Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Magnetic collector with ferromagnetic particles.
[0001] The invention relates to a device designed to separate solid ferromagnetic particles from an air stream passing through the device.
[0002] Fine and ultrafine ferromagnetic particles represent a major portion of the particles produced by vehicle brakes. Particles emitted by brakes are predominant in urban environments and near areas with heavy road traffic. Suspended in the air, ferromagnetic particles rise to high altitudes and travel long distances, which represents a health risk factor.
[0003] The present invention makes it possible to separate ferromagnetic particles from an air stream passing through the device.
[0004] The device, according to a first characteristic, is composed of: a. The source of a magnetic field, capable of attracting, stopping and retaining ferromagnetic particles. b. Support on which the source of a magnetic field is fixed.
[0005] According to particular non-limiting embodiments: 1. One version shows the cover of a window vent (air inlet) acting as a support for the source of a magnetic field (permanent magnet). Ferromagnetic particles carried by an air current passing through the air inlet are attracted, stopped and retained by the source of a magnetic field. The base of the air inlet has a tab (protrusion) that fits into a groove in the air inlet cover, which allows the air inlet cover to be attached to the base. The base also has a ferromagnetic part. By positioning the cover on the base, the ferromagnetic part and the source of a magnetic field (permanent magnet) are attracted to each other, which allows the two parts to be fixed together. The magnetic attachment ensures easy assembly and disassembly, which is necessary for regular cleaning of the vent. 2. In the version of the device representing a particle collector representing a source of a magnetic field (permanent magnet) wrapped in its support. This variant of the device is particularly intended for installation in high traffic areas or near traffic lights.
[0006] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:
[0007] [Fig.l] represents in section, the device of the invention.
[0008] [Fig.2] shows in section, a variant of this device.
[0009] With reference to these drawings, the device consists of a source of a magnetic field (1) and its support (2).
[0010] In the non-limiting embodiment according to [Fig.l] representing an air inlet of a window. The base of the air inlet (3) comprising a projection (4) housed in a groove (5) of the cover (2) of the air inlet. The source of a magnetic field (1) is integrated in the cover (2). The ferromagnetic part (6) is integrated in the base (3). By positioning the cover (2) on the base (3) the ferromagnetic part (6) and the source of a magnetic field (permanent magnet) (1) are attracted to each other, which makes it possible to fix the two parts together. The ferromagnetic particles (7) transported by an air current passing through the air inlet are attracted, stopped and retained by the source of a magnetic field (1).
[0011] In the non-limiting embodiment according to [Fig.2] representing a collector of ferromagnetic particles. The device consists of a source of a magnetic field (1), integrated in its support (2).
