A shielding element (3) configured to be attached to a shielding shell (2) by means of a fastening element (8), the shielding element (3) comprising: a first plate section (21) which is provided with an electrical cable insertion opening (25) which projects in a first direction; and a second plate section (22) formed by bending an end section of the first plate section (21) in a second direction opposite the first direction, the second plate section (22) contains: a first end and a second end along an intersecting direction that intersects the first and second directions, a fastening hole (24) provided at each of the first and second ends through which the fastening element (8) can be inserted; and a projecting section (23) provided at the first end and projecting towards the first direction, wherein the second plate section (22) is configured such that the first and second ends diverge from each other in a plate thickness direction of the second plate section (22), and wherein a length (L2) of the preceding section (23) along the first and second directions is longer than a length (L1) of the second plate section (22) along the first and second directions.
