Abstract
Description
Magnetic latching relay
[0001] This disclosure claims priority to Chinese patent application No. 202311377045.6 filed on October 23, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0002] The present disclosure relates to the technical field of relays, and in particular to a magnetic latching relay. Background Art
[0003] A latching relay is an electronic switch that connects and disconnects a load circuit. When a pulse voltage is applied to the relay's coil, the relay's magnetic circuit structure generates a constant magnetic field, which keeps the relay in a closed or open state. The relay includes terminals for electrical connection to an external load. These terminals typically extend perpendicular to the base. When the relay is connected to a load current, the alternating current generates an alternating magnetic field, which is at least partially coplanar with the constant magnetic field generated by the magnetic circuit structure.
[0004] However, since some lead ends are close to the magnetic circuit structure, when the magnetic flux lines of the alternating magnetic field are in opposite directions to the magnetic flux lines of the constant magnetic field, the constant magnetic field will be weakened. When the directions are the same, the stability of the constant magnetic field will be disturbed. Especially in a high current environment, it may cause the magnetic latching relay to disconnect, resulting in instability during use.
[0005] The above information disclosed in this Background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the background of the present disclosure and therefore it may include information that does not constitute the relevant technology that is already known to a person of ordinary skill in the art.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0033] Example embodiments will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, example embodiments can be implemented in many forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete and will fully convey the concepts of the example embodiments to those skilled in the art. Like reference numerals in the figures represent like or similar structures, and thus their detailed description will be omitted.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 3 , the magnetic latching relay according to the embodiment of the present disclosure includes a base 1 , a contact structure 2 , a first static spring lead-out member 3 , a coil assembly 6 and a magnetic circuit structure 7 .
[0035] As shown in Figure 1, the contact structure 2 is arranged on the base 1. The contact structure 2 has a first end 21 and a second end 22 in the horizontal direction X. The first end 21 is provided with a first contact group including a first movable contact 211 and a first static contact 212, and the second end 22 is provided with a second contact group including a second movable contact 221 and a second static contact 222.
[0036] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG1 , the contact structure 2 includes a first reed 201 extending in a transverse direction X. The first end 21 of the first reed 201 includes two first stationary contacts 212, and the second end 22 of the first reed 201 includes two second movable contacts 221. The contact structure 2 further includes a second reed 202 parallel to the first reed 201. The first end 21 of the second reed 202 includes two first movable contacts 211, corresponding to the two first stationary contacts 212, and the second end 22 of the second reed 202 includes two second stationary contacts 222, corresponding to the two second movable contacts 221. When the magnetic latching relay is closed, the first movable contact 211 contacts the first stationary contact 212, and the second movable contact 221 contacts the second stationary contact 222, and the first reed 201 and the second reed 202 are energized.
[0037] In some embodiments, the first end 21 of the first reed 201 may further have a first static contact 212 , and the second end 22 of the first reed 201 may have a second static contact 222 . The first end 21 of the second reed 202 may have a first movable contact 211 , and the second end 22 of the second reed 202 may have a second movable contact 221 .
[0038] As shown in Figure 4 , the first static spring lead-out member 3 includes a first lead-out portion 31 and a second lead-out portion 32 , which are connected. The first lead-out portion 31 is connected to the first end 21 of the contact structure 2 , while the second lead-out portion 32 extends from the bottom of the base 1 along the vertical direction Z. As shown in Figure 4 , the first lead-out portion 31 has a guide groove 33 . The guide groove 33 extends in the horizontal direction X from the side of the first lead-out portion 31 near the second end 22 and does not pass through the first lead-out portion 31 . The opening of the guide groove 33 faces the second contact group at the second end 22 of the contact structure 2 .
[0039] In some embodiments, the guide slot 33 is located on one side of the first static contact 212 in the vertical direction Z. That is, the guide slot 33 extends from the side of the first lead-out portion 31 proximate to the second end 22 of the contact structure 2 to at least one side of the first static contact 212 in the vertical direction Z. In this manner, the load current flowing from the first contact group into the first static spring lead-out member 3 can flow through the portion of the first lead-out portion 31 away from the second contact group, thereby allowing the load current to flow away from the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6, thereby preventing the alternating magnetic field generated by the load current flowing vertically through the first static spring lead-out member 3 from affecting the constant magnetic field generated by the magnetic circuit structure 7.
