Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of power transmission devices, such as a power transmission device from a vehicle engine to a transmission, and more particularly to a torque transmission device and a hydraulic torque converter including the torque transmission device. Background Art

[0002] The torque transmission device is usually provided with a damping mechanism, such as an elastic component, more specifically a spring. In order to prevent the elastic component from being irreversibly deformed or failing due to over-compression, a stopper that limits the compression amount of the elastic component needs to be provided. In the prior art, the stopper is usually an additional component added or assembled to the damping mechanism, such as a separate rivet, which requires more radial space and increases the assembly process due to the addition of additional components, which is not conducive to cost-effectiveness.

[0003] There is a need for a completely new torque transmitting device that avoids the problems of the prior art and provides other advantages. Summary of the invention

[0004] To this end, according to a first aspect of the present disclosure, a torque transmission device is provided, having a central axis and comprising:

[0005] a torque input component, configured to receive a rotational torque and rotatable about the central axis;

[0006] a torque output component, configured to receive the torque transmitted by the torque input component and rotatable around the central axis;

[0007] a plurality of elastic components distributed in a circumferential direction around the central axis, wherein the elastic components are configured such that when the torque input component rotates, the elastic components are compressed in a circumferential direction between the torque input component and the torque output component to transmit the torque to the torque output component;

[0008] A plurality of stop tabs are arranged on the radial inner periphery of the torque input component, and a stop portion cooperating with the corresponding stop tabs is arranged on the torque output component to limit the angular travel of the torque input component relative to the torque output component.

[0009] Therefore, the stop member that limits the angular travel of the torque input component relative to the torque output component and thus limits the compression amount of the elastic component is set as a stop protrusion on the radial inner periphery of the torque input component, thereby avoiding the use and assembly of additional components, thereby not increasing the volume of the torque transmission device, facilitating the realization of a particularly compact structure and improving cost-effectiveness by saving assembly steps.

[0010] According to different embodiments, the torque transmission device proposed by the present disclosure may also include one or more of the following further developments.

[0011] In some embodiments, the torque output component is provided with a guide portion cooperating with a corresponding stop lug. Thus, the stop lug can also cooperate with the guide portion to guide the circumferential rotation of the torque output component.

[0012] In some embodiments, the guide portion extends in the circumferential direction, and during the angular stroke, at least two radially opposite stop tabs of the plurality of stop tabs each radially face the corresponding guide portion. Thus, the stop tab can also cooperate with the guide portion to limit the radial movement of the torque output component, thereby helping to achieve a stable operation of the torque transmission device and ensure its performance.

[0013] In some embodiments, there is a radial gap between the guide portion and the stop tab. The radial gap avoids excessive friction between the guide portion and the stop tab, further facilitating the operating performance of the torque transmission device.

[0014] In some embodiments, the stop tab is axially bent from a radial inner periphery of the torque input component.

[0015] In some embodiments, the stop tab and the guide portion are arc segments on two concentric circles respectively.

[0016] In some embodiments, the torque output component is provided with a circumferential window corresponding to the elastic component, and the stopper is provided at a circumferential end of the circumferential window. This further ensures a compact overall structure of the torque transmission device and ensures that the structure of the torque transmission device is simple and easy to implement.

[0017] In some embodiments, the guide portion is at least a portion of the radial inner side of the corresponding circumferential window. This further ensures a compact overall structure of the torque transmission device. This further ensures a compact overall structure of the torque transmission device and ensures that the structure of the torque transmission device is simple and easy to implement.

[0018] In some embodiments, the torque output component is provided with a stress release portion between the guide portion and the stop portion. The stress release portion can effectively avoid stress concentration near the stop portion, which may cause the torque output component to break or crack near the stop portion, thereby failing to ensure the operating performance of the torque output component or even damaging the torque output component.

[0019] In some embodiments, the torque transmission device further comprises a retaining member fixedly connected to the torque input member to retain the elastic member between the torque input member and the retaining member. This helps to stabilize the operation of the torque transmission device.

[0020] In some embodiments, the retaining component is provided with a notch corresponding to the stop protrusion, and the stop protrusion extends axially into the corresponding notch.

[0021] In some embodiments, the radial clearance is 0-1 mm. A radial clearance in this range can achieve an optimal compromise between low-friction circumferential guidance of the torque output component and prevention of radial movement thereof.

[0022] In some embodiments, the radial gap is 0 to 0.6 mm.

[0023] In some embodiments, the radial gap is 0.4 mm.

