Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL AREA
[0001] The present invention relates to a lid device. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] In the prior art, a cover device for opening and closing a fuel filling port or a power supply port of a vehicle, for example an automobile, exists which comprises a housing mounted on the fuel filling port and a cover that opens and closes an opening of the housing (see patent literature 1).
[0003] This type of lid device generally incorporates a preload element, such as a spring, which applies a preload to the lid in one opening direction. When the fuel filler or power supply port is closed, the lid is locked to the housing, and when the operator releases the lock, the lid opens due to the preload force of the preload element. However, if the preload force of the preload element is strong, the lid can be forced open, which can reduce the service life of the lid itself and of any opening and closing mechanism. Therefore, prior art has proposed a method for opening and closing structures to make the opening and closing process (especially the opening) of the lid gentler.
[0004] In prior art devices, an oil damper is sometimes used to slow down the opening and closing process (especially the opening) of the lid. However, the oil damper is expensive and therefore undesirable from a cost perspective. On the other hand, some prior art devices have proposed a structure to reduce the momentum of opening the lid without using an oil damper; however, all these devices have a complex structure, and there is room for improvement. DESCRIPTION OF EXECUTION FORMS
[0009] A specific embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to the drawings. For the sake of simplicity, a state in which a lid 20 is in a closed position is referred to as the "closed state", and a state in which the lid 20 is in an open position is referred to as the "open state".
[0010] For the sake of simplicity, the following definitions of "front", "back", "left", "right", "top", and "bottom" are used, as in the Fig. Figures 2(a) to 8(b) illustrate this. A "front-back direction," a "left-right direction," and an "up-down direction" are orthogonal to each other. The up-down direction corresponds to an "axial direction" of the present invention. The left-right direction is a feature corresponding to a "cutting direction" of the present invention. At the time of installation on a vehicle, each of the defined directions may or may not coincide with any of the other directions.
[0011] Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective view of a rear fender 2 of the vehicle, on which a cover device 1 is mounted.
[0012] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, a cover device 1 according to the present embodiment is mounted on a fuel filler port or a power supply port (in this example, a fuel filler port 3) provided in a vehicle body, for example, the rear fender 2 of the vehicle, such as an automobile. The cover device 1 has a cover 20 that opens and closes the fuel filler port 3. A user performs a fuel filling operation on the vehicle in a state where the fuel filler port 3 is open and closes the fuel filler port 3 with the cover 20 of the cover device 1 when the fuel filling operation is complete. The lid device 1 has a locking mechanism that locks the lid 20 in a state in which the fuel filling port 3 is closed, and the lid 20 can be opened and closed, for example, by releasing the lock, in conjunction with actuating an opener in a vehicle interior or with a process of unlocking a door lock of the vehicle.
[0013] Fig. 2 (a) and (b) are perspective views of the lid device 1 according to the present embodiment, wherein Fig. 2 (a) represents a closed state of the lid 20 and Fig. 2 (b) represents an open state of the lid 20. Fig. 5 (a) and (b) are views showing a support body 20A in the cover device 1 according to the present embodiment, wherein Fig. 5 (a) is a front view and Fig. 5 (b) is a top view. Fig. Figure 6 is a perspective view of a lid body 20B in the lid device 1 according to the present embodiment, in a rear view. Fig. Figures 7 (a) and (b) are views showing an axle element 50 in the cover device 1 according to the present embodiment, wherein Fig. 7 (a) a perspective view, viewed from above, is and Fig. 7 (b) is a perspective view, viewed from below. Fig. 8 (a) and (b) are enlarged views of area A in Fig. 4, wherein Fig. 8 (a) represents an aspect in a closed state of the lid 20 and Fig. 8 (b) represents an aspect in an open state of the lid 20 (however, the lid 20 is not shown).
[0014] As in Fig. 2 and Fig. As shown in Figures 3(a) and (b), the cover device 1 comprises the housing 10, the cover 20, the axle element 50, and a preload element 60. The housing 10, the cover 20, the axle element 50, and the preload element 60, which together form the cover device 1, will now be described in turn.
[0015] First, the housing 10 is described. The housing 10 is fitted and mounted into a recessed mounting area (not shown) formed on the vehicle body, for example, the rear fender 2 of the vehicle. As in Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the housing 10 is designed in a substantially rectangular, tubular shape. The housing 10 is provided with a flange area 11 that projects radially outwards on one side (front) opposite a mounting side (rear) facing the fuel filler port 3. An outwardly projecting arm receiving chamber 12 is provided in a right-hand side area of the housing 10.
