Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a window unit of a vehicle, as well as a method for producing the window unit for a vehicle and a method for producing the window unit.
[0002] DE 197 22 551 A1 discloses a method for producing a plastic part comprising a first and a second component made of an injection-moldable plastic. These components are joined together by an injection molding process, i.e., a 2K injection molding process. Particularly when such components are used in the automotive industry, it is proposed to produce components with a uniform core and different, solid-colored surface layers, i.e., the second component of the injection-molded part forms a colored or solid-colored surface layer. To achieve special surface structures or special color effects, it is also known that, prior to the injection molding process, a coating or decorative material is inserted into the injection mold, which is then at least partially overmolded during the injection molding process.
[0003] DE 10 2007 012 516 A1 discloses a decorative component for a convertible top compartment cover. This decorative component comprises a carrier element and a decorative element, which are firmly connected to one another. For this purpose, the decorative element has a spray boom, wherein the spray boom encompasses an edge region of the carrier element. This achieves a side-by-side arrangement of the two components, which form two different surface functional areas. To produce these functional areas, the carrier element is made of an electrically non-conductive plastic, and the decorative element consists of an electrically conductive plastic. A galvanic coating is applied to the surface of the electrically conductive plastic, so that the decorative element serves as a scuff protection strip for a seal of the convertible top.The galvanic coating does not adhere to the surface of the electrically non-conductive plastic, so it can be subsequently provided with an optical lamination.
[0004] If such a decorative material is made of metal or metallic material to achieve a high-quality surface in the visible area of the decorative part, such as aluminum or chrome, a primer must be used to bond these metal parts to one of the two components of the 2K injection-molded part. Bonding galvanized plastic bodies that include a high-quality layer of aluminum or chrome requires considerable effort to achieve sufficient adhesion, whether to a 2K plastic part or an overmolding on a pane unit for a motor vehicle window.
[0005] DE 199 19 709 A1 discloses a partially electroplated polymer molded part. This molded part comprises sections made of electroplated or non-electroplated polymer, separated from each other by a groove with a V-shaped profile.
[0006] DE 36 05 342 A1 discloses a cast part made of insulating material, which consists of at least a first molded part made of a first insulating material and a second molded part made of a second insulating material. A surface of the first molded part is made microporous and wettable by means of an adhesion promotion process, so that it catalyzes the deposition of a firmly adhering metal coating.
[0007] From DE 102 49 447 A1 a surface-metallized plastic molded part is known which comprises a plastic intermediate layer between a plastic core, on which a metallization is applied.
[0008] The invention is based on the object of proposing a window unit and a method for its production, by means of which the window units for windows on motor vehicles can be equipped in a simple manner with such a decorative part which has a high-quality surface on the visible side.
[0009] The object underlying the invention is achieved by a pane unit for a window on motor vehicles, in which a frame is provided on a pane, which frame has a frame profile and surrounds the edge of the pane on at least two long sides or surrounds the pane in a closed ring, wherein the frame is designed as an overmolding, which consists of two profile parts with a primary part and a secondary part, wherein the primary part is designed as a hard component, the dimensional stability of which is greater than that of the secondary part designed as a soft component and the primary part is injection-molded onto the fixed pane and the secondary part at least partially surrounds the primary part, wherein on an outer side of the overmolding a decorative part according to one of the previously described embodiments is fastened to the secondary part by means of an adhesion promoter or the decorative part is connected directly to the secondary part as an insert.
[0010] The decorative part for the pane unit for a window on motor vehicles has a first component forming the visible surface, which is completely covered by the second component of the two-component injection-molded part in the direction of the visible surface, wherein only the first component forming the visible surface is made of an injection-moldable plastic material which receives a high-gloss or metallic surface layer, and the high-gloss or metallic surface layer is applied to the visible side of the first component. The structure of the two-component injection-molded part and the material combination enable selective galvanization or metallization of this two-component injection-molded part. It is provided that the first component receives the high-gloss or metallic surface layer, whereas this high-gloss or metallic surface layer does not adhere to the second component. Thus, the outer surface of the second component remains free of metallic particles or surface coating, allowing for easy connection to an overmolding of a window unit. Such an overmolding of a window unit is preferably designed as a 2-component overmolding, in which a primary material consisting of a hard component and a secondary material consisting of a soft component are used. The soft component at least partially surrounds the hard component and overmoldes the primary component. The soft component consists, for example, of TPE, PU, W-PVC, or EPDM, and the hard component consists, for example, of ABS, PC / ABS, PP, PU, PA, or PVC.