[0040] In some embodiments, the depth of the guide groove 33 along the transverse direction X is 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 of the dimension of the first lead portion 31 along the transverse direction X, to ensure that the rated current is less than or equal to 200 A. In other words, while ensuring that the rated current meets the above conditions, the depth of the guide groove 33 is as large as possible. This allows the load current flowing in the first static spring lead-out member 3 to be kept as far away from the constant magnetic field as possible, preventing the alternating magnetic field generated by the load current from affecting the constant magnetic field generated by the magnetic circuit structure 7.
[0041] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 4 , the first lead portion 31 of the first static spring lead-out member 3 is connected to the first static contact 212, and the second lead portion 32 extends from the bottom of the base 1 along the vertical direction Z. Specifically, the first lead-out portion 31 can be connected to the side of the first spring 201 facing away from the second spring 202, that is, to the end of the first static contact 212 away from the first movable contact 211. In the disclosed embodiment, two contact structures 2 can be provided, and thus two first static spring lead-out members 3 can be provided.
[0042] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG6 , there are two first stationary contacts 212 . The first spring 201 of the contact structure 2 has a slot 203 , which extends from the second end 22 of the first spring 201 (i.e., the second end 22 of the contact structure 2 ) along the transverse direction X to between the two first stationary contacts 212 . The guide slot 33 of the first stationary spring lead-out member 3 is located between the two first stationary contacts 212 .
[0043] Because the first spring piece 201 has a slot 203, when a load current flows into the first spring piece 201, the load current is split into two paths, flowing along either side of the slot 203. When the current flows through the first lead portion 31 of the first static spring lead-out member 3, the current is further split into two paths, flowing along either side of the guide slot 33. The current above the guide slot 33 (in the vertical direction Z) bypasses the guide slot 33 and changes direction to flow along the vertical direction Z. When the load current flows from the second lead portion 32 to the first lead portion 31, the guide slot 33 extending in the transverse direction X on the first lead portion 31 ensures that the load current flows along the vertical direction Z on the first lead portion 31, flowing through the portion of the first lead portion 31 away from the second end 22 of the contact structure 2. Therefore, by providing a slot 203 on the first spring leaf 201 and a guide slot 33 on the first static spring lead-out part 3, when the load current flows through the first lead-out part 31 in the vertical direction Z, the load current can bypass the guide slot 33 and flow in the part of the first lead-out part 31 away from the second contact group (as shown by the dotted arrow in Figure 6). As shown in Figure 5, the first alternating magnetic field S2 formed by the load current flowing along the vertical direction Z on the first static spring lead-out part 3 can be away from the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil 62, reducing the influence of the first alternating magnetic field S2 on the constant magnetic field S1 formed between the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6, making the magnetic holding relay more stable.
[0044] As shown in Figures 1, 4, and 5, the magnetic latching relay of the embodiment of the present disclosure further includes a second static spring lead-out member 4. One end of the second static spring lead-out member 4 is connected to the second static contact 222 of the second end 22 of the contact structure 2, and the other end extends from the second static contact 222 in the direction away from the first contact group along the horizontal direction X, and extends from the side wall of the base 1. As shown in Figure 5, one end of the second static spring lead-out member 4 is connected to the side of the second spring leaf 202 facing away from the first spring leaf 201, that is, connected to the end of the second static contact 222 away from the second moving contact 221. The second static spring lead-out member 4 extends along the horizontal direction X, and the other end is a free end. In the embodiment of the present disclosure, there can be two contact structures 2, and therefore two second static spring lead-out members 4.
[0045] As shown in Figures 3 and 4 , the magnetic latching relay of the present embodiment further includes a lead pin 5 . The lead pin 5 is located outside the base 1 and extends along the vertical direction Z. One end of the lead pin 5 is connected to the end of the second static spring lead member 4 located outside the base 1 (i.e., the free end described above), and the other end is free.
[0046] Continuing with Figure 4 , the first static spring lead 3 and the second static spring lead 4 are each connected to a load circuit. Taking two contact structures 2 as an example, when the first and second contact groups are in contact, as shown in Figure 4 , the current in the external load circuit can flow in a vertical direction Z into one of the first static spring lead 3, then through one of the contact structures 2, then through one of the second static spring lead 4, before flowing into the load circuit. The current in the load circuit can then flow in a vertical direction Z into the other second static spring lead 4, then through the other contact structure 2, then through the other first static spring lead 3, before flowing into the load circuit (as indicated by the arrows in Figure 4 ).