[0016] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, a through-hole 13 is provided on the front side of the underside of the arm receiving chamber 12. A pivoting section 51 of the axle element 50, to be described later, is inserted into the axle hole 13. A circumferential edge 13a, projecting downwards from the underside of the arm receiving chamber 12, is provided at a lower end edge of the axle hole 13. A housing-side retaining area 14, which holds an end 60a of a preloading element 60, to be described later, is provided in the vicinity of the circumferential edge 13a. Furthermore, a sliding contact area 15 is provided on the rear side of the underside of the arm receiving chamber 12, with which a projection 56 of the axle element 50, to be described later, is brought into sliding contact.
[0017] The sliding contact area 15 has, on the side of the closed position in a pivoting direction of the cover 20, an inclined surface 15a, wherein an intermediate position of a sliding contact with a projecting end surface 57a of the axle element 50 (to be described later) is arranged on the side of the cantilevered piece 56 (underside) in the top-bottom direction with respect to a sliding contact start position. On the side of the open position in the pivoting direction, the sliding contact area 15 has a horizontal surface 15b, which is a flat surface perpendicular to the top-bottom direction. The inclined surface 15a and the horizontal surface 15b are integrally formed.
[0018] On the side of the open position in the pivoting direction, a wall section 16 extends downwards at one end of the horizontal surface 15b. A rib 17 is provided at a lower end of the wall section 16, the extent of which runs essentially parallel to the horizontal surface 15b in the top-bottom direction.
[0019] A through-hole 19 is provided on one side of the left side of the housing 10, running from front to back. A fitting projection 32 of the cover 20, which will be described later, is inserted into the through-hole 19 and fitted. This ensures that the cover 20 remains closed.
[0020] Next, the cover 20 is described. The cover 20 is pivotally mounted by the axle element 50 and is located between the closed state (see Fig. 2 (a)) and the closed state (see Fig. 2 (b)) adjustable. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the cover 20 comprises the support body 20A and the cover body 20B. A body section 21 and an arm section 22 are integrally formed within the support body 20A. The body section 21 is essentially plate-shaped, and the cover body 20B is attached to a front surface of the body section 21. The arm section 22 is integrally connected to a right side section of the body section 21 and is curved such that it projects rearward and, viewed in the top-bottom direction, is essentially U-shaped.
[0021] The support body 20A is mounted on the housing 10 by inserting the arm section 22 from a front side of the housing 10 and receiving the arm section 22 in the arm receiving chamber 12; and a foremost end section 23 of the arm section 22 received in the arm receiving chamber 12 is pivotably mounted by the pivoting section 51 of the axle element 50 to be described later. In this way, the cover 20 can be opened and closed relative to an opening area formed in the flange area 11 of the housing 10. The foremost end section 23 of the arm section 22 is provided with a locking projection 24, which engages a locking projection 55 of the axle element 50 to be described later (see also Fig. 5 (a).
[0022] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 5(a), a forward-projecting circumferential wall area 25 is provided at a circumferential edge of the body area 21. Furthermore, a flat plate area 26 is provided in a central area of the body area 21, and a label (not shown) may be attached to a rear side of the flat plate area 26, on which, for example, the type of fuel to be supplied via the fuel filling port 3 is described.
[0023] As in Fig. As shown in Figures 5(a) and (b), a pair of reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 are provided on the front of the body region 21. The reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 are formed along the left-right direction. Specifically, the reinforcing rib 27 is formed on an upper region of the flat plate region 26, and the reinforcing rib 28 is formed on a lower region of the flat plate region 26. The respective upper surface of the reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 is an inclined surface, inclined such that a free end face of the inclined surface points downwards. The provision of the reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 in the body region 21 further increases the strength of the cover 20.
[0024] The reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 each have three L-shaped locking claws 29 on opposite sides. That is, the locking claws 29 are formed on the underside of the reinforcing rib 27 and on the upper side of the reinforcing rib 28 and are arranged at intervals in the left-right direction.
[0025] Locking claws 30 are formed on the underside of the reinforcing rib 27 and on the upper side of the reinforcing rib 28. The locking claw 30 is located at the same point where the locking claw 29 is formed, in a position that is furthest away from the arm area 22 (farthest to the left) with respect to the locking claws 29.
