Description

Seat cable module

[0001] The present invention relates to a seat cable module for operating a vehicle seat.

[0002] A plurality of operation cables for operating the vehicle seat are attached to a seat frame of the vehicle seat via cable ties or the like (see Patent Document 1).In recent years, a seat cable module has been developed in which the operation cables are modularized to improve the efficiency of the work of attaching the operation cables to the seat frame (see Patent Document 2).

[0003] The seat cable module described in Patent Document 2 includes a plurality of operation cables and a module plate that holds the plurality of operation cables. The module plate is mountable to a seat frame of a vehicle seat. The module plate has a first holding portion at a front end of the vehicle seat that holds a first portion of the seat frame from the front of the vehicle seat. The module plate has a pair of second holding portions at a rear end of the vehicle seat that hold a second portion of the seat frame from the front of the vehicle seat, the pair of second holding portions being spaced apart in the width direction of the vehicle seat.

[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-60203 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2023-538375

[0005] However, while the first and second retaining portions restrict the module plate's position in the front and vertical directions relative to the seat frame, they do not restrict its position in the rear and width directions relative to the vehicle seat. Therefore, when routing multiple control cables after assembling the module plate to the seat frame, if a force acts on the module plate in the rearward or widthwise directions of the vehicle seat, the module plate may become misaligned with respect to the seat frame. In such cases, the task of routing the multiple control cables on the vehicle seat becomes complicated, reducing workability.

[0006] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a seat cable module that can improve the efficiency of the work of routing a plurality of operation cables on a vehicle seat.

[0007] In order to achieve the above object, the seat cable module of the present invention includes an operation cable for operating a vehicle seat, and a module plate that can be assembled to a seat frame of the vehicle seat and holds the operation cable. The module plate has an engaging portion that engages with a first portion of the seat frame and is configured to be movable in the width direction of the vehicle seat relative to the first portion of the seat frame but not to be movable in the front-rear direction of the vehicle seat, and a locking portion that locks with a second portion of the seat frame from one side in the width direction.

[0008] According to the present invention, the efficiency of the work of routing a plurality of operation cables on a vehicle seat can be improved.

[0024] The vehicle seat 10 may include, as needed, electrical devices or electrical apparatuses such as an electric lumbar support (not shown), an occupant sensor (not shown), and an electric actuator (not shown). The vehicle seat 10 also includes a seat cable module 28 to which an operation cable 30 is attached for performing operations such as reclining the vehicle seat 10.

[0025] A specific configuration of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 to 8. FIG. 3 is a schematic perspective view of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment, as seen from the front side, before being assembled to the seat cushion frame 12. FIG. 4 is a schematic perspective view of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment, as seen from the back side, before being assembled to the seat cushion frame 12. FIG. 5 is a schematic perspective view of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment, as seen from the front side, after the operation cable 30 has been routed. FIG. 6 is a schematic perspective view of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment, as seen from the back side, after the operation cable 30 has been routed. FIG. 7 is an enlarged view of a portion VII in FIG. 3. FIG. 8 is an enlarged view of a portion VIII in FIG. 4.

[0026] 2 to 6 , the seat cable module 28 includes a plurality of operation cables 30 for performing operations such as reclining the vehicle seat 10. The plurality of operation cables 30 includes a plurality of control cables 32 for mechanically performing operations such as reclining the vehicle seat 10. Each control cable 32 is a double-structure cable having a tubular outer cable and a linear inner cable inserted within the outer cable. One end of the inner cable of each control cable 32 is connected to a predetermined portion of an operating mechanical device or mechanical equipment, such as a reclining lever. The other end of the inner cable of each control cable 32 is connected to a predetermined portion of an operated mechanical device or mechanical equipment, such as a reclining lock mechanism.

[0027] The operation cables 30 may include a wire harness 34 for electrically operating the vehicle seat 10. One end of the wire harness 34 is connected to a predetermined portion of an electrical device or an electrical apparatus, and the other end of the wire harness 34 is connected to a predetermined portion of another electrical device or an electrical apparatus.

