Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application with an application date of September 26, 2022, an application number of 202222565709.9, and an invention name of “Stitching machine for stitching tire components”. Technical Field

[0002] The utility model relates to a sewing machine for sewing tire components. Background Art

[0003] WO 2018 / 111091A2 discloses a tire building machine having a tire building drum, in particular a crown drum for single-stage tire building, comprising two half-drums. Each half-drum comprises a cambered section, a turned-up section, and a bead locking section located between the cambered section and the turned-up section in the axial direction. The bead locking section comprises a plurality of bead locking members, which are circumferentially distributed around a central axis and can move in a radial direction between a release position and a bead locking position. Utility Model Content

[0004] A disadvantage of known tire building machines is that, in certain cases, it is necessary to apply the sidewall by folding it around the radially inner side of the bead, in particular between the bead and the drum. The folding of the sidewall around the radially inner side of the bead is particularly difficult because the sidewall forms a skirt along the bead, which is difficult to fold consistently around the radially inner side of the bead. This cannot be done manually. However, in the release position, the available space between the bead and the bead locking member is only a few millimeters, which is not enough to accommodate a conventional sewing roller. Therefore, it is necessary to at least partially move the half-drum apart in the axial direction to allow the folding of the sidewall around the bead. Alternatively, the sidewall must be folded around the bead on a first drum with a smaller diameter, after which the tire components must be transferred to the building drum, as in conventional two-stage tire building.

[0005] The object of the utility model is to provide a sewing machine for sewing tire components, which has improved means for applying sidewalls.

[0006] The utility model provides a sewing machine for sewing tire components, wherein the sewing machine comprises a wheel hub rotatable around the axis of the sewing machine, and a plurality of sewing sections connected to the wheel hub, distributed around the wheel hub and extending radially away from the wheel hub, wherein the sewing sections are elastically flexible relative to the wheel hub.

[0007] These stitching sections can provide a segmented perimeter that can effectively adapt to the shape of the tire component to be stitched.

[0008] Preferably, at least two directly adjacent stitching sections in the plurality of stitching sections are mutually coupled in a circumferential direction around the stitching machine axis.By making the stitching sections influence each other's flexibility to some extent, the shape of the stitching machine is deformed more evenly, i.e. there is no abrupt step between the stitching sections.

[0009] In another embodiment, each stitching segment includes a first contour segment and a second contour segment complementary to the first contour segment.

[0010] In another embodiment, each of the suture sections includes a pressing portion at their respective terminal ends.

[0011] In another embodiment, a stapling machine includes a flat stapling body.

[0012] In another embodiment, a stapling machine includes a stapling body shaped like a disk. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0022] Figure 1 3 shows a tire building machine 1 for manufacturing a green or unvulcanized tire 9 according to a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

[0023] The tire building machine 1 comprises a tire building drum 2 for forming a green tire 9. The green tire 9 is formed by forming one or more layers 91, in particular carcass layers or breaker layers, into a tire carcass around a bead 92. The bead 92 is an annular or substantially annular element having a radially inner side 93 defining an inner bead radius B. The green tire 9 is also provided with a sidewall 94 which, in this example, is applied to the carcass by being folded at least partially around the radially inner side 93 of the bead 92. In particular, an inner edge or inner end 95 of the sidewall 94 is folded around the radially inner side 93 of the bead 92.

[0024] The tire building drum 2 is rotatable about a drum axis D extending in an axial direction A. The tire building drum 2 comprises a first drum half 3 , a second drum half 4 and a central section 5 in the axial direction A between said drum halves 3 , 4 .

[0025] Each half-drum 3, 4 includes a bead locking section 31, 41 for holding a bead 92. The bead locking section 31, 41 is provided with a plurality of bead locking segments 32, 42 that can be expanded in a radial direction R perpendicular to the drum axis D to engage and hold the bead 92 at the inner bead radius B. The plurality of bead locking segments 32 can be retracted or contracted to a flush or recessed position relative to the rest of the tire building drum 2 to allow one or more layers 91 and the bead 92 to fit onto the tire building drum 2 and provide sufficient space for folding the sidewall 94 around the radial inner side 93 of the bead 92.

