Abstract
Description
Products with slide fasteners and fastener stringers
[0001] The present invention relates to a product with a slide fastener and a fastener stringer.
[0002] For example, International Publication No. 2011 / 064893 (Patent Document 1) describes a slide fastener with water-stopping properties. Briefly, the slide fastener described in Patent Document 1 has a pair of left and right fastener stringers on which element rows are formed, and sliders slidably attached to the left and right element rows.
[0003] Each of the left and right fastener stringers includes a fastener tape (tape member) and a plurality of fastener elements provided on the tape side edge of the fastener tape. The fastener tape includes a narrow waterproof and breathable tape body and a core cord portion provided on the tape side edge of the tape body. The fastener tape also has a property of preventing liquid from penetrating from the tape front side to the tape back side of the fastener tape.
[0004] International Publication No. 2011 / 064893
[0005] When the slide fastener described in Patent Document 1 is attached to a product such as clothing or a bag, the fastener tape of the fastener stringer and the fastener attachment material of the product (for example, the fabric of the clothing) are overlapped, and then the fastener tape and the fastener attachment material are sewn together using a sewing machine.
[0006] In conventional sewing processes, the fastener tape and the fastener attachment portion of the fastener-receiving member are usually overlapped and introduced between the needle plate and sewing machine foot of a sewing machine to sew together the fastener tape and the fastener attachment edge. In this case, considering the positional relationship between the sewing machine foot and sewing needle and the fastener elements of the fastener stringer during sewing, it is necessary to move the sewing machine needle up and down reciprocally at a position spaced apart from the fastener elements of the fastener tape in the tape width direction to pierce the fastener tape. As a result, the sewn portion of the sewing thread that sews the fastener tape and the fastener-receiving member is formed at a position spaced apart from the fastener elements in the tape width direction, so the fastener tape is arranged so as to be exposed to the outside between the fastener elements and the fastener-receiving member.
[0007] When the fastener tape is exposed between the fastener element and the fastener receiving member in this way, in order for a product with a slide fastener to be waterproof or watertight, not only must the fabric that serves as the fastener receiving member of the product be waterproof or watertight, but the fastener tape must also be waterproof or watertight, such as waterproof and breathable, as in Patent Document 1. However, in order to impart waterproof or watertight properties to the fastener tape, dedicated equipment or materials are required, which leads to problems such as increased manufacturing costs and complicated manufacturing processes.
[0008] Furthermore, in products to which slide fasteners are attached, the slide fasteners are often seen as one of the design elements of the product, and therefore, in order to improve the design or appearance quality of products with slide fasteners, it has been sometimes required to make the fastener tape of the slide fastener invisible or difficult to see.
[0009] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to provide a product with a slide fastener that can prevent or suppress the fastener tape from being exposed between the fastener element and the fastener attachment member, and a fastener stringer to be used in the product with the slide fastener.
[0010] In order to achieve the above object, the product with a slide fastener of the present invention is a product with a slide fastener having a fastener stringer in which a plurality of fastener elements are provided on a fastener tape along the tape length direction, and a fastener attachment member having a pair of stringer attachment edges at positions facing each other, to which the pair of fastener stringers are respectively attached, wherein the fastener stringers are attached to the stringer attachment edge edges by a sewing section formed with a sewing thread including an upper thread and a lower thread, the sewing section has a plurality of intertwined sections where the upper thread and the lower thread intersect after passing through the stringer attachment edge edges and the fastener tape, each of the fastener elements has at least one element recess in a plan view or bottom view of the fastener stringer, the side surface facing outward in the left-right direction of the fastener element having a shape recessed toward the inside in the left-right direction of the fastener element, and at least one of the intertwined sections is arranged in at least a part of the formation range of the element recess and an adjacent range adjacent to the formation range.
[0011] In the product with slide fastener of the present invention, the stringer attachment edge portion has a double portion that is bent into a U-shape in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the tape length direction, and the double portion has, in the cross-sectional view, a first strip portion at least a portion of which contacts the fastener tape, a folded portion extending from the first strip portion and having a folded shape, and a second strip portion extending from the folded portion and arranged overlapping the first strip portion, and it is preferable that a portion of the sewn portion is sandwiched between the first strip portion and the second strip portion in the double portion, and the double portion is fixed to the fastener tape by the sewn portion at a position where it contacts at least a portion of the fastener element.
[0012] It is also preferable that the sewn portion is formed linearly or substantially linearly along the tape length direction, and that the sewn portion is in contact with at least a portion of the fastener element.
[0013] Furthermore, it is preferable that each of the fastener elements has an element base having a portion whose dimension in the tape thickness direction of the fastener tape is constant, and a fin portion extending from the element base toward the tape inner side of the fastener tape and having a dimension in the tape thickness direction smaller than that of the element base via a step portion, and the element recess is provided in the fin portion. In this case, it is preferable that the fin portion has at least one of a first fin portion formed on a first tape surface of the fastener tape and a second fin portion formed on a second tape surface of the fastener tape.
[0014] In the present invention, it is preferable that the element recess has a size of 0.5 mm or more in at least one of the tape length direction and the tape width direction perpendicular to the tape length direction when viewed from above or below the fastener stringer.
[0015] Next, the fastener stringer provided by the present invention is a fastener stringer in which a plurality of fastener elements are provided on a fastener tape along the tape length direction, and each of the fastener elements has an element base having a portion with a constant dimension in the tape thickness direction of the fastener tape, and a fin portion extending from the element base toward the tape inside of the fastener tape and having a dimension in the tape thickness direction that is smaller than that of the element base via a step portion, the fin portion has an element recess having a shape recessed toward the element base in a plan view or bottom view of the fastener stringer, and the element recess has a size of 0.5 mm or more in at least one of the tape length direction and the tape width direction perpendicular to the tape length direction in the plan view or bottom view.
