[0001] WIND TURBINE PROVIDING HIGH EFFICIENCY AT LOW WIND SPEED

[0002] Field of the Invention

[0003] The present invention relates to a wind turbine that generates electricity by converting kinetic energy into electrical energy, operates at high efficiency with lower wind speed compared to existing wind turbines, provides low cost and convenience in terms of logistics and installation, and is sensitive to the environment and living things.

[0004] Prior Art

[0005] Wind turbine is a system that converts the kinetic energy in the wind into electrical energy. Basically, it directs the mechanical energy (kinetic energy) obtained by the pushing power of the wind to the generators and converts it into electrical energy. Wind energy, one of the most preferred renewable energy sources in the world, allows the production of electrical energy without emitting greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These modern and electromechanical windmills are one of the easiest ways to convert the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy.

[0006] Wind turbine generally comprises tower, blades, rotor, gear box, generator (alternator) and electrical-electronic elements. The kinetic energy of the wind is converted into rotational kinetic energy in the rotor. The rotation movement of the rotor shaft is accelerated and transferred to the alternator in the body. Electrical energy obtained from the alternator is stored through batteries or delivered directly to receivers.

[0007] Although wind turbines have a simple operating logic, they can produce high amounts of electricity. While the production capacity of the first wind turbines was in the range of 20-30 kW, modern turbines used today can produce electricity at the MW level. Horizontal axis wind turbine types are generally preferred in electricity production. Wind turbines also have vertical axis and inclined axis types. The average lifespan is around 25 years. The environment where the wind turbine is located, weather conditions and the quality of the production material; are the most important factors that determine its lifespan.

[0008] Today, wind turbines are becoming an increasingly important source of intermittent renewable energy and are used in many countries to lower energy costs and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The same efficiency may not always be achieved in electricity production with wind energy. Changes in wind intensity also affect the amount of production. During periods of high wind strength, turbines are slowed down to prevent damage to the generator. In some periods, low wind intensity may not allow efficient electricity production. In the state of the art, there are systems such as HAWT, Savonius, Darreus and H-Rotor that generate electricity with wind. The systems mentioned are turbine models that work only with wind, and high-speed wind is required for storage. In addition, their efficiency is low, and they operate noisily due to their nature. It is also known that it is harmful to the environment and living things. For this reason, new designs, inventions and technical improvements are being made to provide solutions to the problems described.

[0009] When the developments made regarding Wind Turbines and the patent applications made in connection with these developments are examined, it is seen that many developments have been made on the subject. For example, Patent Application No. TR 2020 / 13862 on “High efficiency automatic transmission wind turbine” relates to an automatic transmission wind turbine that can be used in the production of electrical energy at high efficiency without reducing the speed of high winds by eliminating the need for a brake device, characterized by comprising; at least one automatic transmission that adjusts the rotation torque transmitted by the shaft of the wings rotating with wind energy to high or low speed, bevel gear positioned on the output shaft of the automatic transmission, at least one alternator positioned within the body and tower in a way that it is associated with the shafts connected to the bevel gears, at least one oil pump positioned in the casing and tower to send oil to the automatic gearbox and the engines in the turbine, at least one oil tank associated with the oil pump, at least one compressor positioned in the casing and tower to perform the speed reduction and increase operations of the automatic gearboxes in the turbine, at least one air tank associated with the compressor, at least one laser focusing plate positioned around the perimeter of the tower, at least one laser eye that sends signals to the blade direction motors, and at least one weight flywheel that fixes the rotational speeds of the shafts in the tower. However, the invention described in the referenced patent is an automatic transmission developed to benefit from high wind speed and provide high efficiency in order to solve a different problem.

[0010] Another patent application with the number 2020 / 00766 “Vertical Axis Wind T urbine Blade with High Efficiency” is related to a blade that operates in a vertical axis wind turbine regardless of the direction of the wind, is little affected by turbulent wind, and has parameters such as hump, cup and tail angle of the blade profile, where optimum performance can be obtained by systematically changing the effective parameters on blade performance depending on an experimental matrix. In the patent application cited, it is aimed to increase efficiency by angling standard wind turbine blades.

[0011] In order to eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages when the above-mentioned current requirement and the application of the state of the art are examined, the inventor hereby develops a wind turbine designed for electricity generation with high efficiency at low wind speed, which does not harm the environment and flying creatures, does not create noise pollution.

[0039] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0040] In this detailed explanation, the wind turbine (A), which provides high efficiency at low wind speed, is explained for a better understanding of the subject and in a way that does not create any limiting effect.

