Description

Composition, film manufacturing method, solid-state imaging device manufacturing method, and infrared sensor manufacturing method

[0001] The present invention relates to a composition containing an infrared absorbing dye, and also to a method for producing a film, a solid-state imaging device, and an infrared sensor using the composition containing the infrared absorbing dye.

[0002] Video cameras, digital still cameras, and mobile phones with camera functions use solid-state image sensors for color imaging, such as CCDs (charge-coupled devices) and CMOSs (complementary metal-oxide semiconductors). These solid-state image sensors use silicon photodiodes that are sensitive to infrared light in their light-receiving sections. For this reason, an infrared cut filter is sometimes used to correct visibility.

[0003] Infrared cut filters are produced using compositions containing infrared absorbing dyes, such as phthalocyanine compounds.

[0004] Patent Document 1 describes the production of an infrared cut filter or the like using a composition containing a specific partially expanded aluminum phthalocyanine compound.

[0005] International Publication No. 2022 / 172980

[0006] However, phthalocyanine compounds tend to aggregate in compositions or films. Therefore, compositions containing phthalocyanine compounds as infrared absorbing dyes have room for improvement in terms of storage stability. Furthermore, films formed using compositions containing phthalocyanine compounds tend to generate aggregates derived from the phthalocyanine compounds, leaving room for further improvement in terms of suppressing foreign matter defects.

[0007] The present inventors have investigated the composition disclosed in Patent Document 1 and found that this composition also had insufficient storage stability. Furthermore, films obtained using the composition frequently suffered from foreign matter defects.

[0008] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a composition capable of forming a film having excellent storage stability and suppressing the occurrence of foreign matter defects. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a film, a method for producing a solid-state imaging device, and a method for producing an infrared sensor.

As used herein, infrared light refers to light (electromagnetic waves) with a wavelength of 700 to 2500 nm. As used herein, total solids refers to the total mass of all components of a composition excluding the solvent. As used herein, the term "process" refers not only to an independent process, but also to a process that cannot be clearly distinguished from other processes, as long as the intended effect of the process is achieved.

[0014] <Composition> A first aspect of the composition of the present invention is a composition comprising: an infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2); a curable compound B; and a solvent C, wherein the solvent C comprises solvent c1 having a CLogP value of −2.00 to −0.35, and the content of the solvent c1 in the composition is 0.1 to 1000 ppm by mass.

[0015] A second aspect of the composition of the present invention is a composition comprising: an infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2); a curable compound B; and a solvent C, wherein the solvent C comprises at least one solvent c1a selected from ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, N-methylpyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylformamide, and N,N-dimethylacetamide, and the content of the solvent c1a in the composition is 0.1 to 1,000 ppm by mass.

[0016] The composition of the present invention, by containing 0.1 to 1000 ppm by mass of the above-mentioned solvent c1 or solvent c1a, can suppress aggregation of the infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2) in the composition, and can improve storage stability. Furthermore, it can suppress aggregation of the infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2) in the film during film formation, and can form a film in which the occurrence of foreign matter defects is suppressed. The reason for obtaining such effects is presumed to be as follows. The above-mentioned solvent c1 and solvent c1a are hydrophilic solvents, and the central cation atom (M in formula (1)) of the infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2) is 1 , M in Equation (2) 2 ) and the ligand (Z in formula (1) 1 , Z in formula (2) 2a and Z 2b) is likely to interact with the infrared absorbing dye A. Furthermore, it is presumed that the content of the above-mentioned solvent c1 or solvent c1a is 0.1 to 1000 ppm by mass, so that the above-mentioned solvent c1 and solvent c1a interact appropriately with the infrared absorbing dye A represented by formula (1) or (2). Therefore, it is presumed that aggregation of the infrared absorbing dye A can be suppressed while maintaining the dispersibility of the infrared absorbing dye A in the composition and in the film during film formation. For these reasons, it is presumed that the composition of the present invention has excellent storage stability and can form a film in which the occurrence of foreign matter defects is suppressed.

[0017] The composition of the present invention can be used as a composition for an optical filter. Examples of optical filters include an infrared cut filter and an infrared transmission filter.
