Description

Ring Runner

[0001] The present invention relates to a ring runner that is attached to a curtain rail.

[0002] Conventionally, ring runners that can be attached to and detached from curtain rails have been known. For example, the ring runner disclosed in Patent Document 1 includes a ring portion having an openable opening and a curtain holder provided at one end of the open end of the ring portion. The curtain rail can be inserted into or removed from the ring portion through the open end of the ring portion, thereby allowing the ring runner to be attached to and detached from the curtain rail.

[0003] Publication number 3-57173

[0004] However, in the ring runner described in Patent Document 1, the curtain attached to the curtain holding portion is likely to interfere with the opening of the ring portion, making the work of attaching and detaching the ring runner cumbersome.

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a ring runner that can be easily attached to and detached from a curtain rail.

[0006] [1] A ring runner according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a ring portion extending in an annular shape to form an insertion hole through which a curtain rail is inserted, and a curtain holding portion provided on the ring portion, wherein the ring portion has a pair of opening ends that form an opening communicating with the insertion hole, the opening of the ring portion opens and closes due to elastic deformation of the ring portion, and the direction from the central axis of the ring portion toward the opening in a closed state and the direction from the central axis of the ring portion toward the curtain holding portion intersect with each other.

[0007] [2] In one aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the curtain holding portion is provided spaced apart from the pair of opening ends in the extension direction of the ring portion, other than at a portion of the ring portion facing the opening.

[0008] [3] In one aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the curtain holding portion is configured as a curved portion that is part of the ring portion, and that a recess is formed that is recessed from the inner surface of the ring portion other than the curved portion.

[0009] [4] A ring runner according to one embodiment of the present invention further comprises a handle portion provided on the ring portion, and it is preferable that the handle portion protrudes outside the ring portion from a portion of the ring portion facing the opening.

[0010] [5] In one aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the handle portion has a pair of side portions arranged on different lines continuing from the arc-shaped outer peripheral surface of the ring portion, and a corner portion formed between the pair of side portions.

[0011] [6] In one aspect of the present invention, when the curtain holding portion is positioned vertically below the central axis, it is preferable that the opening be positioned on one side horizontally relative to the central axis.

[0012] [7] In one aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the inner circumferential surface of the ring portion is continuously curved at least from the opening to a portion facing the curtain holding portion.

[0013] [8] In one aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the ring portion further includes a first leg portion and a second leg portion extending from the pair of opening ends of the ring portion to the side opposite the insertion hole, and that the first leg portion and the second leg portion are twisted relative to each other due to elastic deformation of the ring portion.

[0014] [9] In one aspect of the present invention, the base end of the first leg and the open end of the ring portion connected to the second leg each have a base groove portion that opens in a direction opposite to each other in the axial direction of the ring portion, and when the first leg and the second leg are twisted and arranged, it is preferable that the base groove portion of the first leg and the base groove portion of the open end are fitted together in the axial direction of the ring portion.

[0015]

[10] In one aspect of the present invention, the tip portions of the first leg and the second leg each have a tip groove portion that opens in opposite directions in the axial direction of the ring portion, and when the first leg and the second leg are twisted and arranged, it is preferable that the tip groove portion of the first leg and the tip groove portion of the second leg are fitted together in the axial direction of the ring portion.

[0017] The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. As shown in Figure 1, a ring runner 1 according to this embodiment is movable along the axial direction of a curtain rail 9 while suspending a curtain 8, and is configured to be detachable from the curtain rail 9.

[0018] The specific configuration of the curtain 8 and curtain rail 9 that use the ring runner 1 is not particularly limited. The curtain 8 exemplified in this embodiment includes a curtain cloth 81 and a plurality of washers 82 attached to the upper end of the curtain cloth 81. The curtain 8 is suspended and supported by the curtain rail 9 via the ring runner 1, through which the washers 82 are inserted. The curtain rail 9 exemplified in this embodiment is a rod with both ends fixed to a wall surface, such as a shower curtain rail.

[0019] [Configuration of Ring Runner 1] The configuration of the ring runner 1 will be described mainly with reference to Fig. 2. The ring runner 1 is molded as a single unit from an elastic material such as synthetic resin. The ring runner 1 includes a ring portion 2 having an openable / closable opening 21 formed therein, a curtain holder 3 provided on the ring portion 2, a first leg portion 41 and a second leg portion 42 for opening and closing the opening 21 of the ring portion 2, and a handle portion 5 provided on the ring portion 2.

