Description

[0001] DOOR LOCK PIN PROTECTION

[0002] Field of the Invention

[0003] The invention relates to the rear door lock mechanism used in trailer and semi-trailer type vehicles.

[0004] In particular, the invention relates to door lock pin protection which prevents deformation of the parts by means of a collar bearing on the lock pin in the areas where the lock beak will come into contact with the lock pin, thereby ensuring the movement of the collar around the lock pin in case of possible friction.

[0005] State of the Art

[0006] In trailer and semi-trailer type vehicles, the rear door lock mechanism is used to lock the rear door. Said locking mechanism basically consists of a lock latch that rotates on the door and a lock pin located on the door's upper profile. In order to lock the rear doors, the lock latch is driven to rotate and the locking process is carried out by engaging the lock pin.

[0007] In the state of the art, the lock latch directly contacts the lock pin in the rear door lock mechanism, since the lock latch engages the lock pin directly. Due to this contact, friction-induced deformations occur in the lock mechanism during the locking operation. This cause locking problems in the door lock mechanism and requires repair and maintenance. Accordingly, it was necessary to eliminate the friction-related problems experienced in the area where the lock latch comes into contact with the lock pin in the state of the art.

[0008] An example of the known state of the technique in the research conducted in the literature can be shown in the document numbered TR2016 / 17633. Said document relates to the door upper lock cover for load-carrying vehicles, in said invention, the door upper lock cover developed for the sealing problem occurring in the upper areas of the doors of vehicles used in freight transportation such as trailers, semi-trailers and trucks is disclosed. Said door upper lock cover closes the lock hooks on the vehicle door and provides sealing in the upper door area. The door upper lock cover, which consists of the wick and the door upper lock cover profile parts, is mounted on the door by gluing it with a removable connection or by welding. With said door upper lock cover, the sealing problems experienced in the upper areas of the vehicle door were eliminated, but the deformations experienced in the rear door lock mechanism could not be prevented.

[0009] As a result, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions necessitated a development in the relevant technical field.

[0010] Purpose of the Invention

[0011] The invention relates to a door lock pin protection which eliminates the abovementioned disadvantages and brings new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0012] The main purpose of the invention is to provide door lock pin protection which prevents deformation of the parts by means of a collar bearing on the lock pin in the areas where the lock latch will come into contact with the lock pin, thereby ensuring the movement of the collar around the lock pin in case of possible friction.

[0013] The purpose of the invention is to provide door lock pin protection that eliminates friction-induced locking problems and maintenance and repair requirements in the door lock mechanism.

[0014] Another purpose of the invention is to provide door lock pin protection that allows extending the service life of the lock pin in the door lock mechanism.

[0015] In order to fulfil all the purposes mentioned above and which can be derived from the detailed explanation, the invention is a rear door lock mechanism comprising; rear door used in trailer and semi-trailer type vehicles and allows the loading area to be opened and closed from the rear of the trailer and semi-trailer type vehicle, door upper profile located on the upper side of the rear door, the locking pin that is fixed vertically on the door upper profile to lock the rear door, locking latch located on the rear door and engages the lock pin with a rotating movement, allows the rear door to be locked, comprising; - an annular collar that located on the lock pin and prevents deformation due to friction between the lock latch and the lock pin during engagement with the lock pin.

[0016] The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following figures and the detailed description made with reference to these figures. Therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

[0030] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0031] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the door lock pin protection are described for the purpose of a better understanding of the subject matter only and without limiting effect. Figures 1 and 2 show the views of the door lock pin protection, which is the subject of the invention, on the vehicle. Accordingly, door lock pin protection comprises the following in its most basic form; rear door (10) that allows the loading area to be opened and closed from the rear of the trailer and semi-trailer type vehicle, door upper profile (20) located on the upper side of the rear door (10), locking pin (30) which is fixed vertically on the door upper profile (20) to lock the rear door (10), locking latch (40) located on the rear door (10) and locking the rear door (10) by engaging the lock pin (30) with a rotating movement, collar (50) located on the lock pin (30) and prevents deformation due to friction between the lock latch (40) and the lock pin (30).

[0032] On the upper side of the rear door (10), which allows the loading area to be opened and closed from the rear of the trailer and semi-trailer type vehicle, there is the door upper profile (20) seen in figures 3 and 4. There is a locking pin (30) fixed vertically on the door upper profile (20) to lock the rear door (10).

[0033] The lock latch (40) is connected to the rear door (10) as seen in figure 5. The lock latch (40), which rotates on the rear door (10), engages the lock pin (30) and locks the rear door (10).

[0034] In order to prevent deformation of the lock pin (30) due to friction during the locking of the lock latch (40) by engaging the lock pin (30), an annular collar (50) is mounted on the lock pin (30) as shown in Figures 6 and 7. Said collar (50) prevents deformations due to friction between the lock latch (40) and the lock pin (30).

[0035] In the invention, when the locking latch (40) rotates as required by the locking operation of the rear door (10), it contacts the collar (50) and the rear door (10) is brought into the locked position. Thanks to the collar (50) mounted on the lock pin (30), direct contact of the lock latch (40) with the lock pin (30) is prevented by the rotation of the collar (50) around the lock pin (30) in the locked position of the rear door (10), and deformations due to the frictional force on the lock pin (30), collar (50) and lock latch (40) parts are eliminated.
