Description

Title of the invention: METHOD FOR EQUIPMENT OF A PRIVATE PARKING SPACE Field of invention

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of private parking in collective areas and in particular the field of folding hoops making it possible to mark reserved spaces and prevent an unscrupulous person from occupying the private space when it is free.

[0002] For this purpose, it is well known to equip the private space with a parking barrier formed by a curved tube hoop, forming two legs articulated at their end relative to an anchorage in the ground, by lag screws engaged in a cemented ground. These articulations allow a pivoting movement of the hoop between a lowered position, generally pressed against the ground, and a raised position and if necessary. An associated leg variable in length and articulated at one end to the hoop and by its other end to a device anchored to the ground, at a location distant from the straight line connecting the two articulation devices of the legs of the hoop, ensures locking in the raised position when it is deployed. A lock locks this leg in the extended position, its unlocking allows the leg to be folded and the hoop to be tilted into the lowered position to allow the passage of a vehicle.Examples of such barriers are presented in patents FR2768163, FR2636359 or EP3346055.

[0003] Parking barriers of this type are widely used. To bring them from their lowered position on the ground to their raised position, it is necessary to bend down and raise them by hand. In addition, once unlocked in their raised position, they pivot in their lowered position, under the effect of their own weight and thus risk falling on the feet of people who have not removed their feet in time. The obligation to bend down to the ground to reach the barrier is a serious inconvenience for some people, such as elderly people in general and in particular for whom such a lowering movement is painful. In addition, the person raising the barrier risks dirtying their hands or gloves when the barrier in contact with the ground is soiled by dust and earth.

[0004] Motorized barriers have been proposed to address these drawbacks. These barriers avoid the drawbacks of manually operated barriers, in particular that of requiring their user to stop their car to manually operate the device in order to position it in the retracted position in order to be able to park, the reverse maneuver when leaving their personal reserved parking space also requiring them to get out of their car in order to put the barrier in place, use- lization which is hardly practical and wastes its user's precious time. State of the art

[0005] For example, patent FR2768163A1 is known describing a barrier for a personal parking space of the type comprising a main occupation member, movable between an active occupation position where the member extends above the space preventing the parking of a vehicle on said space and a passive parking position where the member is retracted at least in part so as to allow free access to the space for the user's vehicle, characterized in that it comprises actuating means allowing the main occupation member to move automatically from its active occupation position to its passive parking position and vice versa.

[0006] By way of example, the main occupation member is pivotally mounted on an anchoring frame of the barrier secured to the ground and the actuating means consist of an electric type jack pivotally mounted on the anchoring frame at one of its ends and pivotally mounted on the main occupation member at the other of its ends.

[0007] Patent EP1327719 describes another solution in the form of a folding hoop device for reserving a parking space of the type essentially comprising a chassis, an articulated hoop whose ends are connected to said chassis by means of two axes and two bearings, an electric cylinder actuating the rotation of said ends by means of a gas compensation cylinder and connecting rod device, an electronic control circuit and a protective cover characterized in that it comprises:

[0008] a) two gas cylinders which are arranged symmetrically on either side of the electric cylinder itself arranged in the center of the chassis and which are each connected, in an articulated manner, on one side, to a connecting rod placed at each end of the arch;

[0009] b) two articulated arms each connected, at one end, to the other side of the corresponding lateral gas cylinder and, at the other end, which is common to them, to the central electric cylinder.

