Description

[0001] System steamer for a cooking appliance, system comprising a system steamer and a cooking appliance, and method for forming a system steamer

[0002] Description

[0003] Technical area

[0004] The present invention relates to a multi-part system steamer for a cooking appliance. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a system comprising the system steamer and the cooking appliance.

[0005] Cooking appliances in various forms, such as ovens, steam cookers, microwave cookers or combination appliances, are used daily in households.

[0006] Particularly in households where there is only a single cooking appliance, usually in the form of a conventional oven, there is a desire to achieve the functionality of a steam cooking appliance without having to accept the additional costs and additional space requirements of a single, separately designed steam cooking appliance.

[0007] State of the art

[0008] There are various inserts for cooking appliances on the market to solve this problem.

[0009] DE 102010 063 876 A1 discloses a steam treatment insert for detachable insertion into a cooking chamber of a cooking appliance. The steam treatment insert includes a heater and a liquid container, wherein the heater is configured to heat the liquid container and evaporate the water from the liquid container.

[0010] DE 102021 212 763 A1 discloses a system steam cooker with a base tray and a separate, tray-shaped lid that can be placed on the base tray. The base tray and the lid form a steam chamber into which food can be placed, for example, on at least one food carrier. A disadvantage of the prior art inserts is that they are only suitable for steam cooking applications and take up a lot of storage space during the remaining unused time. This is particularly disadvantageous in kitchens where only a single cooking appliance is installed due to space constraints.

[0011] Brief description of the invention

[0012] The object of the present invention is therefore to eliminate or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art. Specifically, the object of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional insert for a variety of cooking applications, which at least also has the functionality of a steam cooking appliance.

[0013] This object is achieved by a system steam cooker according to independent claim 1. Advantageous further developments are described in the subclaims and below.

[0014] Specifically, the problem is solved by a system steam cooker for a cooking appliance having: a base tray, preferably made of enamelled sheet metal, which is provided and designed to hold water; a food carrier, preferably made of stainless steel, which can be placed in or on the base tray and is provided and designed to support food to be cooked; and a lid, preferably made of glass, which is provided and designed to close the food carrier. The base tray, the food carrier and the lid have essentially identical dimensions in a width direction, preferably matched to a rail width of the cooking appliance, such that the base tray can be used individually as a baking tray and / or the food carrier can be used individually as a deep-frying basket and / or the lid can be used as a glass bowl when inverted.

[0015] In other words, the problem is solved by the system steam cooker, which includes the base tray, the food support and the lid. The base tray is a rectangular, one-piece tray made of sheet metal, with a (first) base, a (first) wall extending circumferentially away from the base, essentially perpendicular, and a circumferential (first) supporting edge. The base tray is preferably enamelled. Alternatively, it is conceivable to make the base tray from stainless steel. The base tray has a width dimension and a depth dimension. The width dimension is to be understood as a first dimension in a direction parallel to the base, and the depth dimension is to be understood as a second dimension in a direction parallel to the base, which is oriented perpendicular to the width dimension. The width dimension is selected such that the base tray can be inserted into guide rails orTelescopic rails of the cooking appliance can be inserted / pushed in.

[0016] The food carrier is a rectangular, one-piece stainless steel tray with a (second) base, a (second) wall extending circumferentially from the base, essentially perpendicular, and a circumferential (second) supporting edge. Alternatively, it is conceivable for the food carrier to be made of sheet metal and coated / enameled. A perforation, preferably in the form of holes distributed (evenly and / or in a pattern) over the base, is formed in the base of the food carrier. Alternatively, slots, elongated holes, or the like can be conceivable as perforations in the base of the food carrier. The food carrier can be inserted into the base tray and has a width dimension and a depth dimension. At least the width dimension of the food carrier essentially corresponds to the width dimension of the base tray.Preferably, the depth of the food support can also be essentially the same as the depth of the base tray. In the context of the dimensions, the term "essentially" means that the width and / or depth of the base tray and the food support differ by only a few millimeters.

[0017] To ensure the food support can be inserted into the base tray, the walls of the base tray and the walls of the food support can be beveled / tapered. In other words, the included angle between the respective base and the respective wall can be (slightly) greater than 90°.

