Description

Heterogeneous Material Mixing Kit

[0001] The present invention relates to a heterogeneous material mixing kit that can safely and separately store a plurality of different materials that are mixed and used, and can conveniently mix and use the plurality of materials that are stored separately when used.

[0002] As is well known, various chemical or biochemical assays are used to measure biological markers associated with specific diseases, general health, or infections. These chemical or biochemical assays typically involve multistep chemical reactions and physical manipulations utilizing various reagents and instruments.

[0003] For example, when detecting biochemical substances such as occult blood, specific chemicals, or proteins contained in stool or mucus, multiple physical manipulations are required, including collecting a sample, placing the collected sample in a container, reacting the sample with one or more reagents, and then dispensing the reacted sample from the container before applying it to a testing / reading device.

[0004] The sample to be analyzed, for example, blood and a detection antibody labeled with a fluorescent material, and a solution (reagent) containing a red blood cell lysis reagent when whole blood is used, are mixed in a quantitative ratio and reacted, and the sample is loaded onto the sample pad of the analysis device or cartridge to perform analysis.

[0005] Solutions used in chemical or biochemical tests are often mixtures of multiple different substances. However, pre-mixing multiple substances used for disease diagnosis, etc., can easily deteriorate due to evaporation or moisture, making accurate diagnosis or analysis difficult. Therefore, they must be stored in separate containers. Furthermore, multiple substances stored separately are individually measured and mixed using instruments such as pipettes during testing. Alternatively, containers containing different substances to be mixed are opened according to a predetermined mixing ratio, poured into a single container, mixed, and then dispensed using a pipette.

[0006] Therefore, not only is it difficult to store various substances to be used as reagents, but the diagnostic or analytical work is also quite complicated.

[0007] Meanwhile, prior art document 1 discloses a dropper that can mix and dispense blood, broncholate latex balls, and a buffer solution using a single dropper, by having a tip portion that induces a capillary phenomenon at the lower end of an inlet tube containing a broncholate latex ball.

[0008] However, prior art document 1 has a problem in that it must be managed in separate packaging because the tip end is open due to the nature of the dropper, and it cannot be used when both substances to be mixed are liquids.

[0009] The present invention was created in consideration of the above-described conventional problems, and its goal is to provide a heterogeneous material mixing kit that can safely separate and store a plurality of different materials to be used as diagnostic or analysis reagents, and can easily mix and use the separated and stored heterogeneous materials when in use.

[0010] The tasks of the present invention are not limited to the tasks mentioned above, and other tasks not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.

[0011] In order to achieve the above-described task, a heterogeneous material mixing kit according to the present invention comprises: a first container member having a first filling space filled with a first material, a first shielding means for sealing an entrance of the first filling space, and a perforation member protruding axially by a predetermined length from an inner bottom of the first filling space; and a second container member having a second filling space filled with a second material, the second container member being inserted into the interior of the first container member through the entrance of the first container member when in use; wherein the second container member includes a second shielding means that shields one end of the second filling space but can be opened by the perforation member when the first and second container members are joined, and a third shielding means that shields the other end of the second filling space and can be opened when necessary.

[0012] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the second shielding means may be formed as a cut shielding member that is integrally formed with the second container member, but has a ring-shaped cut line corresponding to the inner circumferential surface of the second filling space on the edge so that the second container member can be cut by a perforation member when the first and second container members are joined.

[0013] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the cut-off shielding member may have an edge portion that is slanted and may be shaped to be concavely recessed into the inside of the second filling space.

[0014] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the second shielding means may be configured as a second sealing membrane that is pressed against one end of the second container member and through which the perforation member can penetrate when the first and second container members are joined.

[0015] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the perforation member may have a +-shaped, Y-shaped or T-shaped cross-section.

[0016] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the third shielding means may be a third sealing film in the form of a sticker that can be pressed or attached to the top of the second container member and peeled off, or a stopper that is openably and closably coupled to the top of the second container member.