[0010] Patent FR2790017 proposes another solution for a reservation device where

[0011] the connection connecting the motor to the axis carrying the arm comprises an axis connected to the arm mobile comprising a locking housing associated with its active position, a lock carried by a lever pressing against the contour of the axis on the trajectory of the locking housing to enter this housing when the axis arrives in the active position, and a driving pinion, carried integrally in rotation by the output of the motor. The motor has a non-toothed sector corresponding to the lifting stroke of the lock, a cam to cooperate with the lever of the lock and lift it to release the lock from its shaft housing and a driven pinion, mounted freely rotatable on the shaft and meshing with the driving pinion connected to the shaft by an indexed, disengageable, threshold connection, the non-toothed sector of the driving pinion being opposite the driven pinion when the shaft is in the active position, the lock

[0012] being engaged in its housing in the axis. Disadvantages of the prior art

[0013] There are in fact a very large number of motorized parking barrier solutions which are certainly attractive in theory, but which are not adapted to the need to equip existing parking areas, generally already equipped with manual barriers. Equipping such a site requires significant work to unseale the existing manual barriers, retread the coating to close the sealing points, reinstall new barriers, install an electrical supply circuit, etc. The cost and scale of such work is out of proportion to the benefit received by the parking operator or by the holders of private spaces. Solution provided by the invention

[0014] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by firstly proposing a method for equipping a private parking space equipped with a barrier formed by a barrier formed by a hoop and a locking leg, the orientation of said hoop relative to the ground being manually modifiable in the unlocked state between a lowered position and a raised position, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: • Disassembly and removal of the said locking leg and conservation of the hoop and its anchoring • Attachment of the upper part of a motorized jack to the transverse part of said hoop by a pivoting connection • Anchoring the lower part of said motorized jack to the ground with a pivoting connection

[0015] said motorized jack comprising an electronic circuit for remote control of said electric motor.

[0016] Preferably, said motorized cylinder also comprises an electric battery.

[0017] According to a first variant, the ground anchoring step consists of articulating the lower part of said motorized jack on the original anchoring shoe.

[0018] According to a second variant, the ground anchoring step consists of fixing on the anchoring points of the original anchoring plate of said removed locking leg a pivoting base relative to the lower end of said motorized jack, having a plurality of cross-shaped holes for the passage of anchoring screws.

[0019] The invention also relates to a motorized cylinder for the automatic control of a barrier formed by a hoop and a locking leg, the legs of which and the hoop of which are originally intended for manual modification, in the unlocked state, of the orientation between a lowered position and a raised position, characterized in that it is constituted by an autonomous element comprising a motorized cylinder having: • a lower end capable of being pivotally articulated relative to a ground anchoring means, and • an upper end configured for a pivoting articulated connection with the transverse part of said hoop • said motorized jack further comprising an electric motor controlling the relative movement to modify the distance between said first end and said second end and an electronic circuit for remote control of said electric motor.

[0020] Advantageously, said motorized jack comprises an electric battery.

[0021] According to a variant, it comprises a retractable lower tube and an upper tube having at its end a middle shell or two lateral shells capable of being positioned around the cross section of the arch.

[0022] According to a variant, said upper tube serves as a housing for an electric battery and an electronic remote control module, with an antenna passing through the wall of the tube.

[0023] According to another variant, it comprises a motorized system ensuring the control of the erection and reduction of the length of the leg, composed of a worm screw driven by an electric motor.

[0024] Advantageously, said electric motor is constituted by a brushless stepper type motor, with a rotor having an internal thread complementary to that of the worm screw, said rotor comprising permanent magnets and being positioned inside a wound stator yoke.

[0025] According to a variant, the connection between the end of said worm screw and the lower tube is ensured by a lockable bearing allowing in the unlocked position a translational movement authorizing the manual movement of the lower tube relative to the upper tube.

[0026] Preferably, said ground anchoring means consists of a base pivoting relative to said lower end of said motorized jack, having a plurality of cross-shaped holes for the passage of anchoring screws.

[0027] Preferably, said motorized cylinder has a retracted length of between 550 mm and 600 mm, and a stroke of between 400 and 500 mm.

[0037] [Fig.8] [Fig.8] represents a perspective view of a barrier reconfigured according to the invention in the lowered position. General principle of the invention

[0038] The present invention relates to a method for reconfiguring a parking area comprising private parking spaces, already equipped with manual parking barriers, while limiting infrastructure work to a minimum and preserving the means already installed as much as possible.

