Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle body front structure for controlling deformation of the vehicle body front portion when a collision occurs. Background Art

[0002] As is known to all, in recent years, a bracket structure as a crisscross structure has been adopted in the body structure of automobiles, etc. In addition to improving assembly workability on the production line, this bracket structure also serves as a collision energy absorbing component when it is set at the front of the body.

[0003] For example, a vehicle front end structure having an engine bracket is disclosed in Patent Document 1. In the conventional vehicle front end structure, a force receiving structure configured to rotate on its force receiving surface in response to a collision event is mounted on the engine bracket.

[0006] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-504969 Summary of the invention

[0007] Problems to be solved by the invention

[0008] However, the conventional front structure of a vehicle is configured as a bracket structure bypassing a reciprocating engine or the like as an internal combustion engine power unit. Therefore, the conventional front structure of a vehicle has limited and insufficient function as an energy absorbing member during a frontal collision.

[0009] On the other hand, the power unit of electric vehicles, such as electric motors, is smaller than that of reciprocating engines. Therefore, a space is created in the front part of the vehicle body, and a bracket structure is required to mitigate the impact during a full overlap frontal collision and ensure a sufficient collision stroke.

[0010] However, in a small overlap frontal collision, a large collision load acts locally on one side of the front of the vehicle body, so it is sometimes difficult to fully absorb the collision load.

[0011] Thus, in the case of a small overlap frontal collision, it is difficult to fully suppress the deformation of the power unit chamber. As a result, it is even more difficult for the front body structure used in the electric vehicle to fully suppress the deformation of the power unit chamber.

[0012] Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle body front structure capable of suppressing deformation of a power unit chamber in either a full overlap frontal collision or a small overlap frontal collision.

[0013] Technical solutions for solving technical problems

[0014] The vehicle body front structure of one aspect of the present invention includes: a bracket that supports a power unit arranged below a power unit chamber, the power unit chamber being arranged at the front of the vehicle body; a pair of front side frames that are on the sides of the power unit chamber and extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body; a radiator support member that is arranged in front of the power unit chamber, the front end portions of the pair of front side frames being joined to the radiator side frames; a control board that is joined to the outer side surfaces of the front end portions of the pair of front side frames and the radiator side frames; and a beam member that is arranged in a vehicle body front space formed between the power unit chamber and the radiator support member, the beam member having an arc portion whose central portion is fixed to the bracket and a winding portion that is joined to the control board and formed at both ends of the arc portion.

[0028] In the following, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, an embodiment of a vehicle body front structure of one embodiment of the present invention is described in detail. It should be noted that in the drawings used in the following description, the size of each component is set to a degree that can be recognized on the drawings, so the scale of each component is different, and the present invention is not limited to the number of components recorded in these drawings, the shape of the components, the size ratio of the components, and the relative position relationship of the components.

[0029] like Figure 1 As shown, the vehicle 1 has a cab 3 and a motor room 4 on a vehicle body 2. In addition, the vehicle 1 here exemplifies an electric vehicle. In addition, the motor room 4 constitutes a power unit room provided at the front part of the vehicle body 2.

[0030] The cab 3 is provided at a substantially central portion in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2. In the cab 3, a vehicle body frame is formed by a floor 5, a footrest 6, a pair of left and right front pillars 7, and a pair of left and right side members 8.

[0031] The floor 5 is formed of, for example, a substantially flat sheet metal member. The floor 5 forms a floor surface of the cab 3. A battery chamber 10 is disposed below the floor 5. A plurality of batteries 11 are accommodated in the battery chamber 10.

[0032] The footrest 6 is formed of, for example, a sheet metal member that stands upward from the front end of the floor 5. The footrest 6 constitutes a partition wall for partitioning the operator's room 3 and the motor room 4.

[0033] The pair of side beams 8 is, for example, a hollow member having a closed cross-sectional shape. Each side beam 8 is formed, for example, by joining a plurality of panels. Each side beam 8 extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2 at the left and right side portions of the floor 5. Each side beam 8 is joined to the left and right side portions of the floor 5.

[0034] The pair of front pillars 7 are, for example, hollow members having a closed cross-sectional shape. Each front pillar 7 is formed, for example, by joining a plurality of panels. The lower end of each front pillar 7 is joined to the front end of each side beam 8. Each front pillar 7 is joined to the left and right side portions of the footrest 6.

