Abstract
Description
Electronic device providing bundled product information and method therefor
[0001] The present invention relates to an electronic device that provides bundled product information and a method therefor. More specifically, the present invention relates to an electronic device that automatically generates information about bundled products based on the determination of the bundled products and the quantity of products per bundle, and a method therefor.
[0002] As internet use becomes more widespread, the e-commerce market is expanding. Particularly, with the spread of infectious diseases, the proportion of people visiting offline stores to purchase products is decreasing, while the proportion of people purchasing products through e-commerce using computers or smartphones is rapidly increasing.
[0003] Users can search for and purchase a variety of items through e-commerce applications. In particular, for consumables that are used or consumed periodically and require repurchasing, consumers tend to purchase in bulk rather than in single quantities, thereby reducing the frequency of repurchases.
[0004] To accommodate this user trend, e-commerce service providers offer bundled products, which bundle multiple identical products together. These bundled products can enhance the user experience by eliminating the need to change quantity options when purchasing multiple items. Furthermore, bundled products allow users to enjoy greater benefits when considering bulk purchases, while also extending the repurchase cycle, making it easier for users to manage their consumables. This strategy enhances the user experience by ensuring users have the right supplies when they need them and providing an environment where they can take advantage of additional benefits.
[0005] To offer bundled products, e-commerce service providers must determine and reflect whether specific product information changes based on the quantity of individual products. This information can be manually adjusted by the e-commerce service provider based on the quantity of products comprising the bundled product, and product information for the bundled product is then generated based on this information. However, manually adjusting information that changes with product quantity increases the workload of the e-commerce service provider, making it difficult to efficiently offer bundled products.
[0006] In this regard, reference may be made to prior literature such as KR 10-2370370 B1 and KR 10-2016-0052033 A.
[0007] The present invention has been proposed to solve the above-described problem, and the purpose of the present invention is to improve the user experience related to the use of e-commerce services by automatically generating product information on each bundled product for the target product when an e-commerce service provider determines only the target product for a bundled product and the quantity of products per bundle, and providing a product information page including product information on the bundled product to the user of the e-commerce service.

[0043] FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating the configuration of a bundled product information provision system according to various embodiments.
[0044] Referring to FIG. 1, a bundled product information provision system according to various embodiments of the present invention may include an electronic device (100) and a user terminal (110). Meanwhile, the system illustrated in FIG. 1 only illustrates components related to embodiments of the present invention. Therefore, those skilled in the art will appreciate that, in addition to the components illustrated in FIG. 1, other general-purpose components may also be included.
[0045] In one embodiment, a user of an e-commerce service can communicate with a service server including an electronic device (100) using a user terminal (110). The user terminal (110) has an application that provides an e-commerce service installed, can access the electronic device (100) under the control of the application, and can use the e-commerce service based on information exchange with the electronic device (100). The e-commerce application may include an application for a buyer, an application for a seller, an application for a delivery person, etc., depending on who the user of the application is. That is, the user terminal (110) can be used by various users, including a customer who purchases an item through the service, a seller who sells an item through the service, and a delivery person who delivers the purchased item from the seller to the customer. The user terminal (110) may be a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet PC, or a static device such as a desktop PC, and any device on which an e-commerce or delivery brokerage service application can be installed and executed can be used as the user terminal (110) without limitation.
[0046] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) communicates with a user terminal (110) and may provide information related to an e-commerce service to the user terminal (110), and may be included in a service server that provides the e-commerce service. The electronic device (100) may provide a list of items or stores as a search result of a database. In addition, the electronic device (100) may provide information related to delivery and payment for items purchased by the customer through the service to at least one of the customer, the seller, and the delivery person. In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) may provide information about products to a user who wishes to order products through e-commerce, and may provide information related to bundled products to the user terminal (110) for the convenience of the user in using the service.
