers, hats, gloves, sleepwear, bedding coverings, bedding covers, and car seat covering materials, made using the mesh knitted fabric according to any one of claims 1 to 9 above.
[0007] According to the present invention, a mesh knitted fabric and a textile product can be obtained in which the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases when wet, and the self-regulating function can be visually observed.
[0008] 1 is a knitting structure diagram used in Example 1. FIG. 2 is a knitting structure diagram used in Comparative Example 1. FIG. 3 is a knitting structure diagram used in Example 1.
[0009] The present invention provides a mesh knitted fabric (hereinafter, also referred to as "fabric") having mesh portions (voids), which includes a yarn made of a composite fiber in which a polyester component and a polyamide component are bonded side-by-side, and the area of the mesh portions increases when wet compared to before wetting.
[0010] As shown schematically in Fig. 3, the mesh knitted fabric of the present invention includes a mesh portion, a ground weave portion, and a connecting portion. The connecting portions are positioned so as to sandwich the mesh portion and connect the ground weave portions. By arranging the composite fiber yarn in the connecting portions, when the mesh knitted fabric becomes wet, the composite fiber yarn expands in the horizontal direction (direction of the arrow), and the mesh portion also expands in the horizontal direction accordingly, which can be seen visually.
[0011] Here, the mesh portion is formed, for example, by removing the yarn from the reed when knitting the warp knitted fabric, and creating a portion between the wales that is not connected by a loop. Specifically, by arranging the yarn made of the composite fiber in the connecting portion and arranging the yarn made of the composite fiber at the end of the mesh portion without connecting it, a mesh structure in which the mesh portion is surrounded by the yarn made of the composite fiber is obtained.
[0012] The size of each mesh portion (void) is preferably within the range of 2 to 12 courses (more preferably 2 to 8 courses) and 1 wale or more (more preferably 1 to 4 wales).
[0013] In the above-mentioned composite fiber, preferred examples of the polyester component include modified polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene terephthalate, and polybutylene terephthalate, which are copolymerized with a compound having an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulfonic acid, a phosphonium salt, or the like, and one or more functional groups capable of forming an ester, in terms of adhesiveness with the counterpart polyamide component. Among these, modified polyethylene terephthalate, in which the above-mentioned compound is copolymerized, is particularly preferred in terms of versatility and polymer cost. Examples of copolymerization components include 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid and its ester derivatives, 5-phosphonium isophthalic acid and its ester derivatives, and sodium p-hydroxybenzenesulfonate. Of these, 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid is preferred. The copolymerization amount is preferably in the range of 2.0 to 4.5 mol %. If the copolymerization amount is less than 2.0 mol %, excellent crimping performance can be obtained, but peeling may occur at the bonding interface between the polyamide component and the polyester component. On the other hand, if the copolymerization amount is greater than 4.5 mol%, crystallization of the polyester component becomes difficult to proceed during the stretching heat treatment, so that the stretching heat treatment temperature must be increased, which may result in frequent yarn breakage.
[0014] On the other hand, the polyamide component is not particularly limited as long as it has an amide bond in the main chain, and examples thereof include nylon 4, nylon 6, nylon 66, nylon 46, and nylon 12. Among these, nylon 6 and nylon 66 are preferred in terms of versatility, polymer cost, and spinning stability.
[0015] The polyester component and the polyamide component may contain known additives such as pigments, matting agents, antifouling agents, fluorescent whitening agents, flame retardants, stabilizers, antistatic agents, light-resistant agents, and ultraviolet absorbers.
[0016] The side-by-side bonded composite fibers can have any cross-sectional shape and composite form. They may be eccentric sheath-core type. Furthermore, they may be triangular or rectangular, or may have a hollow portion within the cross section. Of these, a side-by-side type with a round cross-sectional shape of the single fiber is preferred. The composite ratio of the two components can be selected arbitrarily, but it is preferable that the weight ratio of the two components is within the range of 30:70 to 70:30 (more preferably 40:60 to 60:40).
