Description

[0001] A SHOWER CAP

[0002] FIELD

[0003] The present disclosure relates to devices used for hair and scalp treatments.

[0004] BACKGROUND

[0005] The background information herein below relates to the present disclosure but is not necessarily prior art.

[0006] Hair care has always been an important part of personal grooming, with many products and techniques configured to improve hair health and styling. Heat is often used to help hair absorb excipients used in the treatments better, improve the texture of hair, and achieve certain styles. Traditionally, people have relied on heating tools or steam treatments to help in faster absorption of the excipients. However, these methods have drawbacks, such as the need for bulky equipments, and the hassle of using external heat sources. Too much or too little steam and moisture can also weaken the effectiveness of the products used by either diluting them or changing their chemical makeup.

[0007] Dry heat has been recognized as a better alternative because it activates the excipients used in hair treatments without adding moisture. This helps avoid problems like frizz or changes in product effectiveness. However, most dry heat devices conventionally available are larger in size, uncomfortable, and difficult to use. They are often expensive, heavy, and may not provide consistent and controlled heat, making them less convenient. Common heat treatment methods, like steam caps and heated towels, are incapable of precisely controlling temperature and timing, which can lead to uneven results or even hair damage. Further, many of these methods require manual supervision so as to avoid overheating, making them less flexible and difficult to use.

[0008] To overcome these deficiencies, heating caps are provided that can be used by the user. However, some of these caps have an elliptical configuration, which may not work well for long and thick hair. This configuration can lead to uneven heat distribution and poor coverage, reducing the effectiveness of the product. Some caps include external fastening threads and extensions to adjust the fitting of the cap. Such fastening mechanisms require manual adjustments and may not provide a comfortable and secure fit thereby affecting the treatment procedures. Some other conventional heat treatment caps are configured as rigid brace-like headbands. This configuration tends to be bulky and heavy, reducing comfort and ease of use for the user. Therefore, they often require assistance for proper fitting, making them less practical for personal use. Another limitation observed in these conventional heating caps is that they do not provide complete head coverage, leaving the top of the head open, which prevents effective heat retention and exposes the hair to external moisture. This limits their ability to function as a fully waterproof heating cap.

[0009] Other conventional heating caps use composite multilayer sheets including metal layers and polymeric sheets having oxidizing materials sandwiched between therebetween. However, the incorporation of metal sheets with a thickness of 2 mm may result in a significantly heavier and more rigid structure, reducing comfort and ease of use. Further, the heat of the oxidizing material cannot permeate through these sheets, thus rendering the hair treatment ineffective.

[0010] Therefore, there is a felt need for a device which alleviates the aforementioned drawback.