[0016] In the fastener stringer of the present invention, it is preferable that the element recess has a concave shape that is concave in an arc shape or a curved shape close to an arc shape in the plan view or the bottom view. It is also preferable that the element recess is disposed at a position spaced apart from the element base in the tape width direction. It is also preferable that the fin portion has at least one of a first fin portion formed on a first tape surface of the fastener tape and a second fin portion formed on a second tape surface of the fastener tape.
[0017] In the present invention, it is preferable that the maximum dimension in the tape length direction of the continuous portion of the fin portion that is formed continuously in the tape length direction is 50% or more and 100% or less of the maximum dimension in the tape length direction of the element base, and that the maximum dimension in the tape length direction of the element recess is 20% or more and 80% or less of the maximum dimension in the tape length direction of the continuous portion of the fin portion.
[0018] According to the product with a slide fastener of the present invention, it is possible to prevent or suppress the fastener tape from being exposed between the fastener element and the fastener receiving member.

[0020] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0021] Fig. 1 is a plan view showing a schematic view of a main part of a product with a slide fastener according to this embodiment. Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 are a plan view and a bottom view, respectively, showing an enlarged schematic view of a part of the product with a slide fastener shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing an enlarged schematic view of a fastener element. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing a schematic view of a cross section taken along line V-V shown in Fig. 2.
[0022] In the following description of the slide fastener and the product with the slide fastener, the front-rear direction refers to the direction along the tape length direction of the fastener tape, which is the same direction as the sliding direction of the slider (see Figures 1 and 2). In particular, the direction in which the slider slides when closing the slide fastener is referred to as the front, and the direction in which the slider slides when opening the slide fastener is referred to as the rear.
[0023] The left-right direction refers to the direction along the tape width direction of the fastener tape, specifically, the direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction and parallel to the tape front and tape back surfaces of the fastener tape. The left-right direction can also be said to be the direction along which the element rows of a pair of fastener stringers mesh with and separate from each other. In this case, the direction in which the pair of element rows move toward each other is referred to as the inward direction in the left-right direction, and the direction in which the pair of element rows move away from each other is referred to as the outward direction in the left-right direction (see FIG. 3).
[0024] The up-down direction refers to a direction perpendicular to the tape front and tape back surfaces of the fastener tape (the tape front-back direction or tape thickness direction), and is a direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction and the left-right direction (see Fig. 4). In particular, the direction exposed to the outside when the slide fastener is used (for example, the direction in which the slider pull tab is arranged relative to the fastener tape) is referred to as the up direction, and the opposite direction is referred to as the down direction.
[0025] The slide fastener product 1 of this embodiment is, for example, a garment (apparel), and a slide fastener 20 is attached to the front opening of the front body of the garment 1 and to the openings (opening peripheries) of pockets provided in the chest and abdomen of the front body. The slide fastener garment 1 has the slide fastener 20 having a pair of left and right fastener stringers 21, and a fastener attachment member 10 having left and right stringer attachment edges 11 to which the left and right fastener stringers 21 are attached.
[0026] In this embodiment, the fastener receiving member 10 to which the slide fastener 20 is attached is the fabric 10 (also called garment fabric) of the garment 1. The left and right fabrics 10 forming the front body of the garment 1 each have opposing side edges that are arranged opposite the other fabric 10. The opposing side edges of the left and right fabrics 10 become stringer attachment edges 11 to which the fastener stringers 21 of the slide fastener 20 are attached.
[0027] In this embodiment, the left and right fabrics 10 that include the stringer attachment edges 11 are waterproof or water-stopping. Here, waterproofing refers to the property of preventing water from passing through or penetrating the fabric 10. Water-stopping refers to the property of inhibiting water from passing through or penetrating the fabric 10. Note that in this embodiment, the method and means for imparting waterproofing or water-stopping properties to the fabric 10 are not particularly limited. Furthermore, the fabric 10 may be formed without being waterproof or water-stopping.
[0028] Each of the left and right fabrics 10 has a fabric main body portion (not shown) and a stringer attachment edge portion 11 provided at the edge of the fabric main body portion. A fastener stringer 21 is attached to the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of each fabric 10 by a stitching portion 12 formed with sewing thread (sewing thread).
[0029] As shown in Fig. 5, the stringer attachment edge 11 of each fabric 10 has a double portion 15 formed by overlapping the garment fabric 10 in the vertical direction. The double portion 15 of this stringer attachment edge 11 is formed into a U-shape in a cross section perpendicular to the front-to-rear direction by folding the garment fabric 10 back at a folding portion 17 along the front-to-rear direction. In this case, the double portion 15 contacts a fin portion 23b (second fin portion 25b) of a fastener element 23 described later.
[0030] In a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the front-to-rear direction, the double portion 15 has a first strip portion 16, at least a portion of which contacts the fastener tape 22 described later of the fastener stringer 21, a folded portion 17 extending from the first strip portion 16 and having a folded shape, and a second strip portion 18 extending from the folded portion 17 and overlapping the first strip portion 16 in the vertical direction.
[0031] In this double portion 15, the first strip portion 16 is fixed to the fastener tape 22 by the sewn portion 12. The first strip portion 16 is arranged between the fastener tape 22 and the second strip portion 18 in the up-down direction. The second strip portion 18 is arranged on the first strip portion 16, spaced apart from the fastener tape 22 of the fastener stringer 21, and is arranged extending inward in the width direction from a fabric main body portion (not shown) of the fabric 10. Note that an adhesive, adhesive sheet, or the like may be provided between the fastener tape 22 and the fabric 10 so as not to come into contact with the fastener elements 23.
[0032] The folded portion 17 of the double portion 15 is formed by folding the fabric 10 at the position of the sewn portion 12 where the fastener tape 22 is sewn to the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10. A part of the sewn portion 12 is wrapped and held inside this folded portion 17. In addition, the folded portion 17 is fixed by the sewn portion 12 at a position where it contacts the fin portion 23b (second fin portion 25b) of the fastener element 23.
