Upholstery element comprising a modular touch interface. The invention relates to an upholstery element comprising an image generation device, a display surface (16), and a sensor arranged to detect contact on the display surface. The image generation device is arranged to project an image onto a display area (20) of the display surface. The upholstery element includes a control device (29) arranged to make an activation area (30) of the display surface (16) activatable by contact to control a function associated with the image projected onto the display area, and to deactivate the display surface (16) by contact outside the activation area (30).