[0026] Each half-drum 3, 4 also comprises a turning-up section 35, 45 for folding the portion of one or more layers 91 located outside the central section 5 around the bead 92 onto the portion of one or more layers 91 located at said central section 5. In particular, the turning-up section 35, 45 is provided with a turning-up arm (not shown).

[0027] The central section 5 comprises a plurality of crown sections 51 which can be expanded in the radial direction to arch the portion of one or more layers 91 located at the central section 5 into a ring-shaped or substantially ring-shaped shape.

[0028] like Figure 1As shown, the tire building machine 1 also includes a stitching machine 6 and another stitching machine 6' located at the first and second sides of the central section 5, respectively, for stitching the sidewall 94 to the arched portion of one or more layers 91 located at the central section 5. Each stitching machine 6, 6' is mounted on a robot 100, which controls the orientation of the corresponding stitching machine 6, 6' as a whole relative to the tire building drum 1. The tire building drum 1 rotates around the drum axis D to cause relative movement between the one or more layers 91 and the sidewall 94 supported thereon and the stitching machines 6, 6'. The stitching machines 6, 6' are identical or have similar structures, except that they operate in a mirrored and / or mirror-symmetrical manner around the central section 5. The stitching machines 6, 6' move on opposite sides of the central section 5 along corresponding stitching paths P. Specifically, the stitching machines 6, 6' move along a first portion P1 of the stitching path P, as shown in FIG. Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, and moves along the second portion P2 of the stitching path P, as Figure 3 In the following, only the stitching machine 6 shown at the side of the second drum half 4 will be described in more detail. However, this description applies mutatis mutandis to the other stitching machine 6'.

[0029] like Figure 4 As shown, the sewing machine 6 includes a main sewing shaft 60 defining a main sewing axis S1. The sewing machine 6 includes a main sewing member 61, which is concentrically mounted to the main sewing shaft 60. In other words, the main sewing member 61 is concentric with the main sewing axis S1. The main sewing member 61 can rotate around the main sewing shaft 60 and / or the main sewing axis S1 for sewing the sidewall 94. A bearing 65 is provided to facilitate the rotation of the main sewing member 61 around the main sewing shaft 60. Alternatively, as long as the main sewing shaft 60 can rotate relative to the manipulator 100, the main sewing shaft 60 can be fixed to the main sewing member 61.

[0030] The main stitching member 61 comprises a stitching body having a first side portion M defining a stitching surface 62 pressed against the sidewall 94. The stitching body is preferably disc-shaped, wheel-shaped or roller-shaped. The stitching surface 62 is rounded or convex near the circumferential edge or contour of the main stitching member 61 for pressing in a radial direction R perpendicular to the main stitching axis S1 and in a direction oblique to the radial direction R.

[0031] The suturing body of the main suturing member 61 may include a ferromagnetic or paramagnetic material, such as aluminum.

[0032] The main suturing member 61 also has a second side N facing away from the first side M. At the second side N, the main suturing member 61 is provided with a cavity 63. The main suturing shaft 60 extends through the main suturing member 61 into the cavity 63.

[0033] The sewing machine 6 is provided with a secondary operating member 71. In this example, the secondary operating member 71 is a secondary sewing member 71, which is concentrically mounted to a secondary sewing axis 70 defined by the sewing machine 6. In other words, the secondary sewing member 71 is concentric with the secondary sewing axis S2. Like the main sewing member 61, the secondary sewing member 71 also includes a disk-shaped, wheel-shaped or roller-shaped sewing body. However, the sewing body of the secondary sewing member 71 is much smaller than that of the main sewing member 61, preferably at least two or three times smaller. The secondary sewing member 71 can rotate around the secondary sewing axis 70 and / or the secondary sewing axis S2, and is used to sew the sidewall 94 along the radial inner side 93 of the tire bead 92. The secondary sewing member 71 is located at the second side portion N of the main sewing member 61.

[0034] Alternatively, the secondary operating member 71 may have a function other than suturing, such as cutting, brushing, pulling, marking, or detecting. The secondary operating member 71 may be, for example, a brush or a sensor.

[0035] The following description is directed to the secondary suturing member 71, but the same features may be applied mutatis mutandis to the alternative secondary operating members described above.