[0028] 2, 3, and 7, at least one of the control cables 32 (operation cables 30) has an adjuster 36 for adjusting the cable length. The adjuster 36 adjusts the cable length of the outer cable of at least one of the control cables 32. The outer cable of at least one of the control cables 32 is divided with the adjuster 36 in between. In this embodiment, three of the control cables 32 have the adjuster 36.

[0029] The adjuster 36 has a known configuration as shown in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2021-32333. The adjuster 36 has an openable and closable case 38 and an adjustment member 40 (referred to as a moving member in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2021-32333) that is provided within the case 38 and is movable in the longitudinal direction of the case 38. The main body of the adjustment member 40 is located within the case 38, and an end of the adjustment member 40 can be discharged from the case 38.

[0030] An end of one of the divided outer cables of at least one of the control cables is connected to an end of the case 38. An end of the other of the divided outer cables of at least one of the control cables is connected to an end of the adjustment member 40. An inner cable of at least one of the control cables is inserted through the case 38 and the adjustment member 40. The adjuster 36 also has a locking member 42 for fixing the adjustment member 40 to the case 38, and the locking member 42 is provided in the middle of the case 38 so as to be movable in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

[0031] With the above configuration, the cable length of the outer cable of at least one of the control cables 32 can be varied by moving the adjustment member 40 in the longitudinal direction relative to the case 38. Then, the locking member 42 is pressed toward the case 38 from one side in the orthogonal direction to position it in the locked position, thereby fixing the adjustment member 40 to the case 38. This makes it possible to adjust the cable length of the outer cable of at least one of the control cables 32.

[0032] 2 to 6 , the seat cable module 28 includes a module plate 44 that holds a plurality of operation cables, and the module plate 44 can be attached to the seat cushion frame 12. When attached to the seat cushion frame 12, the module plate 44 is disposed below the load support body 22. The module plate 44 is made of a resin such as polypropylene (PP) or polyamide (PA) containing glass fiber.

[0033] 2, 3, and 5, the module plate 44 has an engagement portion 46 that is U-shaped in a side view, and the engagement portion 46 engages with the rear frame 18, which is a first portion of the seat cushion frame 12, from below. The engagement portion 46 is formed integrally with the module plate 44 and constitutes a part of the module plate 44. The engagement portion 46 is located on the rear end side of the module plate 44. The engagement portion 46 is configured to be movable in the width direction (left-right direction) relative to the rear frame 18 but not to be movable in the front-rear direction.

[0034] Although the engaging portion 46 engages with the rear frame 18 from below, the engaging direction of the engaging portion 46 may be changed as appropriate.

[0035] The module plate 44 has a plurality of L-shaped (hook-shaped) locking claws 48 as a plurality of locking portions, and the plurality of locking claws 48 lock onto the upper side of the first load support member 24, which is the second portion of the seat cushion frame 12, from one side in the width direction. In other words, the plurality of locking claws 48 lock onto the upper side of the first load support member 24 from a direction perpendicular to the insertion direction of the module plate 44 into the seat cushion frame 12. The plurality of locking claws 48 are integrally formed on the front surface (upper surface) of the module plate 44 and constitute a part of the module plate 44. The plurality of locking claws 48 are arranged forward of the engagement portion 46 and spaced apart in the width direction.

[0036] The multiple locking claws 48 lock onto the upper side of the first load support member 24 from one side in the width direction by moving the module plate 44 to one side in the width direction with the engaging portions 46 engaged with the rear frame 18. In other words, the multiple locking claws 48 lock onto the upper side of the first load support member 24 from one side in the width direction by moving the module plate 44 in a direction perpendicular to the insertion direction with the engaging portions 46 engaged with the rear frame 18.

[0037] The second portion of the seat cushion frame 12 is not limited to one portion, but may be a plurality of portions, as long as the second portion is a portion different from the first portion of the seat cushion frame 12. The plurality of locking claws 48 may be arranged at intervals in the front-rear direction instead of being arranged at intervals in the width direction (left-right direction).

[0038] 2 to 6 , the module plate 44 has a plurality of L-shaped (hook-shaped) holding claws 50 as a plurality of holding portions, and each holding claw 50 presses or latches onto a portion of the operation cable 30 to hold it. The plurality of holding claws 50 are integrally formed on the front side (upper surface side) and back side (lower surface side) of the module plate 44 and constitute a part of the module plate 44. Each holding claw 50 is elastically deformable, and the plurality of holding claws 50 are arranged on the edge side of the module plate 44.

