Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to a housing of an electric appliance for converting electric power and an electric appliance having a corresponding housing.

[0002] An electrical appliance in the sense of the present disclosure processes electrical power, in particular by converting the current from one form to another, for example from direct current to alternating current or vice versa, or by changing important properties of the electrical power, such as voltage or frequency, in a targeted manner. In particular, this can involve power electronics, i.e. power converters, in which power switches are arranged in a converter topology and interact with capacitors and inductors.

[0003] When such an electrical appliance is operated, the voltage and current applied to the attachment end of the power converter are specifically influenced by the appropriate clocking of the power switch. Here, significant electrical power can flow through the electrical appliance and can be exchanged between the devices attached thereto. For example, an energy source, in particular a current supply network, a generator or a battery can be connected to an energy sink, in particular a load, a battery or again to a (further) current supply network via a power converter in a housing according to the invention.

[0004] In the field of renewable energy, inverters for network feeding, such as photovoltaic inverters, are usually designed for a power of about one kilowatt. This also applies to battery converters, which are connected to electrical storage devices and, for example, supply power to an island grid. Typically, powers greater than ten kilowatts are also converted in electrical appliances with a housing. For larger energy generation facilities, the rated power of each power electronic device can be in the megawatt class, wherein voltages in the kilovolt range and currents in the kiloampere range occur. In principle, the rated power is not limited upwards, and the rated power is essentially dependent on technological advances in available power switches, suitable topologies, achievable power densities, materials, and the like. In principle, as the rated power of the electrical appliance increases, the volume of the corresponding housing also increases, so that different mechanical schemes can be used in the case of very large powers, especially switch cabinets instead of housings.

[0005] Depending on the field of application, the housing of electrical appliances of this type must meet different regulatory requirements. In particular, the housing can shield the interior of the appliance from the environment and, for example, seal it in a dust-tight and waterproof manner, so that the housing has an IP protection type according to DIN EN 60529 and / or a NEMA protection type corresponding to one of the NEMA protection types according to NEMA standard 250-2003. In addition, the housing needs to be able to pass other mechanical tests according to DIN standards and / or UL standards, for example in terms of compression, impact tests, external influences (e.g. bird strikes) and / or special water jets.

[0006] The processing of high electrical powers results in that extremely high concentrations of energy can be accumulated in a very short time. This can be desirable, for example, in order to dynamically buffer electrical energy within the framework of a conversion from one current form to another. However, undesirable concentrations of energy can also occur, especially in the event of a fault, after erroneous operation or unpredictable aging processes. In this case, electrical energy can be converted to thermal and / or mechanical energy to a considerable extent, for example in such a way that components heat up strongly and burst, or in such a way that flammable materials accumulate in the housing, for example due to (electro)chemical conversion processes, and are ignited by electrical flashovers that are harmless per se.

[0007] As a result, significant overpressures can build up in the inherently closed housing of the electrical appliance. In addition, in the case of power electronic converters, for example, with one of the common protection classes IP44 or IP65, overpressures can build up very quickly, for example within a few milliseconds, under unfavorable circumstances. However, this must not lead to the housing being destroyed in an unpredictable manner, for example by breaking off in an uncontrolled manner and possibly parts being thrown out of the interior.

[0008] If the housing is not designed with a significant expenditure of material in such a way that it withstands any expected overpressure, the overpressure in the interior of the housing can be reduced by providing a relief opening. At the same time, however, in order to comply with the relevant standards, it is necessary to design the housing in such a way that it adequately protects the interior in normal operation, provides mechanical stability against external influences and is sealed, possibly waterproof or even airtight and dustproof.

[0009] These two goals - on the one hand, adequate protection of the interior and thus the power electronics arranged therein from the environment in normal operation and on the other hand, provision of a sufficiently large relief opening in a controlled manner in the event of an overvoltage - are initially mutually contradictory in terms of function and significantly limit the available solution space. It is also of great importance that the electrical appliance can be assembled as simply as possible and that the interior is accessible, for example for maintenance and repair work. Background Art

[0010] Various solutions are known from the prior art which are intended to ensure a more or less controlled and as safe as possible relief of an overpressure which could occur suddenly in an inherently closed housing.