[0018] The lid is a rectangular, one-piece hood, preferably made of glass. Alternatively, it is conceivable to construct the lid from sheet metal or stainless steel. It is also conceivable to construct the lid from a heat-resistant plastic or silicone. The lid includes a cover surface / cover wall, a (third) wall extending circumferentially away from the cover surface, essentially perpendicular, and a circumferential lid edge. The lid can be placed onto the food carrier. In other words, the lid edge can be positioned on the support edge of the food carrier. The lid has a width dimension and a depth dimension. At least the width dimension of the lid essentially corresponds to the width dimension of the food carrier. Preferably, the depth dimension of the lid can also essentially correspond to the depth dimension of the food carrier. When referring to the dimensions, the term “essentially” also means that the width and / or depth dimensions of the lid and the food support differ by only a few millimeters.

[0019] The core of the invention is therefore that the dimensions of the base tray, the food support and the lid are essentially identical in a plan view, so that all three components of the system steam cooker can also be used individually in the cooking chamber of a cooking appliance, in particular in a rail system of the cooking appliance.

[0020] In this way, the three components can fulfill additional cooking tasks. The base tray can be used as a regular baking tray or as a roasting pan; the food support can be used as a frying basket, particularly for hot air frying applications in a conventional oven, or as a drying tray / perforated tray; and the lid, particularly in the inverted state, can be used as a (glass) bowl or as a casserole dish. The inverted state refers to a state in which the top surface acts as a support surface for the lid, and the wall of the lid extends essentially vertically upwards away from it.

[0021] In one aspect, the base tray may include a first base, a circumferential first wall, and a circumferential first support edge formed on the first wall, which is provided and configured to support the food carrier at a distance from the first base.

[0022] In other words, in the inserted state, i.e., in the state in which the food support is inserted into the base tray, a gap can be formed between the bottom of the base tray and the bottom of the food support. Preferably, the gap is large enough to accommodate water that is to be evaporated during the steaming process without touching the food on the food support.

[0023] This design ensures even steam production in the system steam cooker. Furthermore, it ensures that the food is cooked gently and only with superheated steam.

[0024] In a further aspect, the food carrier may include the second wall which extends away from the second, preferably perforated, base of the food carrier, wherein the second wall includes, at least in sections, a step oriented substantially parallel to the base, which step is provided and designed to rest on the first support edge of the base tray.

[0025] In other words, the food support can include a step in the second wall, which divides the second wall, at least in sections, into an upper wall section and a lower wall section. The step causes a substantially abrupt change in the cross-sectional area of the food support parallel to the second base. Specifically, the step can cause the cross-sectional area of the food support to increase abruptly in a direction away from the second base. In a preferred embodiment, the step can be formed circumferentially in the second wall.

[0026] Such a step allows the predefined distance between the first base and the second base to be predetermined in the inserted state and to be adjusted independently of the height of the food support. Furthermore, a vertical extension of the food support in the height direction, starting from the first support edge, can be configured, in particular, in the form of the upper wall section.

[0027] In a further aspect, the food carrier can include the second, preferably perforated, base, the circumferential second wall and the circumferential second support edge formed on the second wall, which is provided and designed to support the lid at a distance from the base tray, wherein a grip distance between the base tray and the lid is formed by the food carrier.

[0028] In other words, in an assembled state of the system steam cooker, i.e. in a state in which the food carrier is inserted or placed in / on the base tray and the lid is placed on the food carrier and closes the system steam cooker, the handle distance is formed between the first support edge and the second support edge.

[0029] The distance between the first support edge and the second support edge allows for easy lifting of the food support from the base tray, while also ensuring that the system steam cooker can be easily inserted into the guide rails of the cooking appliance with the first support edge without the second support edge colliding with the guide rails of the cooking appliance. In another aspect, the grip distance can be large enough for a user's fingers to easily fit into the grip distance. Specifically, the grip distance can be 1.5 cm or greater.

