The method comprises the steps that position information of at least two associated mobile terminals is received; the reference distances between the associated mobile terminals and a reference position are calculated according to a preset rule; target themes corresponding to the reference distances of the mobile terminals are acquired; theme switching instructions are sent to the associated mobile terminals, wherein the theme switching instructions are used for controlling the associated mobile terminals to switch themes of the mobile terminals to the target themes of the mobile terminals respectively. According to the theme switching method and the mobile terminals, position information of the associated mobile terminals is acquired, the reference distances between the associated mobile terminals and the reference position are calculated according to the position information, the target themes switched by the mobile terminals are determined according to the reference distances, synchronous theme switching on all the associated mobile terminals is achieved, and the interactivity among users is improved in the aspect of theme switching.