[0033] The sewn portion 12, which sews together the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10 and the zipper stringer 21 (zipper tape 22), is formed linearly along the front-to-rear direction of the zipper tape 22 by a lock stitch using a sewing machine (not shown) (see FIGS. 2 and 3). Note that in the present invention, the sewn portion, which sews together the stringer attachment edge and the zipper stringer, may be formed of a substantially linear sewn portion that includes a linear portion along the front-to-rear direction of the zipper tape and a portion that is slightly bent or curved inward in the left-to-right direction.
[0034] The sewn portion 12 in this embodiment is formed with sewing thread including an upper thread (needle thread) and a lower thread (bobbin thread) of a sewing machine. The sewing thread forming the sewn portion 12 may be water-repellent. The sewn portion 12 in this embodiment has a plurality of intertwined portions 13. Each intertwined portion 13 penetrates the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22, and is formed by the intersection of the upper and lower sewing threads.
[0035] In this embodiment, at least a part of the intertwined portions 13 of the sewn portion 12 is arranged in at least a part of two ranges: a formation range of an element recess 23c provided in a fin portion 23b of the fastener element 23, which will be described later, and an adjacent range adjacent to the formation range. For example, in this embodiment, in the part of the sewn portion 12 within the front-rear direction range where at least the element row 27 is formed, the intertwined portions 13 of the sewn portion 12 are arranged in at least a part of the formation range and the adjacent range in the front-rear direction and the left-right direction. In particular, it is preferable that the intertwined portions 13 are arranged in at least a part of the formation range of the element recess 23c. Furthermore, the intertwined portions 13 of the sewn portion 12 are arranged at regular intervals in the front-rear direction.
[0036] In the first embodiment, the element recess 23c is recessed toward the inside of the fastener element 23 in a plan view or a bottom view of the fastener stringer 21, and is a portion where the fastener tape 22 is exposed. The element recess 23c is formed by recessing the side surface of the fin portion 23b facing outward in the left-right direction toward the inside in the left-right direction of the element 23. In the first embodiment, the element recess 23c is formed so that the central portion of the outer side surface of the fin portion 23b in the tape length direction is recessed most inward. The "forming range" of the element recess 23c is the region where the element recess 23c is provided with respect to the fin portion 23b in a plan view or a bottom view of the fastener stringer 21. Furthermore, the "adjacent range" adjacent to the forming range of the element recess 23c is formed as a region different from the forming range of the element recess 23c in a plan view or a bottom view of the fastener stringer 21. More specifically, the "proximity range" is a range (area) that is located outside the formation range of the element recess 23c in the left-right direction (tape width direction), and whose distance (separation distance) from the formation range is equal to or less than the thickness (diameter) of the sewing machine needle or equal to or less than the maximum dimension of the sewn portion 12 in the tape width direction.
[0037] As described above, by forming the sewn portion 12 in which the intertwined portion 13 is arranged in at least a part of the forming range and the adjacent range, the sewn portion 12 can be brought into stable contact with a part (the first fin portion 24b described later) of the fastener element 23, as will be described later. This also allows the double portion 15 of the stringer attachment edge portion 11 to be brought into stable contact with the second fin portion 25b of the fastener element 23.
[0038] The slide fastener 20 of this embodiment is attached to the stringer attachment edges 11 of the fabric 10 on the left and right sides of the garment by the sewn portions 12 described above (see FIG. 5 , etc.). In this case, a portion of the sewn portion 12 is sandwiched between the first strip portion 16 and the second strip portion 18. In other words, a portion of the sewn portion 12 is wrapped and held inside the double portion 15. Furthermore, the portion of the sewn portion 12 sandwiched between the first strip portion 16 and the second strip portion 18 is the portion of the sewn portion 12 that is disposed above the upper surface of the first strip portion 16.
[0039] The slide fastener 20 of this embodiment has a pair of left and right fastener stringers 21 in which element rows 27 are formed on the tape side edges of the fastener tapes 22, and sliders (not shown) slidably attached to the left and right element rows 27. In this embodiment, the left and right fastener tapes 22 are attached to the stringer attachment edges 11 of the left and right fabrics 10 by sewn portions 12, respectively.
[0040] In this embodiment, the slider is substantially similar to the slider described in WO 2011 / 064893 (Patent Document 1) or WO 2017 / 094145. Briefly, the slider (not shown) of this embodiment includes a slider body and a pull tab attached to the slider body. The slider body includes an upper blade, a lower blade spaced apart from the upper blade, a connecting post connecting the front ends of the upper and lower blades, left and right upper flanges extending from the left and right edges of the upper blade toward the lower blade, left and right lower flanges extending from the left and right edges of the lower blade toward the upper blade, and a pull tab attachment portion integrally formed on the upper surface of the upper blade for attaching the pull tab.
[0041] At the front end of the slider body, left and right shoulder openings are provided, sandwiching a connecting pillar. At the rear end of the slider body, a rear opening is provided. Between the upper and lower blades of the slider body, a roughly Y-shaped element guide path is provided, which communicates with the left and right shoulder openings and the rear opening. Between the upper flange portion and the lower flange portion of the slider body, an insertion gap is provided, through which the fin portion 23b (first fin portion 24b and second fin portion 25b) of the fastener element 23 is inserted. This insertion gap is in communication with the element guide path.
[0042] Each of the left and right fastener stringers 21 has a long, narrow fastener tape 22 and a plurality of fastener elements 23 made of synthetic resin provided on the tape side edge portion of the fastener tape 22. In this case, the fastener elements 23 are provided on the tape side edge portion of the fastener tape 22 facing the mating fastener stringer 21.
[0043] Each fastener tape 22 has a tape body 22a having a tape back surface (first tape surface) and a tape front surface (second tape surface), and a core cord portion 22b provided on the inner side edge of the tape body 22a. The core cord portion 22b is integrally provided on the side edge of the tape body 22a along the tape length direction. The core cord portion 22b is formed to bulge in the vertical direction relative to the tape body 22a.
[0044] The fastener tape 22 of this embodiment is not provided with a waterproof layer that prevents or suppresses the intrusion of water, and is formed without waterproofing or water-stopping properties. Note that in the present invention, the structure and properties of the fastener tape and the method for forming the fastener tape are not particularly limited, and the fastener tape may have waterproofing or water-stopping properties at least in part.
