AI Technical Summary
Current hydration packs for trail running are typically single-piece designs with fixed volumes, requiring runners to switch between different packs based on the duration and conditions of their runs, which is inconvenient and environmentally wasteful.
A modular hydration bag system comprising a 'Vest' and a 'Removable Pack' that can be easily attached and detached using clip buckles, allowing the runner to adjust the total volume of the hydration bag according to their needs.
The modular design provides runners with adjustable hydration capacity, reduces environmental impact by minimizing material usage and waste, and offers economic benefits through lower production costs and the ability to purchase additional volume packs separately.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Modular hydration bag for trail running.
[0001] Modular hydration bag for trail running composed of two separate parts presented under the following terms: the “Vest” and the “Removable Pack”.
[0002] Among the essential equipment of a runner, we find in particular the hydration bag. This bag is so called because it allows you to carry with you the water necessary for physical effort. This bag is used both during training and during timed races for example.
[0003] Depending on the distances covered during competitions, the need for water, essential equipment or even food can vary. Hydration packs for trail running currently on the market usually consist of a single piece and have volumes varying from 5L, 8L, 10L or more... This therefore implies that the runner must change hydration packs depending on their practice.
[0004] For a short training session when he only needs 500ml of water, to be able to carry his phone and keys, the runner will choose the smallest hydration pack in his possession. For a competition or long-distance training session, in winter weather conditions for example, the runner will want to have a larger reserve of water, snacks and perhaps also additional equipment such as a rain jacket. The small volume pack then no longer meets this need and new equipment is necessary. The same reasoning applies during an ultra-type competition, when the race organization requires a large list of mandatory equipment.
[0005] It is for all these reasons that brands create hydration bags with different volumes.
[0006] The invention presented here is a modular hydration bag which allows the runner to acquire a bag whose rear pack volume can be adjusted according to his needs.
[0007] The modular hydration bag is made up of two parts: a part called “the vest”, and a rear part called “the removable pack” which will be attached to the “vest” using clip buckles located at the shoulders and waist.
[0008] The “Vest” has a considered volume of IL and has 4 clip buckles: a male clip buckle on the left shoulder (B 1), a male clip buckle on the left underarm (B2), a male clip buckle on the right shoulder (B3) and a female clip buckle on the right underarm (B4).
[0009] The “removable pack” has a considered volume of 3L and has 4 clip buckles: on the upper left mounting bracket a female clip buckle (B7), a female clip buckle (B8) on the lower left mounting bracket, on the upper right mounting bracket a female clip buckle (B5), a male clip buckle (B6) on the lower right mounting bracket.
[0010] The “removable pack” may subsequently be produced with a considered volume of 5L.
[0011] The runner therefore has a modular and removable hydration bag that he can use without a rear pack for short training sessions requiring only taking IL of hydration.
[0012] The 2 parts “Vest” (A) and “Removable Pack” (C) are assembled to form a single element: the modular hydration bag by clipping the male clip buckle on the left shoulder of the “Vest” (Bl) with the female clip buckle on the upper left leg of the “Removable Pack” (B7), then the male clip buckle on the left underarm of the “Vest” (B2) with the female clip buckle on the lower left leg of the “Removable Pack” (B8), the male clip buckle on the right shoulder of the “Vest” (B3) with the female clip buckle on the upper right leg of the “Removable Pack” (B5) and finally the female clip buckle on the right underarm of the “Vest” (B4) with the male clip buckle on the lower right leg of the “Removable Pack” (B6).
[0013] The combination of the “removable pack” and the “vest” will allow the runner to obtain a 4L hydration bag (1L+3L). The runner will thus be able to have 3 hydration bag options: IL, 4L and 6L by acquiring a second independent “removable pack” of 5L for example.
[0014] The impact of such an invention is on the one hand economic, the cost of manufacturing a removable pack is 30 to 40% cheaper than manufacturing an entire bag. The runner benefits from this economic advantage when purchasing a removable pack with an additional larger volume.
[0015] On the other hand, this has an impact on the preservation of the environment, because the manufacture of a vest requires approximately 70% fewer resources in materials (fabrics, plastics, etc.). Producing fewer materials also helps to reduce waste when the user wants to discard their modular hydration bag. The runner thus becomes aware of the environmental consequences that consuming several different bags can have.
[0016] Finally, from a comfort of use point of view, the runner will see the risk of friction or irritation reduced by only changing the removable pack and no longer the entire bag with the hydration bags currently on the market.
[0017] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:
[0018] Figure No. 1 represents the modular hydration bag composed of 2 distinct parts presented under the following terms: a “Vest” and a “Removable Pack”.
[0019] Figure No. 2 represents the “Vest” (A) alone with the attachment system for the “removable pack” made up of the clip buckles Bl, B2, B3, B4.
[0020] Figure No. 3 represents the “removable pack” (C) alone with the attachment system for the “vest” consisting of clip buckles B5, B6, B7, B8.
[0021] Figure No. 4 represents the bag assembled by the attachment system of the 2 parts of the bag.
[0022] [Fig.l].
[0023] Presentation of the modular and removable hydration bag composed of the “Vest” (A) and the “Removable Pack” (C)
[0024] [Fig.2], With reference to these drawings, it can be seen that the “vest” has a male clip buckle on the left shoulder (Bl), a male clip buckle on the left underarm (B2), a male clip buckle on the right shoulder (B3) and a female clip buckle on the right underarm (B4).
[0025] [Fig.3], The “removable pack” has a female clip buckle (B7) on the upper left mounting bracket, and a female clip buckle (B8) on the lower left mounting bracket. The “removable pack” has a female clip buckle (B5) on the upper right mounting bracket, and a male clip buckle (B6) on the lower right mounting bracket.
[0026] [Fig.4], By clipping the male clip buckle on the left shoulder of the “Vest” (Bl) with the female clip buckle on the upper left leg of the “Removable Pack” (B7), then the male clip buckle on the left underarm of the “Vest” (B2) with the female clip buckle on the lower left leg of the “Removable Pack” (B8), the male clip buckle on the right shoulder of the “Vest” (B3) with the female clip buckle on the upper right leg of the “Removable Pack” (B5) and finally the female clip buckle on the right underarm of the “Vest” (B4) with the male clip buckle on the lower right leg of the “Removable Pack” (B6), the 2 parts “Vest” (A) and “Removable Pack” (C) are assembled to form a single bag with a total volume of 4L.
