Embodiment Construction

[0028] First, refer to figure 1 , shows an embodiment of a vessel 1 provided with the mooring system of the invention. The vessel 1 comprises a passage 2 through a so-called well of the vessel for receiving a turret 3 . The turret 3 is anchored to the seabed (not shown) in a known manner, eg by mooring lines 4 . However, it should be noted that the cable 4 may also or additionally be used to anchor the production line of the turret 3 (eg for gas or oil).

[0029] exist figure 1 In , the turret 3 has been schematically represented as a pipe. It should be understood, however, that such a turret, as known per se and which therefore requires no further explanation, will have a more complex construction with some elements not shown here.

[0030] The vessel 1 is also provided with a turret housing 5 connected to the vessel 1 and defining the perimeter of the channel 2 . In a manner known per se and not shown in detail here, such a turret housing 5 can comprise special construc...

Abstract

Vessel (1) with mooring system, comprising a turret (3) anchored to the seabed and a turret casing (5) being part of the vessel, wherein the turret (3) and turret casing (5) are interconnected by a connecting element (6) comprising a bearing arrangement (7) and wherein the connecting element (6) has a first end connected to the turret casing and an opposite second end connected to the turret. Theconnecting element (6) is positioned in such a manner that it experiences tensile forces. When the turret (3) downwardly loads the turret casing (5) the first end of the connecting element (6) is positioned at a higher level then the second end thereof. When the turret (3) upwardly loads the turret casing (5) the first end of the connecting element (6) is positioned at a lower level then the second end thereof.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates firstly to a ship with a mooring system comprising a turret anchored to the seabed and a turret shell which is part of the ship, wherein the turret and the turret shell are composed of bearing means arrangement), and wherein the connector has a first end connected to the turret housing and an opposite second end connected to the turret. Background technique [0002] It is to be noted that although the notation "boat" is used in this description, this expression does not limit the scope of the invention to ships or boats, but extends to various devices floating on the sea, such as Like buoys or floating production facilities. [0003] The mooring system is used to moor the boat while enabling it to turn so that the boat can rotate with the wind, to assume a position where the load on the mooring system (and also on the boat) is minimized. [0004] The turret defines a substantially ground-resistant portion that may be anchored to...