[0026] A recessed engagement area 31 is provided on a right side of the circumferential wall area 25 of the body area 21. An engagement projection 46 of the cover body 20B, which will be described later, engages with the recessed engagement area 31.
[0027] The rearward-projecting locating projection 32 is positioned on the rear side of the body area 21 such that it corresponds to the locating hole 19 of the housing 10. The cover 20 is held in the closed position by inserting and fitting the locating projection 32 into the locating hole 19.
[0028] The cover body 20B is larger in its outer shape than the body region 21 of the support body 20A. It is curved such that a flat plate projects slightly forward, and it is attached to the body region 21. Accordingly, in a state where a circumferential edge region of the cover body 20B projects beyond the entire circumference of an outer circumferential region of the body region 21, the cover body 20B is attached to the body region 21.
[0029] On a rear side of the cover body 20B, which serves as an attachment surface to the body area 21, two locking areas 41 and 42 are spaced apart in the top-bottom direction such that they correspond to the reinforcing ribs 27 and 28 of the body area 21. The locking areas 41 and 42 are oriented along the left-right direction. Each of the locking areas 41 and 42 has three L-shaped locking claws 43 and one locking area 44, with the locking claws 43 of locking area 41 and the locking claws 43 of locking area 42 projecting on opposite sides. The locking claws 43 are spaced apart in the left-right direction. A locking claw 45 is formed on the locking area 44 and the locking claw 45 is arranged in the vicinity of a locking claw 43 on the side of the left side area of the cover body 20B.
[0030] The engagement projection extending in the left-right direction is formed on the right side area of a rear side of the cover body 20B.
[0031] In attaching the cover body 20B to the support body 20A, the cover body 20B is first positioned on the body region 21 of the support body 20A, such that it is pushed to the left; and the rear side of the cover body 20B is brought into contact with a circumferential edge of the circumferential wall region 25 of the body region 21. In this state, the locking claw 45 of the cover body 20B is located in the immediate vicinity of the locking claw 30 of the body region 21; the locking claw 43 of the cover body 20B is located in the immediate vicinity of the locking claw 29 of the body region 21; and the engagement projection 46 of the cover body 20B is engaged with the recessed engagement area 31 of the body region 21.
[0032] The cover body 20B is then slid to the right relative to the body section 21. Since the engagement projection 46 of the cover body 20B engages with the recessed engagement area 31 of the body section 21 at this point, the cover body 20B is guided and slid relative to the body section 21. As the cover body 20B is slid to the right relative to the body section 21, the locking claw 45 of the cover body 20B engages with the locking claw 30 of the body section 21, and the locking claw 43 of the cover body 20B engages with the locking claw 29 of the body section 21. This completes the attachment of the cover body 20B to the support body 20A (in particular, the body section 21).
[0033] Next, the axle element 50 is described. The axle element 50 is pivotally mounted through the housing 10 and rotatably mounts the cover 20. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 7 (a) and (b), the axle element 50 integrally comprises the substantially pin-shaped axle pivot area 51 extending in the top-bottom direction, a mounted area 52 formed in a substantially cylindrical shape with a larger diameter than the axle pivot area 51 and on which the preload element 60 is mounted, and a substantially semi-cylindrical circumferential wall area 54 covering one half of an outer edge of the mounted area 52 such that a space 53 is defined between the circumferential wall area 54 and the mounted area 52.
[0034] The pivoting section 51 is inserted into the pivot hole 13 of the housing 10 and pivots the cover 20. The pivoting section 51 is also provided with the locking projection 55, which engages with the locking projection 24 of the cover 20. Because the locking projection 55 engages with the locking projection 24 of the cover 20, the pivoting section 50 secures the cover 20 and is prevented from detaching from it.
[0035] The circumferential wall section 54 is integrally provided with a cantilevered section 56 extending to the right and forming a cantilever arm. This section is elastically deformable in the axial direction that intersects a cantilever direction (in this example, the left-right direction), i.e., the top-bottom direction. Specifically, the cantilevered section 56 is deformed in the top-bottom direction (in this example, particularly downwards) by being in sliding contact with the sliding contact area 15, as will be described later. A projecting section 57, extending upwards towards one side of the sliding contact area 15 in the top-bottom direction, is provided at one end of the cantilever (in this example, a right end) of the cantilevered section 56. The protruding end surface 57a (top side) of the protruding area 57 is a sliding contact surface in relation to the sliding contact area 15 of the housing 10.The protruding end surface 57a is formed in an inclined shape that corresponds to the inclined surface 15a, so that it is in surface contact with the inclined surface 15a of the sliding contact area 15.