[0047] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) may identify bundled products, determine the quantity of products per bundle, determine attribute information associated with the bundled products based on attribute information associated with the bundled products and the quantity of products per bundle, and provide a page including bundled product information generated based on the attribute information associated with the bundled products to the user terminal (110). A method by which the electronic device (100) generates and provides information on bundled products will be described in detail below with reference to FIG. 2.
[0048] FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating the operation of an electronic device providing bundled product information according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0049] Referring to FIG. 2, in step S210, the electronic device (100) can check the bundle target product.
[0050] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can identify products within a category included in a preset product category list as bundled products. As described above, e-commerce service users are particularly likely to purchase bundled products, particularly consumables or products used periodically. Conversely, users are more likely to purchase small quantities of electronic products, such as smartphones or computers, rather than a large quantity at once. Therefore, e-commerce service providers can establish a product category list comprised of categories with a high likelihood of being purchased in bulk, based on the characteristics of the categories, and generate and provide bundled product information for products within the categories included in the product category list.
[0051] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can identify bundled products based on the purchase history of e-commerce service users. For example, products that e-commerce service users frequently purchase in bulk rather than individually may be considered products with high customer demand for bundled products. Therefore, providing these products as bundled products to users allows users to more conveniently purchase the desired quantity, thereby enhancing the user experience of the e-commerce service. Furthermore, e-commerce service providers benefit from increased sales and improved inventory management efficiency.
[0052] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) may identify a specific product as a bundled item if a large quantity of that product is expected to be purchased during a specific season or event. For example, during the summer vacation season, there may be an increased desire to purchase large quantities of travel goods or water-related products, while as Christmas or Halloween approaches, there may be an increased desire to purchase large quantities of gifts or decorations. Furthermore, during large-scale sporting events such as the World Cup or the Olympics, there may be an increased desire to purchase large quantities of sports-related apparel or cheering gear. Therefore, offering bundled items that bundle related products together and sell them in large quantities for a specific season or event can enhance the user experience of e-commerce services.
[0053] In step S220, the electronic device (100) can check the quantity of products per bundle.
[0054] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the quantity of products per bundle based on a maximum quantity condition per bundle. When e-commerce service users purchase products in large quantities, they require storage space for these purchased products. Therefore, users may have a desire to purchase a specific product in large quantities, but may also tend not to purchase more than a certain quantity. Considering this tendency, a maximum quantity condition per bundle can be set, and by only generating information about bundled products with quantities below the maximum quantity, the workload of e-commerce service providers related to generating bundled product information can be efficiently managed.
[0055] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the maximum quantity condition per bundle based on the category of the bundled product. For example, for the stationery category, including paper, writing instruments, and notebooks, the maximum quantity condition per bundle can be set relatively high, such as 10 or more. Conversely, for the electronic product category, the maximum quantity condition per bundle can be set relatively low, such as less than 5. In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can manage the maximum quantity condition per bundle by setting a list for each category, and this list can be changed according to specific seasons or events.
[0056] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the maximum quantity condition per bundle based on the volume or weight of the bundled product. For example, products such as toilet paper have no separate expiration date and are used continuously, so purchasing them in bulk can reduce the frequency of repurchases, which can be convenient. However, toilet paper, when purchased in large quantities, takes up a large volume, which can hinder storage by the user and transportation by the delivery company. Therefore, the maximum quantity condition per bundle for bulky products can be limited to a certain level. Another example is bottled water, which has a long shelf life and is used continuously, and is therefore often purchased in large quantities. However, purchasing bottled water in large quantities can hinder transportation by the delivery company due to its weight. Therefore, the maximum quantity condition per bundle for heavy products can be limited to a certain level.
[0057] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the maximum quantity condition per bundle based on the expiration date of the bundled products. For example, health supplements such as food or vitamins have a set expiration date. Even if a user consistently consumes these products, purchasing large quantities can make it difficult to consume them within the expiration date. Therefore, users typically purchase fewer than a certain number of such products. Therefore, determining the maximum quantity condition per bundle based on the expiration date of the bundled products can efficiently manage the workload of e-commerce service providers involved in generating bundled product information.
