Abstract
Description
[0001] MOBILE MEDIA SUPPLY DEVICE
[0002] Technical area
[0003] The present invention relates to a mobile media supply device for the barrier-free, selective supply of at least one workstation, in particular a school or laboratory workstation, with at least one technical medium.
[0004] Technical background
[0005] The requirements for modern laboratory and scientific classrooms in schools have increased significantly in recent years and are now determined by the following factors, among others: accessibility, flexibility of media supply, modularity, adaptability to changing tasks and equipment, and low provision costs through efficient use of room height and laboratory space.
[0006] Due to these factors, which cannot be exhaustively understood, concepts have been developed which enable the supply of laboratory media to school and laboratory workstations from above without floor connections. A supply from above via the ceiling has numerous advantages. Firstly, the floor area of the laboratory remains free of media connections, and this means that the school and laboratory workstations and other furnishings normally required in the school or laboratory can be relocated at any time to optimize workflows. Secondly, a media supply via the ceiling also allows for simple, subsequent adaptation of the spatial layout to changed laboratory conditions, for example if an inorganic laboratory is to be converted into a biochemical or physical laboratory. All of this can be achieved without any significant intervention in the school or laboratory room or the laboratory building. With regard to the extraction of laboratory media supplied from above via the ceiling, a basic distinction is made between two systems. First, there are route-based media supply systems, also known as service wings, which allow the supply of media to laboratory workstations arranged linearly along the route. The second category includes point-based supply systems. Such systems supply laboratory media only to one workstation or a group of, for example, two or three adjacent workstations that are spatially confined. Combinations of route-based and point-based media supply systems also exist.
[0007] Point-to-point supply systems that are attached to the floor or possibly a suspended ceiling are well known. Such point-to-point supply systems have outlet fittings that are either located at a fixed height below the ceiling (e.g., media columns) or whose height is adjustable. In the height-adjustable systems known from the prior art, the media fittings are lowered in different ways. For example, there are systems that lower the media connections using a scissor-type linkage, a telescopic guide, or a joint that allows pivoting movement around a horizontal axis, and then raise them again when not needed. In this context, reference is made to EP 2 367 248 A2 and EP 1 916 749 B1.
[0008] DE 10 2014 100 526 A1 discloses a mobile device for handling hazardous substances. This device comprises a safety cabinet for storing a hazardous substance and a device in which the hazardous substance is analyzed. The safety cabinet and the analysis device, for example, a chromatograph, are connected via connecting lines.
[0009] DE 10 2006 055 000 A1 discloses a device for providing a medium at a work table, which device has a receiving space for storing the medium and corresponding fittings for dispensing the medium.
[0010] EP 3 114 740 B1 discloses a media supply unit that can be mounted in the ceiling. The section of the media supply unit where the media extraction connections or fittings are provided can be moved telescopically and, in addition, three-dimensionally in the room via various pivot axes, so that one or more workstations can be supplied with technical media, such as compressed air, electricity, or gas, at specific points in the room. DE 10 2018 111 170 A1 describes a mobile media supply unit that has a cube-shaped base body whose surface is set back in an area where a media extraction connection is provided. The set-back arrangement of the media extraction connection protects it from damage when passing through narrow openings, such as doors.
[0011] GB 2 069 915 A1 discloses a mobile laboratory workstation that provides the laboratory worker with various connections for technical laboratory media. This laboratory workstation also features a water tap with an associated water collection basin.
[0012] DE 38 34 544 A1 describes a stationary workbench, for example, for a laboratory or workshop. It comprises a frame with a worktop mounted thereon, to which a height-adjustable table structure with storage areas, shelves, and work tools is attached at the rear. The table structure's upper edge can be lowered at least approximately to the level of the worktop.
[0013] DE 20 2005 001 261 UL describes a stationary media supply system for providing at least one medium at at least one workstation. The supply system comprises a body that can be removably attached to the floor of the room. Media lines run inside the body and are connected to connection fittings provided on the floor.
[0014] The disadvantages of the media supply systems described above are that high investment costs arise in the provision of the media supply, comparatively large school and laboratory rooms are required in cases where the media are provided via the ceiling, and, if not all media are to be kept on hand, there is unsatisfactory flexibility with regard to changing the laboratory activity in an existing school or laboratory room.