[0011] In this way, a deformable fastening element can be mounted on the housing, and when an overpressure suddenly occurs in the housing, the fastening element can be deformed and a gap is released between the cover and the housing, through which the overpressure can be reduced. Notches can also be provided at the fastening points of the cover and the housing, which can achieve deformation of the housing in the case of an overpressure in the interior space. In addition, a pressure relief mechanism is known, in which a pressure relief opening in the housing is closed by an external cover, which is pulled inward by a spring so that the cover is pressed outward by the overpressure and the opening is released. Another possibility for pressure relief is a pressure relief valve, which can jump up in the case of an overpressure. However, it may happen here that a part of the interior space enters the environment in an unhindered manner.

[0012] DE 10 2019 122 812 A1 discloses a housing for an electrical appliance in which a cover is connected to a housing base via a releasable fastening device. The fastening device is arranged at the geometric center of the cover and is preferably formed by a central nut which can be screwed onto a threaded rod connected to the housing base and extending outwards and thereby fixes the cover to the housing base.

[0013] In the event of a sudden overpressure in the interior of the housing, none of the known solutions provides a sufficiently large opening for reducing the pressure quickly enough and at the same time meets the requirements mentioned at the outset with regard to the mechanical properties of the housing, which should be suitable in particular for electrical appliances for converting significant electrical power and allow simplified assembly of the appliance and accessibility to the interior. Summary of the invention

[0014] The invention is therefore based on the task of providing a housing for an electrical appliance, which has a closure system that simplifies opening and closing of the housing, which withstands the usual environmental conditions, conditions of use and fault conditions of such an appliance, thereby increasing safety, and still allows simple assembly and accessibility to the interior space.

[0015] Solution

[0016] This object is achieved by a device having the features of independent claim 1. Preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.

[0017] Description of the Invention

[0018] The housing of an electric appliance for converting electric power has a base and a cover, and the base has a rear wall and side walls. The cover closes the base so that a closed internal space is generated. The electrical components and electronic components of the electric appliance are arranged in the internal space of the housing. The cover is connected to the base via a cover closure that can be loosened. The cover closure is characterized in that the cover closure includes a fastening device and a closure housing, wherein the fastening device is held in the closure housing in a rotatable and axially immovable manner. In addition, the closure housing is fastened to the cover at the geometric center of the cover. The base includes a journal, which extends from the rear wall of the housing to the geometric center of the cover. Here, a connection that can be loosened by the rotation of the fastening device is established between the cover and the journal by means of at least one guide pin of the journal and at least one guide groove that is spirally surrounded at least in sections of the fastening device.

[0019] Therefore, the task on which the present invention is based is solved in the following manner: the electrical appliance has a closed housing as a protective device, wherein the cover of the housing, which is fastened in a releasable manner, is configured as an environmental protection member with an integrated overpressure protection device. By the anti-lost central quick closure of the cover, the opening and closing of the cover is simplified and the accessibility of the interior space is improved. In the case of a sudden overpressure, the entire area of the cover fastening part around the center is used as an action surface for pressure peaks and pulses. The cover is only prevented from deformation by its rigidity. The cover can be implemented to be used to be slightly lifted from the housing only on the edge in order to allow the pressure peak to escape. As a result, the cover is used as an overpressure protection device and sufficient decompression can be achieved. At the same time, the cover is fixed by a central fastening element, and the cover also blocks possible parts that are detached in the interior of the electrical appliance or deflects these parts at least laterally. In this regard, the cover protects the environment of the electrical appliance from pressure waves and minimizes the harm to people.

