Abstract
Description
[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] The present invention claims priority to Provisional Patent Application No. 63111157 filed on November 9, 2020, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] The present invention relates to a handheld bubble forming mechanism, and more particularly to a bubble forming mechanism in which bubbles are formed in a novel manner. Background Art
[0004] Most conventional bubble making devices involve using a moving rod to "wipe" or using a moving plane or a moving plane containing a bubble ring to move against an object to form a bubble solution film. However, one of the main disadvantages of these designs is that the rod or plane must be very close to the bubble ring to form a bubble solution film. If there is even a small gap (which often occurs in actual production due to tolerances or assembly problems), the bubble solution film cannot be formed across the bubble ring. This problem usually causes the bubble making device to be considered defective because bubbles cannot be generated.
[0005] Therefore, there is a need for a bubble forming mechanism that reliably forms bubbles without using a moving rod or a moving object to move against a bubble ring to form a bubble film. Summary of the invention
[0006] The disadvantages of conventional bubble forming devices are overcome by the present invention by utilizing a fixed annular film forming member having an opening and a second movable member having a protruding surface, the size of which is approximately the size of the opening. Using a movable member adjacent to the opening of the fixed member, the bubble solution transferred to the top of the fixed member is caused by gravity to flow into the opening, and the surface tension of the bubble solution forms a bubble solution film in the opening and on the surface of the orifice member. The surface of the movable member is drawn out of the film in the opening, so that the wind of the wind supply unit causes the film to form and release bubbles. The movable member can repeatedly "punch" into the bubble liquid film inside the opening, thereby causing bubbles to be formed with a much higher success rate than conventional bubble film preparation devices.
[0007] The mechanism also includes a motor and a trigger connected to the motor, which trigger causes the bubble solution to be transferred from the container to the top of the film-forming member when pressed for the first time. The motor also drives the air supply in response to the first pull of the trigger. Once the motor is activated, the bubble solution will continue to be transferred to the film-forming member, and the air supply will continue to provide air flow to the film and the film-forming member until the trigger is released.
[0008] In response to releasing the trigger and pressing the trigger a second time, the movable aperture member moves to a position away from the film forming member, thereby extracting the movable member surface from the film within the film forming member opening, thereby allowing air from the wind supply portion to cause bubbles to form and release.
[0009] Repeated depression of the trigger will cause bubbles to form and release. Continuous depression of the trigger will cause a series of bubbles to form and release rapidly.
[0010] According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a bubble forming mechanism, the bubble forming mechanism comprising a first member and a second member, the first member defining an opening, the second member having a protruding surface, the size of the protruding surface being approximately the size of the first member opening. The first member and the second member are movable relative to each other between a first position and a second position; in the first position, the first member and the second member are adjacent to each other so that the second member surface is within the first member opening; in the second position, the first member and the second member are away from each other.
[0011] When enabled, the bubble solution supply is connected to supply bubble solution to the top of the first member. When enabled, the wind supply provides wind to the first member. A spring-loaded actuator is provided. When the actuator is pressed, the bubble solution supply is enabled to supply bubble solution to the first member, and the wind supply is enabled to provide wind to the first member. Releasing the trigger deactivates the bubble solution supply and the wind supply.
[0012] With the member in the adjacent position, the actuator is pressed for the first time to enable the bubble solution supply and the wind supply and move the member to the remote position. The actuator is released to deactivate the solution supply and the wind supply and move the member to the adjacent position. The actuator is pressed for the second time to enable the wind supply and the bubble solution supply to supply the bubble solution to the first member, so that gravity causes the bubble solution to form a film in the first member opening and on the first member surface, and moves the member to the remote position, wherein the wind of the wind supply causes the film to form bubbles.
[0013] The first member preferably has an annular configuration. The first member includes a channel having a wall that at least partially surrounds the first member opening. The channel is connected to a bubble solution supply to receive the bubble solution. The channel wall has at least two and preferably multiple spaced protrusions, and the solution flows from the channel to the first member opening between the multiple spaced protrusions to form a film.
[0014] The second member surface has a shape of at least one of: a cone, a hemispherical shape, an arc shape, a pointed shape, and any combination thereof.
[0015] Continuous pressing of the actuator activates the bubble solution supply and the wind supply, thereby causing a series of bubble formations.
[0016] The actuator takes the form of a trigger that is depressible from an original extended position to an activated retracted position and automatically returns to the original position when released.
[0017] When the first member and the second member move to the distant position, the wind of the wind supply part may move around the second member to the first member, or the second member rotates away from the first member so that the wind of the wind supply part may move to the first member.