[0015] Summary of the invention
[0016] One object of the invention is therefore to provide a media supply that ensures flexible media supply at a workplace, such as a school or laboratory. In particular, one object of the invention is to create a mobile media supply that can be used flexibly and virtually safely at different workplaces, for example, in different laboratories or school rooms, and regardless of spatial conditions, while also meeting high safety requirements. These and other objects are achieved by the present invention with the combination of features of patent claim 1. Optional or preferred features of the invention are specified in the dependent patent claims 2 to 18.
[0017] According to the invention, a mobile media supply device is provided for the barrier-free, selective supply of at least one workstation, in particular a school or laboratory workstation, with at least one technical medium. The mobile media supply device comprises (i) a body mounted on wheels, which defines a cavity in which at least one media storage for a technical medium is accommodated, (ii) at least one media removal connection connected to the media storage, (iii) a media locking device arranged between the media storage and the media removal connection and which, in a first state, enables the removal of the technical medium from the media removal connection and, in a second state, prevents the removal of the technical medium from the media removal connection, (iv) a mobility locking device 120 for locking the mobility of the mobile media supply device, and (v) a control device configured to change the state of the media locking device and further lock the mobility of the mobile media supply device by means of the mobility locking device. The mobile media supply device is characterized in that at least one release device is provided which is to be actuated by a person and is connected to the control device, and in that the control device is configured such that upon actuation of the release device, the control device is caused to block the mobility of the mobile media supply device by the mobility blocking device automatically and without any action by the person, depending on the state of the media blocking device.

[0042] The figures are merely schematic representations and serve only to explain and facilitate a better understanding of the invention. Identical or equivalent elements are provided with the same reference numerals throughout.
[0043] Preferred embodiments of the invention
[0044] The mobile media supply device described below serves the purpose of making certain technical media, such as electricity and gas, available wherever they are needed, without the need to reposition, extend, or even reroute any media-carrying lines. The mobile media supply device thus represents a media source independent of a media supply installed or provided by the building, which makes any required media available for at least a certain period of time. It is therefore particularly important wherever certain media are needed but not normally available. For example, this could be a workplace, such as an office, or a school or laboratory workplace.
[0045] Preferred embodiments of the mobile media supply device differ primarily with regard to the type of medium provided and the media lines required for this purpose. The external form and basic functionality of the mobile media supply device remain essentially unaffected, as will become apparent from the following description.
[0046] Fig. 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the mobile media supply device 1. The mobile media supply device 1 preferably comprises a base body 10, which is designed to accommodate at least one media storage device. The shape of the base body 10 is preferably elongated in the vertical direction. The cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the vertical is preferably almost square, wherein the cross-sectional area of the base body 10 extending perpendicular to the vertical direction decreases with increasing height. Due to the almost square cross-sectional shape, the base body 10 preferably has four side surfaces, the vertically extending edges of which are preferably rounded. The base body 10 defines a cavity 11 (Fig. 2), which is accessible via an inspection opening 12, for example a removable flap or pivoting door, through which the required media storage device 40, 60 (Fig. 2 and Fig.4) can be inserted into the base body 10 and removed therefrom again if replacement is necessary. The cavity 11 of the base body 10 can also be at least partially closed or covered by side walls 14 firmly connected to the base body 10.
[0047] The base body 10 is dimensioned to accommodate a battery 60 with a capacity in the range of 500-5000 kWh and / or a liquid gas cartridge 40 with a volume in the range of 400-1000 ml. It is also conceivable to accommodate a compressed air tank with a volume in the range of 400-600 ml inside the base body 10.
[0048] The base body 10 is mounted on rollers or wheels 18, which are preferably rotatable, whereby tight movement radii can be achieved with the mobile media supply device 1.
[0049] An intermediate body 30, which is preferably cylindrical in shape, preferably extends from an upper surface 16 of the base body 10. A media removal body 20 preferably adjoins the intermediate body 30 in the vertical direction upwards.
[0050] The media removal body 20 is preferably cuboid-shaped and has an upper surface 25 and four side surfaces 26. The vertical edges of the media removal body 20 are also preferably rounded.
[0051] At least one media extraction connection 21, 22 is provided on the side surfaces 26 of the media extraction body 20. In the case of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the media extraction connection 21 is an electrical socket, such as a power outlet 21. Fig. 1 shows a power strip that comprises two separately usable power outlets 21. Within the meaning of the invention, only one power outlet 21, or alternatively more than two, can be provided on a side surface 26 of the media extraction body 20. Optionally or additionally, one or more of the remaining four side surfaces 26 can have a further media extraction connection, such as a gas fitting 22.