[0024] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, a hydraulic torque converter is provided, which includes the torque transmission device as described above. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0071] like Figure 1-9 As shown, the present disclosure provides a torque transmission device 10. In a specific exemplary application, the torque transmission device 10 may be a component of a hydraulic torque converter, which may be used in a vehicle, for example, to transmit torque from a crankshaft of an engine to a transmission.

[0072] According to an exemplary embodiment, Figure 1-9 As shown, the torque transmission device has a central axis X and includes a torque input member 100 , a torque output member 200 and a plurality of intermediate transmission elastic members 300 .

[0073] The torque input component 100 is configured to receive a rotational torque and to rotate about a central axis X. In a specific embodiment, the torque input component 100 is configured to receive a rotational torque from a crankshaft of an engine. Figure 1-4 As shown, the torque input component 100 in some embodiments may be configured as a whole in the form of an annular disk, the center of which may be passed through by the central axis X. In a specific embodiment, the torque input component 100 receives a rotational torque via at least one input elastic component 500, for example, receives a rotational torque from a crankshaft of an engine. More specifically, as Figure 1-4As shown, the torque input component 100 may be provided with a plurality of retaining structures 120 for retaining the input elastic component 500, and the retaining structure 120 is in the form of a tab protruding radially outward from the radial periphery of the torque input component 100 in the embodiment shown in the figure. The input elastic component 500 is an input coil spring assembly in a specific embodiment, and the two ends of each input coil spring assembly respectively abut against the corresponding retaining structure 120. Thus, when the rotational torque is transmitted to the corresponding input coil elastic assembly, one end of the input coil elastic assembly can transmit the rotational torque to the retaining structure 120 of the torque input component 100 abutting therewith, so that the torque input component 100 can rotate around the rotation axis X. More specifically, a plurality of, for example, four, coil elastic assemblies are distributed circumferentially around the midline axis X, more specifically evenly distributed. In a more specific embodiment, each coil spring assembly may include an outer input coil spring and an inner input coil spring arranged inside the outer input coil spring, thereby achieving a more compact structure to achieve a more torque transmission and vibration damping effect.

[0074] The torque output component 200 is configured to receive the torque transmitted by the torque input component 100 and can rotate around the central axis X. Figure 1-2 As shown in FIGS. 4-6 , the torque output component 200 may be configured as a disk as a whole in some embodiments, and the center of the disk may be passed through by the central axis X. More specifically, as Figure 1-2 As shown in FIGS. 4-6 , the torque output component 200 may be provided with a central spline hole 290 , and the torque output component 200 may output the rotational torque to a spline shaft (not shown) matched with the central spline hole 290 , such as an input shaft of a gearbox system, via the central spline hole 290 .

[0075] like Figure 1-5 As shown in FIGS. 7-9, the plurality of intermediate transmission elastic components 300 may be distributed in the circumferential direction around the central axis X, and the intermediate transmission elastic components 300 are configured such that when the torque input component 100 rotates, the intermediate transmission elastic components 300 are compressed in the circumferential direction between the torque input component 100 and the torque output component 200 to transmit the torque to the torque output component 200. Thus, the rotational torque may be transmitted to the torque output component 200 via the plurality of intermediate transmission elastic components 300. For example, the torque input component 200 may be provided with a first torque transmission structure for cooperating with the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 to transmit the torque to the intermediate transmission elastic component 300, and the torque output component 200 may be provided with a second torque transmission structure for cooperating with the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 to receive the torque from the intermediate transmission elastic component 300.

[0076] In some embodiments, Figure 2-4As shown in Figures 6, 7 and 9, the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100 may be provided with a plurality of stop tabs 110a, 110b, and the torque output component 200 is provided with stop portions 210a, 210b that cooperate with the corresponding stop tabs 110 to limit the angular travel of the torque input component 100 relative to the torque output component 200. In a specific embodiment, the torque transmission device 10 is configured to rotate in any rotation direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) according to actual needs. Therefore, the torque input component 100 can rotate in two opposite rotation directions relative to the torque output component 200, and therefore, a stop mechanism that limits the angular travel in the two rotation directions needs to be provided. In the specific embodiment shown in the figure, the stop tab 110a of the torque input component 100, which is called the first stop tab, is configured to cooperate with the stop portion 210a of the torque output component, which is called the first stop portion, to limit the rotation of the torque input component 100 relative to the torque output component 200 in the counterclockwise direction (clockwise or counterclockwise). Figure 2 The stop tab 110b of the torque input component, which is called the second stop tab, can be arranged to cooperate with the stop portion 210b of the torque output component, which is called the second stop portion, to limit the angular travel of the torque input component 100 in the clockwise direction relative to the torque output component 200. In a variation not shown in the figure, the setting position of the stop tab of the torque input component 100 can allow the same stop tab to cooperate with both the first stop tab 110a and the second stop tab 110b, so as to limit the angular travel of the torque input component 100 relative to the torque output component 200 in two rotational directions. Therefore, the stop member that limits the angular travel of the torque input component 100 relative to the torque output component 200 and thus limits the compression amount of the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is set as the stop protrusions 110a, 110b on the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100, thereby avoiding the use and assembly of additional components, thereby not increasing the volume of the torque transmission device 10, facilitating a particularly compact structure and improving cost-effectiveness by saving assembly steps.

