Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a storage device carrier and a server, and in particular to a storage device carrier and a server with an offset handle. Background Art

[0002] With the popularization of digital life, people's demand for the Internet has increased dramatically. In order to provide better network services, the host server inevitably needs to be equipped with more data access devices (such as storage devices, etc.) to store more computer data.

[0003] Generally speaking, storage devices are paired with storage device racks so that they can be quickly installed in or removed from a server chassis with the help of the storage device racks. When installing or replacing these storage devices, assemblers will open the handles of the storage device racks and lift the storage devices upwards by turning the handles. However, the opened handles may obliquely block the top of adjacent storage devices, thereby becoming an obstacle for assemblers to install or replace adjacent storage devices. Therefore, how to improve the assembly efficiency of storage devices while effectively utilizing the limited space of server racks is one of the problems that R&D personnel want to solve. Summary of the invention

[0004] The present invention provides a storage device carrier and a server for improving the assembly efficiency of the storage device.

[0005] A storage device carrier disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention is used to mount a storage device on an assembly side panel. The storage device carrier includes a support frame and a handle. The support frame is detachably mounted on the assembly side panel and is used to carry the storage device. The handle includes a rotating member and a sliding member. The rotating member is pivotally mounted on the support frame and can rotate relative to the support frame. The sliding member is slidably mounted on the rotating member.

[0006] Another embodiment of the present invention discloses a server comprising a chassis, a storage device and a storage device carrier. The chassis comprises at least one assembly side panel. An assembly space is formed next to at least one assembly side panel. The storage device carrier comprises a support frame and a handle. The support frame is detachably mounted on at least one assembly side panel and carries the storage device. The rotating member is pivotally mounted on the support frame and can rotate relative to the support frame. The sliding member is slidably mounted on the rotating member.

[0007] According to the storage device carrier and server of the above embodiment, the handle is disassembled into two components, a rotating member and a sliding member, and the sliding member can slide relative to the rotating member, so that the entire handle is placed between the extension surfaces of the two surfaces of two adjacent storage devices facing each other, or between the extension surface of the first surface of the first assembly side panel and the extension surface of the second surface, so as to avoid the handle interfering with the withdrawal and placement of the storage device carried by the storage device carrier and the withdrawal and placement of adjacent storage devices. In addition, taking the example of a server that can be slidably arranged in a cabinet, compared with the previous design of the handle tilted backward, the handle of the above embodiment is changed to a vertical design to shorten the distance for all handles to be moved out of the cabinet. In other words, if the assembler wants to replace the storage device located in the deepest part of the cabinet, the length that the assembler pulls out the server can be effectively shortened.

[0008] The above description of the content of the present invention and the following description of the embodiments are used to demonstrate and explain the principles of the present invention, and to provide a further explanation of the scope of the patent application of the present invention. [0055] See also Figure 1 to Figure 2 . Figure 1 FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of a server according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 for Figure 1 A schematic plan view of the first assembled side panel.

[0056] like Figure 1 As shown, the server 1 of the present embodiment can be slidably disposed in a cabinet or separately disposed, and includes a chassis 10, a storage device 20 and a storage device carrier 30. The chassis 10 includes a bottom plate and a plurality of assembly side panels. These assembly side panels stand upright on the bottom plate, and an assembly space is formed between any two adjacent assembly side panels. For the convenience of description, only two adjacent assembly side panels are described below. The chassis 10 includes a bottom plate 11, a first assembly side panel 12 and a second assembly side panel 14. The first assembly side panel 12 and the second assembly side panel 14 stand upright on the bottom plate 11, and an assembly space 16 is formed between the first assembly side panel 12 and the second assembly side panel 14. The first assembly side panel 12 of the present embodiment, for example, has a first surface 12A and a second surface 12B opposite to each other. The first surface 12A faces the assembly space 16, and the second surface 12B faces away from the first surface 12A.