[0036] The suturing machine 6 further comprises a positioning member 8 for moving the secondary suturing axis S2 relative to the primary suturing axis S1 to a suturing position or an active position, such as Figure 4 As shown, the secondary stitching member 71 partially protrudes beyond the main stitching member 61 in the radial direction R. Specifically, in the stitching position, the secondary stitching member 71 protrudes beyond the circumferential edge and / or the contour of the main stitching member 61. In this way, the secondary stitching member 71 can reach a relatively small gap between the radial inner side 93 of the bead 92 and the bead locking segments 32, 42 of the tire building drum 2.

[0037] like Figure 6 As best shown, the secondary stitching member 71 in the stitching position is located slightly off-center relative to the drum axis D. Specifically, the secondary stitching member 71 is offset relative to the drum axis D so that the secondary stitching axis S2 does not intersect said drum axis D. This ensures that only the peripheral portion of the secondary stitching member 71 that is toward and / or enters the small gap between the radially inner side 93 of the bead 92 and the bead locking segments 32, 42 of the tire building drum 2 is in contact with the bead 92, while the peripheral portion of the secondary stitching member 71 that is away from and / or leaves said small gap remains out of contact with and / or out of contact with said bead 92. This avoids forces between the bead 92 and the secondary stitching member 71 that could potentially counteract each other.

[0038] The positioning member 8 can rotate around the main suture shaft 60 and / or the main suture axis S1. The positioning member 8 can be directly mounted to the main suture shaft 60, for example, using Figure 4The bearing 85 is shown, or it may alternatively be carried by a suitably shaped edge or guide provided in the cavity 63 of the main suturing member 61 for rotation about the main suturing axis S1.

[0039] In another embodiment (not shown), an alternative positioning member may be provided which linearly displaces the secondary suturing member 71, for example in the radial direction R, so that the secondary suturing member 71 moves between a standby position located completely inside the periphery of the main suturing member 61 and a suturing position protruding at least partially beyond the periphery of the main suturing member 61.

[0040] The secondary suture axis 70 is coupled, connected to or carried by the positioning member 8 in a position spaced apart from the main suture axis 60. In other words, the main suture axis S1 and the secondary suture axis S2 are spaced apart from each other. In the spaced apart position, the secondary suture member 71, which is much smaller than the main suture member 61, can be considered as a planetary satellite member of the main suture member 61, which is almost like traveling along a track defined by the edge of the main suture member 61. The positioning member 8 is configured to maintain the secondary suture axis 70 in a direction parallel to or substantially parallel to the main suture axis 60. In other words, the main suture axis S1 and the secondary suture axis S2 are parallel to or substantially parallel to each other.

[0041] like Figure 5 and Figure 6 As best shown, the positioning member 8 is disc-shaped or has a disc-shaped body 80. In particular, the positioning member 8 is provided with a plurality of magnets 81 which are evenly and / or circumferentially distributed around said main suturing axis S1 on the disc-shaped body 80. In this example, the plurality of magnets 81 have alternating polarities.

[0042] The positioning member 8 is also provided with a first limiter 85 and / or a second limiter 86 for limiting the rotation of the positioning member 8 around the main suturing shaft 60 and / or the main suturing axis S1 to a range of less than one hundred and eighty degrees, preferably less than one hundred degrees. In this exemplary embodiment, the first limiter 85 and the second limiter 86 are defined or formed by the terminal ends of the angle slots that interact with the pins of the main suturing member 61. Alternatively, the limiters 85, 86 can be formed by any appropriately placed obstacles provided on one of the main suturing member 61, the main suturing shaft 60, the positioning member 8 and / or the secondary suturing member 71 and interacting with another of the main suturing member 61, the main suturing shaft 60, the positioning member 8 and the secondary suturing member 71.

[0043] Now refer to Figure 1 -6 briefly describes the method of sewing the sidewall 94 using the above-mentioned sewing machine 6.

[0044] Figure 1 and Figure 5The situation at the beginning of the main sewing operation is shown, with the secondary sewing member 71 in a standby position in which it is spaced apart from the sidewall 94 and does not interact with and / or press against the sidewall 94. The manipulator 100 has positioned the main sewing member 61 at the beginning of the first portion P1 of the sewing path P, in an orientation relative to the sidewall 94 such that a radially outer portion of said sidewall 94 can be pressed and / or sewn to the underlying layer or layers 91. Figure 2 The situation is shown after the manipulator 100 has moved the main suturing member 61 further along and towards the end of the first portion P1 of the suturing path P. The secondary suturing member 71 still remains in the standby position. Figure 3 and Figure 6 1 shows the situation at the beginning of the auxiliary suturing operation, at which time, the auxiliary suturing member 71 moves from the standby position to the suturing position relative to the main suturing shaft 60 and / or the main suturing axis S1. Figure 3 As best shown, the stitching machine 6 can now be moved by the manipulator 100 so that the secondary stitching member 71 follows, presses and folds the sidewall 94 around the radial inner side 93 of the bead 92 without colliding with the underlying bead lock segments 32 , 42 .