[0077] In some embodiments, Figure 2 and 4As shown in FIG. 6 , the torque output component 200 may also be provided with a guide portion 220 that cooperates with the corresponding stop tabs 110a, 110b. Thus, the stop tabs 110a, 110b may also cooperate with the guide portion 220 to guide the circumferential rotation of the torque output component 200 and limit the radial movement of the torque output component 200. In a specific embodiment, the stop tabs 110a, 110b are configured to have a component extending axially from the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100. More specifically, the stop tabs 110a, 110b are configured to be bent axially from the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100, that is, the stop tabs 110a, 110b are integrally provided with the torque input component 100 and extend axially from the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100. The stop tabs 110a, 110b are more specifically formed by stamping from the radial inner periphery of the torque input component 100.

[0078] In some embodiments, Figure 2 and 4 -6, the guide portion 220 of the torque output component 200 can be arranged to extend in the circumferential direction. In a specific embodiment, the stop tabs 110a, 110b of the torque input component 100 and the guide portion 220 of the torque output component 200 are arc segments on two concentric circles, respectively, thereby ensuring the best guiding effect. In a specific embodiment, it can be arranged that during the angular stroke of the torque input component 100 rotating relative to the torque output component 200, at least two radially opposite stop tabs of the plurality of stop tabs 110a, 110b each radially face the corresponding guide portion 220. Thus, the stop tab can always cooperate with the guide portion 220 to play a role in limiting the radial movement of the torque output component 200, thereby helping to achieve a stable operation of the torque transmission device 10 and ensure its performance.

[0079] In some embodiments, there is a radial gap between the guide portion 220 of the torque output component 200 and the stop tab of the torque input component 100. The radial gap avoids excessive friction between the guide portion 220 and the stop tab, which is further beneficial to the operating performance of the torque transmission device 10. In some embodiments, the radial gap is 0 to 1 mm. The radial gap in this range can achieve the best compromise between low-friction circumferential guidance of the torque output component 200 and prevention of its radial movement. In one embodiment, the radial gap can be specifically 0 to 0.6 mm. In another embodiment, the radial gap can be specifically 0.4 mm.

[0080] In some embodiments, Figure 4-5As shown, the torque output component 200 is provided with a circumferential window called a second circumferential window 230 corresponding to each intermediate transmission elastic component 300, and the stopper portions 210a, 210b are provided at the circumferential ends 230a, 230b of the second circumferential window 230. More specifically, each stopper portion 210a, 210b is formed by at least a portion of one of the circumferential ends 230a, 230b of one second circumferential window 230. This further ensures a compact overall construction of the torque transmission device 10, and ensures a simple structure of the torque transmission device 10, reduces the number of components, and thus simplifies assembly. More specifically, as Figure 1-2 As shown in Figures 4-5, the torque output component 200 may include a radially inner portion provided with a central spline hole 290, referred to as a second radially inner portion 270, and the radial inner side of the second circumferential window 230 corresponds to the radial outer periphery of the second radially inner portion 270. The torque output component 200 may also include a radially outer portion referred to as a second radially outer portion 280 and a radially extending connecting portion connecting the second radially inner portion 270 with the second radially outer portion 280, referred to as a second connecting portion 260, and the second circumferential window 230 may be formed between two adjacent second connecting portions 260, and the two circumferential sides of the second connecting portion 260 respectively form a corresponding circumferential end portion 230a, 230b of the two adjacent second circumferential windows 230. In a specific embodiment, the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is a coil spring assembly, and may include, for example, an outer coil spring and an inner coil spring arranged inside the outer coil spring. As shown in Figures 4-5 and 4-5, the intermediate transmission elastic component 200 may include a radially outer portion referred to as a second radially outer portion 280 and a radially extending connecting portion connecting the second radially inner portion 270 and the second radially outer portion 280, referred to as a second connecting portion 260, and the second circumferential window 230 may be formed between two adjacent second connecting portions 260, and the two circumferential sides of the second connecting portion 260 respectively form a corresponding circumferential end portion 230a, 230b of the two adjacent second circumferential windows 230. In a specific embodiment, the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is a coil spring assembly, and may include, for example, an outer coil spring and an inner coil spring arranged inside the outer coil spring. Figure 4-5 As shown, in one embodiment, the intermediate transfer elastic member 300 may be held such that both ends of the intermediate transfer elastic member 300 respectively abut against the corresponding circumferential ends 230 a , 230 b of the second circumferential window 230 .