[0018] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a bubble forming mechanism, the bubble forming mechanism comprising a film forming member and a second member, the film forming member defining an opening and having a top, the second member having a protruding surface, the size of the protruding surface being approximately the size of the film forming member opening. The film forming member and the second member are movable relative to each other between an initial position and a position in which the film forming member and the second member are away from each other; in the initial position, the film forming member and the second member are adjacent to each other so that the second member surface is within the film forming member opening.
[0019] When activated, the bubble solution supply portion is connected to supply the bubble solution to the top of the first member. When activated, the wind supply portion provides wind to the film-forming member.
[0020] The present invention provides a spring-loaded trigger, which, when pressed, enables a bubble solution supply to supply a bubble solution to the top of a film-forming member and enables a wind supply to provide wind to the film-forming member. When released, the trigger deactivates the bubble solution supply and the wind supply.
[0021] With the components in the adjacent position, the trigger is first pressed to activate the bubble solution supply and the wind supply and move the components to the remote position. The trigger is released to deactivate the solution supply and the wind supply and move the components to the adjacent position.
[0022] The trigger is pressed a second time to enable the wind supply section and enable the bubble solution supply section to supply the bubble solution to the top of the membrane forming member, so that gravity causes the bubble solution to form a film from the top of the membrane forming member within the opening of the membrane forming member and on the surface of the membrane forming member, and moves the member to a remote position, wherein wind from the wind supply section causes the membrane to form bubbles.
[0023] The film forming member preferably has an annular configuration. The film forming member includes a channel having a wall, the wall at least partially surrounding the film forming member opening. The channel is connected to the bubble solution supply to receive the bubble solution. The channel wall has at least two and preferably multiple spaced protrusions, and the solution flows from the channel to the film forming member opening between the multiple spaced protrusions to form a film.
[0024] The second member surface has a shape of at least one of: a cone, a hemispherical shape, an arc shape, a pointed shape, and any combination thereof.
[0025] Continuous depression of the trigger activates the bubble solution supply and the wind supply, thereby causing a series of bubble formations.
[0026] The trigger can be depressed from an original position to an activated position and automatically returns to the original position when released because the trigger is spring-loaded.
[0027] When the film forming member and the second member move to the distant position, the second member moves away from the film forming member so that the wind of the wind supply part can move around the second member to the film forming member, or rotates away from the film forming member so that the wind of the wind supply part can move to the film forming member.
[0028] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a bubble forming mechanism, the bubble forming mechanism comprising an annular member defining an opening and having a top, and a second member having a protruding surface, the size of the protruding surface being approximately the size of the annular member opening. The second member is movable relative to the annular member between an initial position and a position in which the annular member and the second member are spaced apart from each other; in the initial position, the annular member and the second member are adjacent to each other so that the second member surface is within the annular member opening.
[0029] The present invention provides a motor. When the motor is activated, a bubble solution supply part is connected to supply the bubble solution to the top of the annular component. When the motor is activated, a wind supply part is provided to supply wind to the annular component.
[0030] The spring loaded trigger controls the motor and when pressed activates the motor to cause the bubble solution supply to supply bubble solution to the top of the annular member and activates the motor to cause the wind supply to provide wind to the annular member. When released, the trigger deactivates the motor.
[0031] Since the second member is in the initial position, the trigger is pressed for the first time to activate the motor to cause the bubble solution supply to supply the bubble solution to the annular member and the wind supply to supply wind to the annular member, and move the second member to the remote position.
[0032] The trigger is released to deactivate the motor and move the second member to the initial position. The trigger is pressed a second time to activate the motor to cause the wind supply to provide wind to the annular member and activate the motor to cause the bubble solution supply to supply the bubble solution to the top of the annular member, so that gravity causes the bubble solution to form a film in the annular member opening and on the surface of the annular member from the top of the annular member, and move the member to a remote position, wherein the wind from the wind supply causes the film to form bubbles.
[0033] The mechanism also includes a battery connected to the trigger and a switch. The switch connects the motor to the battery in response to pressing the trigger.
[0034] The wind supply unit includes a motor connected to drive a propeller. The propeller is located in the housing.
[0035] Continuous pressing of the trigger activates the motor to cause the bubble solution supply portion to supply the bubble solution to the annular member and the wind supply portion to supply wind to the annular member, so that a series of bubbles are formed.
[0036] When the second member moves to the away position, the wind of the wind supply portion may move to the annular member around the second member, or rotate away from the annular member so that the wind of the wind supply portion may move to the annular member.
[0037] According to another aspect of the present invention, a film-forming member is provided for use in a bubble-forming mechanism, the bubble-forming mechanism comprising a member at least partially defining an opening and a channel adapted to receive a bubble solution, the channel having at least two spaced-apart projections between which the bubble solution flows from the channel to the opening to form a bubble solution film.