[0045] A plurality of synthetic resin fastener elements 23 are provided at regular intervals along the front-rear direction on the tape side edge of the fastener tape 22, thereby forming an element row 27. Each fastener element 23 is formed by injection molding synthetic resin into the fastener tape 22. Each fastener element 23 is not connected to other fastener elements 23 adjacent thereto in the front-rear direction, and has an independent shape separate from the other fastener elements 23.
[0046] Each fastener element 23 has at least an element base 23a having a portion with a constant thickness dimension and a fin portion 23b extending from the element base 23a outward in the left-right direction (in other words, toward the inner side of the fastener tape 22). The element base 23a is fixed across the tape body 22a and the core cord portion 22b of the fastener tape 22. In particular, in the case of this embodiment, the portion with a constant thickness dimension of the element base 23a is formed across the tape body 22a and the core cord portion 22b of the fastener tape 22 (see FIG. 5). The element base 23a has at least a first body portion 24a and a second body portion 25a of the fastener element 23, which will be described later.
[0047] The fin portion 23b is formed with a thickness smaller than that of the element base portion 23a via a step portion. Here, the thickness refers to the dimension in the vertical direction, and the thickness dimension of the element base portion 23a is the overall dimension in the vertical direction from the upper surface to the lower surface of the element base portion 23a. The fin portion 23b has a first fin portion 24b on the lower surface side formed on the back surface (first tape surface) of the fastener tape 22 and a second fin portion 25b on the upper surface side formed on the front surface (second tape surface) of the fastener tape 22. The first fin portion 24b and the second fin portion 25b of the fin portion 23b have shapes that are symmetrical to each other in the vertical direction with respect to the fastener tape 22. Note that in the present invention, the fin portion may be formed by only one of the first fin portion and the second fin portion.
[0048] In this embodiment, the fin portions 23b are provided on each fastener element 23, so that when the slider is slid along the element row 27, the upper flange portion and the lower flange portion of the slider can be accommodated and inserted into a gap formed outside the step portion between the element base portion 23a and the fin portion 23b in the left-right direction. This makes it possible to make the slider less likely to get caught on the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10 when sliding the slider, thereby enabling smooth sliding operation of the slider.
[0049] In the fin portion 23b of this embodiment, an element recess 23c is provided which has a shape recessed from a side end portion arranged on the outer side in the width direction of the fin portion 23b toward the inner side in the left-right direction (the side closer to the element base portion 23a). This element recess 23c has a first element recess 24c on the lower surface side formed on the back surface of the fastener tape 22 and a second element recess 25c on the upper surface side formed on the front surface of the fastener tape 22. Since such an element recess 23c is provided in the fin portion 23b of the fastener element 23 and the intertwined portion 13 of the sewn portion 12 is arranged in at least a part of the formation range of the element recess 23c and the adjacent range thereof, the sewn portion 12 can be easily formed by contacting the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23 in the sewing process described later.
[0050] To explain the shape of the fastener elements 23 in this embodiment in more detail, each fastener element 23 has a first element portion 24 arranged on the tape back side of the fastener tape 22 and a second element portion 25 arranged on the tape front side of the fastener tape 22 and having a shape different from that of the first element portion 24. In this case, the first element portion 24 of the fastener element 23 is a portion that is hidden on the back side of the garment 1 with a slide fastener. The second element portion 25 is a portion that is exposed to the outside of the garment.
[0051] As shown in Figure 3, the first element portion 24 has a first body portion 24a that is directly fixed to the fastener tape 22, a first fin portion 24b that extends outward in the left-right direction from the first body portion 24a, a neck portion 24d that extends inward in the left-right direction from the first body portion 24a, and an interlocking head portion 24e that extends further inward in the left-right direction from the neck portion 24d and has an approximately oval shape when viewed from the bottom of the fastener element 23.
[0052] The first body 24a has a substantially isosceles trapezoidal shape in a bottom view (FIG. 3) of the fastener element 23. The neck 24d has a narrowed shape so as to be able to engage with the interlocking heads 24e of the two mating fastener elements 23. The first fin 24b extends outward in the left-right direction from the first body 24a and is formed with a thickness dimension that is smaller than that of the first body 24a via a first step portion 24f. The thickness dimensions of the first body 24a and the first fin 24b refer to the dimensions in the up-down direction from the tape back surface of the fastener tape 22 to the underside of the first body 24a or the underside of the first fin 24b.
[0053] In each fastener element 23, the side end surface of the first fin portion 24b facing outward in the width direction is in contact with the sewn portion 12. That is, the lower thread of the sewn portion 12 is arranged in contact with the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23, without overlapping the first fin portion 24b in the vertical direction, and is located outside the first fin portion 24b in the left-right direction. This reduces contact between the slider and the lower thread of the sewn portion 12 when the slider is slid, for example, and therefore prevents the lower thread from being worn or cut due to contact with the slider. In addition, the aesthetic appearance (appearance quality) of the product can be improved.
[0054] In this embodiment, the first fin portion 24b has a first inclined portion 24g that gradually reduces the thickness of the first fin portion 24b outward in the left-right direction. This allows the sewn portion 12 to move outward in the left-right direction even if the sewn portion 12 (bobbin thread) is temporarily placed vertically overlapping the first fin portion 24b during sewing, making it easier to position the sewn portion 12 outward in the left-right direction than the first fin portion 24b. This also makes it easier to bring the sewn portion 12 into contact with the side end surface of the first fin portion 24b that faces outward in the left-right direction.
[0055] In a bottom view (FIG. 3) of the fastener element 23, the first fin portion 24b is provided with a first element recess 24c having a shape recessed inward in the width direction from a side end portion disposed on the outer side of the first fin portion 24b in the width direction. Note that the side end portion disposed on the outer side in the width direction of the first fin portion 24b can also be referred to as an outer side edge portion disposed on the side away from the element base 23a of the first fin portion 24b. Also, the shape recessed inward in the width direction can also be referred to as a shape recessed in a direction approaching the first body portion 24a (part of the element base 23a).
