Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a plate that is universally prepared in such a way that simple renovation as well as retrofitting of WC flushing units with concealed cisterns from different manufacturers is possible.
[0002] The term "retrofitting" refers to the replacement of existing toilets and / or their control element(s) that require additional supply connections (e.g. electricity, water, etc.).
[0003] The term "renovation" encompasses the renewal and visual enhancement of existing buildings with the option of retrofitting.
[0004] The term "mounting plate" is used below to refer to all plate materials that can be manufactured according to the invention and meet the requirements for damp rooms. State of the art:
[0005] Modern toilets have a concealed cistern, where the water supply, cistern, and drain are hidden behind a wall. The wall is usually tiled over, except for the openings for the control panel, the toilet mounting, and its water supply and drain connections.
[0006] Due to their additional electricity and water supply, technically advanced shower toilets can only be installed with considerable structural effort in conjunction with existing older concealed cisterns.
[0007] For concealed cable routing, part of the tiled area must be opened up.
[0008] The water connection plate described in utility model DE 20 2018 005 362 U1 integrates a concealed water pipe, which is intended as a supply line for an additional water outlet in the area of the push plate.
[0009] A pipe guide is integrated into the back so that the water connection plate sits flush against the wall. The original flush plate is then reinstalled in the water connection plate. The functionality of the existing toilet flush unit remains unchanged.
[0010] German patent DE 20 2006 000 682 U1 discloses a formwork device with predetermined breaking points, which enables the simplest possible implementation of prefabricated installations in bathrooms and toilets. This component is primarily used to provide secure support for wastewater and water pipes in front of existing walls, at a distance equal to the diameter of the thickest pipes, for fixtures such as wall-hung toilets, washbasins, and urinals, without the need for fixed connection / fixing points.
[0011] EP 1 916 346 A1 discloses a covering for a sanitary installation device which has at least one plate-shaped component that includes fastening means for attaching it to the installation device.
[0012] The simple attachment of the cladding to the installation eliminates the need for the comparatively time-consuming coordination of various tradespeople. This minimizes the additional time required for subsequent trades. Task:
[0013] The invention aims to provide a technically simple and therefore cost-effective solution for retrofitting existing toilet flushing units that are not pre-wired for additional installation connections. The panel is designed to be mounted to the existing wall with minimal installation height.
[0014] This problem is solved by the constructive features of claim 1.
[0015] Advantageous embodiments result from the subclaims. Example implementation:
[0016] An example implementation is described below using the Fig. 1 - 8 explained, showing: Fig. 1 Schematic cross-section of an existing toilet flushing unit with concealed cistern Fig. 2 View of the flushing unit without toilet Fig. 3 Rear view of the mounting plate with the new installation elements Fig. 4 View of the flushing unit with mounting plate Fig. 5 View of the retrofitted toilet flushing unit Fig. 6 Schematic height section of the retrofitted toilet flushing unit Fig. 7 Offset cross-section with cable routing and wall connection Fig. 8 Cover strip for cable routing
[0017] In Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic cross-section of a WC flushing unit with concealed cistern and the wall 8.
[0018] The water stored in the cistern 11 is introduced into the toilet 10 via the supply pipe 12 by means of a button in the flush plate 9 and is discharged together with the feces via the drain pipe 14.
[0019] The toilet mounting bolts 13 are shown here as wall brackets. They are equivalent to bolts on a modern, standard steel frame construction.
[0020] For the conversion of the toilet flushing unit, as described in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the toilet 10 is unscrewed from the mounting bolts 13. The flush plate 9 must also be removed.
[0021] Next, it must be checked whether the brackets installed by the cistern manufacturer and the pull rod of the flush plate allow for sufficient extension.
[0022] If necessary, these can be extended using connecting pieces or replaced with correspondingly longer versions.
[0023] The length of the fastening bolts 13, as well as the length of the supply pipe 12 and the drain pipe 14, must also be checked. Adjustments must be made if necessary.
[0024] Fig. Figure 3 shows the back of the mounting plate 1 with pocket- or groove-like milled recesses and cutouts.
[0025] The mounting plate 1 should extend from the floor to above the cutout for the flush plate 9 and be wider than the maximum horizontal dimensions of the toilet 10 to be installed. Since the mounting plate 1 also serves an aesthetic function, it is advisable to choose a harmonious ratio of height to width.
