The thermistor must be kept in contact with the surface of the battery cell to increase the stability of the temperature measurement. Its integration into the battery module must be simplified while simultaneously ensuring the functionality of maintaining this contact state. Summary of the invention

[0007] The above and other objects, features, advantages and the technical and industrial significance of this invention will be better understood if you read the following detailed description of the currently preferred embodiments of the invention when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Brief description of the drawings Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective exploded view showing a conductive module and a temperature measuring device according to one embodiment; Fig. Figure 2 is a perspective exploded view, partially showing the side of the temperature measuring device; Fig. Figure 3 is a partial cross-sectional view showing the side of the temperature measuring device; and Fig. Figure 4 is a partial cross-sectional view showing the side of the temperature measuring device. Detailed description of preferred embodiments

[0008] An embodiment of a conductive module and a temperature measuring device according to the present invention is described in detail below with reference to the drawings. Note that the invention is not limited by this embodiment. embodiment

[0009] One embodiment of a conductive module and a temperature measuring device according to the present invention is described with reference to the Fig. 1 to 4 described.

[0010] The reference number 1 in the Fig. 1 to 4 denote a conductive module of the embodiment. The conductive module 1 is equipped with a battery module BM ( Fig. 1) is mounted in a battery module BM in which a plurality of battery cells BC are arranged (e.g., in a row) and electrically connects the plurality of battery cells BC to each other. Furthermore, the conductive module 1 electrically connects the battery module BM to a battery monitoring unit (not shown) so that the battery monitoring unit can monitor the battery states of the battery cells BC. The conductive module 1, together with the battery module BM, forms a battery pack. The battery pack is mounted, for example, in a vehicle (e.g., a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV)) that contains a rotary engine as a drive source and serves to supply energy to the rotary engine.

[0011] A battery cell BC comprises a cell body BCa and positive and negative electrode terminals BCb ( Fig. In battery cell BC, the cell body BCa has the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with six outer wall surfaces. In the majority of battery cells BC that form the battery module BM, the cell bodies BCa, which are located next to each other in the arrangement direction, are arranged such that one outer wall surface of one cell body BCa faces the other outer wall surface of the other cell body BCa. The battery module BM comprises one electrode connection group BCc and the other electrode connection group BCc ( Fig. 1) In one electrode terminal group BCc, the electrode terminals BCb are arranged on one side of the battery cells BC along the arrangement direction. In the other electrode terminal group BCc, the electrode terminals BCb are arranged on the other side of the battery cells BC along the arrangement direction.

[0012] The “arrangement direction” mentioned below without specific reference refers to an arrangement direction of the plurality of battery cells BC and an arrangement direction of the plurality of electrode connections BCb in the electrode connection groups BCc.

[0013] In this example, each of the battery cells BC includes positive and negative electrode terminals BCb on one of the six outer wall surfaces of the cell body BCa ( Fig. Therefore, the two electrode connection groups BCc in the battery module BM lie in one plane ( Fig. ).

[0014] The battery module BM includes a holding element BR that holds and fixes the multitude of battery cells BC in the arrangement ( Fig. 1) The retaining element BR is made of a metal or a synthetic resin.

[0015] The retaining element BR comprises a flat plate section BRa, which is arranged between the two electrode terminal groups BCc and extends between a battery cell BC, which is arranged at one end in the arrangement direction, and a battery cell BC, which is arranged at the other end in the arrangement direction ( Fig. 1) The flat plate section BRa has the shape of a rectangular flat plate.

[0016] Furthermore, the retaining element BR comprises a first locking section BRb and a second locking section BRc ( Fig. 1) The first locking section BRb is suspended at one end in the direction of extension within the flat plate section BRa, is positioned so that it faces a side face of the battery cell BC, which is arranged at one end in the direction of assembly, and performs a locking action. The second locking section BRc is suspended at the other end in the direction of extension within the flat plate section BRa, is positioned so that it faces a side face of the battery cell BC, which is arranged at the other end in the direction of assembly, and performs the locking action. For example, the first locking section BRb and the second locking section BRc of the retaining element BR are attached to the side faces of the battery cells BC.

[0017] Furthermore, electrode terminal BCb here has the form of a flat plate. A busbar 10, which will be described later, is physically and electrically connected to electrode terminal BCb by welding and the like ( Fig. 1) Note, however, that the electrode terminal BCb may be in the form of an electrode pole that includes a male threaded section. In this case, the busbar 10 is screwed and secured to the electrode terminal BCb by screwing an internally threaded element into the externally threaded section of the electrode terminal BCb.

