Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Anti-trapping motor vehicle front hood lining and manufacturing method
[0001] The invention relates to the field of motor vehicle openings. More specifically, the invention relates to motor vehicle opening reinforcement linings. In particular, the invention relates to the handling and storage of motor vehicle opening reinforcement linings. The subject of the invention is a motor vehicle opening reinforcement lining. The subject of the invention is also a motor vehicle opening. The subject of the invention is also a motor vehicle. The subject of the invention is also a method for manufacturing a motor vehicle opening lining.
[0002] A motor vehicle comprises several openings mounted to pivot relative to the body. These openings generally comprise an outer skin and a reinforcing lining making it possible to stiffen the outer skin when they are welded to each other, that is to say from the time of fitting.
[0003] The lining is generally formed from a stamped sheet with a contour similar to that of the outer skin. At its core, the stamped sheet has profiles and openings. Thus, the stamped sheet shows concave surfaces and convex surfaces along the faces. It also includes fixing means for members such as pivot connections or lock elements.
[0004] Document FR3109356A1 describes a motor vehicle comprising an opening, such as an engine hood. The front opening has an outer wall with two opposite side edges; and a lining fixed against an inner face of the outer wall. The hood further comprising: a lateral extension support adjacent to each of the two opposite side edges of the outer wall; and a trim fixed to each of the two lateral extension supports. This hood makes it possible to laterally increase the size of the hood while respecting the stamping constraints.
[0005] The automotive industry relies on streamlining each of its stages in a context of large-scale production. Vehicles are commonly produced in quantities of tens of thousands. To facilitate their transport, the stamped sheets are stacked on top of each other to form a compact unit, making them easier to handle.
[0006] However, during their transport phases, the stamped sheets are likely to fit into each other within their stack. Indeed, the concave surfaces fit into the convex surfaces, which jams the stamped sheets. A robotic arm or an operator then encounters difficulties in extracting the sheets dented from their transport stack. Additional effort is required to recover them. There is therefore a need to facilitate the handling of a stack of opening linings.
[0007] The invention aims to address at least one of the problems or drawbacks encountered in the prior art. In particular, the invention aims to facilitate the handling of a motor vehicle opening lining. The invention also aims to reduce the risk of stacked opening linings jamming while optimizing the mass.

[0009] In a stacked configuration, the straight stop tabs push the reinforcement liners away from each other. Thus, the positioning of the reinforcement liners remains controlled despite the load increasing towards the bottom of the vertical stack. The problem of jamming between the reinforcement liners is controlled despite their complex geometry.

[0046] [Fig.5] is a diagram of a manufacturing process for an opening lining of a motor vehicle according to the invention.
[0047] In the following description, the term "comprise" is synonymous with "include" and is not limiting in that it allows the presence of other elements in the reinforcement liner, the motor vehicle or other steps in the manufacturing process to which it relates. It is understood that the term "comprise" includes the terms "consist of". The terms "external" and "internal" will refer respectively to that which is oriented towards the outside of the vehicle and towards the inside of the vehicle.
[0048] In the present description, the term “longitudinal”, the term “longitudinally”, the term “transverse”, and the term “transversely” are used according to the reference frame of the vehicle, in the mounting configuration. The term “longitudinal” corresponds to the main direction of movement of the vehicle. The term “transverse” corresponds to a direction perpendicular to the main direction of movement of the vehicle. The term “front” refers to the main direction of movement of the vehicle. The term “rear” designates the opposite of the front of the vehicle.
[0049] The X axis represents the longitudinal direction, the Y axis represents the transverse direction, and the Z axis represents the vertical direction of the motor vehicle. These three axes define a direct trihedron whose orientation is preserved throughout the figures.
[0050] In the present description, the ranges of values include the limits which delimit them.
[0051] In the present description, the technical characteristics are defined in the mounting configuration of the reinforcement liner, unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.
[0052] Throughout the description, the different figures use the same reference signs to designate identical or similar entities.
[0053] [Fig.l] represents a motor vehicle 10 according to the invention. The motor vehicle 10 comprises energy storage means and at least one motor (not shown) adapted to drive said motor vehicle 10.