[0020] The cover is fastened to the journal of the base body, in particular only by means of a centrally arranged cover closure, and is not connected to the base body by means of further fastening means. It should be understood that a weak connection between the cover and the housing, such as adhesion of the seal to the edge, where the cover rests on the side wall, a slight skew or a guide hook, should not be understood as a fastening means. In addition, the centrally arranged journal fastened to the rear side of the base body provides optimal accessibility to the interior of the housing when the cover is opened. Since the rotatable fastening means of the cover closure are held in the closure housing, it is ensured during the overall assembly or disassembly of the housing that there are no loose parts on the closure, but that the centering, positioning and connection of the cover to the housing can be achieved in one working step. Thus, a quick-release closure is provided, which is mounted in the cover in a way that it cannot be lost and in which compression of the seal, retention of the cover in the event of an internal fault and simple positioning of the cover can be achieved.

[0021] When the cover is placed on the housing, the central journal is introduced into the fastening device, wherein the fastening device is held in the closure housing in a rotatable and axially immovable manner. Preferably, the journal has a cylindrical shape, and the fastening device has a corresponding hollow cylindrical shape for receiving the journal. When the fastening device is in a central position for receiving the journal, the cover is also automatically brought to the correct position for assembly with the housing at the same time. When the journal is introduced into the fastening device, the outwardly directed guide pin of the journal is positioned in the guide groove of the fastening device. The guide groove is implemented at least in sections in a spiral shape, so that the fastening device is pulled onto the journal and therefore also the entire cover in the direction of the housing in the case of a corresponding rotational movement. Here, the size of the journal and the size of the fastening device are coordinated with each other so that the cover is firmly located on the housing in the set end position and closes the housing, wherein the connection can also resist the pressure that occurs in the inner space in the event of a fault. Furthermore, the central arrangement of the cover closure allows free access to the corners and edge areas of the housing, which can in particular include the attachment area of the electrical appliance. With the cover opened, the attachment area can then be largely freely accessed, so that no additional assembly effort is incurred when the appliance is put into operation.

[0022] In a preferred embodiment, the releasable connection can be established by a half-turn or a quarter-turn. Such a closure can be released particularly easily by merely turning it by 90 or 180 degrees with the aid of a suitable tool. In particular, in a simple and defined manner, the cover closure can be brought by turning it from a locked closed position into a free open position, in which the cover closure can be released from the closure journal and the cover can be removed from the housing.

[0023] It is particularly preferred that the closing journal has a cross pin as a guide pin on its upper end facing the cover. Accordingly, the fastening means then comprises a spiral groove that spirally surrounds, which is composed of two guide grooves for receiving the two ends of the cross pin. The symmetry better defines the installation orientation and prevents tilting when the cross pin extends in a spiral spiral. In another advantageous embodiment, the guide groove comprises a latching portion in the end position. Thus, when the guide groove is held in the latching portion, the locked closed position is defined. The guide pin is prevented from accidentally sliding back in the guide groove and thus preventing the cover closure from loosening.

[0024] In an advantageous embodiment, a flange is provided on the closure housing, which flange forms a stop surface for the cover. The flange defines the mounting condition of the closure housing on the cover. Preferably, the closure housing is arranged so that it protrudes through the central opening of the cover and rests on the outside of the cover by means of the flange, while the fastener acts from the inside against the cover, for example by means of a locking nut. Particularly preferably, a first sealing ring is arranged in the flange for sealing between the cover and the closure housing. It is further preferred that a second sealing acts between the fastening means and the closure housing, for example by means of a sealing ring surrounding the fastening means. The entire cover construction with the centrally mounted fastening means and the seal is selected in this way so that the electrical appliance can operate permanently and safely under all weather conditions and under all electrical parameters.

[0025] In an advantageous embodiment, in order to ensure the anti-loss retention of the fastening device in the closure housing, the fastening device comprises a surrounding locking groove, and the closure housing comprises a locking pin for engaging in the locking groove, whereby the fastening device is held in the closure housing in a manner that it can rotate and cannot move axially. Further preferably, the locking groove is only partially surrounding and thereby forms a restriction of the rotational movement of the fastening device in the closure housing. Alternatively, the locking groove can accommodate a retaining ring, which in the provided assembly position prevents the axial mobility of the fastening device and ensures the anti-loss property. The restriction of the rotational movement of the fastening device can also be achieved by an additional notch of the fastening device, which engages in a corresponding protrusion in the closure housing.

