Description

FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a high-voltage connector capable of stably securing a fuse without using a separate component. BACKGROUND

[0002] The statements in this section merely provide background information related to the present invention.

[0003] Recently, a hybrid vehicle was introduced that uses a motor drive source as an auxiliary power source. This hybrid vehicle can reduce exhaust emissions and improve fuel efficiency.

[0004] The hybrid vehicle can operate in an electric vehicle (EV) driving mode, which uses the engine's power only to transfer its power to a transmission. The hybrid vehicle can also operate in a hybrid driving mode, which uses the engine's power as an auxiliary power source. Accordingly, the hybrid vehicle can contribute to improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions.

[0005] The hybrid vehicle may include a motor, a main control unit (MCU) for controlling the motor, a high-voltage battery for powering the motor, etc., and use a high-voltage connector as a means of electrically connecting the individual components.

[0006] A fuse is mounted inside the high-voltage connector, which is mounted in a separate component and then connected to the inside of the high-voltage connector together with the separate component.

[0007] To replace the fuse, which is mounted in the separate component and then connected to the inside of the high-voltage connector, the separate component is removed from the high-voltage connector and then a matching terminal connected to the fuse must be loosened, which can complicate the replacement work.

[0008] The fuse can be soldered to the terminal to securely hold the fuse inside the high-voltage connector. However, if the fuse is damaged, both the fuse and the terminal should be replaced.

[0009] From GB 2 410 842 A a high-voltage plug connector is known comprising a first housing with an open rear part, a fuse provided inside the first housing, a busbar clip provided inside the first housing, the busbar clip comprising: a first wire connection hole connected to a first wire and a first fastening clip arranged to releasably secure the fuse, a busbar clip terminal arranged inside the first housing, the busbar clip terminal comprising: a second fastening clip arranged to releasably secure the fuse and formed with a clip shape, and a first terminal connectable to a power source, and a pin terminal arranged inside the first housing, the pin terminal comprising: a second wire connection hole connected to a second wire;and a second terminal connectable to the power source.;

[0010] DE 10 2013 017 106 A1 discloses a device connector to be connected to a device and male terminals to be connected to female terminals provided in the device, shielding cables drawn out in a direction different from a connection direction with the female terminals, an inner conductor for electrically conductively connecting the male terminals and the shielding cables, a fuse arranged in the inner conductor, a housing made of a resin and including an accommodating space for accommodating the fuse therein, and a heat-radiating rubber portion arranged to fill an air layer formed between the fuse and the inner wall (fuse mounting portion 18) of the accommodating space.

[0011] Furthermore, DE 11 2014 002 777 T5 discloses a shielded connector whose overall size can be reduced, thereby preventing an increase in the number of components. A shield shell includes a shell body provided on an outer side of a housing and a heat-conducting support member supporting an insulating container portion of a fuse, so that heat generated by the fuse is dissipated to the outside, thereby reducing the space between the housing and the fuse and reducing the overall size of the shielded connector. The shield shell also functions as both a heat dissipation element and a magnetic shield, thereby preventing an increase in the number of components.

[0012] JP 2014-216153 A describes a connector structure comprising: a plurality of terminals connected to electrical wires; electronic components that control external components connected to the terminals; and a housing in which the terminals and the electronic components are held and housed. Each terminal has a connecting part connected to an electrical wire and an extension part with a circular cross section that extends from the connecting part. The housing accommodates the terminals and the electronic components such that the cross sections of the extension part are arranged side by side in a substantially circular shape and surround the electronic components.

[0013] US 2012 / 0 094 537 A1 provides a connector to which a fuse can be removably attached and which can reduce components or improve reliability and shielding performance. The connector comprises first and second bus bars, a fuse that electrically conducts and connects the first and second bus bars to each other so that they are fused, and a housing that accommodates the first and second bus bars and the fuse. The first and second bus bars include tabs for a device that is inserted into the device and connected to an electrical circuit in the device. The housing has a hood part that covers the peripheries of the tabs for the device and is attached to a terminal opening 6 of the device, and the fuse is attached to a receiving space in the hood part.

