Description

Description Title of Invention :

[0001] Portable device for applying markings, in particular to a wood log faceTechnical Field

[0002] The object of the invention is a device for applying markings, in particular to a wood log face, in particular immediately after its felling. Background Art

[0003] From the description of patent application WO2022194541 A1 there is known a hand-held power tool, in particular a router and / or trimmer, used on a workpiece. This tool has a battery pack which is intended to provide energy to an electric drive motor. A support device is provided for guiding a machine housing on the workpiece. The support device consists of a support section for the machine housing, with a foot plate provided thereon for contacting the workpiece. The foot plate consists of a passage for an insert tool. The battery pack is arranged in a first machine section. The electric drive motor is arranged in a second machine section, and a handle for a user is arranged in a third machine section in some sections. The three machine sections are arranged next to one another along a transverse axis which is aligned at a predetermined angle perpendicularly to the output shaft of the drive motor.

[0004] From patent description GB2365817B there is known a hand-controlled electric tool comprising a basic body with a reference face and a rotatably driven cutting head having at least one blade, the plane of engagement of which in relation to the reference face defines the cuffing depth. An engagement control allows the cutting depth to be variable between a minimum value or zero, and a maximum value counter to a force, in particular the action of a spring.

[0005] From the description of patent application US20100018609A1 there is known a power tool whose primary power drive means is provided with a motor rotating a fastening assembly which holds an operative element, which treats the face of a workpiece, about an operative axis. A secondary power drive means is provided with a motor which moves the fastening assembly in the direction of the operative axis relative to a base positionable in use adjacent the workpiece. Atool such as a plunging type router has an electronic control means with associated user controls located on handles to enable user operation of the secondary power drive means.

[0006] From the description of patent application GB2375320A there is known a plunge router for a workpiece, e.g. wood, which receives signals about the axial position of the router bit and input signals on the basis of received information on a display means, for controlling the cutting operation of the router bit. In this solution, a housing assembly has a drive motor for driving a shaft connected to the router bit. A processing means receives signals about the axial position of the router bit and input signals for operating the router from an operator. The processing means generates control signals for controlling the depth of cut of the router bit into the workpiece and the speed of operation of the motor, and generates information signals relating to the operation of the router to be displayed on the basis of the received signals.

[0007] From the description of patent application EP3294503A1 there is known a system to position the working member, e.g. of a cutting tool for metal, comprising a computing device for determining the z-axis position of the working member relative to a working surface based on the difference between a first value and a second value greater than a threshold.

[0008] From the description of patent application W02019210460A1 there is known a portable machine tool of a machine tool system for machining, e.g. a metal workpiece, comprising a controller adjusted to control a drive means and a machining mechanism, so as to machine the workpiece based on a predetermined machining pattern. The machine tool has a movement means for enabling the machine tool to move on the workpiece. The drive means is provided for driving the movement means. The machining mechanism is arranged to hold a tool element in order to operate the tool element for machining the workpiece, and to operate the tool element to selectively engage the tool element with the workpiece. The controller is arranged to control the drive means and the machining mechanism so as to machine the workpiece based on a predetermined machining pattern. A position sensor is operably connected to the controller, and arranged to detect reference markers arranged on or around the workpiece to determine a position of the machine tool on the workpiece.Technical Problem

[0009] The technical problem to be solved is efficient, ecological, precise, unique and consumable-free application of markings to materials subjected to processing like drilling / routing / hot branding, preferably wood logs, possible to perform under field conditions. In particular, this marking will enable the application of a code unique for the marking site. This marking should proceed by means of an automatic, fully portable and easily operable device, in a manner not requiring training or complicated procedures, and be also possible to perform by low-skilled workers. It is also important that the generation of unique markings and their application onto the material undergoing marking should take place in real time, fully automatically, with the elimination of any errors which could be caused by the human factor.Solution to Problem

[0010] The object of the invention is a portable device for applying markings to a wood log face, having a body, which has a numerically controlled working head assembly attached thereto, comprising carriages, sliding bearing assemblies seated on linear guideways, and drive screws connected to stepper motors. The working head assembly has a machining tool attached thereto. The stepper motors are connected to a control module. The essence of the device is in that the control module is connected to an electric code generator connected to a satellite navigation system.

[0011] Optionally, the machining tool is a router bit or a drill bit mounted in a spindle connected to an electric motor shaft, or the machining tool is a laser head. It is additionally advisable for the front surface of the platform to have spikes.Advantageous Effects of InventionThe preferable effects of using the invention are:- the ability to use a very wide range of graphical, alphanumeric markings arranged in any configuration programmed by means of an interface available in the device,- easiness and simplicity of applying a unique code to the material undergoing marking in an automatic manner under field conditions,- significant reduction in the material marking costs by complete elimination of consumables necessary for marking, like, e.g. paints, plastic labels, RFID, barcodes, QR, and the like,- resistance of a marking using a unique routed or drilled code to atmospheric conditions and the passage of time; the code cannot be separated from the material; the markings cannot be broken or lost.Brief Description of Drawings