[0045] In this exemplary embodiment, the positioning member 8 is not directly driven or controlled by any dedicated drive device. Instead, the rotation of the main suturing member 61 is transferred to the positioning member 8. Specifically, the positioning member 8 is configured to rotate around the main suturing axis S1 in the same direction as the main suturing member 61. In other words, the positioning member 8 works to passively follow the rotation of the main suturing member 61. In this example, the transfer of rotation is achieved by generating eddy currents when the main suturing member 61 rotates relative to the multiple magnets 81 of the positioning member 8. The positioning member 8 is free to rotate. Therefore, it will tend to be pulled by the main suturing member 61. Thus, the positioning member 8 can be driven by the rotation of the main suturing member 61 within the range defined by the limiters 85, 86 to move the secondary suturing member 71 from as shown in the figure. Figure 5 The standby position shown moves to Figure 6 Suture locations shown.

[0046] Alternatively, the rotation of the main suturing member 61 can be transferred to the positioning member 8 via other transmission devices, especially mechanical transmission devices. For example, mechanical friction can be provided between the main suturing shaft 60 and the positioning member 8. In another example, the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the main suturing member 61 can be used to activate a centrifugal clutch or coupling.

[0047] Similarly, the main stitching member 61 is not directly driven or controlled by any dedicated drive device. Instead, when the main stitching member 61 contacts the tire building drum 2 or one or more layers 91 and / or sidewalls 94 supported on the tire building drum 2, the rotation of the tire building drum 2 is transferred to the main stitching member 61. In other words, the main stitching member 61 is configured to be passively driven by the tire building drum 2. Specifically, the rotation direction of the tire building drum 2 determines the rotation direction of the main stitching member 61. And, since the positioning member 8 passively follows the rotation of the main stitching member 61, it can be said that the tire building drum 2 indirectly drives and / or controls the rotation of the positioning member 8 around the main stitching shaft 60 and / or the main stitching axis S1.

[0048] This principle can be used to make the positioning member 8 Figure 5 The standby position and Figure 6 Specifically, when the tire building drum 2 rotates around the drum axis D in the first rotation direction R1, as shown in FIG. Figure 5 As shown, the main stitching member 61 of the stitching machine 6 rotates in the third rotation direction R3, which causes the positioning member 8 to rotate in the same third rotation direction R3, so that the auxiliary stitching member 71 moves away from the stitching position and enters the standby position. When the auxiliary stitching member 71 is to move to the stitching position, the rotation direction of the tire building drum 2 is reversed to Figure 6 The second rotation direction R2 shown is opposite to the first rotation direction R1, causing the main suturing member 61 to reverse its rotation direction to a fourth rotation direction R4 opposite to the third rotation direction R3. This causes the positioning member 8 to move in the same fourth rotation direction R4, thereby moving the auxiliary suturing member 71 to the suturing position.

[0049] The brief moment of stopping and reversing the direction of rotation of the tire building drum 2 can be conveniently used to terminate the main stitching operation of the main stitching member 61 along the first portion P1 of the stitching path P and to reposition the stitching machine 6, if necessary, so as to optimally position the secondary stitching operation involving folding the sidewall 94 around the radial inner side 93 of the tire bead 92.

[0050] It is obvious to those skilled in the art that the main stitching member 61 and / or the auxiliary stitching member 71 can be driven directly and / or individually by suitable drive means, such as servo motors. Additionally or alternatively, other means for transferring rotation between the main stitching member 61 and the positioning member 8, such as mechanical transfer means, such as gears, etc., can be provided.