[0018] The conductive module 1 comprises the busbar 10, which is physically and electrically connected to the electrode terminal BCb of the battery cell BC, forming the battery module BM ( Fig. 1) The busbar 10 is made of a conductive material such as metal. The busbar 10 is a plate-shaped, conductive component made of metal. The busbar 10 is pressed, for example, using a metal plate as the base material.

[0019] The conductive module 1 includes, for example, 10 busbars that are physically and electrically connected to a pair of adjacent electrode terminals BCb of the battery cell BC in the battery module BM, those that are physically and electrically connected to electrode terminals BCb that serve as the entire negative electrodes in the battery module BM, and those that are physically and electrically connected to electrode terminals BCb that serve as the entire positive electrodes in the battery module BM.

[0020] The conductive module 1 includes a wiring component 20 that electrically connects the busbar 10 to the battery monitoring unit ( Fig. 1) The wiring component 20 can be an electrical conductor provided for each busbar 10, or it can be, for example, a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) comprising a conductor for each busbar 10.

[0021] The conductive module 1 includes thermistors 30 that detect the surface temperatures of the battery cells BC ( Fig. 1 to 4).

[0022] A thermistor 30 comprises a column-shaped main body 31 and a temperature measuring unit 32, which is provided at one end of the main body 31 ( Fig. 2 to 4). The thermistor 30 detects the surface temperature of a battery cell BC by bringing the temperature measuring unit 32 into contact with the battery cell BC. The thermistor 30 is also provided with two electrical leads 33, which are electrically connected to the battery monitoring unit ( Fig. Note that the thermistor 30, instead of the two electrical leads 33, can also comprise, for example, a flexible printed circuit (FPC) or a flexible flat cable (FFC). Here, the thermistor 30 comprises the column-shaped main body 31. The conductive module 1 then comprises a plurality of thermistors 30.

[0023] The conductive module 1 comprises a housing element 40 in which the busbars 10, the wiring component 20 and the thermistors 30 are housed ( Fig. 1 to 4). The housing element 40 is formed from an insulating material such as synthetic resin.

[0024] The housing element 40 includes a busbar mounting device 40A ( Fig. 1) In the busbar mounting device 40A, the busbar mounting chambers 41, which accommodate a busbar 10, are provided for the multiple busbars 10, and the wiring component 20 is routed. The busbar mounting device 40A is held by the battery module BM. In addition, the housing element 40 includes a thermistor holder 40B, which accommodates the thermistors 30 ( Fig. 1 to 4). The housing element 40 is here an element formed by the integration of the busbar mounting element 40A and the thermistor holder 40B. Note, however, that the housing element 40 can include the busbar mounting element 40A and the thermistor holder 40B, which are formed as separate elements, as well as a coupling mechanism (not shown) that couples the busbar mounting element 40A to the thermistor holder 40B.

[0025] The thermistor holder 40B comprises a base section 42 which faces the holding element BR ( Fig. 1 to 4). The base section 42 extends between one end and the other end in the direction of extension of the flat plate section BRa of the retaining element BR and is arranged so that it faces the flat plate section BRa. The base section 42 has the form of a rectangular flat plate.

[0026] Furthermore, the thermistor holder 40B includes thermistor holding bodies 50, which are provided on the base section 42 and which hold the thermistor 30 ( Fig. 1 to 4). The thermistor holder 40B is equipped with the thermistor holding bodies 50 for the thermistors 30.

[0027] A thermistor holder 50 has an insertion hole 51 ( Fig. 2 to 4). The insertion hole 51 is formed in the base section 42. The thermistor 30 is inserted into the insertion hole 51. The insertion hole 51 is a circular through-hole adapted to the shape of the main body 31 of the thermistor 30.

[0028] Furthermore, the thermistor holder body 50 includes a thermistor receiving section 52, which projects cylindrically from a circumferential edge section of the insertion hole 51 towards the side of the holding element BR ( Fig. 2 to 4). The thermistor receiving section 52 projects cylindrically towards the side of the flat plate section BRa of the retaining element BR. In the flat plate section BRa of the retaining element BR, locking holes BRd are formed in the form of through holes or cutouts at locations opposite the insertion holes 51 ( Fig. 1, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4) Here, the locking holes BRd are designed in the form of a circular through-hole for the thermistor retaining elements 50. The thermistor receiving section 52 is inserted into a locking hole BRd of the retaining element BR.

[0029] The thermistor receiving section 52 is provided with a pair of cutouts 52a which are opposite each other in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder axis ( Fig. 2) The thermistor retaining body 50 comprises first locking sections 53 ( Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) The first locking sections 53 protrude from the circumferential edge section of the insertion hole 51 in the cutouts 52a. The first locking sections 53 lock claw sections 53a inserted into the locking hole BRd against the circumferential edge section of the locking hole BRd and hold the claw sections 53a on the retaining element BR, whereby the busbar mounting device 40A is held by the battery module BM ( Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) A first locking section 53 comprises a cantilever-like, flexible section 53b, which is bendable and deformable in the radial direction of the thermistor receiving section 52. A claw section 53a projects outwards in the radial direction of the thermistor receiving section 52 at a free end of the flexible section 53b ( Fig. 2 and Fig. 3).