[0081] In some embodiments, the first torque transmission structure of the torque input component 100 is configured to apply pressure to the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 when the torque input component 100 rotates, so that the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is compressed between the first torque transmission structure and a corresponding circumferential end 230a, 230b of the corresponding second circumferential window 230 of the torque output component 200, that is, the second torque transmission structure of the torque output component 200 is formed by the circumferential ends 230a, 230b of the second circumferential window 230, thereby the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 can transmit torque to the torque output component 200 so that the torque output component 200 rotates around the rotation axis X. In a specific embodiment, as Figure 1-3As shown, the torque input component 100 may include a circumferential window called a first circumferential window 130 corresponding to each intermediate transmission elastic component 300, and the first torque transmission structure is formed by the circumferential ends 130a, 130b of the first circumferential window 130. More specifically, the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is also held with its two ends simultaneously respectively abutting against the circumferential ends 130a, 130b of the corresponding first circumferential window 130. Thus, when the torque input component 100 rotates, one corresponding circumferential end 130a, 130b of the first circumferential window 130 applies a compressive force to the intermediate transmission elastic component 300, and the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 is therefore compressed between the circumferential end of the first circumferential window 130 and the opposite circumferential end of the corresponding second circumferential window 230 of the torque output component 200, thereby transmitting the torque to the torque output component 200.

[0082] exist Figure 1-5 In the specific embodiment shown in , when the torque input component 100 starts to rotate in the counterclockwise direction, the circumferential end 130b of the first circumferential window 130 of the torque input component 100 applies pressure to the intermediate transfer elastic component 300 in the counterclockwise direction, and the intermediate transfer elastic component 300 starts to compress and thus applies a thrust to the circumferential end 130a of the second circumferential window 130 of the torque output component 200 against which it abuts, thereby transmitting the torque to the torque output component 200 and thus causing the torque output component 200 to also start to rotate in the counterclockwise direction. When the torque input component 100 starts to rotate in the clockwise direction, the circumferential end 130a of the first circumferential window 130 of the torque input component 100 applies pressure to the intermediate transfer elastic component 300 in the clockwise direction, and the intermediate transfer elastic component 300 starts to compress and thus applies a thrust to the circumferential end 130b of the second circumferential window 130 of the torque output component 200 against which it abuts, thereby transmitting the torque to the torque output component 200 and thus causing the torque output component 200 to also start to rotate in the clockwise direction.

[0083] like Figure 1-5 As shown, in a specific embodiment, the torque input component 100 includes four first circumferential windows 130 evenly distributed along the circumference, and correspondingly, the torque output component 200 also includes four second circumferential windows 230 evenly distributed along the circumference. More specifically, one second circumferential window 230 and one first circumferential window 130 together hold an intermediate transmission elastic component 300 in the circumferential direction.

[0084] like Figure 1-3As shown, in a specific embodiment, the torque input component 100 may include a radial inner portion referred to as a first radial inner portion 170 and a radial outer portion referred to as a first radial outer portion 180. Stop tabs 110a, 110b are provided on the first radial inner portion 170, more specifically, on the radial inner periphery of the first radial inner portion 170. Optionally, a plurality of retaining structures 120 for retaining the input elastic component 500 are provided on the first radial outer portion 180, more specifically, on the radial outer periphery of the first radial outer portion 180. The torque input component 100 further includes a radially extending connecting portion, referred to as a first connecting portion 160, connecting the first radial inner portion 170 and the first radial outer portion 180. Each first circumferential window 130 is formed between two adjacent first connecting portions 160. More specifically, the two circumferential sides of the first connecting portion 160 respectively form one of the circumferential ends 130a, 130b of the two adjacent first circumferential windows 130. Thus, a very compact and stable overall structure can be achieved.