[0057] like Figure 2 As shown, the first assembly side plate 12 of the present embodiment may also have two snap-on slide grooves 12C, 12D and a plurality of positioning structures 12E. The two snap-on slide grooves 12C, 12D are, for example, gourd holes, and penetrate the first surface 12A and the second surface 12B. The two snap-on slide grooves 12C, 12D are arranged up and down, and the upper snap-on slide groove 12C is farther away from the bottom plate 11 than the lower snap-on slide groove 12D. The upper snap-on slide groove 12C has a snap-on section 12C1 and a release section 12C2. The width W2 of the release section 12C2 is greater than the width W1 of the snap-on section 12C1, and the release section 12C2 is located on one side of the snap-on section 12C1. The lower snap-on slide groove 12D has two snap-on sections 12D1 and a release section 12D2. The width W2 of the release section 12D2 is greater than the width W1 of the engagement section 12D1, and the two engagement sections 12D1 are connected to opposite sides of the release section 12D2. These positioning structures 12E are located on opposite sides of the lower buckle slot 12D in the extension direction. The positioning structure 12E is, for example, an elastic arm with a convex portion, so that the elastic force of the elastic arm forces the convex portion to provide a positioning effect, which will be described later.

[0058] See also Figure 3 to Figure 4 . Figure 3 for Figure 1 A three-dimensional schematic diagram of a storage device carrier. Figure 4 for Figure 3 Schematic diagram of the decomposition.

[0059] The storage device 20 is, for example, a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard disk, and is detachably located in the assembly space 16. The storage device 20 detachable from the assembly space 16 will be described in detail when the storage device carrier 30 is introduced.

[0060] The storage device carrier 30 is used to install the storage device 20 and to assist the storage device 20 to be installed in the assembly space 16 of the chassis 10 or to assist the storage device 20 to be pulled out from the assembly space 16 of the chassis 10. In detail, the storage device carrier 30 includes a carrier body 100 and a handle 200. The carrier body 100 includes a coupling frame 110 and a support frame 120. The support frame 120 is connected to one side of the coupling frame 110, and the support frame 120 is not parallel to the coupling frame 110, for example, it is substantially vertical. The so-called substantially vertical includes a vertical or nearly vertical condition. The non-parallel support frame 120 and the coupling frame 110 surround a bearing space S. The storage device 20 is detachably located in the bearing space S. In addition, the coupling frame 110 may also have an outer side surface 111 and two buckle blocks 112. The outer side surface 111 of the coupling frame 110 is opposite to the bearing space S and faces the first surface 12A of the first assembly side plate 12. The buckle block 112 protrudes from the outer side surface 111 of the coupling frame 110, and the buckle block 112 is, for example, a block structure matched with a gourd hole, and the width of the buckle block 112 matches the width W2 of the release sections 12C2 and 12D2, and is larger than the width W1 of the engagement sections 12C1 and 12D1. In this way, the two buckle blocks 112 can be respectively engaged with the engagement sections 12C1 and 12D1 of the two buckle slide grooves 12C and 12D, and detached from the release sections 12C2 and 12D2 of the two buckle slide grooves 12C and 12D.

[0061] The handle 200 of this embodiment includes a rotating member 210 and a sliding member 220. In addition, the handle 200 may further include a buckle assembly 230.

[0062] The rotating member 210 is pivotally mounted on the coupling frame 110 of the carrier body 100 and is located on a side of the coupling frame 110 away from the support frame 120. The rotating member 210 can rotate relative to the coupling frame 110 of the carrier body 100, so that the rotating member 210 can be located in a closed position (such as Figure 5 The rotating member 210 shown in FIG. 1 is in a position relative to the support frame 100 and an open position (eg, Figure 6100). When the rotating member 210 is in the closed position, the rotating member 210 partially blocks the opening of the carrying space S. When the rotating member 210 is in the open position, the rotating member 210 moves outside the opening of the carrying space S without hindering the extraction and placement of the storage device 20.

[0063] The handle 200 of this embodiment may further include an elastic member 240 , which is, for example, a torsion spring, and abuts against the support frame 100 and the rotating member 210 , respectively, so that the elastic force of the elastic member 240 drives the rotating member 210 to rotate to the open position.