[0011] A preferred embodiment of the decorative part provides for it to have an elongated, strip-shaped body, and preferably the first component forms both the visible surface and has an edge region that surrounds and encloses the second component at least laterally. As a result, the second component has a free surface only on the inside of the decorative part, which is intended for attaching the decorative part to a window unit. This allows for the creation of a visually high-quality decorative part.
[0012] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the first component extends over the entire surface of the visible surface of the elongated rectangular body and that the second component, which has fastening sections, is formed opposite the visible surface or facing away from the visible surface, in particular at least in regions on the inside of the body. These fastening sections can be in the form of ribs, sleeves, clips, locking elements, or the like, so that, for example, by simply placing the decorative part on an overmolding, fastening of the decorative part from the outside to the overmolding of the window unit is possible. Gluing or potting with an adhesive film or a plastic film is also possible.
[0013] Preferably, the first component of the decorative part forming the body is made of ABS, for example. This component is preferably suitable for electroplating to receive a high-quality surface coating. This can, for example, have the appearance of aluminum or brushed aluminum, as well as high-gloss chrome. Furthermore, a colored metallic coating can also be applied.
[0014] The second component, which forms the body of the decorative part, is preferably made of PP. This can establish a special contact with an overmolding material of the window unit, especially the soft component, such as TPE, EP, or TPS.
[0015] The design of the decorative part, in which the second component is preferably free of the high-gloss or metallic layer, makes it easy to attach the decorative part to the secondary part of the overmolding using the second component simply by applying an adhesion promoter, such as a primer. Alternatively, the decorative part can be attached to the overmolding during the insertion of the secondary part into the injection mold, thus creating a natural bond between the decorative part and the secondary part.
[0016] The first component is preferably galvanized. This allows the visible surface of the first component to be visually refined.
[0017] The object underlying the invention is achieved by a method for producing a window unit, in which a window is inserted into an injection mold and a frame is formed as a 2K overmolding, which consists of two profile parts with a primary part and a secondary part, wherein the primary part is designed as a hard component whose dimensional stability is greater than that of the secondary part designed as a soft component and the primary part is injection-molded onto the fixed window and on an outer side of the frame the primary part is at least partially overmolded by the secondary part, wherein the decorative part is designed according to one of the previous embodiments and is fastened to an outer side of the overmolding on the secondary part with an adhesion promoter. This makes it possible to attach the decorative part to the window unit in a simple manner.
[0018] Alternatively, a method for producing the pane unit can be provided in which a pane is inserted into an injection molding tool, in which a frame engaging the pane is formed as a two-component overmolding, which consists of two profile parts with a primary part and a secondary part, wherein the primary part is formed as a hard component whose dimensional stability is greater than that of the secondary part formed as a second profile part and the primary part is injection-molded onto the pane and before or after the pane is overmolding with the primary part, a decorative part according to one of the embodiments described above is inserted into the injection molding tool and the secondary part is injected to form the frame and the second component of the decorative part connects directly to the secondary part and the decorative part is back-injected.This embodiment enables a direct connection of the decorative part to the secondary part of the frame of the window unit without the additional use of adhesion promoters or the like.
[0019] The invention and further advantageous embodiments and developments thereof are described and explained in more detail below with reference to the examples shown in the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a schematic view of a decorative part, Fig. 2 a schematic sectional view of the decorative part along the line II-II in Fig. 1, Fig. 3 a schematic side view of a window unit for a window of a motor vehicle with an overmolding and attached decorative part according to Fig. 1 and Fig. 4 a schematic sectional view along the line III-III in Fig. 3.
[0020] In Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of an exemplary embodiment of a decorative part 11. Fig. Figure 2 shows a schematic sectional view along the line II-II in Fig. 1.
[0021] The decorative part 11 has an elongated body 12, which can be used, for example, as a decorative strip for a window unit 31 ( Fig. 3) can be provided for a window of a motor vehicle. This decorative part 11 can also be designed as a decorative panel, which is used, for example, in the area of the B-pillar of a vehicle. This decorative part 11 has an elongated, strip-shaped body 12. The geometry and the course of the outer contour can be adapted to the respective application. In the exemplary embodiment, the decorative part 11 is designed as a two-component injection-molded part. This comprises a first component 14, which forms a visible surface 15 on an outer side. Furthermore, a second component 16 is provided, which is aligned with an inner side of the decorative part 11. The first and second components 14, 16 have at least one area 19, by means of which they rest against one another and are inseparably connected to one another. The first component 14 preferably extends in the area of the visible surface 15 and completely covers the second component 16.Advantageously, the first component 14 also surrounds lateral end faces 21 of the second component 16, so that, for example, the second component 16 is provided embedded in the first component 14. This embodiment preferably has the advantage that edge regions that border the visible surface 15 of the body 12 and at least partially point towards the inner side 18 of the body 12 are also formed by the first component 14. Fastening elements 25 are provided on the second component 16, facing the inner side 18. These can be designed as ribs, webs, sleeves, latching hooks, clips, recesses, or the like.
