Description

Heated humidifier

[0001] The present invention relates to a heated humidifier, and more particularly, to a heated humidifier that can reduce the risk of safety accidents caused by carelessness of occupants or pets by controlling the amount of humidifying vapor discharged when motion is detected around the main body.

[0002] Recently, as the time spent indoors has increased and the time spent active in indoor spaces has increased, interest in indoor air quality has increased, and humidifiers are widely used to maintain comfortable humidity during the winter when indoor air becomes dry.

[0003] These humidifiers are devices that increase indoor humidity using purified water, and are divided into heating humidifiers that heat water to generate steam, disk evaporation humidifiers that rotate multiple disks partially submerged in a water tank to perform humidification through natural evaporation, filter evaporation humidifiers that vaporize by blowing air to a humidifying filter partially submerged in a water tank, ultrasonic humidifiers that generate steam by applying ultrasonic vibrations to water using an ultrasonic generator, and composite humidifiers that combine heating and ultrasonic humidifiers.

[0004] Meanwhile, heated humidifiers can prevent air pollution caused by bacteria by boiling the water in the tank and vaporizing it, but they have the disadvantage of having a high risk of burns due to the high temperature of the steam and also of wasting a lot of electricity.

[0005] In addition, evaporative humidifiers not only fail to secure sufficient humidification power due to low vaporization through natural evaporation, but also have the problem of causing negative effects such as worsening air quality due to bacterial growth because water remains stagnant in the tank for a long time.

[0006] In addition, ultrasonic humidifiers have a relatively simple structure, consume low power, and can provide a high humidification amount of 500 to 600 cc / h per hour, so they are widely used in most humidification methods today. However, this also has the inconvenience of having to frequently replace and clean the water in the tank to prevent water contamination due to the use of a tank.

[0007] To solve these problems, humidifier disinfectants (cleaning agents) were previously injected into the tank to sterilize and disinfect the water in the tank. However, the disinfectants are made up of ingredients that are harmful to the human body, and their use has recently been avoided due to the problem of causing lung diseases.

[0008] To solve this problem, a 'sterilizing humidifier' has been proposed in Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2005-0102317, and claim 1 of the same discloses a 'sterilizing humidifier characterized by comprising: a humidifying tank (110) formed to hold a certain amount of water; a vibrator (120) that vaporizes the water in the humidifying tank (110); and one or more ultraviolet light emitting diodes (300) that emit ultraviolet rays toward the water contained in the humidifying tank (110) to sterilize the water in the humidifying tank (110).'

[0009] However, the sterilizing humidifier according to the above-mentioned prior art simply has a configuration in which an ultraviolet light-emitting diode is embedded in a humidifying tank, so although sterilization is performed on the surrounding area close to the ultraviolet light-emitting diode, there is a problem in that it is difficult to sterilize the entire water filled in the humidifying tank, and in particular, there is a limit to sterilizing a large amount of water.

[0010] Due to these problems, the popularity of heated humidifiers has been increasing recently.

[0011] As a heating type humidifier according to the prior art, a heating type humidifier has been proposed in Korean Patent No. 10-2376181, and as another prior art, a heating type humidifier capable of rapid spraying has been proposed in Korean Patent No. 10-2636833.

[0012] However, the heating type humidifiers according to the above conventional technology have a problem in that there is a high risk of safety accidents due to burns as they emit high temperature humidified vapor.

[0013] As a prior art for reducing the risk of such burns, a heating humidifier has been proposed in Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2024-0007983, and claim 1 of the same discloses a heating humidifier comprising: a case part that forms a placement space inside and forms an outlet for allowing the water vapor to flow out at a predetermined location; a storage part that is placed at a predetermined location in the placement space and stores the supplied water; and a heating part that applies heat to the storage part.

[0014] The heating humidifier according to the above-mentioned prior art proposes a configuration in which the water vapor generated in the internal space of the case is allowed to come into contact with the outside air to relatively lower the temperature of the generated water vapor and then discharge it, in order to prevent burns. However, this has the disadvantage of low humidification efficiency as the generated water vapor liquefies again when it comes into contact with the outside air, resulting in a drop in the amount of spray.