[0056] In the present embodiment, the first element recess 24c has a shape recessed inward in the width direction in an arc shape or a curved shape close to an arc when viewed from the bottom ( FIG. 3 ). Note that in the present invention, the shape of the element recess 23c (the first element recess 24c and the second element recess 25c) is not particularly limited, and may be formed in a shape such as a triangle or trapezoid that includes a straight portion when viewed from the top or bottom.
[0057] In this embodiment, the first element recess 24c is provided in a central portion including the center of the first fin portion 24b in the front-rear direction. Furthermore, the first fin portion 24b and the first element recess 24c have shapes that are symmetrical in the front-rear direction with respect to the center line of the first fin portion 24b in the front-rear direction.
[0058] In this case, the first element recess 24c has a size of 0.5 mm or more in the front-rear direction and a size of 0.5 mm or more in the left-right direction. In this embodiment, the dimension of the first element recess 24c in the front-rear direction is set larger than the dimension of the first element recess 24c in the left-right direction. In the present invention, it is sufficient for the element recess 24c to have a size of 0.5 mm or more in at least one of the front-rear direction and the left-right direction. However, in order to make it more difficult for a sewing machine needle to come into contact with the fastener element in the sewing process described below, for example, it is preferable that the element recess 23c has a size of 0.5 mm or more in both the front-rear direction and the left-right direction.
[0059] The first element recess 24c is provided at a distance from the first body 24a in the left-right direction. Therefore, the first fin 24b has a continuous portion that is formed continuously along the front-to-rear direction from the front end to the rear end of the first fin 24b between the first body 24a and the first element recess 24c in the left-to-right direction.
[0060] In the fastener element 23 of this embodiment, the above-mentioned continuous portion of the first fin portion 24b is formed so that the maximum dimension L1 of the continuous portion in the fore-and-aft direction is 50% or more and 100% or less, preferably 60% or more and 100% or less, of the maximum dimension L2 of the element base 23a (particularly, the first body portion 24a) in the fore-and-aft direction.
[0061] Since the maximum value L1 of the continuous portion of the first fin portion 24b is 50% or more of the maximum value L2 of the element base portion 23a, the first fin portion 24b and the first element recess 24c can be stably formed in a predetermined shape. Also, the first fin portion 24b can cover and conceal the fastener tape 22 more widely. Since the maximum value L1 of the continuous portion of the first fin portion 24b is 100% or less of the maximum value L2 of the element base portion 23a, the appearance or external appearance quality of the fastener element 23 can be improved. Also, a decrease in flexibility of the fastener stringer 21 due to the provision of the fin portion 23b can be suppressed.
[0062] In the fastener element 23 of this embodiment, the first fin portion 24b is formed so that the maximum dimension L3 of the first element recess 24c in the front-to-rear direction is 20% or more and 80% or less, preferably 30% or more and 70% or less, of the maximum dimension L1 of the above-mentioned continuous portion in the front-to-rear direction.
[0063] By making the maximum value L3 of the first element recess 24c 20% or more of the maximum value L2 of the continuous portion of the first fin portion 24b, it is possible to make it difficult for the sewing needle of a sewing machine to interfere with the fastener element 23 in the sewing process described below. By making the maximum value L3 of the first element recess 24c 80% or less of the maximum value L1 of the continuous portion of the first fin portion 24b, it is possible to stably form the first fin portion 24b and the first element recess 24c into a predetermined shape, and also to stably provide the first fin portion 24b with strength appropriate for use of the slide fastener 20. Furthermore, the fastener tape 22 can be more widely covered by the first fin portion 24b.
[0064] 2, the second element portion 25 has a second body portion 25a directly fixed to the fastener tape 22, a second fin portion 25b extending outward in the left-right direction from the second body portion 25a, and an element head portion 25d extending inward in the left-right direction from the second body portion 25a. The element head portion 25d has a shape in which the dimension in the tape length direction gradually decreases in two stages toward the tip of the element head portion 25d.
[0065] The second fin portion 25b extends outward in the left-right direction from the second body portion 25a and is formed to have a thickness smaller than that of the second body portion 25a via a second step portion 25f. Note that the thickness of each of the second body portion 25a and the second fin portion 25b means the dimension in the vertical direction from the tape surface of the fastener tape 22 to the upper surface of the second body portion 25a or the upper surface of the second fin portion 25b.
[0066] The side end surfaces of the second fin portions 25b facing outward in the width direction are in contact with the stringer attachment edge portions 11 (particularly the double portion 15) of the fabric 10. The state in which the second fin portions 25b of the fastener elements 23 are in contact with the stringer attachment edge portions 11 of the fabric 10 is maintained by the stitching portions 12 that are arranged linearly along the front-to-rear direction.
[0067] This allows the stringer attachment edge 11 to stably cover and hide the portion of the fastener tape 22 that is outward in the left-right direction from the fastener element 23. This prevents the fastener tape 22 from being exposed in the range between the fastener element 23 and the fastener receiving member 10 in the left-right direction. In the present invention, the stringer attachment edge of the fabric may be disposed at a position slightly away from the second fin portion so as not to come into contact with the second fin portion of the fastener element and so that the fastener tape is not or is difficult to see from the outside of the garment.
[0068] In the fastener element 23 of this embodiment, the second fin portion 25b has a shape that is symmetrical to the first fin portion 24b in the up-down direction with respect to the fastener tape 22. Therefore, the shape of the second fin portion 25b will be briefly described below.
[0069] The second fin portion 25b has a second inclined portion 25g that gradually reduces the thickness of the second fin portion 25b outward in the left-right direction. The provision of this second inclined portion 25g makes it difficult for the double portion 15 of the stringer attachment edge 11 to overlap the second fin portion 25b in the vertical direction. The second fin portion 25b may also be formed with a uniform thickness without the second inclined portion 25g.
