Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Vehicle carpet support intended to rest on cross members
[0001] The invention relates to a vehicle carpet support, as well as to a vehicle equipped with such a support.
[0002] It is known to install carpets on the floor of a vehicle, possibly above a layer of soundproofing, in order to improve the quality of life on board the vehicle and to reduce noise inside the vehicle. In certain areas of the vehicle, the carpet is not directly against the floor of the vehicle, but at a distance from it in order to create a space allowing the passage of technical components, such as an electrical harness, between the carpet and the floor. It is then necessary to provide a means for keeping the carpet at a distance from the floor of the vehicle.
[0003] Document US3078116 describes a vehicle comprising a protective housing for the passage of the harness fixed on the side member of the vehicle and covered by a carpet. Thus the harness passing through the housing is protected against crushing in the case where a vertical force directed towards the bottom of the vehicle is applied against the carpet.
[0004] The disadvantage of such a solution is that the housing must be sized so that the distance between the element of the vehicle structure on which it rests, such as a vehicle floor, and the carpet is as desired. It is then not possible to reuse this housing on different vehicles when the distance between the carpet and the structural element, as well as the shape of the structural element, is not identical, leading to a diversity of parts.
[0005] In particular, the presence of batteries under the floor for a first type of vehicle, for example for an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid vehicle, implies a higher floor than in a second type of vehicle based on the same structure as the first type of vehicle but with propulsion by a thermal engine which does not include a battery under the floor, while the vertical position of the carpet must remain the same between the two types of vehicles. The height between the floor and the carpet for a vehicle of the second type is then greater than for a vehicle of the first type. In addition, this height becomes too great to be able to fill it with conventional solutions based on polyurethane foam or a wedge embedded in such foam due to the constraints linked to the tools.
[0006] The objective of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks. In particular, one of the objectives is to provide a simple and economical means for supporting a mat in a vehicle that reduces the diversity of parts between different types of vehicles. Notably, one of the objectives is to create a support that keeps a mat at a distance from a vehicle floor regardless of the position of the floor.
[0007] This object is achieved according to the invention by means of a support for a vehicle mat intended to be installed between two cross members of a vehicle front floor, resting on said cross members, the support extending in a main longitudinal direction and comprising a main body connected to two substantially flat end portions, each of the end portions having two opposite end edges substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction, each of said end edges having dropped edges extending on the same side of the support and perpendicular to the end portions, preferably the dropped edges are elastically connected to the end portions.
[0008] Thus advantageously, whatever the type of vehicle, and in particular whatever the position of the floor of the vehicle in a direction vertical to the vehicle, the vertical position of the carpet in the vehicle remains constant while using the same support, the latter not being in contact with the floor. Indeed, the end parts allowing rest on said cross members, the position of the body on which the carpet rests is independent of the position of the floor between the cross members. In addition, reliable support of the support can be achieved thanks to the contact of the edges falling against faces of structural elements, such as a side member wall and a wall of a plate projecting from the cross member. By dimensioning its edges falling so as to put them under tension by deformation against these faces, for example by making the connection with the end part elastic, the support is maintained and the risks of vibration are reduced.
[0009] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the main body is arranged offset from the end portions in the opposite direction of the flanged edges so as to form a step between the main body and a front end portion, as well as between the main body and a rear end portion.
[0010] Thus advantageously, when the support is installed between two sleepers, the end parts resting on said sleepers and the flanged edges extending in the opposite direction of the sleepers, the support is held between the sleepers by the difference in level between the end parts and the main body, in other words by abutment of each of the steps formed by the offset between the main body and each of the end parts, against each of the sleepers.
[0011] The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising a floor delimited on either side by longitudinal side members; at least two cross members, a front cross member and a rear cross member, extending across the floor transversely to the vehicle up to one of the side members and substantially perpendicular to said side member; and a mat extending above and at a distance from at least a part of the floor between the cross members, characterized in that the vehicle comprises a support extending between the cross members, said support comprising a front end portion resting on the front cross member, a rear end portion resting on the rear cross member, and a main body between said end portions and located at a distance from the floor, the mat resting on the support at least between the front and rear cross members so as to be at a distance from the floor at least between said cross members.