[0017] In the yarn made of the composite fiber, the single fiber fineness and the number of filaments (number of single fibers) are not particularly limited, but it is preferable that the single fiber fineness is within the range of 0.1 to 10 dtex (more preferably 0.8 to 3.5 dtex) and the number of filaments is within the range of 10 to 200 (more preferably 20 to 100). In particular, it is preferable that the multifilament (long fiber) has a single fiber fineness of 0.8 to 3.5 dtex and a total fineness of 20 to 110 dtex.
[0018] Conjugated fibers in which different polymers are bonded side-by-side usually have latent crimping properties, which are manifested by heat treatment during dyeing or other processes, as described below. The crimp structure preferably has the polyamide component located on the inside of the crimp and the polyester component located on the outside of the crimp. When a conjugated fiber has such a crimping structure, the inner polyamide component swells and expands when wet, while the outer polyester component undergoes almost no change in length, resulting in a decrease in the crimp percentage (the apparent length of the conjugated fiber increases). On the other hand, when dry, the inner polyamide component shrinks, while the outer polyester component undergoes almost no change in length, resulting in an increase in the crimp percentage (the apparent length of the conjugated fiber decreases).
[0019] The yarn made from the composite fiber is preferably a non-twisted yarn or a loosely twisted yarn with a twist of 300 T / m or less, so that crimping can be easily reduced when wet and breathability can be effectively improved. A non-twisted yarn is particularly preferable. If a strong twist is imparted, as in a hard-twisted yarn, crimping may be difficult to reduce when wet. It is acceptable to subject the yarn to air interlacing and / or conventional false twist crimping processing so that the number of entanglements is approximately 20 to 100 / m (more preferably 20 to 60 / m). The yarn made from the composite fiber can be produced by the method described in International Publication WO 2017 / 038239.
[0020] In the mesh knitted fabric of the present invention, the yarn arranged in the ground structure portion is not particularly limited and may be a non-crimped yarn or a false-twisted crimped yarn. For example, it may be a composite yarn (crimped fiber) containing a false-twisted crimped yarn having torque in the S direction and a false-twisted crimped yarn having torque in the Z direction. Such a composite yarn is also described in WO 2017 / 038239. When the ground structure portion is formed using such a composite yarn, the surface of the knitted fabric becomes flat, improving snagging resistance, which is preferable.
[0021] The yarns arranged in the ground weave portion preferably have a single fiber fineness of 2.3 dtex or less (preferably 0.00002 to 2.0 dtex, particularly preferably 0.1 to 1.0 dtex). The smaller the single fiber fineness, the better, and nanofibers with a single fiber diameter of 1000 nm or less, known as nanofibers, may be used. If the single fiber fineness is greater than 2.3 dtex, water absorption may decrease, and the rate of change in breathability when wet may decrease. It is preferable that the single fiber fineness be smaller than the single fiber fineness of the composite fiber. Furthermore, the total fineness of the yarns arranged in the ground weave portion is preferably within the range of 33 to 220 dtex. Furthermore, the number of filaments in the yarns arranged in the ground weave portion is preferably within the range of 30 to 300 (more preferably 40 to 200).
[0022] The cross-sectional shape of the single fiber of the yarn arranged in the ground weave portion may be a normal round cross-section, or may be an irregular cross-sectional shape other than a round cross-section. Examples of such irregular cross-sectional shapes include triangular, square, cross-shaped, flat, constricted flat, H-shaped, and W-shaped. In this case, from the viewpoint of softness of the fabric, it is preferable that the cross-sectional flatness, expressed as the ratio B / C1 of the length B in the longitudinal centerline direction to the maximum width C1 in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline direction, is within the range of 2 to 6 (more preferably 3.1 to 5.0). Furthermore, from the viewpoint of water absorbency of the fabric, it is preferable that the ratio C1 / C2 of the maximum width C1 to the minimum width C2 is within the range of 1.05 to 4.00 (more preferably 1.1 to 1.5).
