Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a tooth polishing stick for manual application to the tooth surface, in particular for the short-term cleaning, smoothing, and care of teeth without the use of toothpaste, a toothbrush, or water. The polishing stick is based on a solid or semi-solid lipid-based care composition, in particular coconut oil, which is provided in a rotatable stick casing and is activated by friction upon direct contact with the tooth surfaces. The invention represents a novel oral care product that combines four functions in a portable format: cleaning, polishing, care, and refreshment. Unlike conventional toothpastes, whitening sticks, or oral care gels, the product is applied without any aids or liquids, is completely water-free, and allows for discreet, targeted application on the go.

[0002] Various oral care products for local application exist in the prior art, including whitening sticks, toothpastes, and lozenges. However, these are mostly formulated with an aqueous or alcoholic base, require the additional use of a brush or water, and focus either on cosmetic or cleaning effects. Products that combine a mechanical cleaning action with a nourishing oil component in a solid stick format are not known in the prior art. The invention therefore aims to provide a compact, water-free oral care product in stick form that can be applied directly to the tooth surfaces and thereby provides both a noticeable cleaning effect and a protective, nourishing function.

[0003] To solve this problem, a dental care stick is proposed, comprising a solid or semi-solid plant-lipid-based composition, using coconut oil or fractionated coconut fat as the primary carrier. The composition is designed to remain dimensionally stable at room temperature but softens upon contact with the mouth through friction, forming a uniform, adhesive layer on the tooth surface. It also contains at least one functional active ingredient that contributes to cleaning, remineralization, smoothing, or odor control. These include, among others, xylitol, calcium carbonate, clay, silica, activated charcoal, turmeric, cyclodextrins, zinc compounds, essential oils, or plant extracts. The ingredients are selected to provide a gentle polishing effect without abrading the enamel, while simultaneously reducing odor-causing molecules and bacteria.

[0004] The stick is housed in a pen-shaped casing with a rotating mechanism that dispenses the cleaning composition from within the casing. The applicator head is preferably flat, curved, or slightly textured and designed for direct friction on the tooth surfaces. Application is achieved by repeatedly wiping the stick over the tooth surfaces, preferably in the front teeth. The residue can remain in the mouth or be removed with a cloth. No water or rinsing is required. The packaging is designed for hygienic closure and is ideal for mobile use. Variations with replaceable cartridges, color or shape coding for product differentiation, or a textured back for tongue cleaning are possible.

[0005] The product is characterized in particular by the fact that it combines four modes of action in a single element: mechanical cleaning, optical polishing, protective film formation, and optional odor neutralization. The combination of a solid, directly applicable, coconut oil-based composition, a selection of natural active ingredients, and targeted application without aids represents a functionally novel and practical solution for mobile dental care. The invention is suitable for use before appointments, after meals, while traveling, or as part of a natural oral care program. It can be provided as a single product or in a set with complementary items such as mouth sprays or dental cleaning pads.

Claims

[1] Tooth care stick for manual application in the oral cavity for cleaning, polishing and caring for the tooth surfaces, comprising a solid or semi-solid care composition based on a vegetable lipid, in particular coconut oil or triglycerides derived therefrom, wherein the composition is arranged in a stick casing and exerts a caring and polishing effect through mechanical contact with the teeth. [2] Dental care stick according to claim 1, characterized by that the care composition includes at least one other functional active ingredient selected from xylitol, calcium carbonate, clay, activated charcoal, silica, turmeric, essential oils or plant extracts. [3] Dental care stick according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the care composition is rigid at room temperature and partially softens at mouth temperature due to friction and heat, spreading itself on the tooth surface. [4] Dental care stick according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the care composition contains at least one odor-neutralizing active ingredient selected from cyclodextrins or zinc compounds. [5] Dental care stick according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the composition has a fine polishing effect without abrasive substance removal, and is specifically intended for polishing front teeth. [6] Dental care stick according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the care composition is completely anhydrous and contains no alcoholic components.