[0030] In the thermistor retaining body 50, when the busbar mounting element 40A is held by the battery module BM, the thermistor receiving section 52 and the pair of first locking sections 53 are inserted into the locking hole BRd of the retaining element BR. In this case, the claw section 53a in the first locking section 53 receives a force from the circumferential edge section of the locking hole BRd to bend and deform the flexible section 53b radially inwards. When the claw section 53a comes out of the locking hole BRd, the bending deformation of the flexible part 53b is released. Accordingly, the claw section 53a can be captured by the circumferential edge section of the locking hole BRd. When the thermistor receiving section 52 is to be detached from the locking holes BRd, the claw section 53a is locked to the circumferential edge section of the locking hole BRd.This means that the thermistor holder 50 is held by the holding element BR and the thermistor holder 40B is held by the holding element BR.

[0031] Furthermore, the thermistor holder 50 includes a pair of second locking sections 54 ( Fig. 2 to 4). The pair of second locking sections 54 projects from the circumferential edge section of the insertion hole 51 in a direction opposite to the thermistor receiving section 52 and locks the thermistor 30 received in the thermistor receiving section 52 ( Fig. 2 to 4). The pair of second locking sections 54 is arranged such that they face each other in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder axis of the thermistor receiving section 52. The second locking sections 54 have claw sections 54a that project towards the opposing second locking sections 54 and partially cover an outer circumferential section of the insertion hole 51 ( Fig. 2 to 4). Therefore, the distance between the claw sections 54a of the pair of second locking sections 54 is greater than the main body 31 of the thermistor 30.

[0032] The thermistor 30 presses the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC by being locked by the claw sections 54a of the second locking sections 54 from the side of the insertion hole 51 at a recording completion position in the thermistor recording section 52. The thermistor 30 thus comprises locked sections 34 which are locked to the claw sections 54a of the second locking sections 54 in the recording completion position ( Fig. 2 to 4). The locked sections 34 protrude from the second locking sections 54. Then the locked sections 34 press the temperature measuring unit 32 protruding from the thermistor receiving section 52 against the surface of the battery cell BC by being positioned closer to the side of the insertion hole 51 than the claw sections 54a of the second locking sections 54 are locked at the receiving completion position in the thermistor receiving section 52 and at the claw sections 54a of the second locking sections 54 at the receiving completion position.

[0033] The interlocking sections 34 can, for example, protrude from the outer circumferential wall surface of the main body 31 of the thermistor 30, or be formed as part of a component made of a different synthetic resin than the thermistor 30 and be provided as part of the thermistor 30 by mounting the element on the main body 31. Here, the interlocking sections 34 made of synthetic resin are shown. The interlocking sections 34 protrude in segmental form from the outer circumferential wall surface of the main body 31.

[0034] One of the locked sections 34 and the second locking section 54 is elastically deformable, and the force generated by the elastic deformation is used to press the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC between the thermistor 30 and the thermistor holding body 50.

[0035] The interlocked sections 34 are designed, for example, as elastically deformable sections. The interlocked sections 34 are interlocked with the second interlocking sections 54 and elastically deformed when the temperature measuring unit 32 is in contact with the surface of the battery cell BC. The interlocked sections 34 absorb the reaction force of the compressive force acting on the second interlocking sections 54 during the elastic deformation. The interlocked sections 34 press the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC.

[0036] Furthermore, the second locking sections 54 are designed, for example, as elastically deformable sections. In this case, a second locking section 54 comprises a projecting flexible section that is bendable and deformable in the radial direction of the thermistor receiving section 52. A claw section 54a projects inwards at a free end of the flexible section (not shown) in the radial direction of the thermistor receiving section 52. The second locking section 54 locks the locked sections 34 and is elastically deformed when the temperature measuring unit 32 is in contact with the surface of the battery cell BC. The second locking section 54 presses the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC by exerting a reaction force, associated with the elastic deformation, on the locked sections 34.

[0037] Incidentally, the thermistor 30 includes the electrical conductor 33 and the like, as described above. The electrical conductor 33 and the like must be routed to the side of the battery monitoring unit. If, for example, the electrical conductor 33 and the like are arranged along the retaining element BR, they must be secured to the retaining element BR with a holder such as a clip. In this case, however, a through-hole for attaching the holder must be provided separately in the retaining element BR, which is undesirable for maintaining the strength of the retaining element BR. Thus, the thermistor holder 40B can be equipped with a retaining element that holds the electrical conductor 33 and the like along a routing path (not shown).

