Embodiment Construction

[0023] Generally speaking, one embodiment of the present invention includes an orthodontic device capable of moving teeth according to a predetermined treatment plan, such as figure 1 with figure 2 Shown. In particular, the orthodontic device can move one or more teeth from one orientation to another, so as to advance the overall orientation of the teeth to their final aesthetic position as a whole. In a certain embodiment of the present invention, a series of single orthodontic devices can be used to complete orthodontic treatment. Therefore, each device in the series can move one or more teeth a prescribed amount. Over time, these individual amounts can eventually lead to the completion of the treatment of the patient's malocclusion.

[0024] For illustration only, in a specific embodiment, the orthodontic device may include an orthosis. This orthosis includes components similar to those disclosed in the U.S. Patent No. 5,975,893, but the method of manufacturing the orthosis...

Abstract

A system for fabricating a customized appliance for the orthodontic treatment of teeth (10), comprising a forming appliance (20) comprising plural cavities each shaped to conform to the crown of a tooth (10) and customized extensions (22) which are chemically bonded to thermoformed aligners in a dental repositioning system. These extensions facilitate rigid and precise attachment of aligners to auxiliary devices such as TADs (Temporary Anchorage Devices) (12) or are used as a mechanism to strengthen the aligner in specific areas. This facilitates simultaneous wear of aligners and sectional braces for the treatment of dental malocclusions.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to an orthodontic device, in particular to an orthodontic corrector. Background technique [0002] In traditional orthodontic treatment, the dentist or his assistant installs orthodontic devices, such as orthodontic brackets, on the patient's teeth, and engages the arch wires in the grooves of each bracket. The arch wire exerts a corrective force on the teeth, which forces the teeth to move to the correct orthodontic position. A traditional lashing wire, such as a small elastic O-ring or pure metal wire, is used to keep the archwire in the groove of each bracket. Because it is difficult to apply a single lashing wire to each bracket, self-locking orthodontic brackets have been developed to keep the archwire in the groove of the bracket by relying on a movable latch or slider. This type of orthodontic bracket does not require lashing wires. [0003] Traditional orthodontic brackets are usually formed of stainless steel and are connecte...