[0035] The motor room 4 is provided in front of the cab 3. The motor room 4 is formed by a vehicle body frame surrounded by a pair of left and right upper side frames 21, a pair of left and right front side frames 22, and a bracket 50.

[0036] The pair of upper frames 21 are made of sheet metal, for example. The front end of each upper frame 21 is joined to the radiator support 30. The rear end of each upper frame 21 is joined to each front pillar 7. Thus, each upper frame 21 extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2 above the left and right sides of the motor room 4.

[0037] The pair of front side frames 22 are, for example, hollow members having a rectangular closed cross section. Each front side frame 22 is formed, for example, by joining a plurality of panels. Each front side frame 22 has a rear region 24, an inclined region 25, and a front region 26 in sequence along the length direction from the rear side toward the front side.

[0038] The rear region 24 extends substantially horizontally toward the front of the vehicle body 2. The rear end of the rear region 24 is joined to the front end of each side member 8 via, for example, a torque box (not shown). Thus, when the vehicle 1 is subjected to a head-on collision, the rear region 24 transmits the impact load transmitted from the front of the vehicle body 2 to the side members 8.

[0039] The inclined region 25 is inclined at a predetermined elevation angle from the front end of the rear region 24 toward the front of the vehicle body 2. The front region 26 extends from the front end of the inclined region 25 toward the front of the vehicle body 2 substantially horizontally.

[0040] The strut tower 40 (suspension tower) is provided between each upper frame 21 and each front frame 22. A portion of each strut tower 40 is formed integrally with each upper frame 21 and each front frame 22. Each strut tower 40 is set to have high rigidity and high strength and is a vehicle body front frame for fixing the suspension.

[0041] like Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the bracket 50 provided at the lower portion of the motor room 4 is, for example, a cross-shaped frame formed by combining a pair of left and right lower side frames 51 , a front cross beam 52 , and a rear cross beam 53 .

[0042] The pair of lower side frames 51 is, for example, a hollow member having a rectangular closed cross section. Each lower side frame 51 is formed by, for example, joining a plurality of panels. Each lower side frame 51 extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2 .

[0043] like Figure 2 As shown, the lower side frames 51 are set to have a smaller distance in the vehicle width direction than the distance between the pair of front side frames 22. In addition, each lower side frame 51 is arranged so that a part of the area outside in the vehicle width direction overlaps the lower side of each front side frame 22 in a plan view.

[0044] Furthermore, a suspension arm (not shown) is connected to the outer side surface in the vehicle width direction of each lower frame 51. Each suspension arm is disposed on the bracket 50 so as to be swingable in the up-down direction.

[0045] The front cross member 52 and the rear cross member 53 are, for example, hollow members having a closed cross-sectional shape. The front cross member 52 and the rear cross member 53 are formed, for example, by joining a plurality of panels. The front cross member 52 and the rear cross member 53 have a predetermined interval in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body and extend in the vehicle width direction.

[0046] The left and right ends of the front cross member 52 and the rear cross member 53 are respectively joined to the middle of each lower frame 51. Thus, the bracket 50 formed by each lower frame 51, the front cross member 52 and the rear cross member 53 supports the power unit 45 such as the motor and the control unit 46 on the vehicle body 2.

[0047] like Figure 1 As shown in FIG. 1 , the bracket 50 configured as described above is joined to the lower portion of each front side frame 22 . Specifically, the rear region of each lower side frame 51 configuring the bracket 50 is joined to the rear region 24 of each front side frame 22 .

[0048] Furthermore, the front end portion of each lower frame 51 is joined to the front region 26 of each front frame 22 via a columnar reinforcement member 54. The reinforcement member 54 extends in the up-down direction and has, for example, a prism shape.

[0049] The position of the front end of the bracket 50 coincides with the front end of the structure of the strut tower 40, and each lower frame 51 is joined to the strut tower 40. In addition, it is preferable that the reinforcement member 54 is also joined to the strut tower 40.

[0050] The bracket extension 55 is provided in front of the bracket 50. The bracket extension 55 is a frame formed by combining a pair of left and right lower frames 56 and a cross beam 57.

[0051] The pair of lower side frames 56 is, for example, a hollow member having a closed cross-sectional shape. Each lower side frame 56 is formed by, for example, joining a plurality of panels. Each lower side frame 56 extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2 .