[0038] Preferably, the channel has a plurality of spaced apart protrusions between which the bubble solution flows from the channel into the opening to form the bubble solution film.
[0039] The channel has inner and outer separating channel walls. The projection is associated with the inner channel wall. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0052] Figure 1A , Figure 1B and Figure 1C The housing or casing 10 of the handheld bubble forming mechanism is shown from the front and side, respectively, and in a rotated manner (so that a portion of the front and a portion of the side are visible). The casing 10 may be made of plastic and includes a generally spherical top portion 12, a hand-held portion 14, and a bubble solution container 16.
[0053] like Figure 2 As shown in Figure 3, the spherical top portion 12 of the housing 10 contains a cavity for fixing one or more batteries, which can be taken out through a removable housing portion 22 on the top portion of the housing. The top portion 12 also contains components for forming bubbles, including a membrane forming member 18 and a device for providing air to the member 18. Below the member 18 is a bird's beak-shaped drain pipe 20, which captures the bubble solution overflowing from the member 18 and returns the overflowing bubble solution to the bubble solution container through an internal pipe (not shown).
[0054] The hand-held portion 14 of the housing includes a spring-loaded trigger 24 that can be pressed from its extended position to control bubble generation. When released, the trigger 24 automatically returns to its extended position.
[0055] The bubble solution container 16 may take the form of a plastic bottle having an externally threaded neck. The neck of the bottle is received within a recessed portion at the bottom of the handle and is connected to supply bubble solution to the film-forming member 18 when the trigger is depressed.
[0056] The trigger 24 is mechanically connected to the bubble forming parts, which are located in the top part 12, through the control rod 26. When the trigger is pressed, the trigger is also connected to activate the wind supply and the bubble solution supply.
[0057] The rod 26 has a bottom section 26A, a main section 26B and a top section 26C, which are connected to the inner surface of the housing in a manner that the depression of the transfer trigger controls the movement of the bubble forming part, the activation of the bubble solution supply part and the activation of the wind supply part.
[0058] When pressed, the trigger 24 rotates about the axis 28, which protrudes from a recess in the housing wall. The segment 26A is also connected to the trigger and rotates with it, so that pressing the trigger causes the segment 26 to rotate about the axis 28 in a counterclockwise direction, which in turn causes the rod 26 to move toward the top of the device.
[0059] Section 26B of the control rod has a part 30 extending from the side of the rod. When the rod 26 moves toward the top of the housing, the part 30 is positioned to engage the contact of the switch 32, thereby causing the engagement of the switch 32 to close. Closing the switch contact causes the switch 32 to connect one or more batteries 34 (located in a compartment 35 within the top portion 12 of the housing 10) with the motor 36.
[0060] When activated by pressing the trigger 24, the motor 36 is connected to drive both the bubble solution supply 38 and the wind supply 40. The bubble solution supply includes a flexible bubble solution supply tube 42 and a series of gears (generally designated 43) that abut the supply tube 42. One end of the supply tube 42 is located within the bubble solution container 16.
[0061] The rod 26 has a part 45 that moves with the rod and is attached to drive a gear 43 to alternatively apply pressure to compress an adjacent section of the supply tube 42 and release the pressure when the gear is rotated by the motor 36 to siphon the bubble solution from the container 16 to the membrane forming part in the top portion 12 of the housing.
[0062] The motor 36 is also connected to drive the wind supply 40. The wind supply 40 is located in the top portion of the housing below the battery 34 and includes an impeller 44 within a housing 46. When activated, the motor 36 causes the impeller 44 to rotate rapidly within the housing 46 to provide wind to the film-forming part through the wind supply duct 58, as described in more detail below.
[0063] The bubble forming parts in the top portion of the housing include a film-forming member 18 attached to the front of the housing and a member 50 that is movable relative to the member 18 by the control rod 26. The member 50 is movable relative to the member 18 between an initial position, in which the member 50 is adjacent to the member 18, and a remote position, in which the member 50 is remote from the member 18.
[0064] Component 18 has an annular configuration defining an opening 52. A top portion 54 of component 18 is located above opening 52. Component 50 has a protruding surface 56 that is approximately the same size and shape as opening 52 in component 18. The protruding shape of surface 56 allows component 50 to be easily "detached" from the bubble solution film (which is formed in opening 52) without damaging the bubble solution film. Surface 54 is preferably conical, hemispherical, curved, pointed, or any combination thereof.
[0065] In an initial position in which components 18 and 50 are adjacent to each other, surface 56 is located within opening 52 of component 18. In a remote position of the components, surface 56 is spaced apart from component 18.