[0026] In order to achieve a better definition of the installation position of the cover and to facilitate the entry of the cross pin of the journal into the spiral groove of the fastening means, the closure housing can include an axial guide groove on the end region facing the journal, through which the guide pin of the journal can be guided to the spirally surrounding guide groove of the fastening means. In addition, a cone can be arranged around the end region of the journal, which cone additionally facilitates centering during assembly of the cover.

[0027] Particularly preferably, the cover closure comprises markings for displaying the installation orientation and / or for displaying the position of the open position and the closed position. This is preferably realized by visually recognizable indicators, which can be formed by different colors or different marks, for example.

[0028] In one embodiment of the housing, the cover has a sealing surface extending essentially in a plane. The cover then rests with the sealing surface on the edge of the side wall of the base body. It is understood that the side wall can be formed by a single component; in this respect, housings with a circular rear wall and correspondingly continuous side walls are also included. A circumferential seal can be arranged between the edge of the side wall of the base body and the cover. Pressure is applied to the seal via the cover by means of the cover closure, so that the housing can be sealed. As a result, a protection type of at least IP54, at least IP65 and / or Nema Type 4X can be ensured for the interior of the housing.

[0029] The entire cover structure with the centrally mounted fastening means and the seal is selected in such a way that the electrical appliance can be operated permanently and safely under all weather conditions and under all electrical parameters. For this purpose, in particular, the cover stiffness is determined in such a way that the cover has sufficient stiffness on the one hand to transfer the pressing force from the central cover closure via the cover surface to the edge and thus to the seal, so that the seal is subjected to the necessary compression force. At the same time, the cover has such an optimized stiffness that the cover can be deformed circumferentially relative to the centrally mounted screw when a certain internal pressure is reached. As a result, an optimized opening area for pressure relief can be generated, and the pressure is slowly released. In addition, the load on the cover closure is reduced as a whole in the event of an explosion, so that the cover is not torn off on the cover closure.

[0030] The housing according to the invention can particularly advantageously accommodate power electronics in the interior space. This includes in particular switches, capacitors and / or inductors suitable for converting electrical power in the housing. In particular, the housing can accommodate power converters, in particular rectifiers, inverters and / or DC / DC converters. In particular in the field of power converters with rated powers in the range of tens to hundreds of kilowatts, technological progress has brought about an increase in power density, which at the same time exacerbates the problem of undesirable energy accumulation mentioned at the beginning and therefore requires a housing adapted to the correspondingly increased risk.

[0031] In the event of an overpressure in the interior of the housing, in particular in the event of a sudden overpressure, as can occur in electrical appliances with high power, the cover can be lifted from the edge of the side wall on all sides and plastically deformed. This allows pressure relief on all sides. In addition, the plastic deformation leads to a relief of the cover closure, since the area over which the overpressure acts is reduced by the deformation of the cover. By means of a rapid pressure relief, the tensile forces acting on the cover closure are quickly reduced. A reduction in the overpressure can also be ensured by means of an elastic deformation of the cover, so that in the event of an overpressure the cover lifts up on the side wall and releases the pressure relief opening and closes the pressure relief opening again after the pressure relief. [0038] Figure 6 The position of the cover closure is shown schematically. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0039] Figure 1 The cover closure according to the invention is shown. The housing (not shown) comprises a base body. The base body can be designed in one piece, for example as a die-cast part, or can be composed of multiple parts, for example of a rear wall and side walls. In principle, the base body can have a substantially rectangular plan view shape, so that the base body comprises four substantially flat side walls, or a round or oval plan view shape, so that the base body has substantially surrounding side walls.

[0040] The housing comprises a cover. The base body and the cover form a closed interior of the housing by placing the cover in a form-fitting manner on the edge of the side wall of the base body. Possible openings in the side walls and / or rear wall of the base body, for example, openings for cable feedthroughs, can themselves be embodied with suitable seals.

