Description

Tape-like strap and its attachment

[0001] The present invention relates to a tape-like strap to be attached to a board-like member and an attachment tool for the same.

[0002] A board-like member, for example, is used as a lid to cover a recessed space for storing luggage provided in the rear interior of a wagon-type automobile, and a tape-like strap is fixed to one end of the lid so that a user can easily open and close the lid made of the board-like member. This tape-like strap protrudes in a loop from the surface of the lid so that a user can hook their finger on it to raise and lower the lid.

[0003] Figure 13 shows a conventional method for fastening a tape-like strap, in which both ends of the tape-like strap are inserted from the front to the back of the strap insertion hole provided in the board-like member (insertion in the opposite direction is also possible), and then both ends are fastened to the back of the board-like member using rivets or the like.

[0004] According to the above-mentioned method of attaching a tape-like strap, both ends of the tape-like strap are fixed to the back surface of the board-like member with rivets, which requires the rivets to be crimped. In addition, the force applied during crimping may damage the board-like member, and in some cases, the board-like member may even be broken.

[0005] The tape-like strap can also be fixed to the back surface of the board-like member by adhesive or sewing, but these methods also require adhesive application, drying, sewing, and other processes.

[0006] Furthermore, if the tape strap deteriorates over time or is damaged for some reason, it is not easy to replace it.

[0007] Furthermore, the end of the tape-like strap is exposed, which causes a problem of poor appearance.

[0008] Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-80204 Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2009-285298 Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2007-325619

[0009] The object of the present invention is to provide a tape-like strap and its attachment tool that can be easily attached and detached to a board-like member without requiring rivets and their caulking or other bonding / fixing processes, that allows for easy replacement of the tape-like strap and attachment tool, and that does not damage the board-like member.

[0010] In order to achieve the above object, the tape-like strap and its attachment device according to the present invention are a tape-like strap and its attachment device for attachment to a board-like member, wherein one opening is formed on each end of the length of the tape-like strap, and the attachment device comprises: a flange portion that comes into surface contact with the surface of the board-like member; at least two strap hook portions that are inserted into at least one insertion and fixing hole provided in the board-like member and inserted into the openings of the tape-like strap; locking portions that are provided at the tips of the strap hook portions and that either directly lock onto the back surface of the board-like member or lock onto a backing plate installed on the back surface of the board-like member; and a strap insertion hole into which the tape-like strap is inserted.

[0011] In one embodiment, the flange portion, the strap hook portion, and the locking portion of the attachment fixture are integrally molded from resin.

[0012] In one embodiment, the locking portion is formed in a claw shape that locks onto the back surface of the board-shaped member or the backing plate, and the backing plate has a locking portion insertion hole into which the locking portion is inserted.

[0013] In one embodiment, the engaging portions are elastically biased in directions moving away from each other when fixed directly to the back surface of the board-like member, and are elastically biased in directions moving toward or away from each other when fixed to the backing plate installed on the back surface of the board-like member.

[0014] In one embodiment, one or more spacers for adjusting the distance are included between the back surface of the board-shaped member and the engaging portion, or between the back surface of the board-shaped member and the backing plate.

[0015] In one embodiment, the spacer is a cushion material having elasticity.

[0016] In one embodiment, the flange portion has a rectangular shape, a rounded rectangular shape, an oval shape, or a circular shape in a plan view.

[0017] With the tape-like strap and its attachment device according to the present invention configured as described above, the tape-like strap and its attachment device can be easily fixed (set) by simply inserting them into the insertion and fixing hole provided in the board-like member to which they are to be attached. This eliminates the need for a separate riveting process as in the prior art, and significantly reduces the time required for the fixing operation.

[0018] Furthermore, during attachment, no large external force is applied to the board-shaped member as occurs during riveting, so the board-shaped member is not damaged or broken.

[0019] Furthermore, even if either the tape-like strap or the attachment deteriorates over time or is damaged for some reason, it can be easily replaced with a new one.

FIG. 13 is a perspective view showing the mounting fixture of the first embodiment. FIG. 14 is a cross-sectional view in the X-X direction of FIG. 5. FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which a tape-shaped strap is attached to a board-shaped member using the mounting fixture of the second embodiment. FIG. 16 is a perspective view showing a backing seat. FIG. 17 is a cross-sectional view in the Y-Y direction of FIG. 9. FIG. 18 is a cross-sectional view showing an example in which a spacer is used in the mounting fixture of the second embodiment. FIG. 19 is a view showing another form of a strap hooking part. FIG. 19 is a view showing the prior art.