[0020] The ring portion 2 extends in an annular shape to form an insertion hole 20 through which the curtain rail 9 is inserted. The ring portion 2 has an opening 21 formed by cutting out a portion of the annular shape of the ring portion 2. In other words, the ring portion 2 has a pair of opening ends 22, 23 that form the opening 21 that communicates with the insertion hole 20. The ring portion 2 can close the opening 21 by elastically deforming the pair of opening ends 22, 23 so that they approach each other (see FIG. 3 ).

[0021] Specifically, the ring portion 2 has a ring main body 24 arranged along a circle or ellipse centered on the central axis C, and a curved portion 25 curved outward from the ring main body 24. The ring main body 24 forms an inner circumferential surface 241 that can come into contact with the curtain rail 9. The range of the ring main body 24 in the ring portion 2 is divided by the curved portion 25.

[0022] Hereinafter, the direction along the central axis C of the ring portion 2 will be referred to as the axial direction, and the direction perpendicular to the central axis C will be referred to as the radial direction. Note that the central axis C of the ring portion 2 in this embodiment can be defined as the center of the inner circumferential surface 241 of the ring main body 24. Furthermore, since the ring portion 2 in this embodiment extends along a circle, the extension direction of the ring portion 2 will hereinafter sometimes be referred to as the circumferential direction.

[0023] The cross-sectional shape of the ring portion 2 perpendicular to the circumferential direction is not particularly limited and may be circular or rectangular. The radial and axial dimensions of the ring portion 2 are not particularly limited, but in this embodiment, the ring portion 2 is set so that the washer 82 of the curtain 8 can be inserted therethrough.

[0024] The curtain holding portion 3 is formed by the curved portion 25 of the ring portion 2. In other words, the curtain holding portion 3 is formed as a part of the ring portion 2 in the circumferential direction, and forms a recess 251 recessed from the inner circumferential surface 241 of the ring main body 24. This curtain holding portion 3 can maintain the position of the washer 82 of the curtain 8 in the ring portion 2 with the washer 82 inserted therethrough.

[0025] Here, the curtain holding portion 3 is provided at a position on the ring portion 2 that is circumferentially spaced from the opening ends 22, 23 of the ring portion 2 and at a position other than the portion facing the opening 21. As shown in FIG. 3 , a first direction R1, which is the direction from the central axis C of the ring portion 2 toward the opening 21 in the closed state, and a second direction R2, which is the direction from the central axis C of the ring portion 2 toward the curtain holding portion 3, intersect with each other. For example, the first direction R1 and the second direction R2 preferably intersect at an angle of 60 to 120 degrees, and more preferably at an angle of 90 degrees. In other words, when the curtain holding portion 3 is positioned vertically below the central axis C, the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 is preferably positioned on one side of the central axis C in the horizontal direction.

[0026] The first direction R1 described above can be defined as a direction passing through the central axis C and the intersection of the pair of opening ends 22, 23 of the ring portion 2 when the ring portion 2 is viewed from the axial direction. The second direction R2 described above can be defined as a direction passing through the central axis C and the holding position of the curtain 8 in the curtain holding portion 3 (in this embodiment, the center of the curtain holding portion 3 in the circumferential direction) when the ring portion 2 is viewed from the axial direction.

[0027] The first leg 41 protrudes radially outward from the open end 22 of the ring portion 2, and the second leg 42 protrudes radially outward from the open end 23 of the ring portion 2. The first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are curved so that they move farther apart as they extend radially outward, allowing for a "twisted arrangement" in which they are twisted together when the ring portion 2 elastically deforms.

[0028] 3, when the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are twisted, the base end 412 of the first leg 41 abuts on one axial side (the far side of the page) of the open end 23 of the ring portion 2. The first leg 41 and the second leg 42 cross each other in the axial direction, and the tip end 411 of the first leg 41 abuts on the other axial side (the near side of the page) of the tip end 421 of the second leg 42.

[0029] The ring runner 1 of this embodiment has a groove structure suitable for the above-described twisted arrangement of the first leg portion 41 and the second leg portion 42. A specific description will be given below with reference to Figures 4 and 5. For the sake of explanation, Figures 4 and 5 show the center line M of the ring runner 1 in the axial direction.

[0030] 4, the first leg 41 has a distal groove 6A disposed at a distal end 411, a proximal groove 7A disposed at a proximal end 412, and an intermediate portion 413 disposed between the distal groove 6A and the proximal groove 7A in the extension direction of the first leg 41. The distal groove 6A and the proximal groove 7A open on opposite sides of each other in the axial direction.