[0030] In a further aspect, the second supporting edge may include at least one, at least partially, circumferential edge which is provided and designed to fix the lid in a direction parallel to the second base, preferably in a form-fitting manner.

[0031] In other words, the second support edge can be formed with an edge extending in the vertical direction, i.e., perpendicular to the second base. The edge can be formed on the outer periphery of the second support edge such that it positively fixes the lid in a direction parallel to the second base. The vertical extension of the edge can essentially correspond to a material thickness of the lid. The edge can be formed at least in corner sections of the second support edge.

[0032] The rim ensures that the lid does not slip off the food support when handling the system steamer. Furthermore, the rim can increase the sealing effect between the food support and the lid, thus reducing steam leakage between the lid and food support into the cooking chamber surrounding the system steamer.

[0033] In a further aspect, the circumferential second support edge of the food carrier can have at least one recess that allows the lid to be lifted.

[0034] In other words, the second supporting edge can have at least one recess in the form of a recess in a direction parallel to the second base, starting from the circumference. Preferably, two recesses are formed in the second supporting edge. In particular, the two recesses can be formed on opposite sides of the second supporting edge, so that a uniform lifting of the lid from the food carrier is facilitated. Preferably, the at least one recess can be trapezoidal. In a further aspect, the lid can include the circumferential, preferably conical, third wall and a cover surface and can be nestable in the base tray and / or in the food carrier.

[0035] In other words, the enclosed angle between the cover surface and the third wall can be greater than 90°. The enclosed angle can be selected such that the lid, in the inverted / upside-down state, can be nested in the base tray and / or in the food carrier. When nested in the food carrier, the edge of the lid can rest on the second support edge and / or the cover surface of the lid can stand on the second base of the food carrier.

[0036] This design allows the system steamer to be stored in a space-saving manner.

[0037] In a further aspect, the base shell may include at least one, preferably two, gripping edge(s).

[0038] In other words, the base shell can have at least one gripping edge in the form of bent sheet metal sections on the first supporting edge, preferably on a periphery. The at least one gripping edge is preferably formed on a long side of the base shell, i.e., on a wide section. In the advantageous embodiment of the base shell with the two gripping edges, the two gripping edges are preferably formed on opposite sides of the base shell.

[0039] Such a grip edge allows the base tray or system steamer to be easily pulled out of the cooking appliance. Furthermore, it ensures a secure grip for the user, especially when the system steamer is heavy and filled with water and food.

[0040] In a further aspect, the lid may include the flat cover surface, which acts as a base for the lid in the inverted state.

[0041] In other words, the cover surface of the lid can be configured substantially parallel to a plane, allowing the lid to stand securely without tipping or wobbling. In another aspect, the width of the base tray can differ from the width of the lid and / or the width of the food support by a maximum of 10 mm, preferably by a maximum of 5 mm.

[0042] In a further aspect, the lid may include drip spouts on a side facing away from the base, which allow condensate to drip off.

[0043] In another aspect, the width of the system steamer may be greater than the depth of the system steamer. In other words, the width of the base tray, the food support, and the lid may be greater than the depth of the base tray, the food support, and the lid.

[0044] In another aspect, the depth of the system steam cooker can be matched to the depth of the cooking chamber of the cooking appliance. Preferably, the depth of the system steam cooker can be substantially half the depth of the cooking chamber of the cooking appliance.

[0045] Such a design allows several system steam cookers or a base tray and a lid or a base tray and a food carrier or a lid and a food carrier to be positioned one behind the other in a rail of the cooking appliance, which enables several types of food to be prepared at the same time.

[0046] In a further aspect, a wall thickness of the lid may be greater than a wall thickness of the base tray or a wall thickness of the food carrier.

[0047] Furthermore, the object is achieved by a system comprising the system steam cooker according to one of the above aspects and the cooking appliance, wherein the depth of the system steam cooker is half the depth of the cooking chamber or a depth extension of the (telescopic) rail of the cooking appliance.

[0048] In one aspect, the width of the system steamer can correspond to at least the rail spacing of the cooking appliance and at most to the (side) wall spacing of the cooking chamber of the cooking appliance. In a preferred embodiment, the width of the system steamer can be between 44 cm and 48 cm. Particularly preferably, the width of the system steamer can be 45 cm.