[0015] In addition, although the temperature of the humidified vapor discharged to the outside is slightly lowered, there is still a risk of burns if parts of the body such as the hands or face come into close contact with it, and there remains a problem that it can lead to serious burns, especially in the case of young children or the elderly.

[0016] In addition, when raising pets such as dogs or cats, there is a significant risk of safety accidents occurring due to carelessness.

[0017] The present invention was created to solve the problems of the prior art as described above, and the purpose of the present invention is to provide a heated humidifier that can prevent the risk of safety accidents due to carelessness in advance by controlling the discharge of humidifying vapor when movement approaching the main body of the humidifier is detected.

[0018] The present invention is not limited to the above-described tasks, and tasks not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains from this specification and the attached drawings.

[0019] In order to achieve the above object, a heating type humidifier according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main body cover having a steam outlet for discharging humidifying steam, a main body case having a water tank filled with humidifying water inside and an upper surface opened by the main body cover selectively shielded, a heating heater provided on the lower side of the water tank and supplied with power to heat the water tank and evaporate the water, an operation panel provided on one side of the main body cover or the main body case for receiving an operation force from a user, a display for displaying the operating status of the device on a screen, and a power supply unit for supplying and controlling each electrical component by receiving power from the outside.

[0020] It is characterized by comprising: a cooling module provided on one side of the main body cover and selectively forcibly blowing external air into the interior of the main body case; a warning module installed on the main body cover or the main body case and selectively turning on a warning sound or indicator lamp for a caution warning; a distance detection sensor provided in numbers of 1 to 4 on the outer surface of the main body case or the main body cover and detecting a distance from a moving object in the vicinity; a shake detection sensor provided on the main body case or the main body cover and detecting a shake flow caused by an external force; and a controller connected to a circuit to receive a detection signal from the distance detection sensor and the shake detection sensor and selectively applying a control signal to a heating heater, a cooling module, and a warning module.

[0021] As a preferred feature of the present invention, the cooling module comprises a housing having a cylindrical space provided inside one side of the main body cover, an inlet formed on the upper surface for sucking in air from the outside, and a lower portion through which the sucked in air is guided to a water tank; and a cooling fan installed inside the housing and selectively rotating upon receiving a control signal from the controller to forcibly blow outside air into the water tank.

[0022] As another preferred feature of the present invention, the controller comprises a power control unit that is connected to the shake detection sensor and applies a control signal to the power supply to turn off the power of the device when a shake is detected; and a cooling fan control unit that applies a control signal to the cooling module to operate it when a detection sensor signal is applied from the shake detection sensor.

[0023] As another preferred feature of the present invention, the controller comprises a heater control unit that applies a control signal to the heating element to stop operation when a detection signal is applied from the distance detection sensor or the shaking detection sensor; and an alarm control unit that applies a control signal to the warning module to operate a warning sound or an indicator lamp when a detection signal is applied from the distance detection sensor or the shaking detection sensor.

[0024] As another preferred feature of the present invention, when a detection signal is applied from the distance detection sensor, the controller applies a control signal to the warning module to operate it, and after the detection signal from the distance detection sensor is counted by a timer count for about 2 seconds, the controller applies a control signal to the heating heater and the cooling module, respectively, to stop the operation of the heating heater and operate the cooling module at the same time.

[0025] A heated humidifier according to one embodiment of the present invention detects movement approaching the periphery of the main body case and controls the amount of humidifying vapor discharged, thereby significantly reducing the risk of safety accidents caused by high-temperature humidifying vapor, and is expected to have the effect of increasing consumer confidence in the product.

[0026] That is, when a user approaches within a set distance around the main body case of the humidifier, it detects this through a distance detection sensor and notifies with a warning sound or warning light, and when an external force is applied to or contacts the humidifier, the operation of the humidifier is immediately paused and the steam outlet is blocked to temporarily block the discharge of steam, thereby reducing the risk of burns caused by high-temperature humidifying steam even if the user inadvertently touches the humidifier, thereby providing an advantage of providing a safe usage environment.

[0044] Hereinafter, the configuration of the present invention according to the attached drawings will be briefly described.

[0045] Figure 1 is a drawing schematically showing the internal configuration of a heating humidifier according to the present invention.