[0047] Because the current in the load circuit is alternating current, an alternating voltage is generated when the current flows through the magnetic latching relay. For example, if the first static spring lead 3 extends in the vertical direction Z, the load current flowing in the first lead portion 31 and the second lead portion 32 in the vertical direction Z generates the first alternating magnetic field S2, whose magnetic flux lines are shown as the dotted circle in Figure 5. The lead pin 5 extends in the vertical direction Z, and the magnetic flux lines of the second alternating magnetic field S3 it generates are also shown as the dotted circle in Figure 5. In the disclosed embodiment, the distance between the lead pin 5 and the second contact group is greater than the distance between the first static spring lead 3 and the contact group. In other words, the first static spring lead pin 5 is closer to the contact structure 2.
[0048] As shown in FIG2 , the coil assembly 6 of the disclosed embodiment is disposed on the base 1 and positioned between the two contact structures 2. A magnetic circuit structure 7 is positioned between the coil assembly 6 and one of the contact structures 2. As shown in FIG5 , when a pulse voltage is applied to the coil assembly 6, the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6 form a constant magnetic field S1. A first centerline L1 of the constant magnetic field S1 in the longitudinal direction Y deviates from a second centerline L2 between the first and second contact groups and is closer to the second contact group.
[0049] As shown in FIG5 , the first center line L1 is a straight line passing through the middle of the stationary magnetic field S1 in the longitudinal direction Y, and the second center line L2 is a straight line passing through the middle of the first contact group and the second contact group in the longitudinal direction Y.
[0050] As shown in FIG5 , because the magnetic circuit structure 7, coil assembly 6, and first lead portion 31 of the first static spring lead 3 are all located within the base 1, the magnetic flux lines of the constant magnetic field S1 formed by the magnetic circuit structure 7 and coil assembly 6 are at least partially coplanar with the magnetic flux lines of the first alternating magnetic field S2 generated by the first static spring lead 3. If the two magnetic fields partially overlap, then when the direction of the magnetic flux lines of the first alternating magnetic field S2 is opposite to that of the constant magnetic field S1, the constant magnetic field S1 will be weakened, potentially causing the latching relay to trip. If the direction of the magnetic flux lines of the first alternating magnetic field S2 is the same as that of the constant magnetic field S1, the first alternating magnetic field S2 may affect the stability of the constant magnetic field S1 and thus the operational stability of the latching relay. However, in this embodiment, the first centerline L1 of the constant magnetic field S1 deviates from the second centerline L2 between the first and second contact groups and is closer to the second contact group. This keeps the constant magnetic field S1 away from the first alternating magnetic field S2 of the first static spring lead 3, preventing overlap and further improving the stability of the latching relay.
[0051] In addition, since the second static spring lead-out member 4 extends out of the side wall of the base 1, the lead-out pin 5 is located outside the base 1, so that the second alternating magnetic field S3 generated at the lead-out pin 5 is far away from the constant magnetic field S1. At the same time, since the base 1 has a shielding effect, the second alternating magnetic field S3 will not affect the constant magnetic field S1 generated by the magnetic circuit structure 7.
[0052] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 2, 4, and 5, the coil assembly 6 includes a bobbin 61, a coil 62, and an iron core 63. The bobbin 61 is disposed on the base 1, the coil 62 is wound around the bobbin 61, and the iron core 63 is located within the bobbin 61. The first centerline L1 passes through the center of the bobbin 61.
[0053] That is, the first center line L1 coincides with the center line of the coil bobbin 61 , and the coil bobbin 61 is offset relative to the contact structure 2 .
[0054] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 , the magnetic circuit structure 7 includes a permanent magnet 71 , an armature 72 , a first yoke 74 , and a second yoke 75 .
[0055] As shown in FIG2 , the permanent magnet 71 is swingably mounted on the base 1 , and the armature 72 is mounted on the permanent magnet 71 , with the armature 72 protruding from the permanent magnet 71 in the transverse direction X. Two armatures 72 may be provided, one on each side of the permanent magnet 71 in the longitudinal direction Y, with each armature 72 protruding from the permanent magnet 71 in the transverse direction X.