[0012] Thus advantageously, the carpet is kept away from the floor without having to resort to large thicknesses of materials, such as polyurethane foams, thanks to the support. The mass of the vehicle and the manufacturing cost of the vehicle are reduced. In addition, the support can be used on different types of vehicle independently of the position of the floor relative to the cross members, while maintaining the carpet in a given vertical position relative to the vehicle, at a distance from the floor. For example, the support is as described above.
[0013] In a particular embodiment of the invention, the carpet comprises a thickness of flexible soundproofing on its face facing the floor, resting against the support.
[0014] Thus advantageously, just the necessary amount of soundproofing is used to obtain the desired soundproofing of the vehicle, without adding an additional thickness to fill a space between the carpet and the floor. The mass and quantity of material, and therefore the cost, are reduced.
[0015] In another embodiment of the invention, at least one of the crosspieces comprises a fixing plate for equipment such as a seat, projecting from said crosspiece on the face of said crosspiece opposite the floor, and at a distance from the side member so as to leave a space between the side member and said plate, one of the end parts of the support resting on the crosspiece between the plate and the side member.
[0016] In another embodiment of the invention, the front cross member and the rear cross member each comprise a plate for fixing equipment, respectively a front plate and a rear plate, each plate projecting relative to a face of the cross member on which it is arranged opposite the floor, at a transverse distance from the side member so as to leave a space between the side member and each of the plates, the support resting on the front cross member by its front end part between the side member and the front plate, and on the rear cross member by its rear end part between the side member and the rear plate.
[0017] Thus advantageously, the support is held transversely by the plates on one side and by the side member on the other side.
[0018] In another embodiment, the support comprises elastic holding means on one of these end parts, said holding means being placed in abutment against one of the plates and the side member, preferably the support comprises elastic holding means at each of these end parts with the means for holding the front end part in abutment against the front plate and the side member, and the means for holding the rear end part against the rear plate and the side member.
[0019] Thus advantageously, the support is held using the holding means placed in support and under constraint between the plates and the side members, limiting the risks of vibrations and noise due to unwanted movements.
[0020] In another embodiment of the invention, the holding means are formed by flanged edges each arranged at least along edges of one of the end parts of the support, said end part being arranged between one of the plates and the spar, one of the flanged edges being along one edge of said end part opposite the spar and the other flanged edge being along another edge of said end part located opposite the plate.
[0021] Thus advantageously, the holding means are produced in a simple and inexpensive manner.
[0022] In another embodiment of the invention, the support comprises two secondary holding means, a front secondary holding means bearing against the front crossmember and / or the front plate when the vehicle has a front plate, and a rear secondary holding means bearing against the rear crossmember and / or the rear plate when the vehicle has a rear plate, the front and rear secondary holding means bearing respectively against the faces of the front and rear crossmembers and / or the front and rear plates oriented towards the space defined between the crossmembers.
[0023] Thus advantageously, the support is held in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, reducing the risks of vibration and movement of the support in this longitudinal direction.
[0024] In another embodiment of the invention, the main body of the support has a notch along its edge facing the side member and through which notch passes an electrical harness.
[0025] Thus advantageously, the support allows localized passage of a beam from a space located above the support, opposite the floor, to a space located between the support and the floor.
[0026] The invention will be better understood on reading the following description, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
[0027] [Fig-1] represents a perspective view of a side part of a vehicle according to the invention at the junction between a floor, a side member and seat cross members.
[0028] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of a section along a longitudinal plane P and vertical to the vehicle of [Fig.l].
[0029] [Fig.3] represents a perspective view from above of a support according to the invention.
[0030] [Fig.4] represents the support of [Fig.l] according to a perspective view from below.
[0031] The drawings are schematic representations to facilitate understanding of the invention. The components are not necessarily shown to scale. The same references correspond to the same components from one figure to another.