[0052] Each lower side frame 56 is joined to the front end of the lower side frame 51 of the bracket 50. Each lower side frame 56 is arranged so that a part of the region on the outer side in the vehicle width direction overlaps with the lower side of each front side frame 22 in a plan view.

[0053] The cross beam 57 is, for example, a hollow member having a closed cross-sectional shape. The cross beam 57 is formed by, for example, joining a plurality of panels. Both left and right end portions of the cross beam 57 are joined to the middle of each lower frame 56, respectively.

[0054] In addition, the middle portion of each lower side frame 56 is joined to the front region 26 of each front side frame 22 via a columnar reinforcement member 58. The reinforcement member 58 extends in the up-down direction and has, for example, a prism shape.

[0055] In this way, the bracket 50 and the bracket extension 55 are joined to each front side frame 22. In addition, the front region of each lower side frame 51 of the bracket 50 is set to be longer than the length required to support the power unit 45 and the control unit 46.

[0056] The front ends of the lower frames 56 of the bracket extension 55 are arranged at substantially the same vehicle body front-rear positions as the front ends of the front side frames 22. That is, the lower frames 56 of the bracket extension 55 extend further forward than the cross member 57.

[0057] The radiator support 30 is mounted on the inner side of the front end of each lower frame 56. The radiator support 30 includes a radiator upper frame 31, a pair of left and right radiator side frames 32, and a radiator lower frame 33. The radiator support 30 is a frame body for supporting a radiator core (not shown) in the front part of the motor room 4.

[0058] The radiator upper frame 31 and the radiator lower frame 33 each extend in the vehicle width direction. Both sides of the radiator upper frame 31 are joined to the upper ends of the pair of radiator side frames 32. Both sides of the radiator lower frame 33 are joined to the lower ends of the pair of radiator side frames 32. That is, the left and right ends of each of the radiator upper frame 31 and the radiator lower frame 33 are connected via the pair of radiator side frames 32.

[0059] The left and right ends of the radiator lower frame 33 are joined to the front end portions of the lower side frames 56. Thus, the bracket 50, the bracket extension 55, and the radiator lower frame 33 form a so-called ladder-shaped structure.

[0060] Each radiator side frame 32 has a bracket 34. Each bracket 34 is, for example, a flat plate member extending outward in the vehicle width direction. The front end of each front side frame 22 is joined to the rear surface of each bracket 34.

[0061] In addition, each bracket 34 is connected to a first crash box 41 protruding forward of the vehicle body 2 on its front surface. Each first crash box 41 is arranged at an extended position extending forward from each bracket 34 and continuous with each front side frame 22. Each first crash box 41 is connected to a bumper beam 42 extending in the vehicle width direction at a front end portion.

[0062] In addition, the second crash box 43 is joined to the front end portion of each lower frame 56 of the bracket extension portion 55. The lip spoiler 44 extending in the vehicle width direction is joined to the front end portion of each second crash box 43.

[0063] The vehicle 1 includes a beam member 60 as a beam structure extending from the bracket 50 to the radiator side frame 32 as the vehicle body front structure of the main part of the present embodiment. The beam member 60 is disposed in a vehicle body front space formed from the front end of the bracket 50 located below the motor room 4 to above the bracket extension portion 55 disposed on the radiator side frame 32. That is, the vehicle body front space is a space formed between the motor room 4 and the radiator support.

[0064] Specifically, if Figure 2 As shown in the figure, the beam member 60 has an arc portion 61, a winding portion 62 formed at both ends of the arc portion 61, and a control plate 63. The beam member 60 is a hollow long strip member formed by forming a metal pipe or the like into an arch shape. In addition, the beam member 60 can be a solid long strip member formed by forming a bow shape by a metal rod or the like. Each winding portion 62 provided at both ends of the arc portion 61 is formed into a spiral shape that draws an involute curve and is wound from the outside to the inside.

[0065] The center of the arc portion 61 is fixed by the front cross member 52 of the bracket 50 and a fixing member 64 such as a clamp. A control plate 63 which is a metal plate body is joined to the outer surface of the inner side of each winding portion 62.

[0066] Each winding portion 62 is joined so as to be located as a whole behind the front end portion of the control plate 63. That is, the control plate 63 has a length in the front-rear direction extending further toward the front side of the vehicle body 2 than the winding portion 62. Each winding portion 62 and each control plate 63 are point-joined by welding or the like. In addition, each winding portion 62 and each control plate 63 may be joined by bolt fastening, a clamp or other fixing member.