[0066] When the motor 36 is activated, the bubble solution supply pipe 42 is connected to supply the bubble solution to the top portion 54 of the component 18 as explained above. When the motor is activated, the wind supply part 40 provides wind to the back of the component 18 through the wind supply part duct 58.
[0067] When the trigger 24 is pressed, the motor 36 causes the bubble solution to be supplied to the top portion of the member 18 and the wind to be supplied to the member 18. When the trigger is released, the motor is turned off.
[0068] Figure 4 The internal components are shown before the trigger 24 is pressed for the first time, with the member 50 in an initial position adjacent to the member 18. When the trigger is pressed for the first time, the motor is activated to cause the bubble solution supply to supply the bubble solution to the top of the member 18, to cause the wind supply to supply wind to the member 18, and to move the member 50 to a remote position away from the member 18.
[0069] When the trigger is released, the motor is turned off. As the control rod 26 is moved back to its original position by the spring 51, the member 50 automatically returns to the adjacent position; the spring 51 extends between the control rod and the housing.
[0070] Figure 624 is pressed for the second time. With the second pressing of the trigger, the motor activates the wind supply to provide wind to the member 18 and activates the bubble solution supply to supply the bubble solution to the top portion 54 of the member 18. Gravity then causes the bubble solution to flow from the top of the member 18 into the opening 52, so that the surface tension of the bubble solution forms a film within the opening and on the surface 56 of the member. The member 50 is moved by the movement of the control rod 26 (e.g., Figure 7 The air supply unit 47 is shown in the middle arrow 47 and is drawn out from the opening 52 and moved to a remote position. At the position of the component 50, the air from the air supply unit can reach the component 18 and cause the film in the opening 52 to form and release the air bubble 66, such as through Figure 7 As shown by arrow 49 in FIG.
[0071] FIG. 5A to FIG. 5D , FIG. 8A to FIG. 8D and 9A to 9D Three preferred embodiments of the mechanism for moving the member 50 to its remote position relative to the member 18 are shown respectively. FIG. 5A to FIG. 5D Neutral FIG. 8A to FIG. 8D In FIG. 5 , the member 50 is rotated about the axis of the shaft 60 by the movement of the rod 26. 9A to 9D In the embodiment, the member 50 is moved away from the member 18 by the rod 26 in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the member 18. In all embodiments, the member 50 moves to the rear of the member 18 until the wind of the running wind duct 58 reaches the rear of the member 18, so that the film previously formed in the opening 52 forms a bubble.
[0072] More specifically, Figure 5A , Fig. 8A and Fig. 9A A front view of the front of the member 18, a cross-sectional view of the member 18, and a cross-sectional view of the member 50 (in its initial or adjacent position) are each shown. In this position, the surface 56 is within the opening 52 of the member 18. The bubble solution supply tube 42 is also shown in cross-section, and the air supply conduit 58 is shown in cross-section.
[0073] exist Figure 5A and Fig. 8A In the embodiment, the member 50 is rotated about the axis 60 ( Fig. 8A For rotation of the axis (referenced as 62), the axis 60 extends from the interior of the housing near the top of the device. The axis 60 is adjacent to the rod section 26C so that the member 50 moves to the remote position as the control rod 26 is moved upward by pressing the trigger 24. Fig. 9A , the member 50 is moved laterally away from the member 18, as described below. These figures also show the air supply duct 58 and the bubble solution supply pipe 42 before the bubble solution is provided to the member 18.
[0074] Figure 5B , Figure 8B and Fig. 9B Bubble solution is shown being supplied to the top 54 of the component 18 via the bubble solution supply tube 42 .
[0075] Figure 5C , Figure 8C and Fig. 9C Component 50 is shown being moved to a remote position. Figure 5C In , the member 50 rotates about the axis 60 at the top of the member, as mentioned. Figure 8C In FIG. 5 , member 50 rotates about shaft 62, which is located at the bottom of the member. Shaft 62 serves the same purpose as shaft 60 and is also attached to rod section 26C, which in this case is elongated to accommodate the different positions of the shaft. Fig. 9C In the embodiment, when the trigger is pressed, the control rod is directly connected to the control rod, so that the member 50 moves away from the member 18 towards the axial extension section 64 of the wind supply duct 58 in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the member 18.