[0017] According to the heterogeneous material mixing kit of the present invention, the first and second materials to be mixed with each other can be stored separately in the first and second container members that are mutually combined when used, so that a plurality of different materials to be mixed and used in chemical or biochemical tests, etc. can be safely stored in a separated state.

[0018] In addition, a plurality of substances stored separately can be easily mixed by a simple action of combining a second container member to a first container member during inspection or analysis, and the mixed solution can be easily withdrawn and dispensed using a pipette or the like by opening the stopper provided in the second container member.

[0019] Therefore, there is no need to use different containers or devices for storing and mixing multiple substances to be mixed for diagnosis or analysis.

[0020] In addition, since the plurality of substances to be mixed can be stored in a sealed state in the first and second container members, they can be safely stored and mixed not only when the plurality of substances are liquid and solid, but also when the substances are liquid and liquid, and there is an advantage in that heterogeneous substances can be stored and mixed regardless of the sampling volume.

[0030] Specific features and other advantages of the present invention, as well as methods for achieving them, will become clearer with reference to the embodiments described in detail below together with the accompanying drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed below and may be implemented in various different forms. These embodiments are provided only to ensure that the disclosure of the present invention is complete and to fully inform those skilled in the art of the scope of the invention, and the present invention is defined only by the scope of the claims. Like reference numerals designate like elements throughout the specification.

[0031] In an embodiment of the present invention, the first material and / or the second material may be a liquid or solid reaction reagent, and specifically may be, but is not limited to, silica particles, proteins, amino acids, nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates, metabolites, reagents used as supports, antibodies that selectively separate proteins, detectors, blockers, optical signal enhancers, optical signal quenchers, or other reagents.

[0032] Hereinafter, a heterogeneous material mixing kit according to embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0033]

[0034] In FIGS. 1 to 4, the heterogeneous material mixing kit (1) according to the present invention can be basically configured to include a first container member (10) and a second container member (20) inserted into the first container member (10).

[0035]

[0036] The first container member (10) can be filled with a first material (L1) in a sealed state and stored. The first container member (10) may be configured to include a tube-shaped body (11) having a first filling space (12) therein and a perforation member (15) that can open the second shielding means of the second container member (20) described later when combined with the second container member (20).

[0037] The body (11) can take the form of a long cylindrical tube for easy phasing and dispensing, and one end (top) of the body (11) is opened to function as an inlet (12a) of a first filling space (12). The inlet (12a) of the body (11) is closed by a first shielding means after filling of the first material (L1) so as to safely seal the first material (L1) filled inside.

[0038] The first shielding means may be implemented in various forms. For example, it may be composed of a conventional plug (not shown), or it may be composed of a first sealing film (18) pressed against one end of the body (11) as shown. Accordingly, a flange (13) may be provided facing outward at the end of the body (11) toward the inlet (12a) to ensure stable attachment of the first sealing film (18).

[0039] Here, the first sealing film (18) may be configured to be torn by the second container member (20) when the first container member (10) and the second container member (20) are joined, or may be in the form of a sticker that can be peeled off from the first container member (10) before joining the two; either is acceptable. The first material (L1) may be a liquid or a solid such as granules, and in this embodiment, a liquid is described as an example.

[0040] It is preferable that a ring-shaped first leak-prevention protrusion (14) (24a) be provided on at least one portion of the inner upper portion of the body (11) of the first container member (10) or the outer portion of the second container member (20). Preferably, for more reliable watertightness, it may be provided on both the inner portion of the first container member (10) and the outer portion of the second container member (20), and may also be provided in two or more portions spaced apart in the axial direction. As described below, the first leak-prevention protrusion (14) (24a) can prevent leakage of the mixed solution when the first and second container members (10) are combined and then shaken to mix the first and second materials (L1) (L2) within the first filling space (12). Meanwhile, instead of the first leak-prevention protrusion (14) (24a), an O-ring may be provided on the outer portion of the second container member (20).

[0041] The perforation member (15) may be formed integrally with the body (11). The perforation member (15) may be formed to protrude a predetermined length in the axial direction from the inner bottom (12b) of the first filling space (12). Specifically, when the first container member (10) and the second container member (20) are completely joined, the front end of the perforation member (15) is formed to have a length that can sufficiently penetrate the second shielding means of the second container member (20) described later and enter the second filling space (22).