[0014] Furthermore, JP 2017-004865 A further discloses a connector comprising a connector housing that accommodates terminals with electric wires; annular elastic members arranged to contact a retaining surface formed at an opening portion where the electric wires are drawn out of the connector housing from an axial direction; an annular magnetic material arranged on a side of the elastic members opposite the retaining surface; and a resin retainer that presses a surface of the magnetic material opposite the elastic member and engages the connector housing. Elastic members that elastically contact the magnetic material are provided at portions of the retainer that contact the magnetic material. OVERVIEW

[0061] The second fastening clip 141 may be in the form of a ring having an open rear part so that the fuse 120 can be inserted and fastened from the rear towards the front part.

[0062] The second fixing clip 141 may include a second fixing groove 143 formed at both ends, and the second fixing rib 162 of the first cover 160 may be supported on the second fixing groove 143 to prevent the fuse 120 fixed to the second fixing clip 141 from being separated, which will be described later.

[0063] The first terminal 145 connected to the power source can be integrated into the busbar clip terminal 140 so that the busbar clip terminal 140 can be connected directly to the power source.

[0064] The pin terminal 150 can be housed inside the first housing 110 and includes the second wire connection hole 151 connected to the second line W2 and the second terminal 153 connected to the power source.

[0065] When the screw B is connected to the nut N through the second wire connection hole 151 after the second wire connection hole 151 is arranged to correspond to the second press-fit part 113, the pin terminal 150 can be fixed together with the second wire W2 inside the first housing 110.

[0066] Fig. 7 shows a bottom of the first lid in some embodiments of the present invention, and Fig. 8 shows a cross section showing a state in which a fuse is fixed by a fixing clip and a fixing rib.

[0067] How Fig. 7 and Fig. 8, the first cover 160 may include the first fixing rib 161 supporting the first fixing groove 135 formed in the first fixing clip 133 of the busbar clip 130 to fix the fuse 120 fixed to the first fixing clip 133 to prevent the fuse 120 from being disconnected, and the second fixing rib 162 supporting the second fixing groove 143 formed in the second fixing clip 141 of the busbar clip terminal 140 to fix the fuse 120 fixed to the second fixing clip 141 to prevent the fuse 120 from being disconnected.

[0068] The first fixing rib 161 and the second fixing rib 162 may be formed at locations where they can support the first fixing groove 135 and the second fixing groove 143, respectively, when the first cover 160 is fixed to the first housing 110.

[0069] When the first cover 160 is fixed to the first housing 110, the first fixing rib 161 and the second fixing rib 162 may support the first fixing groove 135 and the second fixing groove 143, respectively, to prevent the fuse 120, both ends of which are fixed to the first fixing clip 133 and the second fixing clip 143, from being separated.

[0079] In the case where no fastening groove is formed in the first fastening clip 133 and the second fastening clip 141, a pair of first fastening ribs 161a and a pair of second fastening ribs 162a may be formed on both surfaces of the partition walls 163, respectively.

[0080] When the pair of first fixing ribs 161a and the pair of second fixing ribs 162a are respectively formed on both sides of the partition walls 163, the pair of fixing ribs 161a can press the first fixing clip 133 at both ends to fix the fuse 120, and the pair of fixing ribs 162a can press the second fixing clip 141 at both ends to fix the fuse 120.

[0081] Fig. 12 shows a state in which a second cover is separated from a second housing in the high-voltage connector in some embodiments of the present invention, Fig. 13 shows a front part of a second housing in some embodiments of the present invention, and Fig. 14 shows a state in which a second cover is coupled to the second housing by a screw in some embodiments of the present invention.

[0082] As in the Fig. 12 and Fig. 13, the second housing 170 may be coupled to the rear part of the first housing 110 to form the outer shape of the high-voltage connector 100, and the second cover 180 may be coupled to the front part of the second housing 170 to form the outer shape of the high-voltage connector 100.

[0083] (00104) The second cover 180 and the second housing 170 surrounding the first housing 110 may be made of an electrically conductive material to block electromagnetic waves generated from the inside of the first housing 110.

[0084] (00105) The second housing 170 and the second lid 180 may include a pair of shielding portions 171 and 181 respectively surrounding front and rear parts of the outer peripheral surfaces of the pair of insertion portions 111 provided in the first housing 110.

[0085] The shielding portions 171 and 181 may include a plurality of beads 173 and 183 projecting toward the first wire W1 and the second wire W2 from the inner peripheral surfaces of the shielding portions 171 and 181 to shield the first wire W1 and the second wire W2, thereby blocking electromagnetic waves originating from the inside of the first housing 110.