[0041] The cover is detachably connected to the base body via a central cover closure. Figure 1 The cover closure comprises a closure housing 11, which is fixed to the cover (not shown) by means of a flange 12 configured as a stop surface and a lock nut 13, which also serves as a grounding nut. The closure housing 11 has a substantially rotationally symmetrical or cylindrical basic shape. An external thread 14 can be provided on the circumference, onto which the lock nut 13 can be screwed. In order to fasten the closure housing 11 to the cover, the closure housing 11 is guided through an opening of the cover having corresponding dimensions until the flange 12 rests on the outer side of the cover. Next, the closure housing 11 is fixed to the lock nut 12 on the inner side of the cover. Here, preferably, the opening of the cover is located at the geometric center of the cover. Preferably, the closure housing 11 is embodied as a hollow cylinder, so that the closure housing can receive a fastening device 15 (see Figure 2 ). The fastening device 15 is preferably also implemented as a hollow cylinder in a manner matching the cavity of the closure housing 11, so that the fastening device 15 can be introduced into the closure housing 11, preferably from the outside of the cover. Here, the fastening device 15 is held in the closure housing 11 in a manner that can be rotated in the axial direction but prevented from being lost (i.e., it cannot be moved in the axial direction). In order to establish a closed connection between the cover and the base of the housing, a preferably rod-shaped closing journal 16 is provided, which extends from the rear wall of the housing to the opening of the cover. At the end of the journal 16 pointing to the cover, the journal has a cross pin 17, which extends radially outward on two opposite sides of the journal 16. Usually, the cross pin 17 is composed of an inserted pin, which is oriented centrally in the journal 16 via a hole with a matching portion. The journal 16 with the cross pin 17 is firmly attached to the housing rear wall as part of the housing rear wall, wherein the housing rear wall can also include additional structural reinforcements in this area in order to better resist the acting tensile forces. The journal 16 with the cross pin 17 has such dimensions that it can be introduced into the fastening device 15 and can be received in the fastening device.

[0042] exist Figure 2 In the exploded schematic diagram, the closure part on the cover side is shown. Figure 1The closure housing 11 with the lock nut 3 and the fastening device 15 are shown. The closure housing 11 has a flange 12, which, as described above, serves as a stop surface for the outside of the cover. A seal 18 is arranged in the flange 12, which seals the closure housing 11 against the cover in the assembled state and thus protects the inner space from environmental influences, such as moisture and dust. The seal 18 can be implemented in a known manner, for example, as a rubber sealing ring or as a foam band. The fastening device 15 includes a receiving portion 19 for the closed journal 16, wherein the inner diameter of the receiving portion 19 is adapted to the outer diameter of the closed journal 16. In addition, the fastening device 15 includes a spiral groove, which is composed of two spirally encircling guide grooves 20. These guide grooves 20 are set up as a cross pin 17 for receiving the journal 16. In the embodiment shown, the guide groove 20 penetrates the side surface of the fastening device 15. However, it is also conceivable that the side surface of the fastening device 15 is closed and the guide groove 20 is only built-in. However, in terms of manufacturing technology, a completely penetrating guide groove 20 can be significantly easier to implement. In the starting area of the receiving portion 19, the guide groove 20 cannot be oriented spirally, but axially. This facilitates the introduction of the cross pin 17 and the correct positioning of the entire cover. The closure housing 11 can also have a corresponding guide section 21 on its end facing the journal 16. The sealing of the fastening device 15 against the closure housing 11 can be achieved by an additional seal 22, which is arranged in the surrounding sealing groove 23 of the fastening device 15 in the assembled state. By integrating the seals 18, 22 into the cover closure firmly mounted on the cover, it is ensured that: when the cover is disassembled and reassembled on the housing base, the sealing is not lost, so that a new seal does not need to be used every time. In order to lock the fastening element 15 in the axial direction, the locking pin 24 is pressed into the closure housing 11, which engages in the semi-circumferential locking groove 25 of the fastening element 15. The fastening element 15 is thus locked against coming out and at the same time a rotation restriction, in this case a half-turn, is established. However, coming out can also be ensured in other ways. For example, the locking groove 25 of the fastening element 15 can be completely circumferential and accommodate a retaining ring 26, which jumps into a corresponding locking groove of the closure housing 11 in the correct position. Figure 3 The axial locking and the position of the seals 18 , 22 can be seen in the sectional view of , which shows the closure housing 11 with the received fastening means 15 .