[0042] This perforation member (15) can be configured in various forms, but it is preferable that it be formed in a structure in which, after the second shielding means is opened, the second material (L2) filled in the second filling space (22) of the second container member (20) can easily flow into the first filling space (12) of the first container member (10). In particular, as shown in FIGS. 6 to 8, when the second shielding means of the second container member (20) described below is configured as a perforable second sealing film (25), it may be preferable that the perforation member (15) have a structure in which the second sealing film (25) can be easily torn by the bonding force between the first and second container members (10) (20) when they are joined. For this purpose, the perforation member (15) can be configured to have a +-shaped cross-section with, for example, four ribs (ribs: 16) radially formed as shown in the drawing. This is because forming a +-shaped cross-section rather than a straight or circular one is advantageous not only for tearing the second sealing film (25), but also advantageous in forming a gap between the second sealing film (25) and the perforation member (15) after perforation.

[0043] In addition, although not shown separately, the perforation member (15) may be configured with a Y-shaped cross-section or a T-shaped cross-section. This configuration, like the one formed with the +-shaped cross-section described above, is advantageous in tearing the second sealing film (25) and may be advantageous in forming a gap between the second sealing film (25) and the perforation member (15) after perforation.

[0044] Meanwhile, the other end (bottom) of the first container member (10) may be provided with a support (17) so that the first container member (10) can be safely placed upright when combined with the second container member (20) during dispensing using a pipette (P), etc.

[0045]

[0046] The second container member (20) has a second filling space (22) so as to seal and store the second material (L2) to be mixed with the first material (L1). The second filling space (22) can be formed by axially penetrating a cylindrical body (21). The lower opening (22b: the side fitted into the first container member) of the second filling space (22) can be sealed by a second shielding means that can be opened by a perforation member (15) when the first and second container members (10) (20) are coupled. In addition, the upper opening (22a) of the second filling space (22) can be sealed by a third shielding means that can be opened when necessary (when in use). A flange (23) is provided on the upper outer periphery of the body (21) so as to stably contact and support the third shielding means. And the second material (L2) may also be a liquid or a solid such as granules, and in this embodiment, it is described as an example of a liquid, like the first material (L1).

[0047] The second shielding means may be formed as a cut-off shielding member (26) that is formed integrally with the second container member (20), for example, and can be cut from the second container member (20) by a perforation member (15) when the first and second container members (10) (20) are joined.

[0048] The cutting shielding member (26) may be configured as a disc-shaped member integrally formed on the inner surface of the lower opening (22b) of the second filling space (22), and may have a ring-shaped cutting line (27) corresponding to the inner surface of the second filling space (22) on the edge. The cutting line (27) has a very thin thickness compared to the thickness of the cutting shielding member (27) by a cutting guide groove (27a) formed by being introduced into the surface of the cutting shielding member (26), so that the cutting shielding member (27) can be easily torn and cut by the force applied to the cutting shielding member (27) by the perforation member (15) when the first and second container members (10) (20) are coupled. It may be preferable that the cutting guide groove (27a) be formed on the side that comes into contact with the perforation member (15).

[0049] This cutting shielding member (26) may be formed in a flat shape, but it may be preferable to take a shape that is concavely recessed into the inside of the second filling space (22) so that it can be cut more easily when the first and second container members (10) (20) are combined. To this end, the cutting shielding member (27) may be formed with an inclined portion (28) whose edge portion is appropriately inclined toward the second filling space (22), and may have a concave portion (29) on the lower surface where the tip of the perforation member (15) can be seated.