[0039] The invention consists of preserving the greater part of the barrier in place, and in particular the arch and its ground anchoring system, and removing only the locking leg, while retaining the ground anchoring means, then replacing the manual leg with a motorized jack (60) incorporating an electric battery to allow autonomous operation, without connection to an electrical network, and a remote control module.

[0040] This process avoids heavy civil engineering work that would be involved in dismantling a manual barrier and replacing it with a motorized barrier. Presentation of an existing barrier

[0041] [Fig.l] shows in general terms a parking barrier, which comprises a structure in the form of an arch (1) which is articulated at the free ends of its legs (2) to anchor plates (3) fixed to the ground, by lag screws engaged in the cement ground, with an articulation allowing the arch to pivot around the horizontal axes (4) between a raised position shown in continuous lines and a lowered position where the arch is pressed against the ground, as illustrated in broken lines in [Fig.l]. The parking barriers fitted to most parking lots also include a locking member made in the form of a leg (6) of variable length, made in the form of a telescopic tube.

[0042] This locking leg is articulated by means of a collar-shaped element (7) to the horizontal part of the barrier. The other end of the locking leg (6) is pivotally mounted around a horizontal axis (8) articulated relative to a shoe (9) anchored to the ground. The latter is located at a certain distance from the straight line connecting the two anchoring plates (3). Thus, when the arch (1) pivots, the telescopic leg (6) varies in length, as is clearly shown in [Fig. 1]. A lock (10) makes it possible to lock the two telescopic elements of the leg in the raised position of the arch. The structure of the barrier, which has just been described so far, is known per se. Principle of the invention

[0043] The principle of the invention is to retain part of a manual barrier already installed on a private parking space to avoid any public works or masonry work and while essentially preserving the existing infrastructure.

[0044] To this end, the invention consists of removing the retractable leg (6) from a barrier installed in a private location without intervening on the shoe (9) or on the arch (1), and replacing it with an autonomous motorized leg, comprising an electric motor powered by a battery housed in the leg, and an electronic remote control circuit.

[0045] This motorized retractable leg comprises a lower attachment adaptable to a shoe (9) or any ground anchor, and an upper attachment formed by a shell configured to surround the middle part of the arch (1).

[0046] The invention also relates to a motorized retractable leg intended for the reconfiguration of an already installed parking barrier.

[0047] Description of an exemplary embodiment of a retractable leg

[0048] [Fig.2] represents a sectional view of an exemplary embodiment of a retractable leg according to the invention.

[0049] It consists of two tubes (100, 200) of complementary section, square, rectangular or round, to allow the lower tube (200) to slide into the upper tube (100).

[0050] The length of the tubes is determined so as to have a length LJR for the raised position of the hoop (1) and a length LJA for the lowered position of the hoop.

[0051] As an example, for a standard hoop, the height (length of the legs (2) is of the order of 450 millimeters and the offset D between the shoe (9) for fixing the leg retractable (6) and the attachment points of the legs (2) of the arch is 400 millimeters. In this case, the retractable leg allows a variation in length with an amplitude C of 250 millimeters, with a length LRJ of 600 millimeters and a length LJA of 850 millimeters.

[0052] To allow adaptation to different configurations of hoops already installed, the retractable leg according to the invention has a greater stroke C, for example 400 millimeters with a limitation fixed by an end-of-stroke control of the drive system.

[0053] The lower tube (200) has at its end lugs (210, 220) for coupling with a shoe (9) already fixed to the ground. It can optionally be completed with a shoe having a plate provided with holes allowing the shoe lag screws (9) of the reconfigured barrier to be reused.

[0054] The tube (100) has at its end a middle shell or two lateral shells (110, 120) which can be positioned around the cross-section (5) of the hoop (1). These shells (110, 120) are for example formed of two semi-cylindrical parts, with a cut-out having a section slightly greater than that of the tube forming the hoop (1), these two parts being assembled after positioning around the hoop by a rivet, or any other connection system, preferably not removable.