[0038] As described above, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment is obtained by combining the thermistor 30 and the thermistor holder 40B with the busbar 10, the busbar mounting element 40A, or the like, in accordance with a conventional conductive module. In such a conductive module 1, the side of the thermistor holder 40B to which the thermistor 30 is attached can be mounted to the mounting element BR simultaneously with the mounting of the battery module BM on the side of the busbar mounting element 40A. The conductive module 1 can then press the temperature measuring unit 32 of the thermistor 30 against the surface of the battery cell BC simply by mounting the side of the thermistor holder 40B to the mounting element BR. Therefore, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment can simplify the installation of the thermistor 30.

[0039] Furthermore, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment can press the temperature measuring unit 32 of the thermistor 30 against the surface of the battery cell BC by locking a locking section 34 of the thermistor 30 with the second locking section 54 of the thermistor holder 50. Since the conductive module 1 of the embodiment can maintain contact between the temperature measuring unit 32 and the battery cell BC, a temperature measurement result of the thermistor 30 can be stabilized.

[0040] The conductive module 1 of the embodiment, for example, makes one of the locked sections 34 and the second locking section 54 elastically deformable. The force generated by the elastic deformation is used to press the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC. Since the conductive module 1 can maintain contact between the temperature measuring unit 32 and the battery cell BC through this force, a temperature measurement result of the thermistor 30 can be stabilized.

[0041] Furthermore, the conductive module 1 can accommodate various tolerance variations, such as the dimensional tolerance variations of the thermistor 30, the dimensional tolerance variations of the housing element 40, and the assembly tolerance variations of the thermistor 30 and the housing element 40, and press the temperature measuring unit 32 against the surface of the battery cell BC. The conductive module 1 can thus stabilize a temperature measurement result of the thermistor 30.

[0042] Furthermore, in the conductive module 1 of the embodiment, the thermistor 30 is arranged between the two electrode terminal groups BCc. Here, in the battery module BM, air remains in the space between the two electrode terminal groups BCc. Therefore, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment detects the surface temperature of the battery cell BC in the space where the air remains, thus minimizing any error in the temperature measurement result of the thermistor 30 at the time when the ambient temperature in a battery pack changes. Therefore, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment can also stabilize the result of the temperature measurement by the thermistor 30 in this respect.

[0043] As described above, the conductive module 1 of the embodiment can both simplify the installation of the thermistor 30 and stabilize the result of the temperature measurement.

[0044] If the thermistor holder 40B is designed as a different element than the busbar mounting device 40A, a temperature measuring device 5 can be configured here, comprising the thermistor holder 40B and the thermistor 30 ( Fig. 1 to 4). In this case, one comprising the busbar 10, the wiring component 20 and the busbar mounting device 40A can be defined as a conductive module.

[0045] The temperature measuring device 5 can press the temperature measuring unit 32 of the thermistor 30 against the surface of the battery cell BC simply by being mounted on the retaining element BR. Therefore, the temperature measuring device 5 can simplify the installation of the thermistor 30. Furthermore, the temperature measuring device 5 can exhibit similar effects to the conductive module 1, as described above. Therefore, the temperature measuring device 5 can both simplify the installation of the thermistor 30 and stabilize the temperature measurement result.

[0046] A conductive module according to the present embodiment is obtained by combining a thermistor and a thermistor holder with a busbar, busbar mounting device, or similar element, corresponding to a conventional conductive module. In such a conductive module, the side of the thermistor holder to which the thermistor is attached can be mounted to a mounting element simultaneously with the mounting of a battery module on the side of the busbar mounting device. The conductive module can then press a temperature-measuring unit of the thermistor against the surface of a battery cell simply by mounting the side of the thermistor holder to the mounting element. Therefore, the conductive module according to the present embodiment can simplify the installation of the thermistor. In contrast, the temperature measuring device according to the present embodiment can press the temperature measuring unit of the thermistor against the surface of the battery cell simply by mounting it to the retaining element. Therefore, the temperature measuring device according to the present embodiment can simplify the installation of the thermistor.

[0047] Furthermore, according to the present embodiment, the conductive module and the temperature measuring device can press the temperature measuring unit of the thermistor against the surface of the battery cell by locking a locking section of the thermistor to a second locking section of a thermistor holder. Since the conductive module and the temperature measuring device according to the present embodiment can maintain the contact state between the temperature measuring unit and the battery cell, the temperature measurement result of the thermistor can be stabilized.

[0048] As described above, the conductive module and the temperature measuring device according to the present embodiment can both simplify the installation of the thermistor and stabilize the result of the temperature measurement. QUOTES INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION
