Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] Power outage alert system

[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is a power outage warning system. It is an innovation that offers advantages previously unknown within current technologies.

[0005] TECHNICAL SECTOR

[0006] The present invention falls within the field of electricity in electrical communications technology, especially in the production, conversion or distribution of electrical energy, specifically safety protection circuits, as well as safety protection circuits for automatic disconnection due directly to an undesirable change in normal non-electrical working conditions with or without reconnection.

[0007] STATE OF THE ART

[0008] The present invention arises from the identification that failures in the electrical installation of homes can cause unexpected power outages, generating a significant risk of loss of food in the refrigerator and freezer.

[0009] This situation becomes especially critical when owners do not have enough time to address the problem, such as those who have to be away on vacation.

[0010] Given this problem, the need arises for a system that sends alerts via SMS, internet or telephone call, at the moment a power outage occurs.

[0011] Accordingly, this invention presents a power outage alert system specifically designed to allow users to receive instant notifications of a power failure. This ensures the possibility of taking measures to preserve food and provides peace of mind in the face of potential problems, thereby improving safety and the user experience. Currently, no power outage alert system is known to exist that has structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal to or similar to those described in this specification, as claimed.

[0012] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] The object of the present invention is the creation of an alert system for absence of electricity that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.

[0014] The present invention relates to an alert system for detecting power outages. It comprises an alert device incorporating a mains connection module, a diagnostic button, and a communications module, preferably GSM, associated with a control circuit. The system also has its own power source, such as a rechargeable or replaceable backup battery. This system detects power outages, sends alerts via SMS, phone call, instant messaging, or email, and activates indicator lights and an audible alarm to provide information about the power supply status at a given location.

[0015] This invention solves the need for a system that immediately notifies of the absence of electricity, thus preventing the loss of food and other problems resulting from power outages.

[0016] By offering alerts, for example via SMS or phone call, it allows users to be informed in real time, giving them the ability to make quick decisions to mitigate the effects of power outages.

[0017] In addition, the activation of indicators and sound alerts facilitates the identification of the problem, improving the user's safety and peace of mind.

[0018] The alert device has a compact casing made of insulating material, on the back of which is the electrical network connection module.

[0019] The connection module preferably includes a plug that connects to an electrical outlet and is linked to a control circuit that detects power outages. Additionally, the diagnostic button is visibly and easily accessible on the alarm device housing, allowing verification of the operating status of the power connection module, the control circuit, the communications module, and the indicator elements.

[0020] The communications module is integrated into the control circuit and is configured to send alert messages using a SIM card housed in a SIM slot, accessible on the outside of the alert device housing, or by means of an easy-to-use housing opening mechanism.

[0021] This control circuit manages the sending of alert messages through a configuration implemented using commands that the user sends to the communications module. These commands can arrive via SMS sent to the communications module from any mobile phone, or through other wireless communication methods such as Bluetooth or TCP / IP links.

[0022] This feature not only allows the user to customize parameters, such as alert recipients and notification frequency, but also ensures that the device responds via SMS or other means to the originating device, confirming receipt and correct application of the settings.

[0023] Furthermore, the control circuit includes a backup battery, allowing the alert device to operate continuously during power outages.

[0024] The indicator elements are located on the front or side of the housing and preferably include at least one LED indicator that displays the status of the communication link, preferably GSM. This indicator uses a change in colors or flashing frequencies to indicate: "searching" when attempting to establish a connection, "connected" when the connection is successful, and "error" if there is a problem with the connection.

[0025] Additionally, there is an external power status LED indicator that shows whether the device is receiving power correctly, and a backup battery status LED indicator that reveals charging problems or deterioration. There is also an alarm status LED indicator that indicates no alarm recipient has been defined, allowing the user to quickly identify the need to adjust the device settings.

[0026] Finally, the sound system is integrated into the alert device, consisting of a piezoelectric buzzer or speaker that emits audible alerts via BIP. These alerts indicate the activation of the alert device, a power outage alarm, a low battery alarm, and a GSM connection failure alarm.

[0027] In addition, the alert device includes a wireless connection module, such as WiFi, which allows connection to a mobile application or web platform to perform customized configurations.

[0028] To use the power outage alert system, the user must install the device in a power outlet and ensure that the connection module is operational.

[0029] It is necessary to insert a SIM card into the corresponding slot and customize the settings using the commands enabled for this purpose.

[0030] The device's indicators and audible alerts will inform about the status of the power supply and any potential problems, allowing the user to ensure food preservation and maintain peace of mind in the event of power outages.

[0031] EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES
