Abstract

The invention describes a hand-held power tool (10), in particular a hand-held grinding machine. Said hand-held power tool comprises an electric drive motor (14), an eccentric element (22) and a tool plate (24), wherein the tool plate (24) is drivingly coupled to the electric drive motor (14) via the eccentric element (22) and can be rotationally driven via the eccentric element (22) by means of the electric drive motor (14). The hand-held power tool (10) further comprises a braking unit (40), which is separate from the electric drive motor (14), for braking a movement of the tool plate (24). The braking effect of the braking unit (40) can be adjusted. Alternatively or additionally, a braking effect of the braking unit (40) is dependent on a direction of rotation of the electric drive motor (14). The invention also relates to a method for operating a hand-held power tool (10), in particular a hand-held grinding machine.