[0067] The control panels 63 are joined to the radiator side frames 32 and the front side frames 22 in a manner that they can be slid slightly (more or less) laterally by a predetermined distance (length) independently of the radiator side frames 32 and the front side frames 22. Specifically, each control panel 63 is joined to the outer side surface in the vehicle width direction at the front end portion of the front region 26 of the front side frame 22 in a manner that covers the bracket 34 of the radiator side frame 32.

[0068] For example, a long hole may be formed in the control plate 63, and bolts may be passed through the long hole to fasten the control plate 63 to the radiator side frame 32 and the front side frame 22, so that the control plate 63 can be independently slidably moved slightly toward the rear side.

[0069] Furthermore, a guide rail or the like for slidingly holding the control plate 63 may be provided on the outer side surface of each front frame 22 so that the control plate 63 can be independently and slightly slidably moved toward the rear side.

[0070] Thus, the center of the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60 is fixed to the front cross beam 52 of the bracket 50 by the fixing member 64. Then, the wrapping portions 62 at both ends of the beam member 60 are respectively joined to the outer side surfaces of the radiator side frame 32 and the front side frame 22 via the control plate 63 so as to be slightly slidable to the rear side.

[0071] In this state, if Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the front rolled portions 62 of the beam member 60 are located at the upper side, and the center of the arc portion 61 at the rear side is located at the lower side. That is, the beam member 60 is arranged to expand in an arc shape from the center of the vehicle width to the outer side of the vehicle width and to be inclined upward toward the front.

[0072] The beam member 60 is disposed so that the arc portion 61 passes between the reinforcing members 54 joined to the bracket 50 and the reinforcing members 58 joined to the bracket extension 55. The beam member 60 is connected to the outer side surfaces of the radiator side frames 32 and the front side frames 22 via the control plate 63. That is, the beam member 60 is disposed so that the arc portion 61 intersects the front side frames 22.

[0073] Next, the action of the vehicle body 2 in the front structure of the vehicle 1 constructed as described above during a full overlap frontal collision will be described. In the following description, a wall-like obstacle 100 is exemplified as a collision object, but the present invention is not limited thereto and is also applicable to various collision objects such as other vehicles.

[0074] For example, Figure 3 As shown, at the initial stage of a full overlap frontal collision, each first collision box 41 and the bumper beam 42 are crushed (buckled) by the collision of the wall-shaped barrier 100. At the same time, each second collision box 43 and the lip spoiler 44 are crushed (buckled) by the collision of the wall-shaped barrier 100. In addition, if it is a full overlap frontal collision at a vehicle speed of about 20 km / h, the first collision box 41, the bumper beam 42, the second collision box 43 and the lip spoiler 44 are crushed, so that the impact can be absorbed.

[0075] In the subsequent mid-collision, e.g. Figure 4 As shown, the front region 26 of each front side frame 22 and the front region of each lower side frame 56 of the bracket extension 55 begin to be crushed.

[0076] like Figure 5 As shown, when each first collision box 41 and each second collision box 43 are crushed and completely collapsed, the collision load is input to the control board 63. That is, each first collision box 41 and each second collision box 43 are crushed and become a state that cannot be crushed any further. Then, the radiator support 30 begins to be crushed, and the front area of the lower side frame 56 of the bracket extension 55 begins to be crushed. During the crushing process, the collision load is transmitted to each control board 63.

[0077] At this time, each control panel 63 starts to retreat independently by a predetermined distance relative to the radiator side frame 32 and each front side frame 22. Each control panel 63 is strong against deformation in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 2 and starts to retreat immediately upon receiving the collision load.

[0078] Each winding portion 62 connected to the control plate 63 begins to be rolled inward and deformed as the control plate 63 moves backward. Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 1 , when the control plate 63 moves backward due to the input of the collision load (in the direction of arrow F), the winding portion 62 is in a spiral shape that describes an involute curve, and is thus rolled and deformed toward the center side (in the direction of arrow C). At this time, the winding portion 62 generates a force that expands toward the outer peripheral direction, and is deformed in a direction that protrudes toward the outside in the vehicle width direction (in the direction of arrow O).