[0049] An independent aspect of the disclosure relates to a set comprising a baking tray, preferably made of enamelled sheet metal, a frying basket, preferably made of stainless steel, and a bowl, preferably made of glass, wherein the baking tray, the frying basket and the glass bowl have substantially identical dimensions in a width direction, preferably matched to a rail width of a cooking appliance, and together are configurable as a system steam cooker for the cooking appliance, in which the baking tray functions as a base bowl for holding water, the frying basket as a food carrier for placing in or on the base bowl and carrying food, and the bowl, in an inverted state, functions as a lid for closing the food carrier.

[0050] Furthermore, the object is achieved by a method for forming a system steam cooker for a cooking appliance with the steps:

[0051] - adjusting the width of a base tray for holding water, the width of a food support for carrying food and the width of a lid to the distance between the rails of the cooking appliance and in such a way that the width of the base tray, the food support and the lid is essentially identical;

[0052] - Inserting the base tray into the cooking appliance;

[0053] - Placing the food carrier in or on the base tray; and

[0054] - Close the food carrier with the lid.

[0055] A further independent aspect of the disclosure relates to the use of a base tray of a system steamer as a baking tray or casserole dish, the use of a food carrier of the system steamer as a frying basket and the use of a lid of the system steamer in an inverted state as a (glass) tray.

[0064] Description of the embodiments

[0065] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below based on the accompanying figures.

[0066] Fig. 1 shows a system steamer 2 according to the invention for a cooking appliance in an assembled state, and Fig. 2 shows the system steamer 2 according to the invention in an exploded view. The system steamer 2 includes a base tray 4, a food support 6 inserted into the base tray 4, and a (glass) lid 8, which is placed on the food support 6 and closes the food support 6.

[0067] The base tray 4 is designed as a one-piece, preferably enameled, sheet metal tray with a tray base 10, a tray wall 12, and a tray rim 14. The tray base 10, and thus also the base tray 4, have a substantially rectangular geometry. The tray wall 12 extends circumferentially away from the tray base 10. The tray base 10 and the tray wall 12 form an angle of approximately 90°, in particular between 90° and 95°. The tray rim 14 is formed on an end portion of the tray wall 12 facing away from the tray base 10 and is oriented / aligned substantially parallel to the tray base 10. The tray rim 14 is formed circumferentially on the tray wall 12. Handle portions 16 in the form of bent / curved sheet metal elements are formed on the tray rim 14. The base tray 4 is intended and designed to hold liquid, in particular water.

[0068] The food support 6 is preferably formed in one piece from stainless steel and includes a perforated food support base 18, which is intended and designed to support food. The food support base 18 has a substantially rectangular geometry. A food support wall 20 extends circumferentially away from the food support base 18, in particular at an angle of approximately 90°, preferably between 90° and 95°. A step 22 is formed in the food support wall 20. The step 23 is a section of the food support wall 20 that extends substantially parallel to the food support base 18 and offsets the food support wall 20 outwards in a direction starting from the food support base 18. In other words, the step 22 enlarges a circumference of the food support wall 20. In still other words, the food support wall 20 is segmented into a lower wall section 201 and an upper wall section 202 by the step 22.

[0069] A food carrier edge 24 is formed on a section of the food carrier wall 20 facing away from the food carrier base 18. The food carrier edge 24 is oriented substantially parallel to the food carrier base 18. The food carrier edge 24 is formed circumferentially on the food carrier wall 20. The food carrier edge 24 includes an edge 26 extending away from the food carrier edge 24 in a direction normal to the food carrier edge 24. The edge 26 is provided and designed to fix the lid 8 in directions parallel to the food carrier base 18.

[0070] The lid 8 is preferably made of glass and includes a cover surface 28, a cover wall 30, and a cover edge 32. The cover wall 30 extends circumferentially away from the cover surface 28, in particular at an angle of approximately 90°, preferably between 90° and 95°. The cover edge 32 is formed circumferentially on a portion of the cover wall 30 facing away from the cover surface 28 and extends substantially parallel to the cover surface 28.