[0056] As shown in FIG1 , the magnetic circuit structure 7 further includes an injection molded part 73. The injection molded part 73 covers the permanent magnet 71 and a portion of the armature 72, thereby securely connecting the permanent magnet 71 and the armature 72. The portion of the armature 72 protruding from the permanent magnet 71 is not covered by the injection molded part 73. In other words, the permanent magnet 71 and the armature 72 can be secured together using an injection molding process.
[0057] As shown in FIG1 , the injection molded part 73 has a rotating shaft 731. One end of the rotating shaft 731 is connected to the axial hole of the base 1, allowing the injection molded part 73, the armature 72, and the permanent magnet 71 to swing about the rotating shaft 731. The other end of the rotating shaft 731 can be connected to the axial hole of the fixing frame 10 (shown in FIG7 ). The injection molded part 73 is able to swing about the rotating shaft 731 on the base 1 via the rotating shaft 731. The fixing frame 10 is used to limit the position of the permanent magnet 71, the armature 72, and the injection molded part 73, preventing them from separating from the base 1.
[0058] As shown in FIG2 , the first yoke 74 and the second yoke 75 are fixed to the base 1 and are located on opposite sides of the coil assembly 6. The first yoke 74 is located on one side of the coil assembly 6 in the horizontal direction X, with one end of the first yoke 74 connected to one end of the iron core 63, and the other end of the first yoke 74 capable of contacting and connecting with one end of the armature 72 (i.e., when the permanent magnet 71 swings to one side, the other end of the first yoke 74 overlaps one end of the armature 72, and when the permanent magnet 71 swings to the other side, the other end of the first yoke 74 separates from one end of the armature 72). The second yoke 75 is located on the other side of the coil assembly 6 in the horizontal direction X, with one end of the second yoke 75 connected to the other end of the iron core 63, and the other end of the second yoke 75 capable of contacting and connecting with the other end of the armature 72 (i.e., when the permanent magnet 71 swings to the other side, the other end of the second yoke 75 overlaps the other end of the armature 72, and when the permanent magnet 71 swings to the other side, the other end of the second yoke 75 separates from the other end of the armature 72). When a pulse voltage is applied to the coil 62, the permanent magnet 71 swings to one side about the rotating shaft 731, generating a constant magnetic field S1 at the permanent magnet 71, the armature 72, the first yoke 74, the core 63, and the second yoke 75. A first centerline L1 of this constant magnetic field S1 passes through the center of the permanent magnet 71, that is, through the center of the rotating shaft 731 (the center of the rotating shaft 731 and the center of the permanent magnet 71 can be aligned). The rotating shaft 731 is located in the middle of the magnetic circuit structure 7. Therefore, the magnetic circuit structure 7 is offset relative to the contact structure 2 and closer to the second contact group.
[0059] In some embodiments, the distance between the first centerline L1 and the second centerline L2 is 6 to 9 mm. For example, in addition to the two extreme values described above, the distance between the first centerline L1 and the second centerline L2 can also be 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, or 8.5 mm. By setting the distance between the first centerline L1 and the second centerline L2 to these values, the constant magnetic field S1 can be prevented from being affected by the first alternating magnetic field S2 generated by the first static spring lead-out member 3. Persons skilled in the art can adjust this value based on actual circumstances, and this is not specifically limited here.
[0060] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG7 , the magnetic latching relay further includes an AC transformer 8. The portion of the second static spring lead-out member 4 extending from the base 1 is inserted into the AC transformer 8, positioning the AC transformer 8 between the lead-out pin 5 and the second contact set. Because the AC transformer 8 is positioned between the lead-out pin 5 and the second contact set, it can block the second alternating magnetic field S3 generated by the lead-out pin 5, shielding the second alternating magnetic field S3 and preventing it from affecting the constant magnetic field S1 formed by the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6.
[0061] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG1 , the base 1 has a first side wall 11 and a second side wall 12 that are opposite to each other in a transverse direction X. The first side wall 11 is close to a first end 21 of the contact structure 2, and the second side wall 12 is close to a second end 22 of the contact structure 2. The portion of the first side wall 11 that does not correspond to the contact structure 2 in the transverse direction X is recessed inward, and the portion of the second side wall 12 that does not correspond to the contact structure 2 in the transverse direction X is protruding outward.
[0062] That is, due to the offset of the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6, the side walls of the base 1 corresponding to the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6 are also displaced, which can minimize the volume of the magnetic latching relay and save materials.