[0076] Figure 5D , Fig.8D and Fig.9D The member 50 is shown in its final, remote position. Figure 5D In FIG. 5 , the component 50 is located at the top of the wind supply duct 58 so that the wind of the wind supply can move to the component 18 below the component 50 to form the bubble 66. Fig.8D In FIG. 5 , the component 50 is located at the bottom of the wind supply duct 58 so that the wind of the wind supply can move over the component 50 to the component 18 to form the bubble 66. Fig.9D , member 50 moves away from member 18 to section 64 in a direction generally perpendicular to the plane of member 18, section 64 having a larger diameter than the diameter of member 50 so that wind from the wind supply can move around member 50 to opening 52 in member 18 to form bubbles.
[0077] Fig.11A and Fig. 11B 1 and 2 are front and rear perspective views, respectively, of member 18, showing the member in greater detail. Member 18 includes a circular passage 68 that at least partially surrounds opening 52. The passage is formed in an outer wall 70, an inner wall 72 spaced from outer wall 70, and a wall 74 connecting the inner and outer walls. Inner wall 72 defines opening 52.
[0078] A portion of the wall 72 includes a plurality of spaced apart protrusions or "spikes" 80. The bubble solution is supplied to the member 18 through a port 82, which is connected to the bubble solution supply tube 42. The port 82 is connected to the channel 68 so that the bubble solution flows from the port 82 to the channel near the top 54 of the member 18. Once the bubble solution enters the channel, gravity causes the bubble solution to fill the channel and flow between the protrusions 80 into the opening 52 of the member 18.
[0079] When the member 50 is in the position connected to the member 18, the surface 56 is in the opening 52. The surface tension of the flowing bubble solution forms a film in the opening and on the surface 56. Pulling the member 50 out to a position away from the member 18 allows the wind from the wind supply duct 58 to reach the member 18 from the rear and form bubbles 66 from the film.
[0080] The pressing of the trigger enables the bubble solution supply and the wind supply, causing a series of bubbles to form. Each time the trigger is pressed after the first time, the membrane is formed and the member 50 moves to a distance position, allowing the wind to form bubbles. Continuous pressing of the trigger will cause a series of bubbles to form and release. Because the motor and gear system continuously siphons the bubble solution from the bubble container to the top portion of the housing 18 and provides a constant supply of bubble solution, bubbles are continuously formed until the trigger is released.
[0081] like FIG. 10A to FIG. 10E As shown, it is possible to modify the bubble forming mechanism to form and release the above bubbles at once. FIG. 10A to FIG. 10E Each includes a front elevation view of a multi-opening membrane-forming member 90 and a cross-sectional view of a movable member, which in this case takes the form of a rotating platform 92 including a plurality of members 94 having protruding surfaces, similar to those of member 50 .
[0082] Fig. 10A The member 90 is shown in an initial position before the bubble solution is supplied to the member 90 . Fig. 10B The member is shown as the bubble solution is supplied from the bubble solution supply tube 42 to the top of the member 90 and a film is formed within the opening of the member 90 and on the member 94 (located in the opening). Fig. 10C Platform 92 is shown with member 94 moved to a position away from member 90 . Fig. 10D The platform 92 is shown rotating about a central axis 96 . Fig.10E It is shown that the wind from the wind supply duct 58 causes one or more bubbles to form and release.
[0083] In a preferred embodiment, once the bubble solution film is formed on the multi-opening member, the platform is rotated about 30 degrees, allowing the wind formed by the wind supply behind the member 90 to blow the air through the openings. Subsequently, the platform will be rotated back the same 30 degrees, the member 94 will be inserted into the opening of the member 90 again, and another series of bubble solution films will be formed. As this situation continues in a back and forth manner, a large number of bubbles can be formed.
[0084] As mentioned above, most conventional bubble making devices involve moving a rod to "wipe" or a moving plane or a moving plane containing a bubble ring to move against an object to form a bubble film. One of the main disadvantages of these designs is that the rod or plane must be very close to the bubble ring to form the bubble film. If there is a small gap (which may occur in actual production due to tolerances or assembly problems), the bubble film cannot be formed across the bubble ring. This problem usually causes the bubble making device to be considered defective because bubbles cannot be generated.
[0085] With the novel film-forming member and the movable member with the protruding surface of the present invention, the moving rod or moving object does not need to move against the bubble ring to form the bubble film. Instead, the protruding surface of the movable member is "punched" into the bubble liquid film in the opening, and thus the bubble solution film can be formed with a much higher success rate than the existing bubble film preparation device.
[0086] The protruding surface of the movable member also allows the member to be more easily disengaged from the membrane, thereby reducing the chance of damaging the forming membrane. As described above, there are several ways to move the movable member while keeping the membrane intact.
[0087] While only a limited number of preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, obviously many modifications and variations may be made thereto. The present invention is intended to encompass all such modifications and variations that fall within the scope of the present invention as defined by the following claims.
