Abstract

A dispenser is disclosed for dispensing strips, such as soap strips provided in a stack, the stack having an uppermost strip and a lowermost strip. The dispenser comprises a housing, having a compartment for receiving the stack and a dispensing opening through which the lowermost strip can be dispensed to a user. A bias element for biasing the stack towards the dispensing opening has a lower surface for engaging the stack and an upper surface. The dispenser includes a level sensor, adapted to determine a degree of filling of the dispenser. By providing a level sensor, the number of strips remaining in the dispenser can be determined.