[0052] A light strip 27 is preferably provided on the media removal body 20, which
[0053] The indicator light is illuminated when a controller 100 (Fig. 7) of the mobile media supply device 1 has released a technical medium, for example gas or electricity.
[0054] At this point, it should be noted that the base body 10, the intermediate body 30, and the media removal body 20 can also be combined into a single body. A division into three different bodies is merely preferred, but in no way necessary for the implementation of the invention.
[0055] Within the meaning of the invention, the mobile media supply device 1 can provide only one technical medium or several different technical media. For example, it is conceivable that the mobile media supply device 1 provides only electricity, only gas, only compressed air, or only electricity and compressed air, or only electricity and gas, or only compressed air and gas, or even electricity and gas and compressed air.
[0056] In addition to the media removal ports 21, 22, the mobile media supply device 1 can optionally also be provided with at least one USB charging port and / or at least one LAN port, designated by reference numeral 23 in Fig. 1, on the media removal body 20. Using the USB charging port, an electrically operated device connected thereto can be supplied with power provided by the accumulator 60 housed within the base body 10.
[0057] An emergency stop switch 24 is preferably also provided on the upper surface 25, which can be pressed by an operator in an emergency to interrupt the gas supply from the liquid gas cartridge 40 to the gas valve 22 and / or the power supply from the accumulator 60 to the electrical sockets 21. The emergency stop switch 24 can preferably also be designed as an emergency off switch that deactivates all functions of the mobile media supply device 1.
[0058] On the upper surface 25 of the media extraction body 20, release devices 90a, 90b, 90c (Fig. 5) are preferably provided, which, when activated, enable an associated function, for example, power extraction from the sockets 21 and / or gas extraction from the gas valve 22. Optionally, an inductive charging device (not shown) for, for example, a smartphone or tablet can also be provided on the upper surface 25 of the media extraction body 20. The inductive charging device is arranged such that a charging surface of the inductive charging device corresponds to the upper surface 25 of the media extraction body 20. In Fig. 1, it can also be seen that a cross-sectional area Aintermediate body is smaller than the cross-sectional areas Amedia body and Aorund body. In other words, Aintermediate body is completely contained within Amedia body and Aorund body.Consequently, no aspect of the outer surface of the media removal body 20 protrudes laterally beyond the base body 10, and no aspect of the outer surface of the intermediate body 30 protrudes laterally beyond the media removal body 20 and the base body 10. In addition, a cross-sectional area Amedia body of the media removal body 20 extending perpendicular to the vertical direction is completely contained within a cross-sectional area Aorund body of the base body 10. Due to the special design of the mobile media supply device 1, in particular due to the fact that with regard to the cross-sectional area ratios.
[0059] If the intermediate body < the media body < the round body, rectangular or square tables, preferably with beveled corners, can be placed next to each other so that the mobile media supply device 1 can be positioned centrally between all the tables and is easily accessible from all of them. This is particularly advantageous in school classrooms where media are not available in all rooms and several students are to conduct the same experiment, for which all students in this group of tables require the same media.Due to the fact that the above cross-sectional area ratios apply and smaller cross-sectional areas are completely contained in larger cross-sectional areas, the mobile media supply can be safely moved from one room to another through narrow doors even by careless students or other staff, without the risk of damaging the media extraction connections and of an unintentional leakage of a medium, such as gas.
[0060] Fig. 2 shows an exploded view of the mobile media supply device 1 shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 shows the media storage devices 40, 60 accommodated in the cavity 11 of the base body 10. To provide gas, a liquid gas cartridge 40 is accommodated within the base body 10 and is connected to a gas safety technology module 46 via a pressure reducer 42 and a gas line 44. A fill level gauge 48 is provided to measure the fill level of the liquid gas cartridge 40. A gas line (not shown in Fig. 2) leads from the gas safety technology module 46 to the gas fitting 22 provided on the media extraction body 20. The gas safety technology module 46 ensures that gas can flow from the liquid gas cartridge 40 to the gas fitting 22 upon activation of the release device 90a responsible for the gas. For this purpose, the gas safety technology module 46 is connected to a control unit 48 via a control unit 49 shown only in Fig.7, which is preferably designed as a microcontroller, and is connected to a blocking device 72, which is preferably designed as a switch, more preferably as a relay, which is housed in the connection module designated by the reference numeral 70. If the state of the blocking device 72 is changed by the control device 100, the gas flow through the corresponding gas line to the gas fitting 22 is enabled. In other words, in a first state of the blocking device 72, the gas extraction from the gas fitting 22 is enabled, and in a second state, the gas extraction from the gas fitting 22 is prevented.