[0050] The third shielding means may be configured as a stopper (30) that can open and close the upper opening (22a) of the second container member (20), for example. The stopper (30) may be configured to include a disc-shaped shielding portion (31) that contacts the flange (23) of the second container member (20) and a cylindrical fitting portion (32) that protrudes from the lower surface of the shielding portion (31) and fits into the second filling space (22) through the upper opening (22a) of the second container member (20). A second leakage prevention protrusion (33) (24b) may be provided on at least one of the outer periphery of the fitting portion (32) of the stopper (30) or the upper inner periphery of the second filling space (22) of the second container member (20). The second leak prevention protrusion (33)(24b) prevents the second material (L2) filled in the second filling space (22) from leaking during storage, and may be provided on both the outer circumference of the fitting (32) and the inner circumference of the second filling space (22) for more reliable leakage prevention.

[0051] And, an opening / closing guide tab (34) may be provided on one side of the shielding portion (31) of the stopper (30) so that the stopper (30) can be easily opened / closed. This stopper (30) may be configured separately from the second container member (20), or may be configured to be integrally connected by a connecting tab (40) as shown.

[0052] Meanwhile, as shown in Fig. 6, the third shielding means may be configured as a sticker-shaped third sealing film (50) that is pressed or attached to the upper end of the second container member (20) and can be peeled off from the second container member (20) when in use, that is, after the first and second container members (10) (20) are mutually connected.

[0053]

[0054] A method of using the heterogeneous material mixing kit (1) of the present invention is described in conjunction with FIG. 5.

[0055] First, the first sealing film (18) sealing the inlet (12a) of the first container member (10) is peeled off and removed, or the second container member (20) is fitted into the opened inlet (12a) of the first container member (10) while the first sealing film (18) is still attached. Then, the second container member (20) is inserted into the first filling space (12) of the first container member (10), so that the two can be integrally connected. At this time, when the second container member (20) is fitted while the first sealing film (18) is still attached, the first sealing film (18) is torn by the first container member (20), so that the two can be integrally connected.

[0056] At the same time, the tip of the perforation member (15) comes into contact with the lower surface of the cut-off shield member (26) of the second container member (20) and applies pressure, whereby the cut line (27) formed at the edge of the cut-off shield member (26) is torn and cut from the second container member (20), thereby opening the lower opening (22b) of the second container member (20). Then, the first and second filling spaces (12) (22) are connected to each other, so that the second material (L2) filled in the second filling space (22) of the second container member (20) can easily flow into the first filling space (12) of the first container member (10) through the open lower opening (22b) of the second container member (20).

[0057] In this state, if the mutually combined heterogeneous material mixing kit (1) of the present invention is appropriately shaken, the first material (L1) and the second material (L2) can be reliably mixed within the first filling space (12) of the first container member (10).

[0058] Next, the third shielding means of the second container member (20) coupled to the first container member (10) is opened. At this time, if the third shielding means is composed of a stopper (30), the stopper (30) is opened, and if it is composed of a third sealing film, it is peeled off and removed from the second container member (20). Then, the upper opening (22a) of the second filling space (22) of the second container member (20) is opened, thereby allowing the first filling space (12) to be opened. In this state, it is possible to insert a tool such as a pipette (P) into the first filling space (12) through the second filling space (22) of the opened second container member (20) to withdraw and dispense the mixed solution.

[0059]

[0060] Figures 7 to 9 illustrate another embodiment of the second shielding means of the heterogeneous material mixing kit (1) according to the present invention.

[0061] This embodiment is a configuration in which, in the configuration of the above-described embodiment, the second shielding means is pressed against the lower end of the second container member (20), and is formed of a second sealing film (25) through which the perforation member (15) can penetrate when the first and second container members (10) (20) are joined.

[0062] An embodiment of this configuration is as shown in FIG. 8, when the first and second container members (10) (20) are joined, the second sealing film (25) is torn and penetrated by the perforation member (15), and accordingly, the second filling space (22) is connected to the first filling space (12) through the inlet hole (25a) perforated in the second sealing film (25), so that the second material (L2) can be introduced into the first filling space (12).

[0063]

[0064] Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the present invention can be implemented in other specific forms without altering its technical spirit or essential characteristics. Therefore, the embodiments described above should be understood as illustrative in all respects and not restrictive. The scope of the present invention is indicated by the claims below rather than the detailed description above, and all changes or modifications derived from the meaning and scope of the claims and their equivalents should be construed as being included within the scope of the present invention.