[0070] In a plan view (FIG. 2) of the fastener element 23, the second fin portion 25b is provided with a second element recess 25c having a shape recessed in an arc shape or a curved shape close to an arc from a side end portion arranged on the outer side in the width direction of the second fin portion 25b toward the inner side in the width direction. The second element recess 25c is provided apart from the second body portion 25a in the left-right direction, so that the second fin portion 25b has a continuous portion formed continuously in the front-rear direction from the front end portion to the rear end portion of the second fin portion 25b.
[0071] The fin portion 23b of this embodiment, which has the first fin portion 24b and the second fin portion 25b as described above, is formed with a thickness that allows it to be inserted into the tape insertion gap of the slider. The first step portion 24f and the second step portion 25f of the fastener element 23 are formed to be able to slide against the upper flange portion and the lower flange portion of the slider, respectively. As a result, even if the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10 is held in contact with the second fin portion 25b of the fastener element 23 as described above, it is possible to prevent or suppress the upper flange portion and the lower flange portion of the slider from coming into contact with the left and right fabrics 10 when the slider slides along the left and right element rows 27. Therefore, the slider can be smoothly slid regardless of the thickness of the fabric 10.
[0072] Furthermore, by providing the above-mentioned first element recess 24c and second element recess 25c in the first fin portion 24b and the second fin portion 25b, respectively, it is possible to prevent the sewing needle from interfering with the fastener element 23 during the sewing process described below.
[0073] Furthermore, since each fastener element 23 has the first element part 24 and the second element part 25 having the above-described shape, when the left and right element rows 27 are in an engaged state, it is possible to make it difficult for water to penetrate from the upper surface side to the lower surface side of the left and right element rows 27. In this case, for example, by making each fastener element 23 water-repellent, it is possible to make it even more difficult for water to penetrate.
[0074] In the present invention, the shape of the fastener element is not particularly limited, and it is sufficient that the fastener element has a shape that allows the left and right element rows to mesh with each other. For example, the fastener element may have a shape that is symmetrical in the vertical direction with respect to the fastener tape. In addition, the first fin portion, the first element recess, the second fin portion, and the second element recess of the fastener element may be formed in a shape and size different from those of this embodiment (for example, see the modified example shown in Figure 6, which will be described later).
[0075] Next, a method for manufacturing the garment 1 with a slide fastener by attaching the fastener stringer 21 of the slide fastener 20 to the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10 will be described. First, a sewing step (sewing process) is performed using a sewing machine to sew together the fastener tape 22 of the fastener stringer 21 and the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10.
[0076] In the following description of the sewing machine and sewing process, the front-to-rear direction is the transport direction of the sewing machine, and is the direction along the direction in which the fastener stringer 21 and fabric 10, which are the objects to be sewn, are fed. In this case, the direction in which the objects to be sewn are fed is referred to as the front, and the opposite direction is referred to as the rear. The up-down direction is the direction along which the sewing needle of the sewing machine reciprocates. In this case, the direction in which the sewing needle pierces the object to be sewn is referred to as the down, and the direction in which the sewing needle is pulled out of the object to be sewn is referred to as the up. The left-to-right direction is the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the object to be sewn is fed and perpendicular to the direction in which the sewing needle reciprocates.
[0077] The sewing machine (not shown) used in the sewing process of this embodiment has a needle plate on which the sewing object is placed, a needle bar supported so as to be able to move back and forth in the vertical direction relative to the needle plate, a sewing needle held by the needle bar, a sewing machine foot that presses the sewing object toward the needle plate, a conveying gear that transports the fastener stringer 21, and a shuttle provided below the needle plate. In this case, the needle bar, sewing needle, sewing machine foot, and shuttle are formed substantially the same as the needle bar, sewing needle, sewing machine foot, and shuttle used in a conventional sewing machine. In this embodiment, the sewing needle preferably has a diameter of 1 mm or less.
[0078] The needle plate portion has a base portion with a flat surface and a guide groove portion that is recessed relative to the flat surface of the base portion. The guide groove portion is formed continuously in the front-to-rear direction so that the element row 27 of the fastener stringer 21 can be inserted and guided.
[0079] The conveying gear is formed by a spur gear having a plurality of teeth provided on its outer periphery. The tooth pitch of the conveying gear is set to be the same as or slightly larger than the formation pitch in the front-rear direction of the fastener elements 23 that form the element row 27.
[0080] The conveying gear is arranged along the front-to-rear direction of the sewing machine, and a gear holding unit (not shown) holds the rotation axis of the conveying gear at a position below the needle plate. The conveying gear is rotated by a rotation drive unit (not shown) that includes a servo motor or a stepping motor. The conveying gear is also arranged in a position where at least one tooth of the conveying gear always protrudes into the guide groove.
[0081] When performing a sewing process using the above-described sewing machine, including sewing the fastener stringer 21 to the fabric 10, first, the element row 27 of the fastener stringer 21 is introduced into the guide groove of the needle plate, and the fastener tape 22 is placed on the base of the needle plate. At this time, the element row 27 is brought into mesh with the teeth of the conveying gear protruding into the guide groove.
[0082] Next, the fabric 10 is placed on the needle plate while being aligned with the fastener stringer 21 so that the fabric 10 covers the fastener stringer 21 from above. The sewing machine foot is then lowered, so that the fastener stringer 21 and fabric 10 are sandwiched and held between the sewing machine foot and the needle plate. At this time, the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10 is held flat, and the U-shaped double portion 15 has not yet been formed on the stringer attachment edge 11.
[0083] Next, the sewing machine is operated to rotate the conveying gear to convey the fastener stringer 21 and raise and lower the sewing needle in the vertical direction. At this time, the fabric 10 is conveyed together with the fastener stringer 21. As a result, while the fastener stringer 21 and the fabric 10 are conveyed, the sewing needle can pierce the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22 to perform a lock stitch, so that the sewing thread (upper thread and bobbin thread) forms a straight or approximately straight sewn portion 12 along the front-to-rear direction, and the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22 are sewn together by the sewn portion 12.
