An automation system and method for machining a workpiec by a machine tool

Abstract

The present invention is related to an automation system applied for machining a workpiece by a machine tool. The system comprises: a. the machine tool for machining the workpiece; b. a magazine in which a plurality of machining-related objects, in particular workpieces and machining tools are stored; c. a robot configured to move the machining-related objects between the machine tool and the magazine; d. a detecting device configured to monitor presence of a person in an operating area; e. a monitoring device configured to monitor the status of the magazine; and f. a central processing unit configured to control the robot and to control the monitoring device based on the result obtained by the detecting device, wherein the central processing unit is configured to allow continued operation of the robot and machining process while the detecting device detects the presence of the person in the operating area.