[0054] The motor vehicle 10 comprises a structure 12. The structure 12 forms an outer body, or a main frame of the motor vehicle. It is formed from an assembly of stamped metal sheets assembled by welding. The structure 12 supports various components of the motor vehicle including the engine, the running gear and the suspension systems, optionally an electric battery. enabling the motor vehicle 10 to be driven via a drive motor.
[0055] The structure 12 delimits different compartments of the motor vehicle; including the passenger compartment, a rear loading space behind the passenger compartment and a front compartment. The passenger compartment accommodates the occupants. The front compartment may be an engine compartment; or alternatively a loading compartment.
[0056] The motor vehicle 10 comprises several openings 14. The openings 14 are mounted to move relative to the structure 12; for example, by means of pivot connections 16. The pivot connections 16 may be hinges or rod mechanisms. The openings 14 comprise a trunk flap 18, commonly called a rear hatch. The openings 14 also comprise a front hood 20. The front hood 20 provides access to the front compartment. It is mounted to move between an open position shown in dotted lines, and a closed position shown in solid lines. The openings 14 also comprise side doors 22 providing access to the passenger compartment.
[0057] At least one or each opening 14 comprises an outer skin 24 forming the outer envelope of the motor vehicle 10. It also comprises a reinforcing lining 26. The reinforcing lining 26 stiffens the outer skin 24 which masks it; which covers it. An internal lining can cover the reinforcing lining 26 so that the latter is between the internal lining and the outer skin 24.
[0058] The motor vehicle may, for example, be a private motor vehicle or a utility motor vehicle.
[0059] [Fig. 2] shows from below a reinforcement lining 26 of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle may correspond to that shown in relation to [Fig. 1]. The outer skin is not shown for the sake of clarity. In this case, the reinforcement lining 26 is a front hood reinforcement lining. However, the present description applies to any opening reinforcement lining of the motor vehicle.
[0060] The reinforcing lining 26 has at least a first pivot connection attachment zone 28 (not shown). The first attachment zones 28 may be rear attachment zones, or lateral attachment zones. The reinforcing lining 26 has a second attachment zone 30 for a device for locking the opening. The second attachment zone 30 may be a front attachment zone and / or a central attachment zone.
[0061] The reinforcing lining 26 has a stamped sheet 32. The stamped sheet 32 forms a panel. It is a single piece. It is made of one material. It can be a steel or aluminum alloy sheet. Other metals are considered in order to optimize rigidity and mass. The stamped sheet 32 has stiffening profiles 34, and openings 36 allowing it to be lightened. The stiffening profiles 34 can have a “U” or “L” shape. They provide stiffness to the lining of reinforcement 26. The openings 36 are distributed over the reinforcement lining 26, and for example between the stiffening profiles 34.
[0062] The stamped sheet 32 comprises a rim 38. The rim 38 may surround the reinforcing liner 26. It may form a perimeter rim. It must protrude from the side of the lower surface, or first surface 40 of the reinforcing liner 26. The first surface 40 is opposite a second surface (not visible) depending on the thickness of the reinforcing liner 26. The second surface may be an upper surface. It is intended to receive the outer skin.
[0063] The stamped sheet 32 comprises at least, preferably several straight stop tabs 42. The straight stop tabs 42 project from the first surface 40. They are distributed around the periphery of the reinforcing lining 26. They are parallel. At least one or each straight stop tab 42 is at most 10 cm from the edge 38, preferably at most 5 cm from the edge 38.
[0064] The straight stop tabs 42 have a spacer function. They allow the reinforcement liners 26 (only one visible) to be kept at a distance when they are placed against each other. This arrangement is useful when transporting or storing the reinforcement liners 26. Indeed, a reinforcement liner 26 is an extended and thin part. Thanks to the straight nature of each straight stop tab 42, the spacer is more rigid. Thus, the straight stop tabs 42 prevent the reinforcement liners 26 from being forced into each other. Recovering a reinforcement liner 26 from its stack remains easy. Transporting and handling each reinforcement liner 26 only requires efforts related to its mass. The risk of damage during handling remains limited.
[0065] The reinforcing lining 26 also has symmetry. The symmetry is along a central plane 44. In this case, the central plane 44 extends vertically and longitudinally. It is a geometric plane. The symmetry applies to the rim 38 and / or to the arrangement of the straight stop tabs 42. The symmetry can apply to the arrangement of the stiffening profiles 34 and to the arrangement of the openings 36. The reinforcing lining 26 is generally symmetrical along the central plane 44; it may have differences concerning certain holes or certain ribs.