[0026] However, a shape other than the rectangular one shown is also possible. For example, a free-form panel. Furthermore, the mounting panel 1 can be designed as a ceiling-high wall element to which further wall elements can be attached laterally.
[0027] The milling in area 2 reduces the plate thickness for the cutout of the push plate 9. This makes it easier to produce the cutout on site.
[0028] The dimensions of this area are chosen to be sufficiently large so that push plates from different manufacturers do not have to be cut out of the full thickness of the plate.
[0029] Furthermore, the height of the area is dimensioned so that differences in distance between the push plate 9 and the mounting bolts 13 can be compensated.
[0030] Area 5 is prepared for the lateral insertion of a supply line and is the cuttable area of mounting plate 1. This allows mounting plate 1 to be adapted to the given floor height.
[0031] Section 7, taking into account the possibility of shortening section 5, is for the in Fig. 2 The water supply 12 and the water drainage 14 shown are sufficiently dimensioned so that no rework is necessary.
[0032] This also applies to cutouts 6a and 6b, which serve as through openings for the fastening bolts 13 of the WC 10.
[0033] Pipe channels 3 and 4 terminate in cutouts 7 and 6a or 6b. The splitting of the channels facilitates easy routing of pipes to the toilet connection points.
[0034] To prepare for the installation of mounting plate 1, cables 15 and 17 are inserted into the designated cable channels 3 and 4, depending on the requirements. The respective cable ends are led out of openings 2, 6a, 6b or 7.
[0035] To prevent the cables 15 and 17 from falling out during assembly, they are fixed using adhesive strips 18.
[0036] For the external supply line to area 5, a cutout with the dimensions of supply line 15 must be made at point 19. This can be done on either the left or right side.
[0037] Preferably, the mounting plate 1 is glued directly onto the existing wall 8.
[0038] For this purpose, adhesive 20 is applied in strips or in spots at regular intervals.
[0039] The application thickness of the adhesive 20 should be suitable to compensate for any unevenness of the wall 8 at this point.
[0040] It is essential to ensure that the adhesive used is suitable for the materials to be bonded in damp rooms, as determined by the manufacturer.
[0041] For easy fixing of the mounting plate 1 until the adhesive 20 has hardened, the fastening bolts 13 and the cutout of the push plate 9 can be used with suitable screw or clamping tools.
[0042] In Fig. Figure 4 shows the view of the assembly situation after the mounting plate 1 has been glued on.
[0043] For connecting pipes 17 and 15 to the cistern 11 and the toilet 10 respectively, the accessories recommended by the respective manufacturers should be used. A cover strip 16 (skirting board) is provided for the concealed supply line 15; this can be fitted and installed.
[0044] Fig. Figure 5 shows the final assembly state after all pipe connections have been made, the push plate 9 has been reinserted and the toilet 10 has been installed.
[0045] The cover strips 16 can be made in a color matching the push plate 1.
[0046] The push plate 1 allows the WC flushing unit to be accentuated in terms of design during retrofitting / renovation, thus leading to an optical upgrade.
[0047] Fig. 6 shows in comparison to Fig. 1. The minimal construction of the mounting plate 1 in front of the existing wall 8. The joints between the mounting plate 1 and the floor or the wall 8 are sealed with a permanently elastic jointing material 21 commonly used in sanitary areas.
[0048] The thickness of mounting plate 1 depends on the material used and the required depth of the cable ducts to be created. Brittle materials therefore require a greater covering height over the cable ducts than elastic materials. Specifically, it must be checked beforehand whether the material is suitable for this application.
[0049] The offset cross-section in Fig. Figure 7 primarily illustrates the required application thickness of the adhesive 20 to compensate for unevenness in the wall 8.
[0050] The cover strip 16 in Fig. Figure 8 shows the profile cross-section and illustrates the minimum requirement in the form of a fold on the back, which must be matched to the dimensions of the supply line 15. The thickness of the cover strip 16 should not exceed the thickness of the mounting plate 1 to avoid a protrusion. Advantages:
[0051] The mounting plate, with its universal design of cutouts and milled recesses for cable routing and openings to be created, is suitable for the retrofit described above for almost all common WC flushing units.
[0052] This allows it to be manufactured cost-effectively in larger quantities.
[0053] Further advantages arise for trade (warehousing) and crafts (assembly).
[0054] The customer benefits from the low installation effort, and the building structure remains undamaged. QUOTES INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION
