Description

SOUNDBAR ASSEMBLYTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The disclosure relates to a soundbar assembly.BACKGROUND

[0002] Soundbars are a type of sound system with multiple speakers accommodated in a housing which creates a stereo or surround sound effect. Soundbars are often used in home audio and media applications, but may also be used in vehicles such as cars, off-road vehicles, and boats to improve the quality of audio. Soundbars typically include both tweeters and woofers and thus provide a cost-effective, all-in-one solution for creating a surround sound experience without requiring multiple separate speakers.

[0003] Typically, the soundbars comprise a soundbar main body and at least one surround sound speaker device that can be connected to the soundbar main body. To improve the audience's experience, the surround sound speaker device can be separated from the soundbar main body and placed near the audience, such as on both sides of the sofa or behind the seat, to provide a surround sound effect.

[0004] The connection between the soundbar main body and the surround sound speaker device should be strong enough to prevent accidental loosening between them. In addition, the surround sound speaker device should also be flexibly detached to the soundbar main body so that the surround sound speaker device can be easily removed and set up separately when needed. However, the prior art of designs of the soundbars usually fail to satisfy both of these requirements.

[0005] Therefore, the technical problem to be solved by the present disclosure is to provide a soundbar assembly that is simple in structure and can be assembled and disassembled as needed.SUMMARY

[0040] The disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings and description. The components in the drawings are not necessarily to scale, emphasis instead being placed upon illustrating the principles of the disclosure. Moreover, in the figures, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the different views.

[0041] As used herein, the singular forms “a” , “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. The terms “comprises” , “comprising” , “includes” , and / or “including” , as used herein, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements, and / or components, but do not preclude the  presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components, and / or groups thereof. As used herein, the term “and / or” and the symbol “ / ” are meant to include any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. Additionally, while the terms first, second, etc. may be used herein to describe various elements, components, steps or calculations, these elements, components, steps or calculations should not be limited by these terms, rather these terms are only used to distinguish one element, component, step or calculation from another. For example, a first component could be termed a second component, similarly a first calculation could be termed a second calculation; similarly a first step could be termed a second step; all without departing from the scope of this disclosure.

[0042] One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a soundbar assembly, comprising at least: a first module with a first housing having a first docking end and a fixed magnet fixedly mounted at the first docking end; a second module with a second housing having a second docking end and a movable magnet movably arranged at the second docking end relative to the second housing; and an operating device, wherein the first module and the second module are capable of being shape-fitting connected to form the soundbar assembly, wherein the operating device is constructed to move the movable magnet between a docking position and a separating position, and wherein in the docking position, the fixed magnet and the movable magnet are faced to each other and a first magnetic attraction is formed between the first module and said second module, and in the separating position, the first magnet and the second magnet are offset from each other and a second magnetic attraction is formed between the first module and the second module, wherein the first magnetic attraction is greater than the second magnetic attraction.

[0043] In contrast to the prior art, the magnetic attraction between the components of the soundbar assembly according to the present disclosure is adjustable. The fixed magnets provided on the first module are not movable with respect to the first housing, while the movable magnets provided on the second module are capable of moving with respect to the second housing as needed. The fixed magnets and the movable magnets are arranged in pairs, and the relative position between the two is changed by moving the movable magnets with the aid of the operating device. When the fixed magnet and the movable magnet are facing each  other, a relative great magnetic attraction is formed between them, thus ensuring a reliable connection between the components of the soundbar assembly in the assembled state. As the spacing between the two increases by rotation or translation of the movable magnet, the magnetic attraction decreases to an extent that the user can easily detach the first module from the second module.

[0044] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the movable magnet is capable of rotating about a rotation axis extending along a height direction of the soundbar assembly, thereby switching between the docking position and the separating position. To this end, the operating device comprises a sliding switch slidable along a width direction of the soundbar assembly, wherein the width direction is perpendicular to the height direction; a rotation shaft extending along the height direction, wherein the movable magnet is rotatably arranged by means of the rotation shaft; a transmission mechanism which acts between the sliding switch and the movable magnet in order to convert a translational movement of the sliding switch along the width direction into a rotational movement of the movable magnet.

[0045] According to the embodiment, the relative position between the fixed magnet and the movable magnet is changed by rotating the movable magnet.

[0046] In one or more embodiments, the transmission mechanism comprises a rotating shank and a drive link, wherein the rotating shank is torsion-proof connected to the movable magnet and comprises a rotating shank protrusion, and the drive link is fixedly connected to the sliding switch and comprises a link guide slot, wherein the rotating shank protrusion is movably embedded in the link guide slot, when the sliding switch is translated along the width direction, a translation of the drive link is actuated, thereby realizing a rotation of the rotating shank.

[0047] In one or more embodiments, the link guide slot is constructed as a long hole. This provides more degrees of freedom for the rotating shank, thus preventing motion jams in the drive mechanism.

[0048] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the second docking end comprises a magnet mounting frame for the movable magnet comprising mounting frame guide slot extending arcuately, wherein the rotating shank protrusion passes through the mounting frame guide slot and can be guided therein.

[0049] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the movable magnet is capable of translating along a width direction of the soundbar, thereby switching between the docking position and the separating position.

[0050] According to the embodiment, the relative position between the fixed magnet and the movable magnet is changed by translating the movable magnet.

[0051] In one or more embodiments, the operating device comprises a pushing switch movable along the width direction; a translating cradle connected to the pushing switch, wherein the movable magnet is fixedly arranged on the translating cradle so that translation of the translating cradle along the width direction is realized by the movement of the pushing switch.

[0052] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the operating device comprises a bias member which enables automatic returning of the movable magnet from the separating position to the docking position. In one or more embodiments, the bias member is constructed as a bias spring acting between the translating cradle and the second housing.