[0064] The sliding member 220 can be slidably disposed on the rotating member 210 along the normal direction N of the outer side surface 111, so that the sliding member 220 can be in a retracted position (eg Figure 6 The position of the sliding member 220 relative to the rotating member 210 shown in FIG. Figure 7 The sliding member 220 shown in the figure slides along the normal direction N of the outer side surface 111. The sliding along the normal direction N of the outer side surface 111 includes sliding straight along the normal direction N and sliding along an inclined direction that maintains an acute angle with the normal direction N. As long as the rotating member 210 is in the open position, the sliding member 220 slides from the folded position to the disassembly position, and moves a distance D (such as Figure 7 When the sliding member 220 is in the retracted position, the sliding member 220 is not parallel to the first assembly side plate 12 and may block the extraction and placement space of the adjacent storage device 20. When the sliding member 220 is in the disassembly position, the sliding member 220 is offset to the top of the first assembly side plate 12 and is located on the extension surface E1 (as shown in FIG. Figure 7 ) and the extended surface E2 of the second surface 12B (as shown Figure 7 That is to say, when the sliding member 220 is located at the disassembly position, the first assembly side plate 12 and the sliding member 220 are arranged along a vertical line. In this way, the sliding member 220 can be prevented from blocking the extraction and placement space of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0065] In the above embodiment, the gap between two adjacent storage devices 20 is slightly equal to the distance between the first surface 12A and the second surface 12B of the first assembly side plate 12, but the invention is not limited thereto. If the gap between two adjacent storage devices is slightly larger than the thickness T of the sliding member, the sliding member may also be located between the extended surfaces of the two surfaces 22 of the two adjacent storage devices 20 facing each other, as long as the sliding member does not block the extraction and placement of the storage device 20 carried by the storage device carrier 30 and the extraction and placement of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0066] In addition, in this embodiment, when the sliding member 220 is located at the disassembly position, the sliding member 220 is parallel to the first assembly side plate 12, but the present invention is not limited thereto. If the gap between the storage devices is slightly larger than the thickness of the sliding member, the sliding member may not be parallel to the first assembly side plate, as long as the sliding member does not block the extraction and placement of the storage device 20 carried by the storage device carrier 30 and the extraction and placement of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0067] In this embodiment, the rotating member 210 has a first guide structure 211, and the sliding member 220 has a second guide structure 221. The sliding member 220 can be offset relative to the rotating member 210 through the second guide structure 221 and the first guide structure 211. In detail, the first guide structure 211 is, for example, an arc-shaped slide groove, and the slope of the side of the first guide structure 211 close to the bottom plate 11 is smaller than the slope of the side of the first guide structure 211 away from the bottom plate 11. In other words, the side of the first guide structure 211 away from the bottom plate 11 is closer to vertical than the side of the first guide structure 211 close to the bottom plate 11. The second guide structure 221, for example, includes two columnar portions 2211. The two columnar portions 2211 are slidably located side by side in the arc-shaped slide groove. When the rotating member 210 is in the open position and the sliding member 220 is located on the side of the first guide structure 211 close to the bottom plate 11, the sliding member 220 is in a retracted position and may block the extraction and extraction space of the adjacent storage device 20. When the rotating member 210 is in the open position and the sliding member 220 is located on the side of the first guide structure 211 away from the bottom plate 11, the sliding member 220 can be prevented from blocking the extraction and extraction space of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0068] In this embodiment, each columnar portion 2211 is, for example, cylindrical, and the two columnar portions 2211 form a positioning groove 2212. The rotating member 210 has a positioning protrusion 212. When the rotating member 210 is located at the open position, the positioning protrusion 212 is located at a side of the first guide structure 211 away from the bottom plate 11, and when the positioning protrusion 212 of the rotating member 210 is located at the positioning groove 2212 of the sliding member 220, the sliding member 220 is positioned at the disassembly position.

[0069] In this embodiment, the positioning groove 2212 is formed by directly surrounding the contours of the two columnar portions 2211, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the positioning groove may also be formed on other independent components other than the two columnar portions.

[0070] In the above embodiment, the first guiding structure 211 is an arc-shaped guiding groove, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the first guiding structure 211 can also be changed into a linear guiding groove with multiple sections.

[0071] In the above embodiment, the second guiding structure 221 includes two columnar portions 2211 , but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the second guiding structure 221 may also be changed to a non-circular block portion or more than three columnar portions 2211 .

[0072] In the above embodiment, the first guiding structure 211 is an arc-shaped guiding groove and the second guiding structure 221 is two columnar portions 2211, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the first guiding structure may be two columnar portions and the second guiding structure may be an arc-shaped guiding groove.

[0073] In this embodiment, the sliding member 220 may further include a buckle protrusion 222. The buckle protrusion 222 is used to buckle in a buckle groove 12F (such as Figure 2 The rotating member 210 has a pushing protrusion 213 , and the pushing protrusion 213 is used to press the side of the first assembly side plate 12 away from the bottom plate 11 to drive the supporting frame 100 to be relatively away from the bottom plate 11 .