[0058] The factors for determining the maximum quantity condition of products per bundle by the electronic device (100) are not limited to the above-described embodiments, and the maximum quantity condition of products per bundle may be determined based on various factors that an e-commerce service provider or user may consider in relation to the quantity of products purchased.
[0059] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the quantity of products per bundle based on the maximum price condition of the bundled product. As the quantity of products per bundle increases, the amount a user must pay per bundle purchase increases. If the price of a bundled product exceeds a certain level, it may be burdensome for the user to purchase the bundled product. Therefore, the price of the bundled product needs to be limited to a certain level. For example, if the price condition of a bundled product is set to 100,000 won, the quantity of products per bundle can be determined so that the price of the bundled product remains 100,000 won or less. In this case, for products with relatively low unit prices, the quantity of products per bundle can be set relatively high, and for products with relatively high unit prices, the quantity of products per bundle can be set relatively low.
[0060] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) can determine the maximum price condition for a bundled product based on the category of the bundled product. Depending on the product category, a user may be willing to spend a different amount at a time. For example, a user may spend relatively more than 100,000 won at a time on vitamins, while spending 100,000 won at a time on stationery may be relatively less likely. Therefore, the maximum price condition for a bundled product can be set based on the category of the bundled product, and the quantity of products per bundle can be determined so that the price of the bundled product is below the maximum price condition.
[0061] The factors for determining the maximum price condition of a bundled product by the electronic device (100) are not limited to the above-described embodiments, and the maximum price condition of a bundled product may be determined based on various factors that may be considered in relation to the amount spent by an e-commerce service user when purchasing a product.
[0062] In step S230, the electronic device (100) can determine attribute information associated with the bundled product based on attribute information associated with the bundled target product and the quantity of products per bundle.
[0063] In one embodiment, the electronic device (100) may check first attribute information that varies depending on quantity among attribute information associated with a bundle target product, and determine the attribute value of the first attribute information of the bundle target product as a value obtained by multiplying the attribute value of the first attribute information of the bundle target product by the quantity of products per bundle.
[0064] In one embodiment, products sold through an e-commerce service may have attribute information associated with them, based on their characteristics. For example, beverage products may have attribute information such as quantity, unit quantity, total quantity, unit weight, and total weight. Referring to Figure 3a, which illustrates an example of attribute information for a lipstick product, attribute information such as quantity, total quantity, color, unit weight, total weight, and makeup type may be specified.
[0065] Some of the attribute information associated with a specific product may be attributes that need to be changed depending on the quantity of products per bundle when composing a bundle with the specific product as the bundle target product, while other attributes may not need to be changed even when composing a bundle. In the case of composing a beverage product as a bundle product as an example described above, the total quantity and total weight of the attribute information associated with the beverage product should be set to the value obtained by multiplying the quantity per unit and the weight per unit of the attribute information associated with one beverage product by the quantity per bundle. On the other hand, the quantity per unit and the weight per unit of the attribute information associated with the beverage product should be set to the same value as the quantity per unit and the weight per unit of the attribute information associated with one beverage product. Therefore, the electronic device (100) can determine the attribute information associated with the bundle product by multiplying the attribute information that varies depending on the quantity among the attribute information associated with the bundle target product confirmed in step S210 by the quantity of products per bundle confirmed in step S220.
[0066] In one embodiment, the first attribute information that varies depending on the quantity of products per bundle may be attribute information included in a preset list. By pre-designating attribute information that needs to be changed depending on the quantity of products for a specific product, the electronic device (100) can determine attribute information associated with the bundled product and generate information about the bundled product simply by checking the bundle target product and the quantity of products per bundle. For example, the attribute information included in the preset list may include at least one of total quantity, total capacity, total weight, and total number of units.
[0067] In one embodiment, attribute information associated with a bundled product may include at least product quantity information and total quantity information. When configuring a bundled product based on attribute information associated with the bundled product, quantity information and total quantity information are necessary to provide more accurate information to the user. For example, assuming a minimum sales unit of 8 hangers, the bundled product is a set of 8 hangers. The quantity of each bundled product is 1, the quantity per unit is 8, and the total quantity is 8. If this set of hangers is configured as a bundled product and the quantity per bundle is set to 2, the two sets of hangers will be configured as one bundled product. If the quantity is displayed as 2, the user may be confused as to whether they will receive 2 or 16 hangers when purchasing the bundled product. Therefore, when configuring this set of hangers as a bundled product, the total quantity of the products must be provided to the user. To this end, the quantity of the bundle product's attribute information is set to 2, the quantity per unit to 8, and the total quantity to 16, and the total quantity information is provided to the user, thereby preventing the user from being confused about the quantity of products when purchasing the bundle product.
[0068] In step S240, the electronic device (100) can provide a page including bundle product information generated based on attribute information associated with the bundle product to the user terminal (110).
[0069] In one embodiment, bundle product information may further include a first type of ID for the bundled product and a second type of ID for the bundled product. Multiple bundle products with the same bundled product share the first type of ID for the bundled product, while each of the multiple bundled products has a different second type of ID. Referring to Figure 3b, which illustrates an example of multiple bundled products with the same lipstick product as the bundled product, the multiple bundled products have different second type IDs depending on the quantity of products per bundle, but the first type of ID for the multiple bundled products is the same.
[0070] A page containing bundle product information provided to a user is described below with reference to FIG. 4.
[0071] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a page including bundle product information according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0072] Referring to FIG. 4A, a product detail information page (400) associated with a bundle product for a bundle target product A is illustrated. In one embodiment, the page (400) may include an area (410) including representative information about the bundle product, an area (420) including price information about the bundle product, an area (440) including bundle product options for the bundle target product A, an area (440) including detailed information about the bundle product, and an area (450) including an image about the bundle product.
[0073] In one embodiment, the representative information for a bundled product included in area (410) may be information displayed in product search results when a user searches for a product on an e-commerce service, and may include attribute information associated with the bundled product that the e-commerce service provider wants to provide to the user with priority. For example, the information included in area (410) may include, but is not limited to, the brand name, product name, weight per unit, and total quantity of the product, and may include information that must be provided to the user to prevent confusion when selecting a product. In addition, area (410) may include the star rating and number of reviews for the bundled product, and when a user input corresponding to the star rating or number of reviews is received, the user may be directed to a page where he or she can check reviews for the bundled product.
[0074] In one embodiment, pricing information for bundled products included in area (420) may be determined based on the pricing information for the bundled products, the quantity of products per bundle, and the discount rate. The price of a bundled product can be set by multiplying the price of the bundled product by the quantity of products per bundle. However, if the price of a bundled product is set by multiplying the price of the bundled product by the quantity of products per bundle, there may be no benefit to the user other than the relatively convenient ability to set quantity options. Therefore, offering a price discount for bundled products can encourage users to purchase bundled products, resulting in increased sales volume and improved inventory management.
[0075] In one embodiment, the discount rate applied to a bundled product can be set proportional to the quantity of products in the bundle. For example, a bundle consisting of two eligible products can have a 3% discount, a bundle consisting of three eligible products can have a 6% discount, and a bundle consisting of five eligible products can have a 12% discount. Setting the discount rate proportional to the quantity of products in a bundle encourages users to purchase large quantities of products with higher discount rates, resulting in increased sales and improved inventory management.
[0076] In one embodiment, the area (430) may include information about other bundled products that include the bundled product A of the bundled product displayed on the page (400). As described above, the bundled product information may include a first type of ID for the bundled product and a second type of ID for the bundled product. That is, bundled products that include the bundled product A as the bundled product share the first type of ID. Accordingly, the electronic device (100) may identify bundled products that have the first type of ID for the bundled product A and display the identified bundled products in the area (430) within the page (400).