[0031] The distal groove 6A has a groove depth D1 corresponding to half the thickness of the first leg 41 in the axial direction, and penetrates the first leg 41 along the width direction of the first leg 41, which is perpendicular to both the extension direction and the axial direction of the first leg 41. Similarly, the proximal groove 7A has a groove depth D2 corresponding to half the thickness of the first leg 41 in the axial direction, and penetrates the first leg 41 along the width direction of the first leg 41. The wall of the distal groove 6A on the distal side of the first leg 41 may be missing. The groove width of the proximal groove 7A is equal to or greater than the width of the ring portion 2 perpendicular to both the extension direction and the axial direction of the ring portion 2.

[0032] 5, the second leg 42 has a distal groove 6B disposed at a distal end 421, and the open end 23 of the ring portion 2 has a proximal groove 7B. The second leg 42 also has an intermediate portion 423 disposed between the distal groove 6B and the proximal groove 7B in the extension direction of the second leg 42. The distal groove 6B and the proximal groove 7B open on opposite sides of each other in the axial direction.

[0033] The distal groove 6B has a groove depth D3 corresponding to half the thickness of the second leg portion 42 in the axial direction, and penetrates the second leg portion 42 along the width direction of the second leg portion 42, which is perpendicular to both the extension direction and the axial direction of the second leg portion 42. Similarly, the proximal groove 7B has a groove depth D4 corresponding to half the thickness of the ring portion 2 in the axial direction, and penetrates the ring portion 2 along the width direction of the ring portion 2. The wall portion of the distal groove 6B on the distal side of the second leg portion 42 may be missing. The groove width of the proximal groove 7B is equal to or greater than the width of the first leg portion 41.

[0034] The tip groove portion 6A of the first leg portion 41 and the tip groove portion 6B of the second leg portion 42 open on opposite sides of the axial direction, and the base end groove portion 7A of the first leg portion 41 and the base end groove portion 7B of the ring portion 2 open in opposite directions of the axial direction.

[0035] 3 , when the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are twisted, the proximal groove 7A of the first leg 41 and the proximal groove 7B of the ring portion 2 are fitted together in the axial direction, and the distal groove 6A of the first leg 41 and the distal groove 6B of the ring portion 2 are fitted together in the axial direction. At this time, the wall surface of the proximal groove 7A of the first leg 41 radially engages with the opening end 23 of the ring portion 2, the distal end 411 of the first leg 41 axially engages with the distal end 421 of the second leg 42, and the intermediate portion 413 of the first leg 41 engages with the intermediate portion 423 of the second leg 42 in the width direction of the opening 21. In other words, the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are engaged in three directions: the radial direction of the ring portion 2, the axial direction, and the width direction of the opening 21, thereby locking the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 in a closed state.

[0036] As shown in FIG. 2 , the handle portion 5 is formed integrally with the ring portion 2 and protrudes radially outward from a portion of the ring portion 2 facing the opening 21. Specifically, the handle portion 5 includes a pair of side portions 511, 512 that extend in the axial direction and are continuous with the outer peripheral surface 242 of the ring main body 24, an R-shaped corner portion 52 formed between the pair of side portions 511, 512, and a pair of flat portions 531, 532 that are perpendicular to the axial direction. When viewed in the axial direction, the pair of side portions 511, 512 are disposed on different lines T1, T2 that are continuous with the outer peripheral surface 242 of the ring main body 24. It is preferable that the angle formed by the lines T1, T2 of the corner portion 52 be, for example, 90 degrees or greater.

[0037] [Method of Mounting Ring Runner] An example of a method of mounting the ring runner 1 of this embodiment will be described. First, an operator mounts the curtain 8 on the curtain holding portion 3 of the ring runner 1 shown in Fig. 2 (curtain mounting process). At this time, the operator inserts the first leg portion 41 into the washer 82 of the curtain 8 and moves the washer 82 along the extension direction of the ring portion 2 to place it on the curtain holding portion 3.

[0038] Next, the worker holds the handle 5 with one hand and presses the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 vertically upward against the curtain rail 9, as shown by arrow A1 in FIG. 6 (pressing step). At this time, the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 guide the curtain rail 9 toward the opening 21 of the ring portion 2. The ring portion 2 is also pressed by the curtain rail 9 via the first leg 41 and the second leg 42, causing elastic deformation so that the opening 21 widens. As a result, the curtain rail 9 passes through the opening 21 and is inserted into the ring portion 2. During the pressing step, the curtain 8 held by the curtain holding portion 3 is positioned away from the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 so as not to cover the opening 21.