[0039] The number of holding claws 50 that hold one operation cable 30 may be one or more. Any of the holding claws 50 may press or engage and hold a portion of the operation cable 30 before the module plate 44 is assembled to the seat cushion frame 12. A holding portion other than the holding claw 50 may hold a portion of the operation cable 30.

[0040] The module plate 44 has a plurality of L-shaped temporary holding claws 52 as a plurality of temporary holding portions. Before the module plate 44 is assembled, the plurality of temporary holding claws 52 individually press or engage with portions of at least two or more operation cables 30 to temporarily hold them. In other words, before the module plate 44 is assembled, the plurality of temporary holding claws 52 individually press or engage with portions of the plurality of operation cables 30 to be temporarily held. The plurality of temporary holding claws 52 are integrally formed on the front and back sides of the module plate 44 and constitute a part of the module plate 44. Each temporary holding claw 52 is elastically deformable.

[0041] The number of temporary holding claws 52 that temporarily hold one of the two or more operation cables 30 may be one or more. A part of the operation cable 30 may be temporarily held by a holding portion other than the temporary holding claw 52.

[0042] 5 and 7 , the module plate 44 has an accommodation groove (accommodation recess) 54 that accommodates a portion of one of the operation cables 30. The accommodation groove 54 is integrally formed on the front surface (upper surface) of the module plate 44 and constitutes a part of the module plate 44. The accommodation groove 54 is located near one of the temporary holding claws 52.

[0043] Before the module plate 44 is assembled, any of the operation cables 30 temporarily held by the temporary holding claws 52 restricts the movement of any of the other operation cables 30 housed in the housing grooves 54 in the direction of removal from the module plate 44. Note that any of the operation cables 30 temporarily held by the temporary holding claws 52 may also restrict the movement of any of the other operation cables 30 located outside the housing grooves 54 in the direction of removal.

[0044] 4 and 6, the module plate 44 has a plurality of temporary holding holes 56. The plurality of temporary holding holes 56 are engagement holes for engaging cable clips 58 to which the wire harnesses 34 of the two or more operation cables 30 are attached before the module plate 44 is assembled.

[0045] 3 and 7, the module plate 44 has two wall-shaped adjuster mounting portions 60 for mounting the three adjusters 36. At least a portion of the two adjuster mounting portions 60 is integrally formed on the front surface side of the module plate 44, and the two adjuster mounting portions 60 constitute part of the module plate 44. The two adjuster mounting portions 60 are arranged on the edge side of the module plate 44.

[0046] One of the two adjuster mounting portions 60 holds the outer periphery of the case 38 of the two adjusters 36. One of the two adjuster mounting portions 60 corresponds to a holding portion that holds two operation cables 30 via the two adjusters 36. One operation cable 30 is inserted into one of the two adjuster mounting portions 60. The other of the two adjuster mounting portions 60 holds the outer periphery of the case 38 of one adjuster 36. The other of the two adjuster mounting portions 60 corresponds to a holding portion that holds one operation cable 30 via one adjuster 36.

[0047] As long as the adjuster attachment portion 60 can hold the outer periphery of the case 38 of the adjuster 36, the method of holding by the adjuster attachment portion 60 is not important.

[0048] According to the configuration of the seat cable module 28 of this embodiment, the module plate 44 has an engaging portion 46 that engages with the rear frame 18. The engaging portion 46 is configured to be movable in the width direction but immovable in the front-rear direction relative to the rear frame 18. The module plate 44 also has a locking claw 48 as a locking portion, which locks to the first load support member 24 from one side in the width direction. Therefore, the engaging portion 46 and the locking claw 48 can regulate the position of the module plate 44 relative to the seat cushion frame 12 in the up-down direction, the front-rear direction, and the width direction (left-right direction). As a result, when routing the multiple operation cables 30 after assembling the module plate 44 to the seat cushion frame 12, even if a force acts on the module plate 44 in either direction, displacement of the module plate 44 relative to the seat cushion frame 12 can be suppressed. Therefore, according to this embodiment, the efficiency of the operation of routing the multiple operation cables 30 on the vehicle seat 10 can be improved.

