Description

COMPOSITION FOR CARING FOR KERATIN MATERIALS AND MASK COMPRISING THE SAMETECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a composition and a mask containing the same. In particular, the present invention relates to a composition for caring for keratin materials, and a mask comprising the same. The present invention also relates to a non-therapeutic process for caring for keratin materials.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] In cosmetic industry, laminated nonwoven is widely used in sheet mask products to provide good occlusion.

[0003] The most common occlusive films for sheet mask products are made by polyethylene (PE) , polypropylene (PP) , polyurethane (PU) or aluminate foil. To be more environment friendly, nature saccharide mask film becomes one direction to be considered. In the market, the most well-known nature polymer film is cellulose film, but it is very rigid and not able to be laminated on the non-woven without chemical adherence.

[0004] Nature solid hydrogel made by different types of polysaccharides is widely used as a mask sheet, it is able to be coated on the non-woven by heat compression without any chemical adherence.

[0005] The challenges to use solid hydrogel to be lamination material is the surface stickiness. Since solid hydrogel is normally made from different polysaccharides containing high level of hydroxyl, which will cause stickiness on the surface of the hydrogel. This is the reason why the laminated film is not easy to be unfold as a mask tissue.

[0006] Therefore, it is desired to decrease the stickiness of the hydrogel surface.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a solution for decrease the stickiness of the surface of hydrogel intended for mask products.

[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a non-therapeutic process for caring for keratin materials.

[0112] wherein the weight ratio of the at least one nonionic polysaccharide to the at least one ionic polysaccharide is from 1: 3 to 4: 1.

[0113] The composition according to the present invention is intended to be used in combination with a water-insoluble mask tissue.

[0114] According to the second aspect, the present invention provides a mask, preferably for caring for keratin materials, comprising:

[0115] A) a water-insoluble mask tissue, and

[0116] B) the composition according to the first aspect of the present invention on the water-insoluble mask tissue.

[0117] Water-insoluble mask tissue

[0118] For the purpose of the invention, the term “water-insoluble” means that the mask tissue is not dissolvable in water and it doesn’t break apart upon immersion in water.

[0119] The skilled in the art can choose a suitable mask tissue and the weight ratio of the mask tissue used and the composition according to the present invention based on the nature of the composition.

[0120] The mask tissue can be a woven, knitted, or non-woven fabric made of natural fibers such as cotton, pulp, bamboo, cellulose, alginate, collage, and protein, semi-natural fibers such as viscose rayon fibers, or synthetic fibers such as polyester fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polyethylene fibers, and polypropylene fibers. Two or more selected from the above fibers may be used in combination.

[0121] The mask tissue may be consisted of one or more layers. If a multilayer tissue is used, the material of each layer may be the same or different from each other. The multilayer tissue can be prepared by laminating multiple layers made from the materials mentioned above.

[0122] The mask tissue can have a wide variety of shapes, depending on the desired use and characteristic of the mask.

[0123] The mask tissue is typically designed to fit the area to which topical application is desired. For example, when the mask is applied to the face, the mask tissue is designed to correspond to the shape of the face avoiding the eye, nostril, and mouth areas, as  necessary.

[0124] The skilled in the art can determine the thickness and the texture of the mask tissue based on the intended purpose.

[0125] Preparation and use

[0126] The composition and mask according to the present invention can be prepared by routine practise.

[0127] Preferably, the composition according to the present invention is in the form of hydrogel.

[0128] The composition and mask according to the present invention are intended for topical application and can especially be used for caring for keratin materials, and especially human skin.

[0129] According to the third aspect, the present invention provides a non-therapeutic process for caring for keratin materials, comprising applying the mask according to the present invention to the keratin materials.

[0130] In particular, the keratin materials are facial skin and / or eye skin.

[0131] Examples

[0132] The present invention is illustrated in greater detail by the examples described below, which are given as non-limiting illustrations.

[0136] Compositions of invention examples (IE. ) 1-6 and comparative examples (CE. ) 1-2 were prepared according to the amounts of components given in Table 2. The amount of each component is given in%by weight of the total weight of the composition containing it.

[0137] Table 2

[0138] Compositions of invention examples 1-6 represent compositions of the present invention.

[0139] Composition of comparative example 1 comprises ethyl lauroyl arginate HCl instead of at least one preservative selected from chlorophenyl glyceryl ethers, aromatic ketone compounds represented by chemical formula (I) , and a combination thereof.

[0140] Composition of comparative example 2 comprises at least one nonionic polysaccharide and at least one ionic polysaccharide with the weight ratio of the at least one nonionic polysaccharide to the at least one ionic polysaccharide lower than 1: 5.

[0141] Preparation of compositions

[0142] The compositions above were prepared as follows:

[0143] 1) introducing salicylic acid, chlorphenesin or hydroxyacetophenone or Ethyl lauroyl arginate HCl, into water at the temperature of 80℃ by stirring to obtain mixture A;

[0144] 2) mixing glucomannan and xanthan gum in glycerin at room temperature with stirring to obtain mixture B; and

[0145] 3) mixing mixture A and mixture B at the temperature of 80℃ with stirring to obtain hydrogels.

[0146] Preparation of masks

[0147] The hydrogels obtained above were warmed at 80℃ for 30 minutes and coated on top of a fabric made from cellulose using a coating machine to form a film with a thickness of 0.3 mm, so as to obtain masks.

[0148] Evaluation

[0149] The stickiness on the surface of each hydrogel was evaluated as follows.

[0150] 50g of a hydrogel at 80℃ was poured in a vessel with a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 60 mm, cooled down to room temperature and maintained for 24 hours.

[0151] An artificial leather (available as Supplare from the company Komatsu seiren) on top of a probe (P20) on a texture analyser (Model: Stable Micro Systems TAXT Plus from the company Xiamen Lotun science co., Ltd) .

[0152] The probe was lower down to 1 cm above the hydrogel surface. The testing program was started, the probe continually moved on 25 mm, and came backwards until separation. The force between the probe and the surface of the hydrogel was detected and recorded. The lowest point force was used to evaluate the stickiness of the hydrogels surface, the lower the value, the less sticky. When the force>8 N, the hydrogel is considered to be sticky.

[0153] The stickiness of surface of the hydrogels formed from the compositions of comparative examples and inventive examples is listed in Table 3.

[0154] Table 3

[0155] It can be seen that the surface of the hydrogels formed from composition according to the present invention is not sticky.