[0023] The fibers constituting the yarns arranged in the ground weave portion are not particularly limited, and polyester fibers, acrylic fibers, nylon fibers, rayon fibers, acetate fibers, and natural fibers such as cotton, wool, and silk, as well as composites of these fibers, can be used. In particular, polyester fibers made of the above-mentioned polyesters are preferred.
[0024] The mesh knitted fabric of the present invention may be a circular knitted fabric, but is preferably a warp knitted fabric. In this case, suitable examples of the structure of the ground structure portion include pique, denbigh, half, etc. In the mesh knitted fabric of the present invention, for example, it is preferable to knit a mesh knitted fabric using a yarn made of the composite fiber and a yarn arranged in the ground structure portion, and then to express the crimp of the composite fiber by heat treatment such as dyeing processing.
[0025] In this case, the dyeing temperature is preferably 100 to 140°C (more preferably 110 to 135°C), and the time required to maintain the top temperature is preferably within a range of 5 to 40 minutes. By dyeing the mesh knitted fabric under these conditions, the composite fiber develops crimps due to the difference in thermal shrinkage between the polyester component and the polyamide component. In this case, by selecting the above-mentioned polymers as the polyester component and the polyamide component, a crimped structure is obtained in which the polyamide component is located on the inside of the crimp.
[0026] It is preferable to subject the dyed mesh knit fabric to a final dry heat set. The temperature for the final dry heat set is preferably 120 to 200°C (more preferably 140 to 180°C), and the time is preferably within the range of 1 to 3 minutes. If the temperature for the final dry heat set is lower than 120°C, wrinkles generated during the dyeing process are likely to remain, and the dimensional stability of the finished product may be poor. Conversely, if the temperature for the final dry heat set is higher than 200°C, the crimp of the composite fiber generated during the dyeing process may decrease, or the fiber may harden, resulting in a stiff texture of the fabric.
[0027] Furthermore, it is preferable that the mesh knit fabric of the present invention has been subjected to a water-absorbing treatment. By applying a water-absorbing treatment, breathability is likely to be improved even with a small amount of sweat. Such a water-absorbing treatment may be a conventional water-absorbing treatment, and a preferred example is attaching a water-absorbing agent such as polyethylene glycol diacrylate or a derivative thereof, or a polyethylene terephthalate-polyethylene glycol copolymer to the mesh knit fabric in an amount of 0.25 to 0.50% by weight based on the weight of the mesh knit fabric. Examples of water-absorbing treatment methods include an in-bath treatment method in which a water-absorbing agent is mixed with the dye liquor during dyeing, a method in which the fabric is dipped in a water-absorbing treatment solution and wringed out with a mangle before the final dry heat set, and application-based treatment methods such as gravure coating and screen printing.
[0028] Furthermore, the weight ratio of the composite fiber yarn to the yarn arranged in the ground weave portion (composite fiber yarn: ground weave yarn) is preferably within the range of 5:95 to 30:70. The mesh knitted fabric of the present invention is preferably composed only of the composite fiber and the composite yarn (crimped fiber), but may further contain other fibers (for example, non-crimped polyester multifilament).
[0029] In the mesh knitted fabric of the present invention, the basis weight is 250 g / m 2 or less (preferably 50 to 250 g / m 2 , particularly preferably 110 to 190 g / m 2 ) It is preferable that the basis weight is 250 g / m 2If it is larger than this, the weight of the mesh knitted fabric may be heavy, which may impair comfort when worn, and the mobility (crimp change) of the composite fiber in the mesh knitted fabric may be impaired. Furthermore, the knitted fabric density is preferably 20 to 100 courses / 2.54 cm and 20 to 80 wales / 2.54 cm. In particular, when the knitted fabric density is within this range and the size of the mesh portion (voids) is within the above range, the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases to a level that is visible when wet, which is preferable because the self-regulating function can be visually observed.