[0061] Fig. 3 shows a further exploded view of the mobile media supply device 1 shown in Fig. 1, but from a different side than the side from which the mobile media supply device 1 can be seen in Fig. 2.
[0062] Fig. 3 shows a rechargeable battery 60, which is connected, on the one hand, to the electrical sockets 21 provided on the media removal body 20 via a power cable (not shown), and, on the other hand, to the charging cable 52. The charging cable 52, the plug of which is shown in Fig. 4, is wound on a take-up reel 50. To charge the rechargeable battery 60, the charging cable 52 simply needs to be pulled out of the take-up reel 50 and connected to an external power outlet. An inverter 90 ensures that the direct current provided by the rechargeable battery 60 is converted into alternating current, which can then be drawn from the electrical socket 21. Likewise, the alternating current drawn from an external AC voltage network by the charging cable 52 can be converted by the inverter 90 into direct current for charging the rechargeable battery 60. The inverter 90 is preferably further equipped with a charge level meter 92, which measures the charge level of the rechargeable battery 60.
[0063] Also housed in the connection module 70 is a blocking device 74, which is preferably designed as a switch, even more preferably as a relay. The blocking device 74 is controlled by a control device 100, which is preferably designed as a microcontroller. If the state of the blocking device 74 is changed by the control device 100, the flow of current from the accumulator 60 is enabled through a corresponding power line to the electrical socket 21. In other words, in a first state of the blocking device 74, the current draw from the electrical socket 21 is enabled, and in a second state, the current draw from the electrical socket 21 is prevented.
[0064] Furthermore, a router 80 is shown in Fig. 3, which can, for example, connect a variety of internet-enabled devices (laptops, tablets) to the internet via mobile means. This is advantageous, for example, if the media supply device 1 is to be used by students outside of a school, who then access the internet using their tablets.
[0065] Depending on the number and type of media storage units 40, 60 arranged within the base body 10, the number of locking devices 72, 74 also varies. The locking devices 72, 74 are arranged between the respective media storage unit 40, 60 and the respective
[0066] Media removal ports 21, 22 are arranged and can be switched from a first state to a second state with the aid of the control device. In a first state of the locking device 72, 74, media removal from the media removal port is enabled, while in a second state of the locking device 72, 74, media removal is prevented. The control device 100, which is preferably designed as a microcontroller and programmed accordingly, thus controls various functions of the mobile media supply device 1. Details of the control system are explained further below with reference to Figure 7.
[0067] Fig. 5 shows a top view of the mobile media supply device 1, in particular a top view of the media removal body 20. Visible in Fig. 5 are the electrical sockets 21 and the gas fittings 22, as well as the release devices 90a, 90b, and 90c provided on the upper surface 25 of the media removal body 20. Furthermore, a WLAN release device 90d is visible. An emergency shutdown device 24 is also shown in Fig. 5.
[0068] The release devices 90a, 90b, 90c are preferably contactless release devices, and even more preferably RFID readers. To activate or operate the release devices 90a, 90b, 90c, the user holds an RFID chip within the effective range of the RFID readers 90a, 90b, 90c, whereby the data stored on the RFID chip is read by the RFID readers 90a, 90b, 90c, which then forward a signal to the control device 100. A separate release device 90a, 90b, 90c is provided for each technical medium, for example, electricity and gas. Thus, the release device 90a serves to release gas, the release device 90b to release electricity, and the release device 90c to release the mobility of the mobile media supply device 1.Upon actuation of a release device 90a, 90b, 90c, the symbol provided on the release device 90a, 90b, 90c appears in a specific color, which indicates the enabled function, for example, the medium to be removed. Thus, the gas release device 90a preferably appears in blue, the current release device 90b preferably in red, and the wheel release device 90c preferably in green.
[0069] Fig. 6 shows a wheel 18 and a mobility locking device 120. The mobility locking device 120 serves to prevent the mobility, i.e., the ability to move, of the mobile media supply device 1. In the example shown in Fig. 6, the mobility locking device is designed as a blocking device 120 that can block the wheel 18. For this purpose, a stepper motor 122 is provided that moves a pin (not shown), which in turn prevents a translational and possibly rotational movement of the wheel 18. To block the wheel 18, differently designed blocking devices 120 can also be used, such as mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic brakes. Within the meaning of the invention, only one wheel 18 of the base body 10 can have a blocking device 120. However, all of the wheels 18 (or only two wheels 18 located on an axle) can also be blocked by means of one or more blocking devices 120.The blocking device 120 is actuated by the control device 100.