[0032] The X axis represents the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the Y axis the transverse direction and the Z axis the vertical direction. The forward, backward, up, down directions are taken in the vehicle's frame of reference.
[0033] [Fig.l] illustrates a vehicle according to the invention, comprising a lateral side member 4 on each side of a floor 3. Each of the side members 4 extends parallel to a longitudinal direction X of the vehicle. The vehicle therefore comprises two side members 4 laterally delimiting the floor 3. The vehicle further comprises at least two cross members, a front cross member 31 and a rear cross member 32, extending on the floor 3 transversely to the vehicle, up to one of the side members 4 and substantially perpendicular to said side member 4. The floor 3 is for example a front floor of a vehicle. The cross members 31, 32 are on the floor 3, that is to say on the passenger compartment side of the vehicle. A support 1 extends between the cross members 31, 32, bearing on said cross members 31, 32.It comprises a front end portion 11 resting on the front cross member 31, a rear end portion 12 resting on the rear cross member 32, and a main body 10 between said front 11 and rear 12 end portions, connected to said front 11 and rear 12 end portions. The main body 10 is located at a distance from the floor 3, that is to say there is a space between the main body 10 and the floor 3.
[0034] As illustrated in [Fig.2], the vehicle comprises a carpet 5 extending above the floor 3. The carpet 5 is at a distance from the floor at least between the cross members 31, 32, and rests on the support 1 between the front 31 and rear 32 cross members. In the embodiment of Figures 1 and 2, the support 1 is against the side member 4, that is to say that one of the edges of the support 1, for example along the main body 10, is in contact with the side member 4. The carpet 5 is therefore at a distance from the floor 3 between the front 31 and rear 32 cross members at least along the side member 4 thanks to the support 1. The term carpet refers to any flexible vehicle floor covering, such as for example a carpet or any other covering in the form of a flexible plastic sheet.
[0035] In the embodiment of [Fig.2], the carpet 5 further comprises a thickness of flexible soundproofing 6 on its face facing the floor 3, the thickness of soundproofing 6 bearing against the support 1. The thickness of soundproofing 6 is for example a polyurethane foam, or any other soundproofing material known to those skilled in the art.
[0036] As illustrated in [Fig.l], in which the carpet 5 is not shown, the vehicle comprises on the front cross member 31 a front plate 33 for fixing equipment and on the rear crossmember 32 a rear plate 34 for fixing equipment, the equipment being for example a seat. Each of the plates 33, 34 projects relative to each of the crossmembers 31, 32, on the face of said crossmembers 31, 23 opposite the floor 3. In other words, the plates 33, 34 extend in a vertical direction Z to the vehicle in the direction opposite the floor 3, from a face of their respective crossmember 31, 32 opposite the floor 3. The plates 33, 34 comprise for example fixing interfaces intended to fix the equipment, such as a seat, to the vehicle. The plates 33, 34 are arranged at a distance from the side member 4 in the transverse direction Y to the vehicle so as to leave a space between the side member 4 and each of the plates 33, 34.The support 1 rests by its front end part 11 on the front cross member 31 between the side member 4 and the front plate 33, and on the rear cross member 32 by its rear end part 12 between the side member 4 and the rear plate 34, in the space left free between the side member 4 and respectively each of the front 33 and rear 34 plates.
[0037] As illustrated in [Fig. 1] and 3, the support 1 comprises elastic holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 at at least one of these end portions 11, 12. The holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 are configured to bear against one of the plates 33, 34 and the side member 4. In the embodiment of the figures, the support 1 comprises elastic holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 at each of these front 11 and rear 12 end portions. The holding means 111, 112 arranged at the front end portion 11 bear against the front plate 33 and the side member 4, and the holding means 121, 122 arranged at the rear end portion 12 bear against the front plate 33 and the side member 4. against the rear plate 34 and the side member 4.