[0046] The drawing shows a main body (not shown) comprising a main body case (10) having a cylindrical shape with an open upper surface forming an outer body, a main body cover (20) which is provided to shield the open upper surface of the main body case (10) so that the user can selectively separate it and has a steam discharge port (21) formed in the upper center through which humidifying steam is discharged to the outside, a cooling module (50) which is provided on one side of the steam discharge port (21) of the main body cover (20) to forcibly suck in air from the outside and blow it into the inside of the main body case (10), a water tank (40) filled with humidifying water which is provided inside the main body case (10), and a heating heater (30) which is provided on the lower side of the water tank (40) to boil water in the water tank (40) and generate humidifying steam by receiving power and generating heat.

[0047] In addition, a water level sensor (78) for detecting the water level is installed on one side of the inside of the water tank (40), and although not shown, an operation panel composed of a plurality of push buttons or touch switches for receiving an operation force input from a user is configured on one side of the main body case (10) or main body cover (20), and in addition, a display for displaying the operating status of the device on the screen may be configured.

[0048] In addition, a power supply unit is configured to receive power required for the operation of the device from an external source and electrically connect to each electrical component to supply power. The operation panel, display, and power supply unit may be implemented using a known technology, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0049] Figure 2 is a block diagram for explaining the configuration of a heating humidifier according to the present invention.

[0050] The drawing shows a distance detection sensor (75) installed in a main body case (10) or a main body cover (20) constituting the main body to detect the distance to an object approaching the periphery of the device, a shake detection sensor (76) that detects a shaking caused by contacting the device, and a water level sensor (78) installed inside the water tank (40) to detect a low water level, and these distance detection sensors (75), shake detection sensors (76), and water level sensors (78) are configured in a circuit to apply a detection signal to a controller (70).

[0051] And the controller (70) is composed of a power control unit (71) for controlling the operation of the power supply, a heater control unit (72) for controlling the operation of the heating heater (30), a cooling fan control unit (73) for controlling the operation of the cooling module (50), and an alarm control unit (74) for controlling the operation of the warning module (60), and each of these control units is shown as being connected to a circuit to control the operation of the heating heater (30), the cooling module (50), and the warning module (60).

[0052] Figure 3 is a block diagram for explaining the operation configuration according to the detection of peripheral movement in a heating humidifier according to the present invention.

[0053] The drawing is intended to explain the operation configuration of the controller (70) when a person or object moving around the humidifier approaches. When a detection signal is applied from a distance detection sensor (75), the controller (70) operates a warning module (60) consisting of a warning sound or an indicator lamp to issue a cautionary warning so that the approaching object or subject can recognize it. Subsequently, when the object or subject continues to approach the device or does not leave the detection range despite the warning, a set time (e.g., 2 to 3 seconds) is counted, and the heating heater (30) is turned off at the time of the timer count to stop the operation, and at the same time, the cooling module (50) is operated to forcibly blow outside air into the water tank (40) to lower the temperature of the water inside the water tank (40) and reduce the amount of humidification evaporation.

[0054] Figure 4 is a block diagram for explaining the operation configuration according to the detection of shaking by contact in a heating humidifier according to the present invention.

[0055] The drawing shows a configuration in which, when a movement is detected by the shaking detection sensor (76), it is determined that a person or object has directly contacted the humidifier, and the heating heater (30) is immediately stopped or the entire power of the device is cut off to stop the operation. At this time, the warning module (60) is shown to be configured to operate by a rechargeable battery so that the warning sound and indicator lamp continue to operate.

[0056] Referring to the above drawings, the configuration for implementing the present invention will be described in detail.

[0057] First, the present invention is composed of a main body (not shown) forming an outer body, a heating heater (30) and a water tank (40) accommodated inside the main body (not shown), and a cooling module (50) that optionally cools water in the water tank (40), and a controller (70) that receives a detection signal from a distance detection sensor (75) for detecting a person or object approaching the periphery of the device and a shake detection sensor (76) for detecting an external force applied to the device and controls the operation of the device.

[0058] The above main body (not shown) is composed of a main body case (10) with a largely open upper surface and an empty interior, and a main body cover (20) that is provided to be selectively opened and closed to shield the open upper surface of the main body case (10) so as to maintain confidentiality.