[0070] However, the mobility of the mobile media supply device 1 can also be blocked in other ways. For example, it is conceivable that instead of blocking one or more wheels 18, the entire mobile media supply device 1 is jacked up using automatically extendable supports provided on the base body 10, thereby preventing the mobility of the mobile media supply device 1.
[0071] With reference to Fig. 7, various functions implemented in the mobile media supply device 1 will now be explained. These can also be found in the table below:
[0072] If, for example, an RFID chip is held within the range of the RFID reader 90a responsible for gas, the control device (e.g., microcontroller) 100 first checks the authorization of the RFID chip. The control device 100 can then, but does not have to, check whether the fill level of the liquid gas cartridge 40 is sufficient, i.e., whether it is above a predetermined threshold. If the RFID chip authorization is correct and the gas level in the liquid gas cartridge 40 is sufficient, the control device 100 sends a signal to the blocking device 72 (e.g., switch, relay, optocoupler), switching it to a state in which the blocking device 72 releases the gas flow from the liquid gas cartridge 40 to the gas fittings 22.Preferably, before enabling the gas flow, the control device 100 sends a signal to the mobility blocking device 120, which ensures that at the time the gas flow is enabled, the media supply device 1 is no longer mobile, preferably by blocking at least one wheel 18, more preferably all wheels 18. The light strip 27 signals the gas release in a corresponding color.
[0073] Similarly, power is released when an RFID chip is presented to the release device 90b. Here, too, the authorization of the RFID chip is first checked. If this check is positive, the mobility locking device 120 is activated, preferably with the aid of a signal from the control device 100. The inverter 90 is then switched on, the charge level of the accumulator 60 is checked, and if the charge level is sufficient, the locking device 74 is placed in a state in which current can flow from the accumulator 60 to the electrical socket 21. The power release is indicated in the appropriate color via the light strip 27.If the battery charge level is insufficient, the release process is aborted and the mobility of the media supply device 1 is restored, allowing the media supply device 1 to be moved to an external power outlet to recharge the battery 60 using the charging cable 52. When the battery 40 is recharged using the charging cable 52, the mobility of the media supply device is disabled again. This occurs by sending a signal from the inverter 90 to the control device 100 as soon as the charging cable 52 is connected to an external power outlet. The control device 100 then sends a signal to the mobility locking device 120, which then ensures that the mobility of the media supply device 1 is disabled, for example, by locking at least one wheel 18.
[0074] The release of mobility, for example the release of a locked wheel 18, is also carried out by presenting an RFID chip to the release device 90c. Here, too, the authorization of the RFID chip is first checked. If this check is positive, the inverter 90 is switched off and the blocking devices 72, 74 for electricity and gas are switched to a state in which no more electricity can be drawn from the electrical socket 21 and no more gas from the gas valve 22. Only then is the mobility of the media supply device 1 restored by the control device 100 sending a corresponding signal to the mobility blocking device 120. If mobility is to be blocked again, the RFID chip is again presented to the release device 90c.
[0075] In the event of an unforeseen emergency, the operator can press the emergency shutoff switch 24 and immediately stop the release of gas and electricity. This occurs because the emergency shutoff switch 24 sends a signal to the control device 100, which in turn sets the locking devices 72, 74 to a state in which neither gas from the LPG cartridge 40 can flow to the gas fittings 22 nor electricity from the accumulator 60 can flow to the electrical sockets 21.
[0076] In all embodiments, the connecting elements necessary for connecting the media extraction connections 21, 22 to the respective media reservoir 40, 60, such as connecting sleeves and screws as well as any necessary valves and pressure gauge displays, are not shown in the figures.
[0077] Likewise, in all embodiments, indicators can be provided on the base body 10, the intermediate body 30, or the media removal body 20, which each indicate the fill level of the respective media reservoir 40, 60. The functions listed above and in the table ensure the safety of a mobile media supply device, as only authorized persons can release the media, and the mobility lock is always activated when a technical medium is removed and the media supply device is not in proper working order. By using a liquid gas cartridge, German law allows several such mobile media supply devices to be used in a classroom. This would not be the case with a gas cylinder, as the law in Germany only permits one gas cylinder per classroom.