[0038] The holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 are for example formed by flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 each arranged along edges of the end portions 11, 12 of the support 1 at which they are arranged. The front end portion 11 comprises for example a front outer flanged edge 112 along the edge of said front end portion 11 facing the spar 4, and a front inner flanged edge 111 along the edge of said front end portion 11 facing the front plate 33. The front outer flanged edge 112 bears against the spar 4 and the front inner flanged edge 111 bears against the front plate 33.
[0039] Similarly, the rear end portion 12 has a rear outer flanged edge 122 along the edge of said rear end portion 12 facing the spar 4, and a rear inner flanged edge 121 along the edge of said rear end portion 12 facing the rear plate 34. The rear outer flanged edge 122 bears against the spar 4 and the rear inner flanged edge 121 bears against the rear plate 34.
[0040] In an alternative embodiment, when the support 1 is not installed on the vehicle, the front inner 111 and outer 112 flanged edges, and similarly the rear inner 121 and outer 122 flanged edges, form between them an angle greater than 0°, for example less than 10°. When the support 1 is installed in the vehicle, the tensioning by the front plate 33 and the side member 4 of the front flanged edges 111, 112, and similarly the rear flanged edges 121, 122 by the rear plate 34 and the side member 4, reduces this angle between said flanged edges. Said flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 are elastic or elastically connected to the end portions at which they are arranged.
[0041] The front inner flanged edge 111 and the front outer flanged edge 112 are therefore put under tension, i.e. slightly bent towards each other by contact with the front plate 33 and the spar 4, and similarly the rear inner flanged edge 121 and the rear outer flanged edge 122 are put under tension, i.e. slightly bent towards each other by contact with the rear plate 34 and the spar 4.
[0042] In other words, when inserting the support 1 between the front 33 and rear 34 plates and the side member 4, the end of the front inner 111 and rear 121 flanged edge respectively, and the end of the front outer 112 and rear 122 flanged edge respectively, move closer to each other by the elasticity of said flanged edges, putting these flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 under tension. This results in a return force generating a support of said flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 against the side member 4 and the front 33 and rear 34 plates on which they rest. These holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 allow lateral stabilization of the support, that is to say along the transverse direction Y of the vehicle, reducing the risks of noise appearing by reducing the risk of vibration of the support. The force resulting from the tensioning of the holding means 111, 112, 121, 122 also makes it possible, but to a lesser extent, to reduce the risks of vibration in the longitudinal X and vertical Z directions.
[0043] In an alternative embodiment, shown in [Fig. 3] and 4, the support 1 comprises two secondary holding means: a front secondary holding means 13 bears against the front crosspiece 31 and / or against the front plate 33, against the face of said front crosspiece 31 and / or of the front plate 33 oriented towards the side of the space defined between the front 31 and rear 32 crosspieces, and a rear secondary holding means 14 bears against the rear crosspiece 32 and / or against the rear plate 34, against the face of the rear crosspiece 32 and / or of the rear plate 34 oriented towards the side of the space defined between the front 31 and rear 32 crosspieces.
[0044] For example, the main body 10 is of generally rectangular shape, the width of which is in the transverse direction Y of the vehicle and the length in the longitudinal direction X of the vehicle. The front 11 and rear 12 end portions are connected to the main body 10 at the edges of the main body extending in the width: the front end portion 11 is connected to a front edge of the main body 10 and the rear end portion 12 is connected to a rear edge of the main body 10. The front 11 and rear 12 end portions are of a width less than the width of the main body 10, so that the front edge and respectively the rear edge of the main body 10 comprises a connecting portion with the front end portion 11, and respectively with the rear end portion 12, and a free portion at the level of which the front secondary holding means 13, respectively the rear secondary holding means 14, extend.
[0045] The front 13 and rear 14 secondary holding means are for example formed respectively by front 13 and rear 14 secondary fallen edges extending respectively from the front and rear free edge of the main body 10. Thus, the front edge of the main body 10 comprises a connecting portion connected to the front end part 11 and a free portion connected to the front secondary fallen edge 13; likewise the rear edge of the main body 10 comprises a connecting portion connected to the rear end part 12 and a free portion connected to the rear secondary fallen edge 14.