[0079] Furthermore, when the winding portion 62 moves backward together with the control plate 63 due to the input of the collision load, the arc portion 61 absorbs the impact load and pushes forward while deforming (bending) (in the direction of arrow R). That is, the arc portion 61 tends to expand outward in the vehicle width direction, but since the winding portions 62 provided at both ends are engaged with the moving control plate 63, deformation outward in the vehicle width direction is suppressed.

[0080] At the same time, the arc portion 61 generates a tensile force toward each winding portion 62 due to the protruding deformation caused by the rolling deformation of each winding portion 62. Furthermore, when the winding portion 62 moves backward together with the control plate 63, the arc portion 61 is deformed so that the distance from the fixed position with the front cross beam 52 to the winding portion 62 is reduced, and the vicinity of each winding portion 62 is pushed out obliquely forward. As a result, the beam member 60 absorbs the impact load.

[0081] In addition, although Figure 6 Only the arc portion 61 , the winding portion 62 , and the control plate 63 on the right side are illustrated in the figure, but the deformation of the arc portion 61 and the winding portion 62 on the left side and the control plate 63 are also in the same state.

[0082] In addition, if Figure 4 As shown, the arc portion 61 is inclined from the fixed position with the front cross beam 52 toward the front and upward direction. Therefore, when each winding portion 62 retreats together with the control plate 63, the arc portion 61 is protruded and deformed (bent) in a manner that the vicinity of each winding portion 62 is also pushed toward the front side (in the direction of arrow B).

[0083] For example, Figure 7As shown, at the end of the subsequent collision, each front side frame 22 and each lower side frame 56 are further crushed. In this state, the rear portion of each lower side frame 51 connected to the rear of each lower side frame 56 is connected to each front side frame 22. In addition, the beam member 60 absorbs the impact load and finally deforms in a manner that the arc portion 61 bends.

[0084] Furthermore, the front end portion of each lower side frame 51 is connected to each front side frame 22 via a reinforcing member 54. Thus, each lower side frame 51 does not retreat to the rear of the vehicle body 2 during a head-on collision, but generates a reaction force in the front area of the motor room 4. Thus, each lower side frame 51 of the bracket 50 cooperates with each front side frame 22 to suppress deformation of the motor room 4.

[0085] Next, the action of the vehicle body 2 in the front structure of the vehicle 1 during a small overlap frontal collision will be described.

[0086] For example, Figure 8 and Fig. 9 As shown, in the early stage of the small overlap frontal collision, the first crash box 41 and the bumper beam 42 on the side where the obstacle 200 such as a pole collides are crushed. At the same time, the second crash box 43 and the lip spoiler 44 on the side where the obstacle 200 such as a pole collides are crushed.

[0087] In addition, the second crash box 43 is arranged on the inner side in the vehicle width direction than the first crash box 41. Therefore, the crushing amount of the first crash box 41 and the crushing amount of the second crash box 43 are different depending on the collision position of the obstacle 200. Figure 8 and Fig. 9 In the example shown, the crushing amount of the second collision box 43 is relatively smaller than the crushing amount of the first collision box 41 .

[0088] For example, Fig.10 As shown, in the subsequent middle stage of the collision, the first crash box 41 and the second crash box 43 are crushed while the side ends of the bumper beam 42 and the lip spoiler 44 are crushed. At this time, the obstacle 200 reaches one side of the beam member 60 provided on the outer side surface of the front side frame 22, and reaches the vicinity of the left wrapping portion 62.

[0089] For example, Fig.11 As shown, at the end of the subsequent collision, the obstacle 200 reaches the vicinity of the front end of the front side frame 22. At this time, the bumper beam 42 retreats to the position of the radiator support 30. Then, the rear surface (back surface) of the crushed bumper beam 42 contacts (abuts) with the rolled portion 62 of the beam member 60.

[0090] At this time, the beam member 60 generates resistance to the collision load input from the obstacle 200 via the bumper beam 42. That is, the wrap portion 62 of the beam member 60 is disposed outside the front side frame 22 in the vehicle width direction and describes a spiral shape of an involute curve.

[0091] Therefore, even when the obstacle 200 intrudes into the vehicle body 2 in a state of being offset outward in the vehicle width direction relative to the front side frame 22, the beam member 60 transmits the reaction force to the obstacle 200 by the protrusion of the arc portion 61. That is, when the collision load from the obstacle 200 is input, the beam member 60 generates resistance to the obstacle 200 by the protrusion of the arc portion 61.