[0036] The circumferential wall region 54 is further provided with a reinforcement region 58, which is essentially U-shaped and whose two ends are connected to the circumferential wall region 54. When the cover 20 is in the open position, the reinforcement region 58 is locked to or interacts with the rib 17 of the housing 10 when a spring force of the cantilever 56 acts on the axle element 50 in the axial direction towards a fall side (in this example, a bottom side) of the housing 10. That is, the reinforcement region 58, together with the rib 17 of the housing 10, prevents the axle element 50 from falling off the housing 10. An axle element-side retaining area 59, which holds another end 60b of the preload element 60 to be described later, is provided on a bottom side of the reinforcement region 58. The strength of the axle element-side holding area 59 is increased by the reinforcement area 58.
[0037] Next, the prestressing element 60 will be described. As in Fig. As shown in Figures 8 (a) and (b), the preload element 60 is a so-called torsion spring and comprises one end 60a, which is held by the housing-side retaining area 14 of the housing 10, and the other end 60b, which is held by the axle-side retaining area 59 of the axle element 50. Thus, in the cover device 1, when the locking mechanism is released, the cover 20 is pivoted in a fully open direction due to a preload force of the preload element 60.
[0038] The housing 10, the cover 20, the axle element 50, and the preload element 60, which form the cover device 1, have been described above. The following describes a process of the cantilever 56 when the cover 20 is moved from the closed position to the open position.
[0039] In the cover device 1, when the locking mechanism of the housing 10 and the cover 20 is released, the cover 20 pivots towards the open position due to the preload force of the preload element 60. At this point, the cantilever 56 also pivots in accordance with the pivoting of the axis pivoting area 51.
[0040] Midway through the pivoting process, the projecting end surface 57a of the projecting area 57 of the cantilever 56 comes into contact with the inclined surface 15a of the sliding contact area 15 of the housing 10, and the sliding contact between the projecting end surface 57a and the inclined surface 15a is initiated. As the pivoting of the cover 20 continues, the cantilever 56 is elastically deformed and moves upwards along the inclined surface 15a to come into sliding contact with it. Thus, as the cover 20 approaches the open position, the opening speed of the cover 20 is gradually reduced due to the increasing friction generated between the cantilever 56 and the inclined surface 15a.When the cover 20 moves into the vicinity of the open position, the projecting end surface 57a moves beyond the inclined surface 15a, and when the cover 20 reaches the open position, the projecting end surface 57a is located against the horizontal surface 15b. The process of the cantilever 56 when the cover 20 is moved from the closed position to the open position has been described above.
[0041] According to the present embodiment, as described above, when the cover 20 is moved from the closed position to the open position, the projection 56 provided on the axle element 50 is brought into sliding contact with the sliding contact area 15 provided on the housing 10. That is, when the cover 20 is opened, the projection 56 comes into sliding contact with the sliding contact area 15, thereby generating friction between the projection 56 and the sliding contact area 15, and thus the impulse when the cover 20 is opened can be reduced.
[0042] As described above, the lid device 1 according to the present embodiment can reduce the impulse when opening the lid 20 with a simple structure.
[0043] Furthermore, according to the present embodiment, the inclined surface 15a of the sliding contact area 15 is inclined, with the intermediate position of the sliding contact with the cantilever 56 being arranged on the side of the cantilever 56 (on the underside) in the top-bottom direction with respect to the initial sliding contact position, and the cantilever 56 being designed in the form of a cantilever arm. From the beginning of the sliding contact of the cantilever 56 with the inclined surface 15a to an intermediate stage of the sliding contact, the friction generated between the cantilever 56 and the inclined surface 15a gradually increases as the cover 20 approaches the open position, since the cantilever 56 is elastically deformed and moves upwards along the inclined surface 15a, thus coming into sliding contact with the inclined surface 15a.This means that the impulse when the lid 20 is opened can be gradually reduced, while the load acting on the lid device 1 when the lid is opened is reduced. Furthermore, by changing the angle of inclination of the inclined surface 15a, the amount of friction generated between the cantilever 56 and the inclined surface 15a changes, and thus the impulse when the lid 20 is opened can be adjusted.