[0066] The stamped sheet 32 has a perimeter portion 46. The perimeter portion 46 extends toward the inside of the reinforcing liner 26 from the rim 38. The perimeter portion 46 is generally flat. It is, for example, horizontal in the stacking configuration. At least one or each straight stop tab 42 is arranged in the perimeter portion 46. This arrangement prevents jamming at the gripping area of the reinforcing liner 26.
[0067] [Fig. 3] shows a right stop tab 42 of reinforcement lining 26 of opening of motor vehicle. The motor vehicle may correspond to that shown in relation to one of Figures 1 to 2. The flange 38 is partially shown in the background. Although only one right stop tab 42 is shown, the present teaching applies to each right stop tab 42 of the reinforcement liner 26.
[0068] The right stop tab 42 forms a bracket rising from the first surface 40. The right stop tab 42 forms spacing means and / or bracing means. It forms a support for receiving another reinforcement lining which is attached to it. The invention provides a benefit for several stacking orientations: for example vertical or horizontal.
[0069] The stamped sheet 32 has a thickness 48. The thickness 48 is defined between the first surface 40 and the second surface 50. It can be measured at the level of the perimeter portion 46; or more generally of the area of implantation of the right stop tab 42. The thickness 48 is between 0.50 mm and 1.00 mm, preferably between 0.65 mm and 0.80 mm.
[0070] The right stop tab 42 comprises a stiffening boss 52. The stiffening boss 52 is formed from the material of the right stop tab 42. It forms a protrusion on one side, and a hollow on the opposite side. The stiffening boss 52 may be a stiffening rib. The stiffening boss 52 extends at least 50% of the length of the right stop tab 42. The stiffening boss 52 improves the stiffness of the right stop tab 42, which improves the support it provides to a reinforcing liner placed above it.
[0071] The right abutment tab 42 comprises a free edge 54. The free edge 54 is opposite the first surface 40. The stiffening boss 52 is at the free edge 54. The free edge 54 delimits the stiffening boss 52. Thus, the available abutment surface, offered by the right abutment tab 42 at its top, increases. The stability of the maintenance of another reinforcement lining placed against it improves.
[0072] The stamped sheet 32 has an opening 56. The opening 56 is a through passage along the thickness 48. It passes through the reinforcing lining 26. The stiffening boss 52 is opposite the opening 56. The opening 56 has a joining edge 58. The joining edge 58 is straight. The straight stop tab 42 extends from the joining edge 58. The area of the straight stop tab 42 is less than or equal to the area of the opening 56.
[0073] The right stop tab 42 comprises a developed length 60. The developed length 60 is measured from the free edge 54 to the joining edge 58 and follows its profile. The opening 56 comprises a second length 62 measured from the joining edge 58. The developed length 60 represents between 50% and 100% of the second length 62; preferably from 80% to 95% of the second length 62. This arrangement makes it possible to form the right stop tab 42 from the material of the opening 56. No additional material is necessary; which rationalizes the mass and the costs.
[0074] By way of example, the right stop tab 42 has a spacing distance 64 relative to the first surface 40 of at least 10 mm, preferably at least 15 mm. The spacing distance 64 is measured perpendicular to the joining edge 58. It is at most 30 mm, preferably at most 20 mm. Furthermore, the right stop tab 42 comprises a width 66 of at least 10 mm. The width 66 is measured parallel to the joining edge 58 and / or to the free edge 54. The width 66 is between 10 mm and 25 mm. For example, the width 66 is greater than or equal to 15 mm. These dimensions make it possible to optimize rigidity and compactness.
[0075] The straight stop tab 42 comprises a straight portion 68 and an angled portion 70 connecting the straight portion 68 to the first surface 40. The angled portion 70 has an arcuate profile. It forms a fold. The straight portion 68 forms a rectilinear portion generally perpendicular to the first surface 40 and / or to the main plane 74 of the reinforcing liner 26. The main plane 74 may be along the opening 56. It may be a mean plane of the reinforcing liner 26.
[0076] The combination of the bent portion 70 and the stiffening boss 52 at the free edge 54 allows for point contact. By reducing the contact surface, the risk of jamming is reduced.