[0077] Information about other bundled products displayed in area (430) may include at least total quantity information and price information for each bundled product. In one embodiment, if two or more bundled products have the same total quantity information, bundled product information for the bundled product with the lowest price among the two or more bundled products may be displayed to provide the user with the lowest price information for that bundled product.
[0078] As described above, by displaying information about other bundled products for the same bundled product on the product details page for a bundled product, users can view and compare quantity and price options for the product they wish to purchase at a glance, thereby improving the user experience. In one embodiment, in response to user input regarding other bundled products included in area (430), the user can be directed to the product details page for the bundled product selected by the user.
[0079] In one embodiment, the detailed information of a bundled product included in area (440) may include some of the information excluding representative information about the bundled product included in area (410) among the attribute information associated with the bundled product. An e-commerce service provider may select and provide the information to be displayed in area (440) among the attribute information of the bundled product.
[0080] In one embodiment, the image for the bundled product included in area (450) may be a representative image of the bundled product. Meanwhile, it is important for the bundled product to clearly indicate the total quantity of products included in the bundled product so that the user can purchase the desired quantity of products without confusion. To this end, the image for the bundled product may be set to an image that displays the total quantity of the bundled product included in the bundled product. More specifically, the image of the bundled product may be extracted, and images corresponding to the total quantity of products included in the bundle may be copied and generated, with one of the extracted images being an enlarged image and positioned at the center of the image, and displayed in area (450).
[0081] If a service provider were to directly perform the above-described process for each bundled product, the work could be very time-consuming. Therefore, the images for the bundled products included in area (450) may be images generated based on machine learning. More specifically, the process of extracting images of products corresponding to the bundled product and then copying the extracted images to create images equal to the total number of products included in the bundled product, with one of the extracted images being an enlarged image and positioned at the center of the image, can be learned through machine learning. This allows the service provider to significantly reduce the workload by generating images for the bundled products included in area (450) given the images of the products corresponding to the bundled product and the total number of products included in the bundled product.
[0082] In one embodiment, an image for a bundled product may include a badge for the bundled product. If the total quantity of products included in the bundled product increases, it may be difficult for a user to grasp the total quantity of products included in the image at a glance. Therefore, instead of displaying product images corresponding to the total quantity of products included in the bundled product, a representative image of the bundled product may be displayed, as shown in area (450) of FIG. 4B , while additionally displaying a badge (451) indicating the total quantity of products. In this case, the badge (451) may be generated by extracting the attribute value of the attribute information regarding the total quantity among the attribute information associated with the bundled product. In addition, since the unit for indicating the quantity of products varies depending on the type of product, such as 'piece', 'pack', 'bottle', or 'can', the unit value of the attribute information regarding the total quantity among the attribute information associated with the bundled product may be extracted and displayed together with the badge, thereby enabling more accurate display of information regarding the quantity of products.
[0083] In one embodiment, when a user requests to purchase a bundled product, the electronic device (100) can check the attribute value related to the total quantity of the bundled product among the attribute information of the bundled product. Furthermore, the electronic device (100) can identify logistics centers that hold inventory exceeding the specified quantity and, based on the delivery location corresponding to the user's purchase request, determine the logistics center from which the bundled product will be picked up. In this way, by having the product be picked up from a logistics center with sufficient inventory of the bundled product, the burden on delivery personnel can be reduced and faster delivery can be achieved.
[0084] Meanwhile, if no logistics center holds inventory exceeding the specified quantity, the electronic device (100) can determine multiple logistics centers from which to pick up bundled products based on the inventory and location of each logistics center, based on the user's purchase request. Furthermore, the electronic device (100) can further consider the delivery location corresponding to the user's purchase request when determining multiple logistics centers from which to pick up bundled products. In this way, by determining the logistics center from which to pick up products based on the inventory and location of each logistics center, delivery personnel can more efficiently pick up bundled products.