[0084] Here, the position (needle drop position) at which the sewing needle penetrates the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22 will be described. In this embodiment, the sewing needle penetrates the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22 in a portion that includes at least a part of two ranges, namely, the formation range of the above-mentioned element recesses 23c (first element recess 24c and second element recess 25c) of the fastener element 23 and a proximity range that is close to the formation range, in a plan view or a bottom view of the fastener stringer 21. In this case, the needle drop position of the sewing needle is preferably the center of the fastener element 23 in the front-to-rear direction. In addition, it is preferable that there is one needle drop position within the above-mentioned formation range and proximity range of one fastener element.
[0085] In this way, by piercing the sewing needle through the fabric 10 and the fastener tape 22 in a portion including at least a part of the above-mentioned forming range and approach range, it is possible to prevent or suppress the sewing needle, which moves up and down reciprocally, from contacting the fastener element 23 during sewing processing, making it difficult for the sewing needle to break. Furthermore, in the sewing process, it is possible to stably form a linear or approximately linear sewn portion 12, and to bring the sewn portion 12 into contact with the outer side end surface of the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23.
[0086] In this case, in the sewing machine (not shown) of this embodiment, the conveying gear is rotated while always meshing with the fastener stringer 21, so the fastener stringer 21 can be stably conveyed while the position of the fastener stringer 21 is accurately controlled by the conveying gear. As a result, it is possible to prevent the pitch of the fastener elements 23 from shifting in response to the up and down movement of the sewing needle. In addition, because the up and down movement of the sewing needle and the rotation of the conveying gear can be controlled to match, the position at which the sewing needle pierces the fastener tape 22 can be easily adjusted.
[0087] In this embodiment, the conveying gear engages with the fastener element 23 from the underside of the fastener stringer 21, but the conveying gear may also be arranged to engage with the fastener element 23 from the lateral direction of the fastener stringer 21 (for example, the width direction of the sewing machine).
[0088] By performing the sewing process of this embodiment as described above, a sewing portion 12 is formed in which the intertwined portion 13 is provided in at least a portion of the above-mentioned formation range and its adjacent range, and the fastener tape 22 of the fastener stringer 21 and the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10 can be sewn together.
[0089] After the above-described sewing step is performed, a folding step is performed in which the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10 is folded to form the double portion 15. In this folding step, the stringer attachment edge 11 of the fabric 10 is folded along the sewn portion 12, which is formed in a straight or approximately straight line, so that the above-described first strip portion 16 and second strip portion 18 of the stringer attachment edge 11 overlap one another. This produces the fabric 10 to which the fastener stringer 21 is sewn as shown in Figures 2 to 4.
[0090] At this time, the fastener stringer 21 is sewn to the first strip portion 16 of the double layer portion 15 in the fabric 10, and the folded portion 17 of the double layer portion 15 is in contact with the fin portion 23b (second fin portion 25b) of the fastener element 23. Furthermore, a portion of the sewn portion 12 is held in a state where it is wrapped in the double layer portion 15. Because the second strip portion 18 of the double layer portion 15 is arranged above the sewn portion 12 so as to cover the sewn portion 12, the sewn portion 12 is hidden by the second strip portion 18 and cannot be seen from the upper surface (outer surface) side of the stringer attachment edge portion 11.
[0091] Thereafter, two pieces of fabric 10 with fastener stringers 21 sewn thereto are combined together as a set, and sliders are attached to the element rows 27 of the set of fastener stringers 21, thereby producing fabric 10 with a slide fastener. Garment 1 with a slide fastener is manufactured by forming a garment using this fabric 10 with a slide fastener. Note that in this embodiment, for example, after a garment is formed using two pieces of fabric 10 with fastener stringers 21 sewn thereto, sliders may be attached to the two element rows 27 provided on the garment.
[0092] In the garment with slide fastener of this embodiment manufactured as described above, the sewn portion 12 that sews the fastener stringer 21 and the fabric 10 together is formed by positioning the intertwined portion 13 of the sewn portion 12 in at least a portion of the formation range of the element recess 23c of the fastener element 23 and its adjacent range.
[0093] As a result, on the back side of the garment, the sewn portion 12 formed linearly or approximately linearly along the front-to-rear direction can be stably brought into contact with the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23 (see FIGS. 3 and 5). As a result, on the front side of the garment, the position of the stringer attachment edge portion 11 (double portion 15) of the fabric 10 is fixed by the sewn portion 12, as shown in FIG. 2, for example, so that the stringer attachment edge portion 11 can be stably maintained in contact with the second fin portion 25b of the fastener element 23. As a result, the stringer attachment edge portion 11 can cover and conceal the tape portion of the fastener tape 22 that is disposed outward from the fastener element 23 in the left-right direction, so that the fastener tape 22 can be prevented from being exposed to the outside between the fastener element 23 and the fabric 10 in the left-right direction.
[0094] Therefore, with the garment 1 with slide fastener of this embodiment, the portion of the fastener tape 22 exposed to the outside can be reduced, preventing or suppressing impairment of the design and appearance quality of the garment due to exposure of the fastener tape 22. This makes it easier to manufacture garments with excellent design or high appearance quality.
[0095] Furthermore, in this embodiment, as described above, the exposed portion of the fastener tape 22 can be reduced, so that even if the fastener tape 22 itself is not waterproof or watertight, if the fabric 10 of the garment is waterproof or watertight, it is possible to make it difficult for liquids such as water to penetrate from the front side to the back side of the garment via, for example, the slide fastener 20 provided on the garment. In this case, since the fastener tape 22 is not provided with waterproofness or watertightness, it is also possible to obtain the advantages of reduced manufacturing costs and simplified manufacturing processes.
[0096] 3, on the back side of the garment, the sewn portion 12 formed linearly along the front-to-rear direction is provided in contact with the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23. However, in the present invention, on the back side of the garment, the linear sewn portion 12 may be provided at a position slightly spaced apart from the first fin portion 24b of the fastener element 23. Even in this case, on the front side of the garment, the linear sewn portion 12 fixes the position of the stringer attachment edge portion 11 of the fabric 10, and the stringer attachment edge portion 11 can be kept in contact with or close to the second fin portion 25b of the fastener element 23, so that it is possible to prevent or suppress the fastener tape 22 from being exposed to the outside between the fastener element 23 and the fabric 10.