[0039] Next, as shown by arrow A2 in Figure 7, the ring runner 1 is rotated (rotation process). Here, no force is required from the worker to rotate the ring runner 1. That is, when the worker releases the handle portion 5, a rotational moment about the curtain rail 9 is applied to the ring runner 1 due to the load of the curtain 8 held by the curtain holding portion 3. As a result, the ring runner 1 rotates about the curtain rail 9. At this time, the curtain rail 9 slides against the inner peripheral surface 241 of the ring portion 2.

[0040] When the rotation of the ring runner 1 is completed, as shown in Figure 8, the curtain holding portion 3 is positioned vertically below the curtain rail 9, and the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 is positioned on one side horizontally relative to the curtain rail 9.

[0041] The worker then twists the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 together as shown by arrow A3 in Figure 8. This maintains the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 in the twisted position described above, locking the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 in a closed state. This completes the installation of the ring runner 1 on the curtain rail 9.

[0042] When removing the ring runner 1 from the curtain rail 9, for example when replacing the curtain 8, the procedure for attaching the ring runner 1 described above can be reversed. For example, the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are operated to open the opening 21 of the ring portion 2, and then the handle 5 is pulled vertically downward. This allows the curtain rail 9 to pass through the opening 21 of the ring portion 2, and the ring runner 1 can be removed from the curtain rail 9.

[0043] [Effects of this embodiment] As described above, the ring runner 1 of this embodiment comprises a ring portion 2 that extends in a ring shape to form an insertion hole 20 through which the curtain rail 9 is inserted, and a curtain holding portion 3 provided on the ring portion 2, and the ring portion 2 has a pair of opening ends 22, 23 that form an opening 21 that communicates with the insertion hole 20, and the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 opens and closes due to elastic deformation of the ring portion 2, and a first direction R1 that is the direction from the central axis C of the ring portion 2 toward the opening 21 in the closed state and a second direction R2 that is the direction from the central axis C of the ring portion 2 toward the curtain holding portion 3 intersect with each other.

[0044] In the above configuration, the curtain rail 9 is inserted into or removed from the ring portion 2 through the opening 21 of the ring portion 2, thereby enabling the ring runner 1 to be attached to or detached from the curtain rail 9. Furthermore, during the attachment or detachment of the ring runner 1, the curtain 8 attached to the curtain holding portion 3 is unlikely to interfere with the opening 21 of the ring portion 2, making it easy to attach or detach the ring runner 1 to or from the curtain rail 9. Furthermore, after the ring runner 1 is attached to the curtain rail 9, when the weight of the curtain 8 is applied to the curtain holding portion 3, the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 is prevented from being positioned vertically above the curtain rail 9. Therefore, the ring runner 1 can be prevented from falling off the curtain rail 9 without requiring a structure for tightly closing the opening 21 of the ring portion 2. Therefore, the ease of attachment or detachment of the ring runner 1 is not impaired. Therefore, the ring runner 1 of this embodiment allows for easy attachment or detachment of the ring runner 1 to or from the curtain rail 9, even when a curtain 8 is attached.

[0045] In this embodiment, the curtain holding portion 3 is provided apart from the pair of opening ends 22, 23 in the extension direction of the ring portion 2, except for the portion facing the opening 21 in the ring portion 2. With the above configuration, even when the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 is open, it is possible to prevent the ring runner 1 from falling off the curtain rail 9. For example, when attaching or detaching the ring runner 1 to or from the curtain rail 9, it is possible to prevent the ring runner 1 from falling off unexpectedly, allowing the worker to temporarily release the ring runner 1. This makes it easier to attach the ring runner 1 to the curtain rail 9.

[0046] In this embodiment, the curtain holding portion 3 is configured as a curved portion 25 that is a part of the ring portion 2, and forms a recess 251 recessed from the inner peripheral surface 241 of the ring portion 2 other than the curved portion 25. In the above configuration, the curtain holding portion 3 can hold the curtain 8 by inserting the washer 82 of the curtain 8 through it. In other words, the ring runner 1 can directly hold the curtain 8 without using any other hooks or the like. This simplifies the configuration of the curtain holding portion 3.