[0086] The second cover 180 may include a coupling hook 185 for coupling with the second housing 170 and a first coupling hole 187. The second housing 170 may include a coupling portion 175 to which the coupling hook 185 is coupled, and a second coupling hole 177 formed at a location corresponding to the first coupling hole 187 (see Fig. 1)

[0087] The second cover 180 may further include an opening 189 through which the guide portion 115 of the first housing 110 extends.

[0088] By inserting the coupling hook 185 of the second cover 180 into the coupling part 175 of the second housing 170 to couple the second cover 180 to the second housing 170, and then inserting a screw B through the first coupling hole 187 and the second coupling hole 177, the second cover 180 can be coupled to the second housing 170.

[0089] At this point, as in Fig. 14, the screw B inserted into the first coupling hole 187 and the second coupling hole 177 can be connected to the front part of the high-voltage connector 100 through the first coupling hole 187 located in a direction in which the first terminal 145 and the second terminal 153 are connected to the power source.

[0090] Since the screw B is coupled to the front part of the high-voltage connector 100 through the first coupling hole 187 in the direction in which the first terminal 145 and the second terminal 153 are connected to the power source, the screw B can be removed after the high-voltage connector 100 is disconnected from the power source to replace the fuse 120.

[0091] This means that safety accidents that may occur when replacing fuse 120 can be avoided.

[0092] Fig. 15 is an exploded perspective view of a high voltage connector not belonging to the invention, and Fig. 16 shows a high-voltage connector which is not part of the invention.

[0093] The one in the Fig. The high-voltage connector 100 shown in Figures 1 to 14 may employ an independent shielding method in which shielding wires are arranged in the inner sides of the first wire W1 and the second wire W2.

[0094] As in the non-invention Fig. 15 and Fig. 16, in the case of covering a first wire W3 and a second wire W4 with separate shield wires 260, a high-voltage connector 200 may have a configuration for securing the shield wires 260 that is partially different from that of the high-voltage connector 100 shown in the Fig. 1 to 14 is shown.

[0095] The following are components of the high voltage connector 200 that differ from those of the Fig. 1 to 14. Descriptions of identical components of the high-voltage connector 200 and the high-voltage connector 100 are omitted.

[0096] As in the Fig. 15 and Fig. 16, a first housing 210 may include an insertion portion 211 into which the first wire W3 and the second wire W4 are inserted, and a second through-hole 213 through which a screw B passes for coupling a second housing 220 to a second cover 230.

[0097] The second housing 220 may include a first extension part 221 surrounding a rear part of the insertion portion 211 and a second coupling hole 223 formed in the first extension part 221 to couple the second housing 220 to the second cover 230 by the screw B.

[0098] The second cover 230 may include a second extension part 231 surrounding a front part of the insertion portion 211, and a second coupling hole 233 formed in the second extension part 231 to connect the second cover 230 to the second housing 220 by the screw B.

[0099] The first wire W3 and the second wire W4 can be fixed with a holder 250, and the holder 250 can be connected to one end of the insertion portion 211.

[0100] A shield cover 240 for fixing the shield wires 260 may be coupled to an outer peripheral surface of the insertion portion 211, and the shield wires 260 may be fixed on the shield cover 240 with a clamp 270 to surround the first wire W3 and the second wire W4.

[0101] In order to connect the second housing 220 to the second cover 230 by the screw B, the shield cover 240 connected to the insertion portion 211 may include a first through hole 241 formed at a position corresponding to the second through hole 213 in the insertion portion 211.

[0102] Accordingly, the screw B can be inserted through the first coupling hole 233, and the screw B inserted into the first coupling hole 233 can be connected to the second coupling hole 223 through the first through hole 241 and the second through hole 213 to connect the second housing 220 to the second cover 230.

[0103] In some embodiments of the present invention, the fuse can be easily replaced because it can be attached without using a separate component.

[0104] The assembly process of the fuse can also be improved, thereby increasing product productivity.

[0105] The number of components can also be reduced, leading to a miniaturization of the high-voltage connector.

[0106] Since the fuse and wires are arranged in separate compartments, the insulation distances can increase, leading to miniaturization of the high-voltage connector.

[0107] Since the fuse is securely mounted, a fire that can break out due to a short circuit can also be reduced.

[0108] Since it is difficult to replace the fuse without disconnecting the high-voltage plug from a power source, the number of accidents can also be reduced.
