Abstract

The invention provides a water jacket tightness detection device and method for a bipolar plate of a fuel cell. The device comprises a gas source, a reducing valve, a pressure gauge, a testing end plate, a press and a separating clip, wherein an air inlet and an air outlet which are communicated with the inlet and outlet of the water jacket of the tested bipolar plate and an upper testing end plate positioning hole corresponding to the positioning hole of the tested bipolar plate are formed on the upper testing end plate, and the air outlet end is connected with a stop valve; the air inlet is connected with the reducing valve and the gas source, and the pressure gauge is connected between the air inlet and the reducing valve; a separating clip inlet, a separating clip outlet and a separating clip positioning hole are formed on the separating clip, and a positioning pin passes through the positioning hole; and the testing end plate clamps the tested bipolar plate, and is arranged between an upper die and a lower die of the press. The testing method comprises: introducing testing gas to a tested component and preserving pressure; and determining the air tightness of the tested component according to pressure changes in the tested component during the pressure preserving period. The method and the device have the advantages of wide measurement range, low device cost and strong interference resistance, and are simple and stable in operation.