[0030] In the mesh knitted fabric thus obtained, when the yarn made of the composite fiber is arranged in the connecting section connecting the adjacent ground weave sections as shown in Fig. 3, the composite fiber expands in the horizontal direction when wet, and the mesh section also expands in the horizontal direction accordingly. As a result, the breathability of the mesh knitted fabric is reversibly improved, and this effect can be visually confirmed by the expansion of the mesh section.
[0031] Here, the expansion of the area of the mesh portion may be sufficient as long as it can be confirmed visually, but it is preferable that the mesh area when wet is 1.1 times or more (more preferably 1.1 to 20 times, and particularly preferably 2 to 10 times) compared to before wetting.
[0032] Furthermore, it is preferable that the rate of change in air permeability shown by the following formula is 5% or more (more preferably 50 to 500%). However, the air permeability is a value (c.f.m.) measured in accordance with JIS L1096-2010, 8.26.1, Method A (Fragile type method) (measuring pressure is changed from 125 Pa as specified in JIS to 20 Pa). Rate of change in air permeability (%) = (((air permeability when wet) - (air permeability when dry)) / (air permeability when dry)) x 100
[0033] The dry state refers to the state after the sample has been left in an environment with a temperature of 20°C and a humidity of 65% RH for 24 hours, while the wet state refers to the state after the sample has been uniformly saturated with 50% by weight of water relative to the fabric weight and then left for 1 minute. The breathability of each state (n=5) was measured and the average was calculated.
[0034] If the rate of change in air permeability is less than 5%, there is a risk that the problem of stuffiness may occur when sweating. Note that, after one washing according to JIS L0217-1995, Method 103, it is preferable that the rate of change in air permeability is 10% or more (more preferably 30 to 500%, particularly preferably 50 to 100%).
[0035] It is also preferable that the absolute value of the dimensional change rate of the fabric is 10% or less in the vertical direction and / or 15% or less in the horizontal direction. In particular, it is preferable that the absolute value is -3 to +3% (more preferably -2 to +2%) in both the vertical and horizontal directions. The dimensional change rate of the fabric is expressed by the following formula: Fabric dimensional change rate (%) = (((wet dimension) - (dry dimension)) / (dry dimension)) x 100
[0036] However, when dry, the dimensions are (20cm long x 2.5cm wide = 50cm 2 The wet state refers to the state of a sample after it has been left in an environment with a temperature of 20°C and a humidity of 65% RH for 24 hours. Five samples are prepared in both the longitudinal and transverse directions and measured. Meanwhile, the wet state refers to the state of a sample immediately after it has been immersed in water at 20°C for 10 minutes and after it has been hung in the longitudinal direction for 5 minutes. The fabric dimensions (number of samples = 5) are measured and the average is calculated.
[0037] If the dimensional change rate of the fabric is greater than the above range, the comfort of wearing and the appearance of the mesh knitted fabric when it is used as a textile product may be impaired. It is preferable that the dimensional change rate of the fabric is 10% or less in the warp direction and / or 15% or less in the weft direction after one washing according to JIS L0217-1995, Method 103.
[0038] In addition to the above-mentioned processing, the mesh knitted fabric of the present invention may be subjected to various additional processing such as conventional brushing processing, ultraviolet shielding, or processing to impart functions such as antibacterial agents, deodorizers, insect repellents, luminescent agents, retroreflective agents, negative ion generators, and water repellents.
[0039] Furthermore, according to the present invention, there is provided a textile product selected from the group consisting of clothing, linings, interlinings, socks, belly warmers, hats, gloves, sleepwear, bedding coverings, bedding covers, and car seat covering materials, which uses the mesh knit fabric. Because such textile products use the fabric, the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases when wet, making the self-regulating function visible.
[0040] The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples. The physical properties in the examples were measured by the following methods.
[0041] (1) Intrinsic Viscosity of Polyester: Measured at 35°C using orthochlorophenol as a solvent.
[0042] (2) Intrinsic Viscosity of Polyamide: Measured at 30°C using m-cresol as a solvent.
[0043] (3) Washing and drying: Wash once according to JIS L0217-1995, Method 103. Also, dry using a tumbler according to JIS L1096-2010, 8.24.1, Method A1-2.3.
[0044] (4) Percentage change in breathability This is a value (c.f.m.) measured in accordance with JIS L1096-2010, 8.26.1, Method A (Fragile method) (the measurement pressure is changed from 125 Pa as specified in JIS to 20 Pa). Note that "dry" refers to the state after the sample has been left in an environment with a temperature of 20°C and a humidity of 65% RH for 24 hours, while "wet" refers to the state after the sample has been uniformly saturated with 50% by weight of water relative to the fabric weight and then left for 1 minute. The permeability (number of samples = 5) is measured and the average is calculated. The permeability change is then calculated using the following formula: Percentage change in breathability (%) = (((wet permeability) - (dry permeability)) / (dry permeability)) x 100
[0045] (5) Dimensional change rate: Measure the vertical (horizontal) dimensions when dry and when wet. Note that the dry dimension is the dimension (vertical 20 cm x horizontal 2.5 cm = 50 cm). 2) after being left in an environment with a temperature of 20°C and a humidity of 65% RH for 24 hours. Five samples are prepared in both the vertical and horizontal directions and measured. Meanwhile, the wet state refers to the state of the sample immediately after immersing it in water at 20°C for 10 minutes and after hanging it in the lengthwise direction for 5 minutes. The fabric dimensions (number of samples = 5) are measured and the average is calculated. The rate of change in fabric dimensions is then calculated using the following formula: Rate of change in fabric dimensions (%) = (((wet dimensions) - (dry dimensions)) / (dry dimensions)) x 100
[0046] (6) Dimensional change rate before and after washing The vertical (horizontal) dimensions before washing and the vertical (horizontal) dimensions during washing are measured. Then, the dimensional change rate of the fabric is calculated using the following formula: Dimensional change rate (%) = ((dimension before washing) - (dimension after washing)) / (dimension before washing) x 100
[0047] (7) Basis Weight: Measured according to JIS L1018-1998 6.4.
[0048] (8) Spreading of Mesh Portion After leaving the sample in an environment of 20°C temperature and 65% RH for 24 hours, the area of the mesh portion was measured using an optical microscope. After uniformly soaking the sample in a moisture content of 50% by weight relative to the fabric weight and leaving it for 1 minute, the area of the mesh was measured using an optical microscope to determine how many times the area of the mesh portion had increased when wet compared to before wetting. An average was calculated for three samples. In addition, if the mesh could be visually confirmed to have spread when wet, it was evaluated as "Good", and if not, it was evaluated as "Poor".
[0049] Example 1 As yarn type 1 (for ground weave), semi-dull polyester multifilament 44 dtex / 48 strands was prepared. On the other hand, nylon 6 having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 1.3 and modified polyethylene terephthalate having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.39 copolymerized with 2.6 mol % of 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid were melted at 270°C and 290°C, respectively, and extruded at a throughput rate of 12.7 g / min using a conjugate spinneret similar to that shown in Figure 1 of JP2000-144518A to form conjugate fibers having a side-by-side single yarn cross section. The fibers were cooled and solidified, and an oil was added. The yarn was then preheated at a speed of 1000 m / min with a preheating roller at a temperature of 60°C, and then subjected to a drawing heat treatment between the preheating roller and a heating roller heated to a temperature of 150°C and at a speed of 3050 m / min, and then wound up to obtain a yarn made of conjugate fibers (total fineness 84 dtex / 24 yarns), which was designated as yarn type 2 (for connecting portions).
[0050] Next, using a 28 gauge warp knitting machine, yarns were let out in the following order as shown in Figure 1: yarn type 1: 13 in 1 out (10 / 12), yarn type 1: 13 in 1 out (12 / 10), and yarn type 2: 11 out 2 in 1 out (9 repeats of 10 / 45, 2 repeats of 10 / 12), to knit a warp knitted fabric (mesh knitted fabric) having a mesh structure (each mesh portion having a size of 4 courses, 1 wale).