[0049] In particular, as described above, there are multiple locking claws 48, and the multiple locking claws 48 are arranged at intervals in the width direction or the front-rear direction. Therefore, it is possible to sufficiently prevent the module plate 44 from shifting in position relative to the seat cushion frame 12 after the module plate 44 is assembled. As a result, it is possible to further improve the efficiency of the work of routing the multiple operation cables 30 on the vehicle seat 10.

[0050] Furthermore, with the configuration of the seat cable module 28 according to this embodiment, the engagement portion 46 is located on the rear end side of the module plate 44, and the locking claw 48 is located forward of the engagement portion 46. This allows for a simple series of operations: engaging the engagement portion 46 with the rear frame 18, and then locking the locking claw 48 with the first load support member 24. Therefore, according to this embodiment, the module plate 44 can be easily assembled to the seat cushion frame 12, and the efficiency of the assembly work of the module plate 44, in other words, the assembly work of the seat cable module 28, can be improved.

[0051] In particular, as described above, by moving the module plate 44 to one side in the width direction while the engaging portion 46 is engaged with the rear frame 18, the locking claw 48 locks onto the upper side of the first load support member 24 from one side in the width direction. This makes it possible to more easily perform the series of operations described above, thereby further improving the efficiency of the seat cable module 28 assembly work.

[0052] Furthermore, according to the configuration of the seat cable module 28 of this embodiment, the module plate 44 has an adjuster mounting portion 60 for mounting the adjuster 36. Therefore, the adjuster 36 is held relative to the module plate 44 via the adjuster mounting portion 60, stabilizing the position of the adjuster 36. Therefore, according to this embodiment, after the module plate 44 is assembled to the seat cushion frame 12, the cable length of at least one of the control cables 32 can be easily adjusted. Specifically, for example, an operator can move the adjustment member 40 in the longitudinal direction or press the locking member 42 toward the case 38 with one hand, thereby easily adjusting the cable length of at least one of the control cables 32. In particular, when the adjuster mounting portion 60 is disposed on the edge side of the module plate 44, the efficiency of the cable length adjustment of at least one of the control cables 32 can be further improved.

[0053] On the other hand, when the module plate 44 does not have the adjuster mounting portion 60, as in the conventional seat cable module, the adjuster 36 must be attached to the seat cushion frame 12 with an insulok or the like. Furthermore, even after the adjuster 36 is attached to the seat cushion frame 12, the position of the adjuster 36 is not stable. This increases the time required to adjust the cable length of at least one of the control cables 32, reducing the efficiency of the adjustment work.

[0054] Furthermore, according to the configuration of the seat cable module 28 of this embodiment, the multiple temporary holding claws 52 individually and temporarily hold at least two or more operation cables 30 before the module plate 44 is assembled. Therefore, after the module plate 44 is assembled to the seat cushion frame 12, the two or more operation cables 30 are sequentially removed from the temporary holding claws 52, and the ends of the removed operation cables 30 are sequentially connected to corresponding machines and devices. In other words, the work of routing the multiple operation cables 30 on the vehicle seat 10 can be completed in a short time without having to select the target operation cable 30 from among the multiple operation cables 30 mixed together. Therefore, according to this embodiment, the efficiency of the work of routing the multiple operation cables 30 on the vehicle seat 10 can be improved.

[0055] Furthermore, as described above, before the module plate 44 is assembled, any of the operation cables 30 temporarily held by the temporary holding claws 52 restricts the movement of the other operation cables 30 in the direction of removal from the module plate 44. Therefore, the number of temporary holding claws 52 that temporarily hold the other operation cables 30 can be reduced, thereby reducing the total number of temporary holding claws 52 on the module plate 44. Therefore, according to this embodiment, the configuration of the seat cable module 28 can be simplified and the manufacturing cost of the seat cable module 28 can be reduced.

[0056] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications are possible within the scope of the gist of the invention, such as assembling the seat cable module 28 to the seat back frame as the second seat frame.

[0057] INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention is useful as a seat cable module that can improve the efficiency of the installation work of multiple operation cables on a vehicle seat.
