Abstract
Description
[0001] mop cover
[0002] Field of the invention
[0003] The invention relates to a mop cover for a mop holder.
[0004] State of the art
[0005] Mops are used for cleaning floors. A mop head is detachably attached to a mop holder, allowing the mop head to be moved over the surface to be cleaned until the mop head has absorbed enough dirt that it needs to be cleaned and replaced with a fresh mop head when cleaning is continued.
[0006] State-of-the-art mop covers are used that have been specially developed for damp / wet cleaning and dry cleaning. During dry cleaning, the mop cover is moved over the surface to be cleaned, effectively removing loose, non-adhering dirt such as dust particles. During dry cleaning, no cleaning solution is used. The loose dirt is bound to the fibers of the mop cover. Dry cleaning is ideal for pre-cleaning polished or coated surfaces such as floor coverings, in order to remove loose dirt beforehand so that it cannot scratch the polished or coated surfaces during subsequent wet cleaning.During wet cleaning, the mop cover absorbs water and cleaning solution and is often squeezed out again in a suitable mop wringer before use, ensuring that only the desired amount of residual moisture remains in the mop cover, allowing for wet cleaning. Damp mopping or wet mopping using water and cleaning solution loosens stubborn dirt on the surface to be cleaned, allowing it to be more easily absorbed by the mop cover.
[0007] In practice, surfaces that frequently need to be cleaned are alternately dry-wiped and wet-cleaned, e.g. dry-cleaned three times a week and wet-cleaned twice a week.
[0008] For wet cleaning, mop covers with tufted or woven polyester or cotton fibers with open or closed fringes are often used.
[0009] Generally, a distinction is made between mop covers for dry cleaning and mop covers for damp / wet cleaning. In practice, however, there are cases where a combination of both methods is advantageous for solving the cleaning task.
[0010] Description of the invention
[0011] The invention is based on the object of proposing a mop cover for a mop holder which is equally suitable for wet and dry use.
[0012] This object is achieved by a mop cover for a mop holder with the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments follow from the remaining claims. The mop cover for a mop holder comprises a cover sheet and a wiping surface produced with the aid of weaving technology and comprising microfiber loops, wherein the microfiber loops comprise a first microfiber with a first fineness between 1.1 dtex and 1.3 dtex, and a second microfiber with a second fineness between 0.5 dtex and 0.7 dtex, wherein the second microfiber is water-absorbent. The cover sheet of the mop cover ensures greater stability of the mop cover and serves to absorb water and cleaning solution. By using a fine microfiber, the mop cover is very suitable for dry cleaning, since the microfiber is very effective at loosening dirt and absorbing dust and loose dirt particles without stirring up dust.At the same time, a second microfiber with a significantly lower fineness and correspondingly a significantly lower dtex value (low dtex value) is used, whereby the second microfibers are water-absorbent and are therefore suitable for damp and wet cleaning.
[0013] The mop cover has the advantage that a cleaner can perform both dry cleaning and damp or wet cleaning with a single mop cover. Dry cleaning is ideal for interval cleaning or pre-cleaning moisture-sensitive floors. The microfibers of the mop cover also polish the surfaces to be cleaned, making the mop cover ideal for ceramic tiles and textured surfaces, but also suitable for a wide variety of floor coverings.
[0014] The key advantage, however, is that a cleaner only needs a single mop cover, which saves time but also avoids application errors such as using the wrong mop cover for a particular cleaning task.
[0015] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the microfiber loops comprise first microfibers and second microfibers in a ratio of between 4:1 and 6:1, and preferably 5:1. This range has proven particularly favorable in tests. A smaller amount of water-absorbing second microfibers even has the advantage of increasing the water absorption of the mop cover.
[0016] The wiping surface is preferably made entirely of polyester, while the cover sheet is preferably made predominantly of polyester. The cover sheet thus has the ability to absorb increased amounts of liquid, but regulates this so that the wiping surface is not too moist. The use of polyester fibers for the wiping surface has the advantage that the wiping cover can be washed at 95°C and can be used in hygiene-sensitive areas such as hospitals and nursing homes.
[0017] It is further preferred that the cover sheet consists of cotton and polyester in a ratio of approximately 1:2. This ratio has also proven particularly suitable for both dry and wet wiping with regard to the hybrid properties of the mop cover according to the invention.
[0018] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mop cover has a substantially rectangular outer shape with two parallel long side edges and two parallel short side edges, and in the region of the short side edges on the side of the cover sheet facing away from the wiping surface, an insertion pocket is provided, the dimensions of which are adapted to the insertion of folding wings of a mop holder.
[0019] This design is further advantageous in that when the mop cover is in use it can be easily attached to a mop holder with folding wings, which results in a further time advantage when using it.
[0020] Furthermore, it is advantageous for the second microfiber to form the warp threads of the woven wiping surface. The warp threads are designed as loops when the wiping surface is woven.
[0021] The mop cover according to the invention has a surface performance of between 35m 2 and 40m 2 . Compared to conventional mop covers, this represents a high surface performance, which also leads to time savings in cleaning tasks when using the mop cover according to the invention.
[0022] Short description of the characters
[0023] The invention is described below purely by way of example using an embodiment, wherein
[0024] Fig. 1 is a view of the first main surface of a mop cover according to the invention; and
[0025] Fig. 2 is a view of the second main surface of the mop cover according to the invention, showing the wiping surface. Description of preferred embodiments
[0026] Figures 1 and 2 each show a mop cover according to the invention from both main surfaces. Figure 2 shows the wiping surface 12 of the mop cover 10, while Figure 1 shows the side facing away from the surface to be cleaned during use of the mop cover, which side shows the cover sheet 14.
[0027] The mop cover has a substantially rectangular shape with two long side edges 16a, 16b arranged substantially parallel to one another, and two short side edges 18a and 18b arranged substantially parallel to one another. A continuous surface intended for cleaning is provided on the wiping surface 12. The seam 20, by means of which the sheet-like structure consisting of the cover sheet and the wiping surface is folded over and sewn on the side facing away from the wiping surface 12 during manufacture, does not affect the cleaning properties of the wiping surface 12.
[0028] In the area of the cover sheet 14, in the area of the short side edges 18a and 18b, pockets 22a and 22b are provided, which, when using the mop cover 10 with a mop holder with folding wings, serve to accommodate the folding wings, so that the mop cover can be placed on the
[0029] Folding wing mop holder can be firmly clamped.
[0030] The wiping surface is manufactured using weaving technology and has warp threads that form loops. Two different microfibers with different finenesses are used. Microfibers with a fineness between 1.1 dtex and 1.3 dtex, and particularly preferably with a fineness of about 1.2 dtex, represent the first microfibers, while the second microfibers are water-absorbent and have a smaller diameter, between 0.5 dtex and 0.7 dtex, and particularly preferably of about 0.6 dtex.
[0031] The first microfibers and second microfibers are preferably provided in a ratio of 5:1, i.e. there are 5 times as many microfiber loops of the first microfiber as microfiber loops of the second microfiber.
[0032] The cover sheet, on the other hand, is made predominantly of polyester, with a cotton content of 35% compared to 65% polyester showing particularly good results.
[0033] The mop cover according to the invention is suitable for dry, damp, and wet cleaning, can be used on many different floor coverings, and also exhibits good gliding properties, meaning that only minimal effort is required to clean with the mop cover according to the invention, which means it can be used in a way that is gentle on your back. Due to its universal applicability and high surface performance compared to other mop covers with comparable dimensions, cleaning with the mop cover according to the invention takes less time and is also less prone to errors, since an unsuitable mop cover cannot be used for specific wet or dry cleaning tasks.