[0077] The stiffening boss 52 is formed in the straight portion 68. The straight stop tab 42 includes two straight side edges 72 that extend perpendicular to the first surface 40. The straight portion 68 forms at least one or each straight side edge 72. The stiffening boss 52 is spaced from the straight side edges 72 to preserve rigidity.
[0078] The right stop tab 42 is configured so that the free edge 54 is in contact with a bent portion of a right stop tab of an identical reinforcing liner (not shown) when these reinforcing liners are superimposed and by aligning the right stop tabs.
[0079] The anti-lock function is effective even when the reinforcing liners are offset relative to each other, and / or substantially rotated relative to each other.
[0080] [Fig. 4] illustrates a stack 76 of reinforcing liners 26 for a motor vehicle opening. The motor vehicle may correspond to that shown in relation to one of FIGS. 1 to 3. For the sake of clarity, only three reinforcing liners 26 are shown. However, the stack may comprise more; for example at least ten or at least twenty reinforcing liners 26.
[0081] The reinforcing liners 26 are superimposed on one another. They are arranged in the same orientation. The bumps are aligned with the hollows of the neighboring reinforcing liners 26, which reduces the thickness of the stack 76. In the present stack 76, for example for transport, the first surfaces 40 are at the top, and the second surfaces 50 are at the bottom. First surfaces 40 are opposite second surfaces 50.
[0082] The openings 56 are aligned. The openings 56 communicate. Each reinforcing liner 26 is configured so that the straight stop tabs 42 form an alignment. They bear against each other. The straight stop tabs 42 are parallel, and possibly coplanar. Thus, the reinforcing liners 26 respect a predefined vertical spacing between each of them.
[0083] It is understood that the invention adds at least one support point between the reinforcing liners 26. Thus, the conical zones have less risk of sinking into each other and becoming blocked. The risk of jamming is eliminated, even in a stack of several dozen reinforcing liners; and despite vibrations during transport.
[0084] [Fig. 5] shows a diagram of a method for manufacturing a reinforcement lining for a motor vehicle opening. The motor vehicle may correspond to that shown in relation to one of Figures 1 to 4.
[0085] The manufacturing process comprises the following steps, in particular carried out in the following order:
[0086] supply 100 of a sheet metal blank;
[0087] stamping 102 of the sheet metal blank so as to form a blank of reinforcement lining;
[0088] cutting 104 of a straight tab in the reinforcement lining blank;
[0089] formation 106 of a stiffening boss in the right tab;
[0090] folding 108 of the right tab by a quarter turn so as to form a right stop tab.
[0091] In the supply step 100, a flat sheet metal blank having a perimeter close to the reinforcing liner is provided. This sheet metal blank has excess widths to maintain it during the subsequent shaping steps.
[0092] In the stamping step 102, the sheet metal blank is shaped in order to gradually produce the reinforcing lining. The stiffening profiles are shaped there by a hydraulic press. The openings are drilled there.
[0093] In the cutting step 104, the right tab is delimited. It is formed by a cut in the shape of the letter “U”. The right tab forms the precursor of the right stop tab. Their surfaces correspond in development. The cutting step 104 includes a removal of material, which contributes to lightening the reinforcement lining.
[0094] In the forming step 106, the stiffening boss moves away from the level of the opening. The step 106 of forming a stiffening boss is optional. The right stop tab, especially its right portion, can remain completely flat.
[0095] At the folding step 108, the straight tab takes a transverse orientation relative to the opening. It becomes perpendicular relative to the first surface. It is folded at 90° relative to its initial position. The straight portion remains straight. The bent portion arches.
[0096] The cutting 104, forming 106 and folding 108 steps can be performed at the same time as the stamping step 102. The cutting step 104 can be performed at the same time as the cutting of the openings. The forming step 106 of the boss can be performed during the formation of the stiffening profiles. The folding step 108 can be performed during the creation of pockets or hollows.
[0097] Certain steps can be combined in a hydraulic press lowering phase.
[0098] Alternatively, the cutting, forming and bending steps may be performed after the stamping step.
[0099] The invention comprises the combination of all the embodiments shown by all the figures.
[0100] Figures 2 to 4 are isometric views. They each respect a specific scale.