[0071] The base tray 4, the food support 6, and the lid 8 all have essentially the same width B. The width B corresponds to a rail spacing in the cooking appliance. Furthermore, the base tray 4, the food support 6, and the lid 8 have essentially the same depth T. The depth T preferably corresponds to half the cooking chamber depth, so that two identical system steam cookers 2 can be inserted one behind the other into a pair of rails of the cooking appliance.

[0072] Fig. 3 shows a sectional view through the system steam cooker 2. The function of the system steam cooker 2 is explained in more detail below. The base tray 4 can be filled with water. The food carrier 6 with the perforated food carrier base 18 can be positioned in the base tray 4 such that the step 22 of the food carrier 6 rests on the tray rim 14. The step 22 is arranged in the food carrier wall 22 such that, in the inserted state, the perforated food carrier base 18 is spaced from the tray rim 10 by the distance X. The food carrier 6 can be closed with the lid 8. Specifically, the lid rim 32 can be placed / positioned on the food carrier rim 24 such that the rim 26 fixes the lid 8 at least in directions parallel to the food carrier base 18 and closes off a steam chamber. The lid edge 32 is spaced from the shell edge 14 substantially by an engagement distance Y of the upper wall portion 202.During operation of the system steam cooker 2 in the cooking appliance, the water in the base tray 4 can evaporate. The hot steam can rise through the perforated food support base 18 and cook the food arranged on the food support base 18. The step 22 and the distance X prevent the food from coming into contact with liquid water. The lid 22 prevents or at least reduces steam escaping from the system steam cooker 2.

[0073] Fig. 4 shows an enlarged view of the system steam cooker 2 and in particular a corner section of the system steam cooker 2. Recesses 34 are formed in the food support edge 24 on the short sides of the food support 6, so that a user can engage at an engagement distance Y defined by the upper wall section 202 and grasp the lid 8 at the lid edge 32 and lift it off. In other words, the recesses 34 partially expose the lid edge 32. The engagement distance Y and thus the height of the upper wall section 202 is selected such that the user's fingers can engage without problem. No edge 26 is formed in areas of the recesses 34.

[0074] Fig. 5 shows the food support 6 individually. The width B of the food support 6 is adapted to the rail spacing in the cooking appliance such that the food support 6 can be inserted individually into the cooking chamber of the cooking appliance. The food support 6 can be used, for example, as a perforated sheet for hot-air frying applications and the like. The edge 26 is therefore just high enough to fix the lid edge 32, yet can be easily inserted into the receiving rails of the cooking appliance. The food support 6 is made, for example, of stainless steel and, in particular, of a formed stainless steel sheet.

[0075] Fig. 6 shows the base tray 4 of the system steam cooker 2. The base tray 4 is essentially a baking tray with a raised tray wall 12. The base tray 4 can be used individually as a baking tray or as a roasting pan. The base tray is made, for example, of enameled sheet metal and, in particular, of deep-drawn and subsequently enameled sheet steel.

[0076] Fig. 7 shows the lid 8 in an inverted or turned state. The glass lid 8 functions as a glass bowl and / or as a casserole dish. In the inverted state, the lid surface 28 forms a base / base of the container formed by the lid. In the inverted state, the lid 8 can be inserted with the lid edge 32 into the receiving rails of the cooking appliance. The lid 8 is formed in one piece / monolithically from glass.

[0077] Fig. 8 shows the system steam cooker 2 in a nested state or a storage state. In the storage state, the lid 8 is positioned in the upside-down state in the food support 6. In other words, the food support 6 is inserted into the base tray 4, and the lid 8 is inserted into the food support 6 in the upside-down state. The tray wall 12, the food support wall 20, and the lid wall 30 are coordinated in their inclination / concavity such that the first described is easily possible. In other words, the inclination / concavity of the tray wall 12, the food support wall 20, and the lid wall 30 is essentially identical. In the nested state, the lid edge 32 rests on the food support edge 24, and the edge 26 prevents the lid edge 32 from slipping, even in the nested state. List of Reference Symbols