[0097] In addition, in the present invention, instead of the fastener elements 23 of the above-described embodiment, a plurality of fastener elements 43 according to a modified example as shown in FIG. 6 may be provided on the fastener tape 22, thereby forming a fastener stringer 41.
[0098] The fastener element 43 according to this modification has at least an element base 43a having a portion with a constant thickness dimension and fin portions 43b extending outward in the left-right direction from the element base 43a. The fin portions 43b are formed to have a thickness dimension smaller than that of the element base 43a via a step portion. The fin portions 43b have a first fin portion (not shown) on the lower surface side formed on the back surface of the fastener tape 22 and a second fin portion 45b on the upper surface side formed on the front surface of the fastener tape 22. The first fin portion and the second fin portion 45b of the fin portion 43b have shapes that are symmetrical to each other in the up-down direction with respect to the fastener tape 22.
[0099] The fastener element 43 of the modified example has a first element portion 44 arranged on the tape back surface side of the fastener tape 22 and a second element portion 45 arranged on the tape front surface side of the fastener tape 22 .
[0100] The first element portion 44 has a first body portion (not shown) that is directly fixed to the fastener tape 22, a first fin portion (not shown) that extends outward in the left-right direction from the first body portion, a neck portion (not shown) that extends inward in the left-right direction from the first body portion, and an interlocking head portion 44e that further extends inward in the left-right direction from the neck portion.
[0101] In the fastener element 43 of the modified example, the portion other than the first fin portion of the first element portion 44 is formed substantially in the same manner as the first element portion 24 of the above-described embodiment. As described above, the first fin portion of the modified example has a shape that is symmetrical in the up-down direction to the second fin portion 45b.
[0102] The second element portion 45 has a second body portion 45a directly fixed to the fastener tape 22, a second fin portion 45b extending outward in the left-right direction from the second body portion 45a, and an element head portion 45d extending inward in the left-right direction from the second body portion 45a. The portions of the second element portion 45 in the modified example other than the second fin portion 45b are formed substantially in the same manner as the second element portion 25 of the above-described embodiment.
[0103] The second fin portion 45b is provided with a second element recess 45c (element recess 43c) that is recessed inward in the left-right direction from a side end portion disposed on the outer side in the width direction of the second fin portion 45b. The second element recess 45c is provided separated from the second body portion 45a in the left-right direction. Therefore, the second fin portion 45b has a continuous portion that is formed continuously along the front-rear direction from the front end to the rear end of the second fin portion 45b between the second body portion 45a and the second element recess 45c in the left-right direction.
[0104] The second element recess 45c of the modified example is provided at a position biased toward the front so as to cut away the front end of the second fin portion 45b in a plan view of the fastener stringer 41 according to the modified example. In other words, the installation position of the second element recess 45c of the modified example is different from the second element recess 25c provided in the fastener element 23 of the above-described embodiment. Note that the second fin portion 45b of the modified example is formed substantially in the same way as the second fin portion 25b of the above-described embodiment, except for the installation position of the second element recess 45c.
[0105] Even when using the modified fastener stringer 41 having the above-mentioned multiple fastener elements 43, by performing a sewing process substantially similar to that of the above-mentioned embodiment on the fastener stringer 41 and the stringer attachment edge 11 of the garment, the fastener tape 22 of the fastener stringer 41 and the stringer attachment edge 11 of the garment can be sewn together at a sewn portion formed in a straight or approximately straight line with the sewing thread. In this case, even in the modified fastener stringer 41, the intertwined portion 13 of the sewn portion 12 formed in the sewing process can be positioned in at least a part of the formation range of the element recess 43c of the fastener element 43 and the adjacent range thereof.
[0106] Therefore, on the back side of the garment to be manufactured, the sewn portion can be stably brought into contact with the first fin portion of the fastener element 43. Also, on the front side of the garment, as shown in Fig. 6, the stringer attachment edge portion 11 can be stably maintained in contact with the second fin portion 45b of the fastener element 43, so that the stringer attachment edge portion 11 can cover and conceal the tape portion of the fastener tape 22 that is disposed outward in the left-right direction from the fastener element 43.
[0107] Furthermore, the fin portion 43b of the modified example is formed with a larger area than the fin portion 23b of the above-mentioned embodiment when viewed from above or below the fastener stringer 41, and therefore the fin portion 43b of the modified example can cover a larger area of the fastener tape 22 than the fin portion 23b of the embodiment.
[0108] Therefore, in a garment 2 with a slide fastener manufactured using the modified fastener stringer 41, the area of the fastener tape 22 exposed to the outside can be reduced, which more effectively prevents or suppresses the design and appearance quality of the garment from being impaired by the exposure of the fastener tape 22. Furthermore, if the fabric 10 of the garment is waterproof or water-stopping, it becomes difficult for liquids such as water to penetrate from the front side to the back side of the garment.
[0109] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments and modifications, and various modifications are possible as long as they have substantially the same configuration as the present invention and provide similar effects. For example, the slide fastener 20 and fastener stringer 21 of the embodiments are formed by providing the fastener elements 23 in independent shapes on the fastener tape 22 by injection molding of synthetic resin, as described above. However, in the present invention, instead of the synthetic resin fastener elements 23, the slide fastener and fastener stringer may be formed by providing a plurality of metal fastener elements (not shown), each formed in an independent shape, on the fastener tape.
[0110] In addition, although the examples have been described with reference to a case where the garment 1 with a slide fastener is waterproof or watertight, the present invention does not require the garment 1 with a slide fastener to be waterproof or watertight. Furthermore, in the examples, clothing is described as a representative example of a product to which the slide fastener 20 is attached, but in the present invention, the product with a slide fastener is not limited to clothing. The product with a slide fastener of the present invention includes a variety of products such as clothing other than clothing, everyday goods such as shoes and bags, industrial materials, and various seat products used in automobiles, trains, aircraft, etc.