[0063] It should be noted that the "inside" and "outside" in the embodiment of the present disclosure can be understood as the inside and outside of the base 1. For example, the contact structure 2, coil assembly 6 and magnetic circuit structure 7 are all located inside the base 1, while the lead pin 5 is located outside the base 1.
[0064] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG1 , the magnetic latching relay further includes a first push card 91 and a second push card 92. The first push card 91 is located in the base 1 and adjacent to the first side wall 11. One end of the first push card 91 is connected to the first movable contact 211 in the first contact group of the contact structure 2. The second push card 92 is located in the base 1 and adjacent to the second side wall 12. One end of the second push card 92 is connected to the second movable contact 221 in the second contact group of the contact structure 2 (for example, a compression spring may be provided at the second end 22 of the first spring 201, and one end of the second push card 92 is connected to the second movable contact 221 via the compression spring). The second push card 92 protrudes toward the second side wall 12.
[0065] Continuing to refer to FIG. 1 , the injection molded part 73 of the magnetic circuit structure 7 further includes a first swing arm 732 and a second swing arm 733 . The first swing arm 732 is connected to the first push card 91 , and the second swing arm 733 is connected to the second push card 92 .
[0066] When a positive pulse voltage is applied to coil 62, permanent magnet 71 swings sideways, simultaneously driving armature 72 to swing, causing one armature 72 to overlap first yoke 74 and the other to overlap second yoke 75. The permanent magnet 71, armature 72, first yoke 74, core 63, and second yoke 75 form a constant magnetic field S1. Simultaneously, permanent magnet 71 drives first swing arm 732 and second swing arm 733 to swing. First swing arm 732 drives first push card 91 to move in the longitudinal direction Y, driving first movable contact 211 toward first stationary contact 212, causing first movable contact 211 to contact first stationary contact 212. The second swing arm 733 drives the second push card 92 to move in the longitudinal direction Y, causing the second swing arm 733 to move the second movable contact 221 toward the second static contact 222, bringing the second movable contact 221 into contact with the second static contact 222. This closes the contact structure 2, i.e., the relay, and turns on the external load circuit. When the coil 62 is de-energized, the permanent magnet 71 maintains the constant magnetic field S1, thereby maintaining the positions of the first swing arm 732 and the second swing arm 733, keeping the relay closed.
[0067] When a reverse pulse voltage is applied to coil 62, permanent magnet 71 swings to the other side, simultaneously driving armature 72 to swing to the other side. One armature 72 overlaps second yoke 75, and the other overlaps first yoke 74, forming another reverse constant magnetic field S1. Simultaneously, permanent magnet 71 drives first swing arm 732 and second swing arm 733 to swing in opposite directions, disconnecting first movable contact 211 from first stationary contact 212 and second movable contact 221 from second stationary contact 222. This disconnects the relay and the external load circuit. When coil 62 is de-energized, permanent magnet 71 maintains this constant magnetic field S1, thereby maintaining the positions of first swing arm 732 and second swing arm 733 and keeping the relay open.
[0068] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the magnetic circuit structure 7 and the coil assembly 6 are offset relative to the second center line L2 of the contact structure 2, and the portion of the second push card 92 that does not correspond to the contact structure 2 protrudes toward the second side wall 12. The first push card 91 and the second push card 92 are not symmetrical structures. Since the first swing arm 732 is connected to the first push card 91 and the second swing arm 733 is connected to the second push card 92, the arm lengths of the first swing arm 732 and the second swing arm 733 can be different, and the swing radii of the first swing arm 732 and the second swing arm 733 can be different.
[0069] To sum up, when the alternating current of the load is connected, the first alternating magnetic field S2 generated by the first static spring lead-out part 3 may affect the constant magnetic field S1 generated by the magnetic circuit structure 7. In the embodiment of the present disclosure, by setting the first center line L1 of the constant magnetic field S1 in the longitudinal direction Y to deviate from the second center line L2 between the first contact group and the second contact group, and closer to the second contact group, the magnetic circuit structure 7 is offset compared to the contact structure 2, away from the first static spring lead-out part 3, thereby avoiding the influence of the first alternating magnetic field S2 generated by the first static spring lead-out part 3 on the magnetic field generated by the magnetic circuit structure 7, and improving the stability of the magnetic holding relay.