[0021] An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to Figures 1 to 12. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described below, and includes all other configurations within the scope of the configurations set forth in the claims.

[0022] Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a state in which a tape-shaped strap 1 is attached to a mounting fixture 2, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the tape-shaped strap 1. The tape-shaped strap 1 has one opening 1-1 at each of its left and right end regions for inserting a strap hook 2-2, which will be described later.

[0023] 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which a tape-like strap 1 is attached to a board-like member A using a mounting fixture 2 according to the first embodiment. The mounting fixture 2 is pressed into an insertion and fixing hole B provided in the board-like member A by its own elastic force (the elastic force of the strap hooking portion 2-2), causing the tape-like strap 1 to protrude from the strap insertion hole 2-4 onto the surface of the board-like member A and to be directly fixed to the back surface of the board-like member A by the locking portion 2-3.

[0024] 4 is a perspective view showing the state in which the strap hook portion 2-2 has been inserted into the opening 1-1 of the tape-shaped strap 1, and shows the state in which it is prepared for insertion before the attachment device 2 is attached to the board-shaped member A. The center portion of the tape-shaped strap 1 that is folded back is passed through the strap insertion hole 2-4 from the back side to the front side.

[0025] 5 and 6 are a perspective view and a cross-sectional view in the X-X direction shown in the perspective view of the mounting fixture 2. The mounting fixture 2 has a flange 2-1 at its top that is placed on the surface of the board-like member A, two strap hooks 2-2 that are inserted into openings 1-1 of the tape-like strap 1, two locking portions 2-3 at the tips of the strap hooks 2-2 for fixing (setting) the tape-like strap 1 to the back surface of the board-like member A, and a strap insertion hole 2-4 (insertion space for the tape-like strap 1) in the center that allows the tape-like strap 1 to protrude onto the surface of the board-like member A.

[0026] The flange 2-1, strap hook 2-2, and latch 2-3 that make up the mounting fixture 2 are integrally molded from resin. The planar shape of the flange is appropriately designed to be rectangular, rounded rectangular, oval, circular, or other shape depending on the shape of the insertion and fixing hole B provided in the board-shaped member A.

[0027] The two engaging portions 2-3 are claw-shaped (hook-shaped) as shown in Figures 3 to 6 in order to be fixed directly to the back surface of the board-shaped member A, and are configured to face in opposite directions, and in the state shown in Figure 3, are elastically biased in directions away from each other.

[0028] 7 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which a tape-like strap 1 is attached to a board-like member A using a mounting fixture 2 and a backing plate according to a second embodiment. The mounting fixture 2 is fixed to the board-like member A via a backing plate 3 provided on the back surface of the board-like member A.

[0029] Figure 8 is a perspective view showing the structure of the backing plate 3, which is configured as a shallow rectangular box overall, with two parallel locking part insertion holes 3-1 provided at the bottom for passing the strap hanging part 2-2 and the locking part 2-3 through. Note that although the backing plate 3 is in the shape of a shallow rectangular box in the example shown in Figure 8, it may also be in the shape of a circular box, an oval box, a square box, or a rectangular box with rounded corners.

[0030] 9 and 10 are a perspective view and a cross-sectional view in the Y-Y direction shown in the perspective view of the mounting fixture 2. As in the first embodiment, the mounting fixture 2 has a flange 2-1 at its top that is placed on the surface of the board-like member A, and two strap hooks 2-2 that are inserted into openings 1-1 in the tape-like strap 1, and is also composed of two locking parts 2-3 that are press-fitted by their own elastic force into locking part insertion holes 3-1 provided in the backing plate 3 to fix (set) it to the backing plate 3.

[0031] In the first embodiment, the two claw-shaped locking portions 2-3 are configured to face in opposite directions and are elastically biased in directions away from each other. However, in the second embodiment, the two claw-shaped locking portions 2-3 are configured to face each other and are elastically biased in directions toward each other. This configuration simplifies the mold used for integral resin molding. Of course, the two locking portions 2-3 in the second embodiment may also face in opposite directions and be elastically biased in directions away from each other, as in the first embodiment. In this case, the locking portion insertion hole 3-1 may be configured as one large hole instead of two parallel holes.

[0032] 7, by using the backing plate 3, both ends of the tape-like strap 1 can be stored between the inside of the backing plate and the back surface of the board-like member A, which gives the product a neat and tidy appearance and prevents the ends of the tape-like strap 1 from coming into contact with the stored items and becoming damaged or deteriorated. In this case, because the engaging portions 2-3 are not directly fixed to the board-like member A, it is possible to prevent damage to the board-like member A and the attachment 2 from falling off.

[0033] 11 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which a tape-like strap 1 is attached to a board-like member A using a mounting fixture 2, a backing plate 3, and a spacer 4 according to a third embodiment. The mounting fixture 2 is fixed to the board-like member A via the backing plate 3 provided on the back surface of the board-like member A as explained in the second embodiment, but in this embodiment, a spacer 4 is used between the back surface of the board-like member A and the backing plate 3. This spacer 4 is made of a resilient cushioning material.

[0034] The third embodiment assumes various cases in which the thickness of the board-shaped member A is different, and the distance (length) between the flange 2-1 and the engaging portion 2-3 is set to the maximum expected thickness, and when the thickness of the board-shaped member A is thinner than the maximum thickness, a spacer 4 is used to absorb any looseness between the board-shaped member A and the fixture 2. One or more cushioning materials may be used as the spacer 4.

[0035] 11 shows an example in which the spacer 4 is applied to the example of the second embodiment using the backing plate 3, but it may also be used when the fastening portion 2-3 of the first embodiment is directly fixed to the back surface of the board-like member A. In this case, by using a spacer between both ends of the tape-like strap 1 and the fastening portion 2-3, it is possible to prevent both ends of the tape-like strap 1 from being exposed to the outside.

[0036] In each of the above embodiments, the tape-shaped strap 1 is configured to be caught between the board-shaped member A and the strap hooking portion 2-2 so as not to slip out of the insertion fixing hole B. However, as shown in FIG. 12, for example, it is also possible to form a step 2-2-2 from the middle portion of the strap hooking portion 2-2 to the tip side as a narrow portion 2-2-1 that is approximately the same width as the opening 1-1 of the tape-shaped strap 1, and to prevent slipping out by hooking the tape-shaped strap 1 around the opening 1-1 on this step 2-2-2.

[0037] (Other examples of use) In each of the above-mentioned embodiments, an example is shown in which one insertion and fixing hole B is provided in the board-like member A, one tape-like strap 1 is looped, and both left and right ends of the loop are fastened to two strap hooking portions of one mounting fixture 2. However, for example, it is also possible to provide two insertion and fixing holes B spaced apart on the left and right sides of the board-like member A, insert mounting fixtures 2 into the two left and right insertion and fixing holes B, respectively, and insert the openings of the tape-like strap 1 into one strap hooking portion of each mounting fixture 2, thereby using the tape-like strap 1 as a long handle-like strap (not shown).

[0038] Furthermore, it is also possible to provide insertion and fixing holes B in four places (four corners) of the board-like member A, insert the mounting fixtures 2 into the four insertion and fixing holes B, insert the openings of four tape-like straps 1 into the two strap hooking portions of each mounting fixture 2, and run the four long, handle-like tape-like straps 1 along the periphery of the board-like member A (not shown). In this case, it is sufficient for the mounting fixture 2 to have three strap hooking portions 2-2 and three locking portions 2-3 at their tips, but the number of strap hooking portions 2-2 may be two or four, and is not limited to this.

[0039] The board-shaped member is not limited to the one used as a cover for the luggage storage recess of a wagon-type automobile as described in the prior art, but may be any board-shaped member to which a tape-shaped strap can be attached. Furthermore, the tape-shaped strap and its attachment tool according to the present invention can also be applied to paper, resin, or cloth carrier bags and other luggage that have a carrying strap.

[0040] As described above, with the tape-like strap and its attachment tool according to the present invention, the tape-like strap and its attachment tool can be easily fixed (set) by simply inserting them into the insertion and fixing holes provided in the board-like member to which they are to be attached. This eliminates the need for a separate riveting process as in the prior art, and significantly reduces the time required for the fixing work.

[0041] Furthermore, during attachment, no large external force is applied to the board-shaped member as occurs during riveting, so the board-shaped member is not damaged or broken.

[0042] Furthermore, even if either the tape-like strap or the attachment deteriorates over time or is damaged for some reason, it can be easily replaced with a new one.

[0043] This application claims priority from Japanese Patent Application No. 2023-201470, filed on November 29, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