[0046] In Figures 3 and 4, the front 13 and rear 14 secondary flanged edges extend on the same side of the support 1 as the inner 111, 121 and outer 112, 122 flanged edges of the front 11 and rear 12 end portions.
[0047] In an alternative embodiment, when the support 1 is not installed on the vehicle, the front 13 and rear 14 secondary flanged edges form between them an angle greater than 0°, for example less than 10°. When the support 1 is installed in the vehicle, the tensioning of the front 13 and rear 14 flanged edges against the front 31 and rear 32 crossmembers and / or against the front 33 and rear 34 plates, reduces this angle between said secondary flanged edges 13, 14. These front 13 and rear 14 secondary flanged edges are elastic or elastically connected to the main body 10 so as to generate a force by pressing against the crossmembers 31, 32 and / or against the plates 33, 34.
[0048] These secondary holding means 13, 14 allow longitudinal stabilization of the support, that is to say in the longitudinal direction X of the vehicle, reducing the risks of noise occurring by reducing the risk of vibration of the support 1 in this longitudinal direction. The force resulting from the tensioning of the secondary holding means 13, 14 also makes it possible to reduce, but to a lesser extent, the risks of vibration in the transverse Y and vertical Z directions.
[0049] In order to allow the passage of an electrical harness 7 between the support 1 and the side member 4, the main body 10 of the support 1 comprises a notch 17 along its edge facing the side member 4 and through which notch 17 passes said electrical harness 7.
[0050] The support 1 is made for example from a piece of plastic material, for example by injection into a plastic mold.
[0051] In an alternative embodiment shown in [Fig.4], the main body 10 comprises a network of ribs 18 in order to stiffen it. For example, the network of ribs 18 is formed by a first series of ribs extending in the longitudinal direction X and a second series of ribs extending in the transverse direction Y of the vehicle and crossing the first series of ribs. The series of ribs are arranged under the main body 10, that is to say on the face of the main body 10 facing the floor 3 when the support 1 is installed on the vehicle.
[0052] In the variant shown in [Fig. 3] and 4, the support 1 extends in the longitudinal direction X when it is installed on the vehicle. The main body 10 and the two end portions 11, 12 are substantially planar. Each of the end portions 11, 12 comprises two opposite end edges substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction X. Each of said end edges respectively comprises one of the flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 extending on the same side of the support, perpendicular to the front 11 and rear 12 end portions. The flanged edges 111, 112, 121, 122 are for example elastically connected to the end portions 11, 12 to which they are attached. The main body 10 is arranged offset in the vertical direction Z relative to the end portions 11, 12 and in the opposite direction of the fallen edges 111, 112, 121, 122 so as to form a forward step 15 between the main body 10 and the front end portion 11, as well as a reverse step 16 between the main body 10 and the rear end portion 12. In other words, once the support 1 is installed on the vehicle, the main body 10 is lower than the front 11 and rear 12 end portions, that is to say closer to the floor 3 than said end portions, the bottom being taken in the frame of reference of the vehicle.
[0053] As illustrated in [Fig.3], the support 1 comprises in a variant a series of corner ribs 19 at the front and rear edges of the main body 10; these corner ribs 19 are arranged at least at the junction between the front edge of the main body 10 and the front secondary fallen edge 13, as well as between the rear secondary edge 14 and the rear edge of the main body 10. They extend in a plane parallel to the longitudinal direction X and vertical direction Z. The series of corner ribs 19 also extends partly at the junction between the front end portion 11, and respectively the rear end portion 12, and the main body 10, in the steps 15, 16 formed by the difference in level between the main body 10 and the front 11 and rear 12 end portions.
[0054] The support 1 is for example symmetrical with respect to a plane parallel to the transverse Y and vertical Z directions so that the same support 1 can be placed on the right side or on the left side of the vehicle, that is to say along the right side member 4 or left of the vehicle, simply by turning the support 1 by rotation around the vertical direction Z.
[0055] In another variant, the support 1 can be made of another material, such as for example honeycomb cardboard or metal.