[0059] Although not shown, this main body (not shown) is configured with a power supply unit (not shown) that receives power required for the operation of the device from an external source and is electrically connected to each electrical component to supply power, and in addition, a display unit for displaying the operating status of the device on a screen and an operation panel (not shown) consisting of a plurality of buttons, switches, or wireless remote controls for receiving operating power input from the user are configured, and this operation panel, display, and power supply unit are implemented by known technology.

[0060]

[0061] The heating heater (30) is configured on the lower inner side of the main body case (10) that constitutes the main body to generate heat by receiving power, and may be implemented using a known technology, so a detailed description thereof is omitted.

[0062] The water tank (40) is placed on top of the heating heater (30), and is provided in the form of a cylinder with an open upper surface, and is filled with humidifying water inside. This water tank (40) is provided with a stainless steel metal material, and the water inside is evaporated by being heated by receiving heat from the heating heater (30).

[0063] This water tank (40) is equipped with a water level sensor (78) for detecting low water level so that the power to the heater (30) can be cut off by detecting the low water level of the water filled on one side of the inside. This water tank (40) and the water level sensor (78) may also be implemented using known techniques.

[0064] The cooling module (50) is intended to suppress the generation of humidifying vapor by quickly lowering the temperature of the water in the water tank (40). In the present invention, a configuration provided on one side of the main body cover (20) constituting the main body is exemplified.

[0065] This cooling module (50) is operated when a person or object approaches the main body within a certain distance. For example, when a child approaches the main body within a set distance (e.g., 50 cm), the operation of the heating heater (30) is stopped and the cooling module (50) is operated at the same time to lower the internal steam temperature by introducing cold air into the inside, thereby reducing the risk of burns due to high-temperature humidified steam even when a child approaches the main body very closely.

[0066] The cooling module (50) according to the present invention for this purpose is configured with a housing (51) that forms a cylindrical space inside, with an inlet formed on the upper surface for sucking in air from the outside, and a hole formed or penetrated on the lower surface to guide the sucked in air to the water tank (40), and a cooling fan (53) that is installed inside the housing (51) and selectively operates upon receiving a control signal from a controller (70) to forcibly blow outside air into the water tank (40).

[0067] Meanwhile, although not shown, it is preferable that a known damper be installed in the inlet port to open the passage when the cooling fan (53) is driven and rotated, and to block the passage when the cooling fan (53) is not driven. This damper is intended to prevent humidifying vapor inside the main body from being discharged to the outside through the housing (51) when the cooling fan (53) is not in operation.

[0068] The warning module (60) is provided in the main body cover (20) or main body case (10) constituting the main body, and is optionally intended to warn occupants, people around the humidifier, or pets. It may be configured with a speaker that generates a warning sound such as an audible or vocal sound, or an indicator lamp that is an LED lamp with a color such as red or yellow.

[0069] Additionally, it could be configured to wirelessly notify a designated smartphone of a warning situation via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

[0070] The distance detection sensor (75) uses an ultrasonic sensor, and in the present invention, it is proposed that 1 to 4 of them be installed so that they can detect all four sides of the outer surface of the main body case (10) or main body cover (20).

[0071] This distance detection sensor (75) is configured with a circuit to apply detection information to the controller (70) when a person or object moves and approaches, and the detection distance is set to 10 cm to 100 cm. However, in the present invention, as a preferred embodiment, it is proposed to be configured to detect a range of 50 cm.

[0072] Accordingly, the distance detection sensor (75) according to the present invention detects when a person, pet, or object approaches within a range of 50 cm and sends a detection signal to the controller (70) described later. The controller (70) that receives the detection information outputs a control signal that stops the operation of the heating heater (30) and operates the cooling module (50).

[0073] The shaking detection sensor (76) uses a horizontal sensor or a gyro sensor, and in the present invention, it is installed inside or outside the main body case (10) or main body cover (20) to perform detection.

[0074] This shaking detection sensor (76) is configured with a circuit to detect when a person, pet, or object comes into contact with the device and causes shaking, and to apply the detection information to the controller (70) described later.