[0092] Then, the vehicle 1 generates a yaw moment that rotates the vehicle body 2 outward in the vehicle width direction due to the resistance of the beam member 60 to the collision load from the obstacle 200. That is, due to the protrusion of the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60, the collision load that is not absorbed by the first collision box 41 and the second collision box 43 is converted into a yaw moment that rotates the vehicle body 2.

[0093] like Fig.11 As shown, for example, when the obstacle 200 collides with the left front portion of the vehicle body 2, a yaw moment in a direction (arrow Y direction) that rotates the front portion of the vehicle body 2 to the right is generated in the vehicle body 2. By generating such a yaw moment by the beam member 60, the collision load transmitted from the obstacle 200 to the front side frame 22 and the lower side frame 56 is reduced. As a result, the front portions of the front side frame 22 and the lower side frame 56 are relieved from the collision load of the obstacle 200 without being severely deformed.

[0094] As described above, the vehicle body front structure of the present embodiment is formed from the front end of the bracket 50 constituting the framework of the vehicle body 2 to above the bracket extension 55 of the radiator side frame 32 and includes the beam member 60 in the vehicle body front space in front of the motor room 4 .

[0095] The center portion of the arcuate portion 61 of the beam member 60 is fixed to the front cross beam 52 provided on the front end side of the crisscross structure bracket 5. The beam member 60 is arranged so that the arcuate portion 61 extends to the front end position of the front side frame 22 joined to the radiator side frame 32 and the bracket 34 of the radiator support 30.

[0096] In addition, the beam member 60 has spirally wound portions 62 formed in an involute curve at both ends of the arc portion 61. Each wound portion 62 is joined to the outer side surface of the radiator side frame 32 and the front side frame 22 via a control plate 63. In addition, each control plate 63 is fixed to the outer side surface of the radiator side frame 32 and the front side frame 22 in a manner that allows the control plates 63 to be independently slightly slidable when pushed backward by the collision load during a full overlap frontal collision.

[0097] The bracket 50 is arranged so that the front end position coincides with the front end position of the strut tower 40. In addition, the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60 is fixed to the front cross beam 52 arranged at the front end position of the bracket 50. In addition, each lower side frame 51 of the bracket 50 is connected to the strut tower 40 to obtain the reaction force of the beam member 60.

[0098] In the vehicle body front space above the bracket extension 55, the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60 extends in an upward oblique direction toward the front side frame 22. In addition, the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60 is arranged around the outer side of the front side frame 22. Therefore, in a small overlap frontal collision, the arc portion 61 of the beam member 60 protrudes to generate resistance, and serves as a reinforcement member to suppress deformation of the vehicle body framework such as the front side frame 22 and the bracket 50.

[0099] In this way, the vehicle 1 can suppress the deformation of the motor room 4 in either a full overlap frontal collision or a small overlap frontal collision by providing the beam member 60 on the vehicle body 2. That is, the beam member 60 provided at the front of the vehicle body is a beam structure that rapidly deforms in a full overlap frontal collision and protrudes in a small overlap frontal collision to induce the vehicle 1 to deflect.

[0100] The vehicle body front structure of the present embodiment is provided with the beam member 60 which serves as a collision load (energy) absorption member in a full overlap frontal collision and as a resistance member in a small overlap frontal collision. Thus, the vehicle body front structure can effectively suppress deformation of the power unit chamber, in this case, the motor chamber 4.

[0101] Therefore, the vehicle body front structure is configured to be able to suppress deformation of the power unit chamber in either a full overlap frontal collision or a small overlap frontal collision.

[0102] In addition, in the above-mentioned embodiment, an electric vehicle in which the power unit 45 is an electric motor or the like is exemplified, but this is not limited to this. Even if it is a vehicle in which a power unit such as a reciprocating engine is used as a driving source, as long as the front space of the vehicle body can be ensured on the front side of the power unit room, a beam structure of the beam component 60 can of course be provided.

[0103] The invention described in the above embodiments is not limited to the above-mentioned modes. In addition, various modifications can be implemented in the implementation stage without departing from the scope of the present invention. Furthermore, the above-mentioned embodiments include inventions at various stages, and various inventions can be extracted by appropriately combining the disclosed multiple constituent elements.

[0104] For example, even if some components are deleted from all the components shown in each embodiment, the problem can be solved. When the effect is obtained, the structure without the components can be extracted as an invention.