[0022] To form the body 12 of the decorative part 11, ABS is used as the plastic for the first component 14. Conductive plastics are preferred. Other plastics, such as ABS / PC, may also be used. The second component 16 is preferably made of PC. Other plastics, such as PC / ABS or PC blend, may also be used. The second component 16 is made of non-conductive plastic.
[0023] The visible surface 15 of the first component 14 of the decorative part 11 is provided with a high-gloss surface layer 27 or metallic layer. The selection of the plastic material ensures good adhesion of the surface layer 27 to the first component 14. The visible surface 15 of the first component 14 is preferably galvanized. By selecting the plastic material for the second component 16, such as PC, the second component 16 does not absorb or incorporate the high-gloss or metallic surface layer 27. This enables easy connection to an overmolding of a pane 32. The second component 16 of the body 12 is preferably adapted to the material of the overmolding of the pane unit 31, to which the decorative part 12 is attached.
[0024] In Fig. Figure 3 shows a schematic side view of a pane unit 31 intended for a window on motor vehicles and insertable into a body opening of a vehicle. For example, this pane unit 31 is designed as a triangular window for a rear compartment of a vehicle. This pane unit 31 consists of a pane 32, which can be made of silicate glass, acrylic glass, or the like.
[0025] This pane 32 has a frame 33 that at least partially surrounds the pane 32. In the exemplary embodiment, the frame 33 extends along an upper and lower longitudinal side of the pane 32 and over a curved end region located therebetween. A front end 34 of the pane 32 can, for example, be designed free of a frame 33, so that a window guide web (not shown in detail) can be mounted on this end 34. Alternatively, the frame 33 can also extend along this end 34 and simultaneously form a window guide web.
[0026] The frame 33 preferably consists of a 2K overmolding with two profile parts 36, 37 ( Fig. 4) namely a primary part 36 made of a hard component and a secondary part 37 made of a soft component. The soft component has a lower dimensional stability than the hard component. The primary part 36 preferably engages directly on the disc 32. The secondary part 32 surrounds the primary part 36 at least in sections. The primary part 36 can engage the edge of the disc 32 by means of a positive connection. A primer or adhesion promoter can also be provided on one, two or three sides on which the primary part 36 rests on the disc. The secondary part 37 can be provided on a primary part 36, wherein the primary part 36 can be provided on the disc 32 with or without an adhesion promoter. The secondary part 37 can also be fastened to the disc 12 at least in sections with an adhesion promoter.
[0027] The primary part 36 can engage an inner side 39, end face 41, and / or outer side 42 in the edge region of the window 32. The secondary part 37 covers the primary part 36 depending on the application. Preferably, the secondary part 37 comprises a sealing lip 44, which, after installation of the window unit 31, directly seals against a vehicle body.
[0028] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that in the areas in which a decorative part 11 is provided on the pane unit 31, the secondary part 37 covers the primary part 36 at least in sections.
[0029] The primary part 36 is preferably made of PC, PU, or PVC. The secondary part 37 is preferably made of TPE or EPDM.
[0030] Out of Fig. 3 shows that the body 12 of the decorative part 11 adapts in its shape and contour to the geometry of the pane 32. For example, a first and second decorative part 11 is provided, by which the overmolding of the pane unit 31 is at least partially covered.
[0031] The sectional view in Fig.4 shows the decorative part 11 according to a first embodiment, in which it is attached to the secondary part 37 of the frame 33 by a primer or adhesive layer. Alternatively, the decorative part 11 can also be inserted into the injection mold before or during the production of the overmolding to form the frame 33 on the pane 32, so that upon insertion of the secondary part 37, a connection to the primary part 36 is established, and at the same time, an adhesive connection is created with the second component 16 of the decorative part 11. The decorative part 11 is preferably completely back-injected with respect to its inner side 18 in order to achieve good adhesion to the frame 33.