[0075] Accordingly, the shaking detection sensor (76) according to the present invention detects when a user carelessly touches the humidifier or when a child or pet touches the humidifier out of curiosity and sends a detection signal to the controller (70), and the controller receiving the detection information outputs a control signal to stop the operation of the heating heater (30) or to cut off the power to the entire device by sending a control signal to the power supply (not shown).

[0076] The controller (70) is composed of a power control unit (71) connected in a circuit to apply an on / off control signal to a power supply unit that manages the power of the device, a cooling fan control unit (73) connected in a circuit to apply a control signal that controls the on / off operation of a cooling fan (53) that constitutes the cooling module (50), a heater control unit (72) connected in a circuit to apply a control signal that controls the on / off operation of the heating heater (30), and an alarm control unit (74) connected in a circuit to apply an on / off control signal to the warning module (60).

[0077] The above power control unit (71) is a control element that is electrically connected to a power supply unit for supplying power to the electrical components constituting the heating humidifier of the present invention and applies an output signal for controlling the on / off operation.

[0078] The above cooling fan control unit (73) is a control element that applies a control signal to the cooling module (50) so that external cold air can be blown into the humidifying steam in the water tank (40) based on the information detected by the shaking detection sensor (76) when shaking occurs on the main body.

[0079] This cooling fan control unit (73) operates when the operation of the heating heater (30) described later is stopped. Even when the operation of the heating heater (30) is stopped, the water tank (40) is already heated, so humidifying steam is generated by latent heat. This serves to lower the temperature of the steam discharged through the steam discharge port (21) of the main body cover (20) by blowing in external air.

[0080] The above heater control unit (72) is configured to be electrically connected to a circuit to receive a detection signal from the distance detection sensor (75) or the shake detection sensor (76), and when detection information is received from the distance detection sensor (75) or the shake detection sensor (76), it functions to stop operation by applying a control signal to the heating heater (30) connected to the circuit.

[0081] This heater control unit (72) temporarily or completely stops the operation of the heating heater (30) when a person or object approaches or comes into contact with the heating humidifier of the present invention, thereby reducing the amount of humidifying steam generated, thereby lowering the risk of safety accidents caused by humidifying steam discharged through the steam discharge port (21).

[0082] The alarm control unit (74) is configured to be electrically connected to a circuit to receive a detection signal from the distance detection sensor (75) or the shake detection sensor (76), and when detection information is received from the distance detection sensor (75) or the shake detection sensor (76), it applies a control signal to the circuit-connected warning module (60) to operate a warning sound or an indicator lamp.

[0083] Meanwhile, the above warning module (60) may be a speaker that outputs a loud voice guidance or warning sound, and in addition, a display lamp with a red or yellow colored LED lamp or a spark flash may be used.

[0084] The controller (70) of this configuration applies a control signal to turn on the operation of the warning module (60) when a detection signal is applied from the distance detection sensor (75). At this time, it is preferable to control the heating heater (30) and cooling module (50) to stop the operation of the heating heater (30) and operate the cooling module (50) by counting the time using a timer count to wait for about 2 seconds after the detection signal is applied.

[0085] This is to ensure that the heating heater (30) and cooling module (50) do not operate when the user simply passes by the device, thereby maintaining humidification.

[0086] That is, in the event that the user is careless or a child or pet approaches the detection range of the device without realizing it and stays there for more than 2 seconds, the controller (70) performs the ON operation of the cooling module (50) along with the stop operation of the heating heater (30), thereby ensuring convenience and safety in use.

[0087] In addition, in the present invention, when a person or an object enters within the set range through the distance detection sensor (75), the controller (70) controls the heating heater (30) and the cooling module (50) to stop the operation of the heating heater (30) and start the operation of the cooling module (50) by applying a control signal to the heating heater (30) as described above. In this state, if a detection signal is no longer detected from the distance detection sensor (75), it may be possible to apply a control signal to resume the operation of the heating heater (30) and stop the operation of the cooling module (50).

[0088] Meanwhile, the present invention is not limited to the described embodiments. It is possible to use the present invention by changing the application area, and various modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, as will be apparent to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, such variations or modifications should be considered within the scope of the claims of the present invention.