[0053] In one or more embodiments, the fixed magnet and the movable magnet are the same in number. It is of course possible to provide different numbers of the fixed and movable magnets.

[0054] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the first docking end and the second docking end are constructed as shape-fitting sockets and plugs, respectively. Mutually cooperating guide rods and guide holes are provided in the first docking end and the second docking end, respectively.

[0055] In one or more embodiments, the first docking end is constructed as a concave socket within which convex guide rods are provided. The second docking end is constructed as a convex plug on which guide holes are provided for adapting to the guide rods. The design approach provides more mounting space for the movable magnets and guide rods, respectively, and facilitates a compact structural design. Of course, different structures are possible. For example, the first docking end is constructed as a plug that is outwardly convex and the second docking end is constructed as a socket that is inwardly concave.

[0056] In one or more embodiments, the first module is a soundbar main body and the  second module is at least one surround sound speaker removably connected to the soundbar main body.

[0057] Fig. 1 to Fig. 8 schematically illustrate a soundbar assembly 10 according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0058] The soundbar assembly 10 comprises detachable components, that is a first module 12 constructed as a soundbar main body, at least one second module 14 constructed as surround sound speaker and detachably connected to the first module 12. The soundbar assembly 10 extends longitudinally along a length direction y and has relatively small dimensions in a width direction x and a height direction z, which are perpendicular to the length direction y. The first module 12 and the second module 14 could be inserted into and detached from each other along the length direction y to switch between an assembled state shown in FIG. 1 and a disassembled state shown in FIG. 2.

[0064] In one or more embodiments, there are two fixed magnets 126 provided at the firs docking end 122 and two movable magnets 146 provided at the second docking end 142, to enable the fixed and movable magnets to be arranged in pairs. In the assembled state shown in FIG. 1, the fixed magnets 126 are in a docking position, wherein the fixed magnets 126 and the movable magnets 146 are facing each other, thereby creating a first magnetic attraction between the first module 12 and the second module 14. And when it is necessary to divide the soundbar assembly 10 into the disassembled state shown in FIG. 2, the movable magnet 146 has to be moved to its separating position, wherein a second magnetic attraction smaller than the first magnetic attraction is formed between the fixed magnet 126 and the movable magnet 146 so as to facilitate the separation of the first module 12 from the second module 14 by user. To this end, the position of the movable magnet 146 changes relative to the fixed magnet 126.

[0065] Of course, the number of fixed and movable magnets can be varied as needed.

[0066] An operating device arranged in the second module 14 is provided for realizing the movement of the movable magnet 146.

[0067] In the embodiment as shown in FIGS. 1-FIG. 8, the relative position between the movable magnet 146 and the fixed magnet 126 is changed by rotation of the movable magnet 146. A first operating device 16 is configured to rotate the movable magnet 146.

[0068] As shown in FIGS. 4-FIG. 6, the second housing 140 comprises a magnet mounting frame 148 at the second docking end 142 constructed as a cylindrical frame having  a substantially semicircular cross-section. A mounting frame guide slot 1480 extending arcuately is provided on a top surface of the magnet mounting frame 148.

[0069] For the sake of clearly showing the structure of the first operating device 16, some parts of the second housing 140 are omitted in FIGS. 4 and 6, respectively. This first operating device 16 comprises a sliding switch 160 slidable along the width direction x of the soundbar assembly 10, a rotation shaft 162 extending along the height direction z, and a transmission mechanism. The sliding switch 160 protrudes outwardly of the second housing 140 from a housing slot 1400 on a top surface of the second housing 140 to allow a user to manually slide the sliding switch 160. The movable magnet 146 is constructed in an arc shape, preferably having a semicircular cross-section, and is arranged about the rotation shaft 162 so as to rotate in the magnet mounting frame 148. A transmission mechanism acts between the sliding switch 160 and the movable magnet 146 in order to convert a translational movement of the sliding switch 160 along the width direction x into a rotational movement of the movable magnet 146. The transmission mechanism comprises a rotating shank 164 and a drive link 166, wherein the rotating shank 164 is torsion-proof connected to the movable magnet 146 and comprises a rotating shank protrusion 1640. The drive link 166 is fixedly connected to the sliding switch 160 and comprises a link guide slot 1660. The rotation shank 164 passes through the mounting frame guide slot 1480 of the magnet mounting frame 148 and is embedded in the link guide slot 1660. In one or more embodiments, the link guide slot 1660 is constructed as a long hole. When the sliding switch 160 is translated along the width direction x, a translation of the drive link 166 is actuated, thereby also moving the rotating shank protrusion 1640 along the curved mounting frame guide slot 1480, thus realizing the rotation of the rotating shank 164. Because of the torsion-proof connection of the rotating shank 164 to the movable magnet 146, it can rotate about the rotation shaft 162.

[0070] The movable magnet 146 is capable of rotating at least 45°, preferably at least 90°. As shown in FIG. 7, when the sliding switch 160 is located at one end of the housing slot 1400 in the width direction x, the movable magnet 146 faces directly toward the fixed magnet 126, not shown in the figures, with its arcuate section, at which point the movable magnet 146 is in a docking position and the first magnetic attraction between it and the fixed magnet 126 is formed. As shown in FIG. 8, when the sliding switch 160 is moved along the width direction  x to the other end of the housing slot 1400, the movable magnet 146 is rotated by 90° with its arcuate section, thereby becoming angularly misaligned with the fixed magnet 126 not shown in the figure, at which point the movable magnet 146 is in its separating position and the second magnetic attraction smaller than the first magnetic attraction is formed between the fixed magnet 126 and the movable magnet 146 for the first module 12 to be separation from the second module 14.