[0044] Furthermore, according to the present embodiment, the projecting area 57, whose projecting end surface 57a is in sliding contact with the sliding contact area 15, is formed at the cantilevered end of the cantilevered piece 56. Thus, the impulse when the cover 20 is opened can be adjusted by changing the amount of friction generated between the projecting end surface 57a and the sliding contact area 15 by changing the area of the projecting end surface 57a.
[0045] Furthermore, since, according to the present embodiment, the protruding end surface 57a is designed in an inclined shape so that it is in surface contact with the inclined surface 15a, the protruding end surface 57a and the inclined surface 15a are more strongly engaged with each other at the time of sliding contact, and it is therefore possible to reduce the impulse when opening the lid 20 more appropriately.
[0046] The present disclosure is not limited to the embodiment described above, and modifications, improvements, and the like may be made as needed. Furthermore, the materials, shapes, dimensions, numbers, arrangement positions, and the like of the constitutive elements in the embodiment described above are optional, and there is no restriction in this regard, provided that the present disclosure is achievable.
[0047] According to the embodiment of the present disclosure, the cover device 1, which is attached to the fuel filling port 3 or the power supply port of the vehicle and opens and closes the fuel filling port 3 or the power supply port, comprises: the housing 10, which is mounted on the fuel filling port 3 or the power supply port; the axle element 50, which is pivotably mounted through the housing 10; and the cover 20, which is pivotably mounted by the axle element 50 and is adjustable between the closed position and the open position, wherein the axle element 50 is provided with the cantilever piece 56, which extends in a direction intersecting the axial direction, and the housing 10 is provided with the sliding contact area 15 with which the cantilever 56 comes into sliding contact when the cover 20 is moved from the closed position to the open position.
[0048] According to this design, when the lid is moved from the closed to the open position, the cantilever provided on the axle element is brought into sliding contact with the sliding contact area provided on the housing. That is, when the lid is opened, the cantilever comes into sliding contact with the sliding contact area, thereby generating friction between the cantilever and the sliding contact area. With this design, it is possible to reduce the momentum generated when the lid is opened, thanks to its simple construction.
[0049] The cantilever piece 56 can be designed in the form of a cantilever arm, and the sliding contact area 15 can have the inclined surface 15a designed in an inclined shape, wherein the intermediate position of the sliding contact with the cantilever piece 56 is arranged on the side of the cantilever piece in the axial direction with respect to the sliding contact initial position.
[0050] According to this embodiment, the sliding contact area has an inclined surface, the intermediate position of the sliding contact with the cantilever being located on the side of the cantilever in the axial direction with respect to the initial sliding contact position, and the cantilever being designed in the form of a cantilever arm. From the beginning of the sliding contact of the cantilever with the inclined surface to a mid-stage of the sliding contact, the friction generated between the cantilever and the inclined surface gradually increases as the lid approaches the open position, since the cantilever is elastically deformed and moves upwards along the inclined surface, thus coming into sliding contact with it. This means that the momentum generated when the lid is opened can be gradually reduced, while the load acting on the lid mechanism when the lid is opened is also reduced.Furthermore, changing the angle of inclination of the inclined surface changes the amount of friction generated between the cantilever and the inclined surface, and thus the momentum when the lid is opened can be adjusted.
[0051] The protruding area 5, which protrudes in the axial direction towards the side of the sliding contact area 15 and whose protruding end surface 57a is in sliding contact with the sliding contact area 15, is formed at the cantilever end of the cantilever piece 56.
[0052] According to this design, the projecting area, whose projecting end surface is in sliding contact with the sliding contact area, is formed at the cantilevered end of the cantilevered piece. Thus, the impulse when the lid is opened can be adjusted by changing the amount of friction generated between the projecting end surface and the sliding contact area by altering the area of the projecting end surface.
[0053] The protruding end surface 57a can be formed in an inclined shape so that it is in surface contact with the inclined surface 15a.
[0054] Since, according to this design, the protruding end surface is formed in an inclined shape so that it is in surface contact with the inclined surface, the protruding end surface and the inclined surface are more strongly engaged with each other at the time of sliding contact, and it is therefore possible to reduce the impulse more appropriately when the lid is opened.
[0055] Although various embodiments have been described above, it is self-evident that the present disclosure is not limited to such embodiments. It is obvious to those skilled in the art that various variations or modifications can be conceived within the scope of protection described in the claims, and it is understood that these variations or modifications are, of course, covered within the technical scope of the present disclosure. Furthermore, the components described in the embodiments above can be freely combined without departing from the concept of the disclosure.