[0085] In some embodiments, Figure 3-4 As shown, the guide portion 220 of the torque output component 200 may be at least a portion of the radially inner side of the corresponding second circumferential window 230. This further ensures a compact overall structure of the torque transmission device 10, and ensures that the structure of the torque transmission device 10 is simple, the number of components is reduced, and thus the assembly is simplified, and the cost-effectiveness is improved.

[0086] In some embodiments, Figure 1-2 As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 , the torque output component 200 is provided with a stress release portion 240 between the guide portion 220 and the stop portions 210a, 210b. In the specific embodiment shown in the figure, the stress release portion 240 is in the form of a recess hollowed out on the radial outer periphery of the second radial inner portion 270 of the torque output component 200, that is, it is provided on the radial inner side of the second axial window 230. The stress release portion 240 can effectively avoid stress concentration near the stop portions 210a, 210b, which may cause the torque output component 200 to break or crack near the stop portions 210a, 210b, thereby failing to ensure the operating performance of the torque output component 200 or even damaging the torque output component 200. It should be noted that the stress relief portion 240, the stop tabs 110a, 110b and the guide portion 220 are arranged in such a manner that during the angular travel of the torque input component 100 rotating relative to the torque output component 200, at least two radially opposite stop tabs 110 among the plurality of stop tabs 110a, 110b each radially face the corresponding guide portion 220, as mentioned above.

[0087] In some embodiments, Figure 1-2As shown in FIG. 4 , the portions of the circumferential ends 230 a and 230 b of the second circumferential window 230 that form the stoppers 210 a and 210 b may be circumferentially widened relative to the remaining portions to ensure the strength of the stoppers 210 a and 210 b.

[0088] like Figure 2 and 7 -9, in some embodiments, the torque transmission device 10 may further include a retaining component 400, which is fixedly connected to the torque input component 100 so as to be able to rotate with the torque input component 100, for example, via threaded connection or riveting, and retains the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 between the torque input component 100 and the retaining component 400. More specifically, the torque input component 100 and the retaining component 400 may be arranged to retain the intermediate transmission elastic component 300 in the axial direction, and preferably such retention is performed with a gap so as not to hinder any compression movement of the intermediate transmission elastic component 300. More specifically, the retaining component 400 may be arranged in the overall shape of a disc. In a more specific embodiment, as Figure 2 and 7 -9, the retaining component 400 may also be provided with a peripheral surrounding portion 420, and the peripheral surrounding portion 420 is configured to cover the torque input elastic component 500 in the radial direction to radially retain the torque input elastic component 500, more specifically, to radially retain the torque input elastic component 500 in a manner with a gap. Additionally, the peripheral surrounding portion 420 may also be configured to cover a portion of the torque input elastic component 500 in the axial direction to retain the torque input elastic component 500 in the axial direction, preferably, such retention is retention with a gap. In addition, as shown in the figure, the radial periphery of the torque input component 100 may also be provided with an axial retaining convex edge called a first axial retaining convex edge 140 for axially retaining the torque input elastic component 500, preferably, such axial retention is retention with a gap.

[0089] like Fig.10a and 10b As shown, in a specific embodiment, the second radial peripheral portion 270 and the second connecting portion 260 of the torque output component 200 may be interposed between the retaining component 400 and the torque input component 100. This is conducive to a more stable and compact structure as a whole. Further, the torque input component 100 may be formed with an axial recess 190, and the entire torque output component 200 is placed in the axial recess 190, which further ensures an axially compact and stable structure. More specifically, as Figure 7-9 As shown, the retaining component 400 may also be provided with a third circumferential window 430 corresponding to the intermediate transmission elastic component 300, and the third circumferential window 430 is provided with an axial retaining convex edge called a third axial retaining convex edge 450. Figure 2As shown, at least the first circumferential window 130 of the torque input component 100 may also be provided with a second axial retaining ridge 150. The second axial retaining ridge 150 and the third axial retaining ridge 450 may retain the corresponding intermediate transmission elastic component 300 in the axial direction, more specifically, with a gap.

[0090] In some embodiments, Figure 8-9 As shown, the retaining member 400 is provided with notches 410 corresponding to the stop tabs, and the stop tabs 110a, 110b of the torque input member 100 can extend axially into the corresponding notches 410. This further ensures a stable and axially compact construction.