[0043] exist Figure 42 shows the assembly of the closure housing 11 on the cover 27. The closure housing 11 is assembled in the central opening of the cover 27 by means of the stop surface of the flange 12 and the lock nut 13, which also serves as a grounding nut. Preferably, the cover opening is not circular but square, for example with rounded corners. Preferably, the outer surface of the closure housing 11 has a flattened section 28 adapted to the opening, so that the closure housing 11 can be fixed in a rotationally fixed manner. As a result, the cover closure can be aligned exactly with the cross pin 17 of the journal 16.

[0044] Figure 5 A preferred embodiment is shown in which different markings are provided on the closure housing 11. In order to correctly position the cover closure on the central journal, two opposing markings 29 are provided. These markings are formed, for example, by colored markings or structural markings (ridges, recesses, etc.). These markings 29 should ensure correct installation. For a central cover closure, the journal 16 should be installed in such a way that the cross pin 17 is in a horizontal position. The closure housing 11 then needs to be installed in such a way that the lateral markings 29 are also placed horizontally. This simplifies the positioning and installation of the cover, especially in the case of multi-symmetrical or circular housing shapes. In addition, Figure 5 In the embodiment shown, the triangular marking 30 shows the installation direction at the top or bottom, depending on which viewing angle is preferred for the positions "open" and "closed". Further markings can show the direction of rotation, for example, in the embodiment shown, arrows and letters show the direction of rotation for the open position (O) and the closed position (C stands for "closed"). Colored markings 31 on the closure housing additionally enable a visual position display in which, for example, the visible part of the colored marking shows green ( Figure 5 , below), after turning the central fastening element 15 half a turn, the red ( Figure 5 , above).

[0045] according to Figure 6The working principle of the cover closure is explained, wherein the mutual cooperation of the fastening device 15 and the closing journal 16 when the cover is closed is shown. Here, the state of putting the cover on is shown on the left, the state of the closing device half-closed is shown in the middle, and the state of the closing device closed is shown on the right. The fastening device 15 is constructed in such a way that the rotational movement is converted into a translational movement. For this purpose, a double-sided spiral groove 20 is introduced into the fastening device 15. The spiral groove constitutes a motion track, in which the cross pin 17 engages. If the operating part 32 is now turned, the cover connected to the closure moves downward. The stroke in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the cover must be sufficient to compress the seal and compensate for the deformation of the cover. Since this force can be significant in the case of a medium-sized cover by introducing it in the center, the stroke is preferably determined as a 180° rotation. In order to achieve the same vertical movement of the cover, for example, half of the rotation stroke is required in the case of a quarter turn, but double the force is required. If, for example, a larger compression stroke is required due to a larger seal, the stroke can also be increased. This then corresponds to a "pulled apart" spiral. However, it should be noted here that the operating force increases again because the starting angle becomes steeper. It is also possible to achieve a specific rotation angle between 90° and 180°, and the compression stroke can be specifically adapted within certain limits. The system can also be scaled in terms of size. Here, not only a right-closed variant can be achieved, but also a left-closed variant can be achieved. In a central closed solution, the required closing force depends strongly on the size of the cover and the necessary compression force of the seal. Therefore, in the case of a small cover, a quarter turn can be sufficient. For a larger cover, a half turn provides a longer entry stroke and therefore a smaller closing force. At the end of the track, a latching portion 33 is provided on both sides, in the form of a track groove. Here, the cross pin 17 has its end position and is also safely held there by the pulling force implemented by the cover and the seal. In the event of an explosion, the cover closure must safely hold the cover on the base of the housing.