[0051] The warp knitted fabric was then dyed at 130°C for 15 minutes to bring out the potential crimping performance of the composite fiber. A water-absorbing agent (polyethylene terephthalate-polyethylene glycol copolymer) was added to the dye liquor at a ratio of 2 ml / l to the dye liquor during dyeing, thereby imparting the agent to the knitted fabric. The warp knitted fabric was then subjected to a final dry heat set at 160°C for 1 minute.
[0052] The obtained knitted fabric had excellent breathability change function and dimensional stability when wet. Furthermore, the expansion of the mesh portion when wet was visually confirmed (the area of the mesh portion when wet was 4.12 times larger than before wet). The evaluation results are shown in Table 1. Furthermore, when clothing was made using such knitted fabric and worn, it was found to have excellent breathability change function and dimensional stability when wet.
[0053] [Example 2] Polyethylene terephthalate (matting agent content: 0.3 wt%) was melt-spun at 280°C using a conventional spinning apparatus, taken up at a speed of 2800 m / min, and wound up without stretching to obtain a semi-stretched polyester yarn (total fineness: 56 dtex / 24 fibers, single fiber cross section: round cross section). This polyester yarn was then subjected to simultaneous draw-false-twist crimping under the conditions of a draw ratio of 1.6, a false twist number of 2500 T / m (S direction), a heater temperature of 180°C, and a yarn speed of 350 m / min.
[0054] The polyester yarn was also subjected to simultaneous draw-false-twist crimping under conditions of a draw ratio of 1.6, a false twist number of 2,500 T / m (Z direction), a heater temperature of 180°C, and a yarn speed of 350 m / min. Next, these false twist crimped yarns having torque in the S direction and false twist crimped yarns having torque in the Z direction were combined and subjected to air entanglement to obtain a composite yarn (total fineness of 66 dtex / 48 yarns) designated as Yarn Type 1.
[0055] Next, the same yarn type 2 as in Example 1 was obtained, and a warp knitted fabric (mesh knitted fabric) having a mesh structure (each mesh portion had a size of 4 courses and 1 wale) was knitted in the same manner as in Example 1, except that the knitted fabric density in Example 1 was changed as shown in Table 1. The knitted fabric obtained had excellent breathability change function and dimensional stability when wet. In addition, the expansion of the mesh portion when wet could be visually confirmed (the area of the mesh portion when wet was 2.42 times larger than before wet). The evaluation results are shown in Table 1. In addition, when clothing was obtained and worn using this knitted fabric, it was found to have excellent breathability change function and dimensional stability when wet.
[0056] [Comparative Example 1] Semi-dull polyester multifilament 110 dtex / 144 strands was prepared as yarn type 1. Meanwhile, yarn type 2 was obtained, which was the same as in Example 1. Next, using a 28-gauge circular knitting machine, yarn type 1 and yarn type 2 were aligned to knit a circular knitted fabric with a smooth structure (without a mesh portion) as shown in Figure 2.
[0057] The circular knitted fabric was then dyed at 130°C for 15 minutes to reveal the potential crimping properties of the composite fiber. A water-absorbing agent (polyethylene terephthalate-polyethylene glycol copolymer) was added to the knitted fabric at a ratio of 2 ml / l of the dye liquor by performing a co-dyeing process during the dyeing process. The circular knitted fabric was then subjected to a final dry heat set at 160°C for 1 minute. The resulting circular knitted fabric had excellent breathability-changing properties and dimensional stability upon wetting, but no self-regulating properties could be visually confirmed when wet. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.
[0058]
[0059] According to the present invention, a mesh knitted fabric and a textile product are provided in which the area of the mesh portion reversibly increases when wet, and the self-regulating function is visible, and the industrial value thereof is extremely great.
