AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing driving devices with sealed structures face challenges in efficiently dissipating heat generated by electronic components other than the primary heat generation component, leading to reduced cooling performance and potential thermal failures.

Method used

A driving apparatus with a substrate having a conductive pattern and heat generating components connected via terminal portions, using heat dissipation members to transfer heat from both the heat generation component and other electronic components to a metal housing, ensuring efficient heat dissipation within a sealed structure.

Benefits of technology

The apparatus enhances heat dissipation for both heat generation and other electronic components, preventing thermal failures while maintaining a sealed structure that prevents foreign material adhesion, thus improving cooling performance.

Abstract

A driving device (200) that converts electrical energy provided by a power supply into motor-driving electrical energy, comprising: a substrate (1) on which a conductive pattern formed from a metal foil and comprising solder pads (11a, 11b) is provided; a heat-generating component (2) that includes pins (21a, 21b) for connection and is mounted on the substrate (1) by solder bonding the pins (21a, 21b) to the solder pads (11a, 11b); electronic components (13, 14) that are electrically connected to the heat-generating component (2) via the conductive pattern; a housing (3) formed from metal that surrounds the substrate (1); and heat dissipation elements (4a, 4b) for dissipating heat generated by the heat-generating component (2). The heat dissipation elements (4a, 4b) are in contact with the housing (3), with the solder pads (11a, 11b) and with the pins (21a, 21b).