[0041] The inventive wind turbine (A) is a system that provides electricity generation by converting kinetic energy into electrical energy, operates at high efficiency with lower wind speed compared to existing wind turbines, provides low cost and convenience in terms of logistics and installation, and is sensitive to the environment and living things. The wind turbine (A) rotor is designed using the Archimedes spiral principle. Like other Archimedean spirals, it does not rotate only with the pressure on the front surface. By improving its aerodynamic structure, lift force is also utilized, as in aircraft.

[0042] Figure 1 shows the exploded view of said wind turbine (A). Based on the Archimedes spiral principle, 3 blades; rotor blade 1 (1 ), rotor blade 2 (2) and rotor blade 3 (3) provide mechanical rotation movement with the surface pressure created by the wind of the rotor shaft (4) connected between the maglev generator (6) and the roller bearing (5).

[0043] Said blades; rotor blade 1 (1 ), rotor blade 2 (2) and rotor blade 3 (3) are mounted on the rotor shaft (4), the front part of the rotor shaft (4) is mounted on the roller bearing (5), the rear part is mounted on the maglev generator (6), and the whole is mounted on the motor foot (7) through the connection holes with the help of screws, nuts and washers. Thus, the surface pressure created by the wind hitting the rotor blades (1 ,2,3) provides electricity production by turning the rotor shaft (4) and turning the maglev generator (6).

[0044] The front surface (3.1 ) of the rotor blade 3 (3) converts the pressure created by the blow of the wind into thrust force and provides the rotation movement of the rotor shaft (4) connected between the maglev generator (6) and the roller bearing (5). The rear surface (3.2) creates aerodynamic lift force with the blow of the wind, increases the power in the direction where the front surface (3.1 ) pushes, and provides the rotation movement of the rotor shaft (4) connected between the maglev generator (6) and the roller bearing (5). The lower surface (3.3) of rotor blade 3 (3) serves to cover the said front surface (3.1 ) and rear surface (3.2). Thus, while the front surface (3.1 ) of rotor blade 3 (3) is exposed to the pressure of the wind, lift force occurs on the rear surface (3.2). In this way, a more effective rotation movement on the rotation axis is achieved by simultaneously using the lifting force occurring on the rear surface (3.2) and the pushing force occurring on the front surface (3.1 ).

[0045] Figures 2a, 2b and 2c show the details of the wind turbine (A) of the invention from different angles. The rotor shaft (4) transfers the rotation movement on a single axis between the roller bearing (5) and the maglev generator (6) to the maglev generator (6) thanks to the power generated by the rotor. The roller bearing (5) is the front connection point of the rotor shaft (4) and enables the rotor shaft (4) to rotate freely without being exposed to any resistance.

[0046] The maglev generator (6) converts mechanical rotation into electrical energy, and the rotor shaft (4) rotates, causing the maglev generator (6) to rotate and generate electricity from the magnetic field with the movement of the magnetic structure inside. Maglev generators (6) operate more quietly while rotating, thanks to the magnets inside, and produce electricity more efficiently at low speeds with the magnetic field created inside. For this reason, the wind turbine (A) that is the subject of the invention is quieter than other wind turbines and is suitable for home use. An average rotation of 250 RPM is achieved at an average wind speed of 2 m / s. A maglev generator (6) is used to produce electricity at lower speeds than other wind turbines.

[0047] The rotor foot (7), which carries the entire structure, is the part on which all parts are assembled completely. By the bearing mounting area at the bottom, it can be mounted on any rotating platform and ensures that the rotor is positioned correctly in the direction of the wind. By the invention, electricity is produced at low costs with the maglev generator (6) at low wind speeds. Electricity production power varies depending on the selected maglev generator (6) and rotor size. For example, with a rotor with a diameter of 3 meters, it can be in the range of 2-5 KW, and with a rotor diameter of 5 meters, it can be in the range of 5-10 KW. These data may vary depending on the wind speed in the area where the installation will be made. In order to achieve the most efficient production, the average wind speed should be measured in the region where the installation will be carried out and the selection of the most suitable rotor diameter and maglev generator (6) should be made according to the collected data.

[0048] The inventive wind turbine (A), in terms of its working principle and technical features, can generate 3 kw of electricity at an average of 2 m / s. Working speed is 250 RPM / min. It uses centrifugal force. For low-speed electricity production, the maglev generator (6) uses the magnetic field and provides direct output as 220 VAC.

[0049] In alternative embodiments of the present invention; it can be produced from different materials and in different sizes depending on the power range desired to be produced.