[0051] Figure 7An alternative tire building machine 101 is shown, which differs from the previously described tire building machine 1 in that its stitching machine 106 comprises a disc-shaped stitching body 160 having a first side 161 and a second side 162 opposite the first side 161. The second side 162 is concave. Due to the concave side, the stitching machine 106 can be moved close to the periphery of the tire building drum 2 without collision.

[0052] The disc-shaped suture body 161 is concentric about the suture axis S. Therein, the first side portion 161 defines a pressing surface 163 arranged at a slope or inclined portion, which is inclined away from the second side portion 162 at a gap angle H in a radial direction R away from the suture axis S. The gap angle H is in the range of zero to fifteen degrees, preferably in the range of one to fifteen degrees, more preferably in the range of two to ten degrees, more preferably in the range of four to six degrees, and most preferably about five degrees.

[0053] like Figure 7 As shown, the bead lock segment 42 is retracted into a recessed position relative to the rest of the tire building drum 2. The recess at the bead lock segment 42 defines a transition T or transition edge between the retracted bead lock segment 42 and the rest of the tire building drum 2. The stitching machine 106 can be positioned relative to the tire building drum 2, for example using a Figure 1 -4, so that the concave second side portion 162 is at least partially fitted on the transition portion T. In other words, the transition portion T is at least partially received in the cavity defined by the second side portion 162. More specifically, the stitching machine 106 is positioned relative to the tire building drum 2 so that the stitching axis S is at an inclined angle to the vertical plane. In this orientation, the stitching machine 106 can extend or shovel under the radial inner side 93 of the tire bead 92 to enter the limited space between the radial inner side 93 and the recessed bead locking section 42. The inclined orientation of the stitching machine 106 also causes at least a portion of the pressing surface 163 to be inclined toward or into the horizontal plane so as to be firmly pressed against the inner end 95 of the sidewall 94.

[0054] The stitching machine 106 of the alternative tire building machine 101 in the stitching position may be in the same Figure 6 The secondary stitching member 71 in the embodiment is positioned in a similar manner relative to the drum axis D or slightly offset from the center so that its stitching axis S does not intersect the drum axis D. In this way, a portion of its circumference remains in contact with the bead 92, while other portions remain out of contact and / or out of contact with the bead 92.

[0055] Figure 8FIG. 11 shows another alternative tire building machine 201 according to the third embodiment of the present invention. The alternative tire building machine 201 differs from the previously discussed tire building machines 1 and 101 in that the alternative tire building machine 201 includes an alternative stitching machine 206 having an alternative stitching body 260. The alternative stitching body 260 can rotate around the stitching machine axis S. Fig. 9 and Fig.10 As best seen in FIG. 2 , the alternative suturing body 260 includes a hub 261 and a plurality of suturing segments 262 distributed circumferentially around the suturing machine axis S. The suturing segments are connected to and extend from the hub 261 in the radial suturing machine direction P2. The suturing segments 262 are elastic relative to the hub 261 in the axial suturing machine direction A2. In other words, the terminal end of each suturing segment 262 can be elastically moved back and forth in the axial suturing machine direction A2. The alternative suturing body 260 is flat or substantially flat and / or shaped like a disk. Compared to the suturing body 60 discussed previously, the hub 261 has a relatively low height in the axial suturing machine direction A2. Therefore, the alternative suturing body 60 can be more easily inserted between the bead 92 and the bead lock segments 32, 42. In this exemplary embodiment, each suturing segment 262 includes a pressing portion 265 at their respective terminals for pressing the sidewall 94 against the radial inner side 93 of the bead 92. The pressing portion 265 rises from the sewing section 262 in the axial sewing machine direction A2.

[0056] Alternatively, if Fig.11 As best shown, the suture segments 262 are interconnected in a circumferential suture machine direction about a suture machine axis S. Due to the mutual coupling, the displacement of the terminal end of one of the suture segments in the axial suture machine direction A2 affects the displacement of adjacent and / or adjacent suture segments 262. In other words, when one of the suture segments 262 is displaced in the axial suture machine direction A2, the adjacent and / or adjacent suture segments are also displaced. Each suture segment 262 includes a first contour segment 263 and a second contour segment 264 complementary to the first contour segment 263. Preferably, the alternative suture body 260 is manufactured by 3D printing.

[0057] It should be understood that the above description is included to illustrate the operation of the preferred embodiment and is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. According to the above discussion, many variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and these variations will still be included in the scope of the present invention.