[0055] These shells make it possible to connect the upper tube (100) with the hoop (1) already anchored to the ground without degradation. The connection preserves a degree of freedom in rotation.

[0056] The upper tube (100) serves as a housing for an electric battery (130) and an electronic remote control module (140), with an antenna (145) passing through the wall of the tube (110).

[0057] The motorized system ensuring the control of the erection and reduction of the length of the leg (6) is composed of a worm screw (150) driven by an electric motor (160). The electric motor (160) in the example describes a brushless stepper type motor, with a rotor (161) having an internal thread complementary to that of the worm screw (150). This rotor (161) comprises permanent magnets and is positioned inside a wound stator yoke (162).

[0058] The worm screw (150) is connected to the free end of the lower tube (200) by a bearing allowing only one degree of freedom in rotation.

[0059] Optionally, the connection between the end of the worm screw (150) is provided by a lockable bearing. In the locked position, it only allows rotation, and in the unlocked position, it also allows translational movement, which makes it possible to manually move the lower tube (200), for example in the event of a failure of the motorized system.

[0060] Other motorization solutions are possible for the implementation of the invention, for example an articulated arm by folding, with a motorization of the folding axis. Detailed example of implementation

[0061] [Fig.4] illustrates the dimensioning of a reconfigured barrier according to the invention. The height of the barrier is determined by the usual dimensioning of manual barrier hoops, which is typically around 450 mm. The distance between the front and rear ground anchors is typically around 370 mm.

[0062] The cylinder (60) has a length of 582 mm in the retracted position and forms an angle of 50.6° with respect to the ground, which ensures good resistance to the thrust on the hoop. The hoop is lowered by actuating the motorized cylinder (60) which then extends to a length of 820 mm.

[0063] [Fig.6] represents a perspective view of a non-limiting example of a sheave lisation of a base (9) for anchoring the lower end of the motorized jack (60) to the ground. It consists of a part forming a base (90) extended at its upper surface by two pivots (91; 92) intended to support a pivot axis of the lower part of the motorized jack (60). The base (90) has four cross-shaped holes (93 to 96), allowing the passage of lag screws for anchoring to the ground or screws for connection with an anchoring plate previously installed for the manual locking leg. The cross shape allows adaptation to different dimensions of the pre-existing anchoring means. This base can be produced by metal casting or by machining and assembly by welding.

[0064] [Fig.7] shows a pivoting connecting shell for the connection between the upper end of the motorized cylinder (60) and the crossbar of a pre-existing hoop. It consists of two semi-tubular parts (70, 71) extended on either side by connecting lugs (73, 74; 75, 76). One of the parts (70) is extended by two lugs (77, 78) intended to support a pivot axis of the upper part of the motorized cylinder (60).

[0065] The two parts (70, 71) can be positioned to surround the crossbar (5) of the hoop, and then joined by bolts passing through the connecting tabs (73, 74; 75, 76) so as to form a sleeve surrounding the crossbar (5) while preserving a clearance allowing rotation of the bar relative to this connecting shell.

[0066] Figures 7 and 8 correspond to perspective views of the reconfigured barrier in the raised and lowered position respectively. The jack (60) is associated at its lower part with a housing (65) containing the electric battery and the electronic circuits comprising the radiofrequency remote control module.

[0067] Optionally, a stop (67) is fixed to the ground to limit the movement of the hoop and prevent the crossbar (5) from coming into contact with the ground, in order to maintain a slight angle between the axis of the motorized jack and the horizontal plane. This stop (67) has a height of 10 to 60 mm; it is glued to the ground or fixed with lag screws.

[0068] This stop (67) can alternatively be fixed on the connecting shell of the motorized cylinder (60) with the transverse bar (5) or even be formed of two stops fixed on the transverse bar (5) on either side of the connecting shell of the motorized cylinder (60).