[0047] The ring runner 1 of this embodiment further includes a handle 5 provided on the ring portion 2, which protrudes outward from the ring portion 2 from a portion of the ring portion 2 facing the opening 21. With the above configuration, when attaching or detaching the ring runner 1 to or from the curtain rail 9, the worker can apply appropriate force to the ring portion 2. This makes it easier to attach the ring runner 1 to the curtain rail 9.

[0048] In this embodiment, the handle 5 has a pair of side surfaces 511, 512 that are arranged on different lines T1, T2 that are continuous with the outer peripheral surface 242 of the ring portion 2, and a corner 52 that is formed between the pair of side surfaces 511, 512. With the above configuration, the handle 5 can reinforce the elastic force when the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 opens and closes.

[0049] In this embodiment, when the curtain holding portion 3 is positioned vertically below the central axis C, the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 is positioned on one side in the horizontal direction relative to the central axis C. With the above configuration, it is possible to effectively suppress interference of the curtain 8 with the attachment and detachment of the ring runner 1 and to prevent the ring runner 1 from falling off at the same time.

[0050] In this embodiment, the inner peripheral surface 241 of the ring portion 2 is continuously curved at least from the opening 21 to the portion facing the curtain holding portion 3. With the above configuration, when attaching or detaching the ring runner 1, the rotation of the ring portion 2 relative to the curtain rail 9 is not hindered. Therefore, the ring runner 1 can be easily attached or detached.

[0051] The ring runner 1 of this embodiment further includes a first leg 41 and a second leg 42 extending from the pair of opening ends 22, 23 of the ring portion 2 toward the opposite side from the insertion hole 20, and the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are twisted relative to each other due to elastic deformation of the ring portion 2. In the above configuration, the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 can be opened and closed by operating the first leg 41 and the second leg 42. In addition, an operator can operate the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 with one hand.

[0052] In addition, in the prior art such as the above-mentioned Patent Document 1, the pair of open ends of the ring portion are configured to perform both a closing function for closing the opening of the ring portion and a curtain holding function, resulting in a complex structure. On the other hand, in this embodiment, the first leg portion 41 and the second leg portion 42 that close the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 and the curtain holding portion 3 are configured separately, which simplifies the configuration of both and improves their strength.

[0053] In this embodiment, the base end 412 of the first leg 41 and the open end 23 of the ring part 2 connected to the second leg 42 have base end grooves 7A, 7B that open in opposing directions in the axial direction, and when the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are twisted, the base end groove 7A of the first leg 41 and the base end groove 7B of the open end 23 fit together in the axial direction. With this configuration, when the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are twisted, the opening 21 can be suitably maintained in a closed state while suppressing an increase in the thickness of the ring runner 1 in the axial direction.

[0054] In this embodiment, the tip portions 411, 421 of the first leg portion 41 and the second leg portion 42 have tip groove portions 6A, 6B that open in opposite directions in the axial direction of the ring portion 2, and when the first leg portion 41 and the second leg portion 42 are twisted, the tip groove portion 6A of the first leg portion 41 and the tip groove portion 6B of the second leg portion 42 fit together in the axial direction. In the above configuration, when the first leg portion 41 and the second leg portion 42 are twisted, the opening portion 21 can be preferably maintained in a closed state while suppressing an increase in the thickness of the ring runner 1 in the axial direction.

[0055] [Modifications] In the above embodiment, the ring runner 1 is attached to the curtain 8 by inserting the washer 82, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the ring runner 1 may be attached to a curtain of any shape via another member such as a hook. In this case, after the ring runner 1 is attached to the curtain rail 9, the hook may be hooked onto the curtain holding portion 3.

[0056] Although the ring portion 2 in the above embodiment has a substantially circular ring shape, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the ring shape of the ring portion 2 may have any shape, such as an ellipse or a polygon.

[0057] In the above embodiment, the curtain holding portion 3 is molded integrally with the ring portion 2, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the curtain holding portion 3 may be formed separately from the ring portion 2 and attached to the ring portion 2.

[0058] Although the ring runner 1 in the above embodiment includes the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 as a structure for maintaining the opening 21 of the ring portion 2 in a closed state, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the ring runner 1 may not include the first leg 41 and the second leg 42, or may have another structure for closing the opening 21 of the ring portion 2.

[0059] Although the ring runner 1 in the above embodiment includes the handle portion 5 as a structure for being held by an operator, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the ring runner 1 may not include the handle portion 5, or may have another structure for being held by an operator.