[0074] The buckle assembly 230 is installed on a side of the sliding member 220 away from the rotating member 210, and when the rotating member 210 is in the closed position and the sliding member 220 is in the folded position, the buckle assembly 230 is buckled on the second assembly side plate 14 to fix the rotating member 210 of the handle 200 in the closed position.

[0075] See also Figures 5 to 11 . Figures 5 to 11 for Figure 3 Schematic diagram of the operation of the storage device carrier.

[0076] First, if Figure 5 As shown, the storage device 20 is installed in the assembly space 16 of the chassis 10 through the storage device carrier 30, and the rotating member 210 is located in the closed position, and the sliding member 220 is located in the folded position, so that the buckle protrusion 222 is buckled in a buckle groove 12F of the first assembly side plate 12, and the buckle assembly 230 is buckled in the second assembly side plate 14. At this time, the electrical connector of the storage device 20 is connected to the electrical connector of the motherboard (not shown) and is in a working state.

[0077] Then, if Figure 6 As shown, the assembler opens the handle 200 along direction A so that the rotating member 210 is rotated to the open position and the sliding member 220 is temporarily located in the folded position. When the rotating member 210 is rotated to the open position, the entire rotating member 210 will not block the extraction and extraction space of the storage device 20 carried by the storage device carrier 30 and the extraction and extraction space of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0078] Then, if Figure 7As shown, the assembler pulls the handle 200 upward along the direction B, so that when the rotating member 210 is in the open position, the sliding member 220 is guided by the guide structures 211 and 221 to deviate from the folded position to the disassembly position, and the buckle protrusion 222 of the sliding member 220 moves a distance in the normal direction N of the outer side surface during the process of sliding from the folded position to the disassembly position. When the sliding member 220 is in the disassembly position, the sliding member 220 is fixed in the disassembly position by the positioning structures such as the positioning protrusion 212 and the positioning groove 2212. At this time, in addition to the entire rotating member 210 not blocking the extraction and placement space of the storage device 20 carried by the storage device carrier 30 and the extraction and placement space of the adjacent storage device 20, the entire sliding member 220 also does not block the extraction and placement space of the storage device 20 carried by the storage device carrier 30 and the extraction and placement space of the adjacent storage device 20.

[0079] Then, if Figure 8 and Fig. 9 As shown, the assembler pulls the handle 200 upwards along direction C to lift the storage device 20 upwards through the carrier body 100 to separate the electrical connector of the storage device 20 from the electrical connector of the motherboard.

[0080] Then, if Fig.10 and Fig.11 As shown, the assembler pulls the handle 200 upwards along the direction C, so as to continue to lift the storage device 20 upwards through the carrier body 100, and temporarily positions the storage device carrier 30 at a predetermined height of the chassis 10 through the positioning structure 12E above the buckle slot 12D, so as to facilitate the assembler to extract and place the storage device 20. On the contrary, during the process of installing the storage device 20 in the assembly space 16 of the chassis 10, the positioning structure 12E below the buckle slot 12D can buffer the speed of the storage device 20 and the storage device carrier 30, thereby preventing the electrical connector of the storage device 20 and the electrical connector of the motherboard from being damaged due to excessive impact force.

[0081] According to the storage device carrier and server of the above embodiment, the handle is disassembled into two components, a rotating member and a sliding member, and the sliding member can be offset relative to the rotating member along the normal direction of the outer side surface of the carrier body, so that the entire handle is placed between the extension surfaces of the two surfaces facing each other of two adjacent storage devices, or between the extension surface of the first surface of the first assembly side panel and the extension surface of the second surface, so as to avoid the handle interfering with the withdrawal and placement of the storage device carried by the storage device carrier and the withdrawal and placement of adjacent storage devices.

[0082] In addition, the storage device carrier is temporarily positioned at a predetermined height of the chassis through the positioning structure on the assembly side plate, so as to facilitate the assembly personnel to extract and place the storage device.

[0083] Although the present invention has been disclosed in conjunction with the above embodiments, they are not intended to limit the present invention. Anyone familiar with the art may make slight changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of patent protection of the present invention shall be based on the definition of the claims attached to this specification.
